After restrictions have just been relaxed, the usual crowd of people picnicking and flying kites have come back, old hustle and bustle, truly a nostalgic place of my childhood. Sunset there is absolutely magnificent in the evening and it is surely worth a visit just for the view. You can really relax there or fly kites. Popular with cyclists and tourists alike.

Beautiful place to watch the sunrise 😍 Wow! Cool breeze, nice spacious walking so bikes and walkers can respectfully co-exist. (No "ding ding") nonsense. So many places to see the sunrise! Have to go back again and again!

An absolutely brilliant spot for chilling out, picnic, flying kites and drones. Has a fabulous hour there. It’s very open with some shaded areas when considering the sun ☀️ but free and with good facilities around.

The main attraction is just the roof top turf which I think is not big as well. We were there on Saturday morning so no so pack with people. Otherwise it is more of seeing the view of Marina Bay only, and not much on the Barrage itself. It was pack with cyclist on the ground floor though so newbie better be careful.

Great outdoor open space for families and group picnics, kite-flying, and enjoying clear views of the sea and skyline. Do check the weather forecast to see if umbrellas or raincoats are needed. It is easier to get to now with the newly opened Gardens by the Bay MRT station.

Very windy even though it was sunny at 9-10 am in the morning. If you can get shady area then it's not so bad, otherwise the heat is crazy. The walk there from Marina South Pier was super hot. Better to go afternoon near sunset. Bring picnic mat if you have one. Great for group gatherings.

Huge place with a large grass patch on the roof where you can have a picnic, fly a kite or just to gather with your friends and families. Surrounded with the beautiful landscape where you can see the sea and the Singapore skyline. It gets better when the sun sets as the colourful lights will start to shine lighting up the Gardens by the Bay and the city skyscrapers. Easy access to food from the nearby Satay By The Bay hawker centre, and there is a small shop in the Marina Barrage itself that sells snacks and kites. Overall a really nice and windy place to spend time with friends and families.

Visited in July. There is some renovation work going on so do expect some mess, temporary toilets, lift under maintenance, etc. Crowded in weekends. Come after 5.30pm to avoid the burning sun. There is Sustainable Singapore gallery at level 2 (right below the green roof), worth a visit for the kids to avoid the heat. I personally love it. Sunset on the roof is nice, love the breeze.

One of the best night spot to see Singapore skyline from here. The wind can get pretty strong here sometimes. Make sure to bring your umbrella in case raining, shelter might be a little too far. Lights closed at 11:30pm, not sure if they will close the gate at 12:00 midnight. Security are everywhere so it’s very safe. The carpark at the Marina Barrage is also a good place to see the storming seawater up-close. Be careful because there’s no railing.

A suitable place for picnic! Remember to bring a mat and come along with friends so that you can enjoy the scenery and nature while having fun! Weather might be hot so need to check weather forecast. Advisable don't wear long pants as you will sweat and feel hot!!!

It consists of 9 steel sluices each 30 meters long. 🎁As one of the comprehensive flood control plans, 🥰can alleviate the flooding problem in lower-lying areas, 🚨also plays a role in isolating the coastal sea channel from the sea; 🌅In addition to solving the problem of water shortage, the [🚀Singapore] government is also determined Create a dyke into a resting place in the urban area. The main building of "🏟Marina Dam" includes the "Sustainable Singapore Gallery", restaurants and boutiques, where citizens can visit and learn about urban development. 🏕The most eye-catching thing is that the roof of the main building of the dyke is covered with a 180-degree loop of turf, and the total area is 4 standard football fields. Looking down from a height, the appearance of "Binhai Dyke" looks like a green vortex. 😍The green roof allows citizens to engage in different recreational activities. 🎡On the grass, you can also overlook the giant "Ferris Wheel Singapore Flyer" on the opposite bank of the river and the view of the city center. 🌈Purchase a kite for about $6-$12 on the first floor, and head to the end of the dam to enjoy the leisurely kite-flying. Very nice place! Perfect to sit with friends and family. From there one has a great view to the skyline of Singapore and the later it got the better it was. Skyline in the dark was extraordinary! But: sitting in grass, so consider to bring a towel or equivalent to sit on:)

Marina Barrage was a wonderful experience for me! I went there at night and I was amazed by the city skyline and the ocean breeze. It was so relaxing and refreshing. I also liked seeing people having fun with their families and friends. It was a great way to enjoy the city and nature. Marina Barrage is a place you should visit if you want to see amazing views, feel peaceful, and join the community spirit. I loved it! Here are some tips to make your visit even better: Go early or on weekdays to avoid the crowds. Wear comfortable shoes as you will walk a lot and see beautiful views. Bring a picnic basket and some snacks and enjoy the green grass. Bring a camera to capture the stunning views. Enjoy the warm and humid weather.

Singapore can literally turned the barrage into the viewpoint and recreation area in an innovative way that allow people to hang out. You can walk up to the rooftop of the barrage to admire the city view or playing kite. The hidden spot in our Singapore travel guide will definitely leave you a good impression and ease of mind Tips: You can bike through the Marina East Park from Marina barrage or learn more about Singapore sustainable effort to go green in the educational center on the ground floor

Marina Barrage is a dam built across the Marina Channel, creating a reservoir. It serves to alleviate flooding in low-lying areas and provides a freshwater supply. Additionally, it's a popular recreational spot offering stunning views of the city skyline and various activities like kite flying and picnics.

I had a picnic to watch the sun sets and Supertree grove showing from here. It’s fantastic to look around the view of boats in the sea and Singapore city night view. It makes me feel peace and enjoy these moments to stay myself that I really chill during my vacation mode.

This place is a public area with a spacious garden and green grass. If you come here, try to do it after 5 pm because during the day it is very hot. No one usually enters, but this place offers a very spectacular view. A must visit if you are on holiday in Singapore.

The atmosphere was amazing up there - with a large green field for picnics, walks, and kite flying. It was windy and cooling, and the view of Marina Bay Sands at night with all the lights was very pretty. I would definitely recommend anyone to go there to chill or picnic with friends and family, especially because it’s open for 24hours. It’s great to go there at any time of the day, except that at night it can get pretty dark due to the lack of lights on the field. (They are only placed at the sides of the wall ways) I went there at 8pm to fly a kite and it was still a great time overall, sufficient space for us to run around as well.

Best place to exercise at night. The path leads to another park where joggers or cyclist can experience breathtaking views either in the morning or at night. It has a private viewing balcony where couple can setup a picnic across the Singapore city with a spectacular view. Tons of starts show up at night, I managed to have a glance at Jupiter on the day itself. Just beautifully amazing.

Marina Barrage is Singapore proud unique structure that brings fresh drinkable water to our homes. Visit of the experience centre is free to know more how they distillized sea water to become fresh water. Besides that it's a good place for family picnic with a nice view of Singapore horizon.

One of my favourite places in Singapore where you can have picnic and fly a kite during daytime, or look at the stars or take a short walk in the evening, with your loved ones. The best timing to visit is 5:00-5:30pm as such it won’t be too hot and you can enjoy the beautiful sunset as well! Do check the weather forecast before you decide to come over.

A beautiful wide, open, greenery and spacious place to have family gatherings, parties, kids outing etc. One can enjoy flying the kite, take photos, kids play etc. The best part is the sea view and ofcourse the Marina bay sands hotel with garden by the bay view. It's just fantastic. Couples can also enjoy drinks with soft music in the blowing wind. As It's the roof top area, makes it more romantic and exciting. A must go place. I'm sure you're gonna just love this place.

Another awesome place in Singapore for outdoor activities for either individuals, couples and families, be it to fly kite, a jog, a walk or a ride. Anytime is worth the effort to visit the barrage. The surrounding landscape is lush and well maintained. There are plenty of pockets for picnic spots. The view is beautiful and peaceful. A great place for locals or visitors alike to hang out.

A beautiful outdoor space in Singapore with great view of MBS, Gardens by the Bay, and all the bayfront area. Come and visit Marina Barrage in the late afternoon or evening to see the best part. Do - bring some food, snack, and drinks to picnic here at the Barrage, as they don’t have vendor machines or restaurants.

Perfect place for a picnic (ok might be a little too sunny because there’s no trees for shelter). Good place to people-watch. Lots of people bring their pets here to play. Dogs, cats and even bunnies. Nice place for photoshoots as well. Seen many wedding photographers come here for shoots. We were lucky enough to watch the sunset and witnessed a double rainbow too. What a wonderful experience 👍🏻

Marina Barrage in Singapore is one of the most beautiful and popular places to fly a kite. This iconic landmark is located at the heart of Singapore's Marina Bay, and it is an excellent spot for kite flying enthusiasts of all ages. With its vast open space, constant breeze, and stunning panoramic views of the city skyline, Marina Barrage is an ideal place to relax, unwind, and fly your kite. One of the best things about flying a kite at Marina Barrage is the spectacular backdrop of the Marina Bay skyline. You can see some of Singapore's most famous landmarks such as Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, and the Singapore Flyer while enjoying the fresh air and beautiful scenery. The vast expanse of the Marina Barrage rooftop also means that there is plenty of space for everyone to fly their kites without any risk of collisions or tangled lines. Another reason why Marina Barrage is a great place to fly a kite is the constant breeze. The area is situated in an ideal location, where the wind is consistently blowing, making it perfect for kite flying. The constant wind makes it easier to fly a kite, and it can help you create some incredible kite displays, especially if you're an experienced kite flyer. Marina Barrage is also an excellent place for families to enjoy a day out. The vast rooftop space provides plenty of room for children to run around and play while parents can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The area is also equipped with amenities such as restrooms, water fountains, and picnic areas, making it easy to stay for an entire day. In conclusion, Marina Barrage in Singapore is a beautiful and fantastic place to fly a kite. With its stunning views, constant breeze, and ample space, it is an ideal spot for kite flying enthusiasts and families looking for a fun day out. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced kite flyer, Marina Barrage is a must-visit destination.

The view of the marina barrage was absolutely stunning, with the Marina Bay Sands and Singapore Flyer in the distance. It is a great location for a family photoshoot. The Singapore Barrage is also an impressive feat of engineering, providing flood control for the city while also offering a picturesque location for visitors. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, with ample seating areas and shaded spots to relax and take in the stunning views. Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Singapore Barrage, whether you're looking to take some great photos, enjoy a scenic walk or simply want to appreciate the beauty of Singapore's cityscape. It's a must-see attraction that's sure to leave a lasting impression.

A very good place to have a walk with your family and to visit slowly. It is also very good if you have some kites and you want to use them in the open spaces. An excellent and bright environment. The shop at Barrage Cove sells good kites and the staff employees are very helpful in setting up them, if you need help. Intelligent place, also close to Marina Sands.

Came here for a walk. Very empty today, probably because it's a working Monday and also coz there are no more tourists. ✓ Scenic and windy at the top level. You can see the Singapore skyline with MBS, Singapore flyer etc. ✓ Staff was very friendly. They informally conducted a tour of the Marina Barrage simulation even though the next tour is at 1pm, an hour later. We got to see the model working. I didn't know so many rivers lead to Marina Barrage. 👎 Toilets were not very well-maintained at the moment. Floor at the men's were wet.

It is playing an important part for Singapore's water management and becoming a family picnic destination. Feel free to picnic and playing kites together with your family and friends. You can continue to exercise by walking to the east part of the garden by the bay.

Many people flock to this wonderful place over the weekends, it's a nice place to spend your evenings and enjoy the city views in sunset. People fly kites as its quite windy and couples have their photoshoots planned with the great city skyscrappers in the background. Great place to sit and relax in the buzzing city.

Great social space. Industrial architecture reminds you that this is primarily still a civil infrastructure, not a tourist attraction. Other than the rooftop for flying kites & chilling, or even the views from the concrete dam, the design leaves much to be desired. The Brutalist like architecture is certainly not endearing.

Marina Barrage is a water reservoir that Barry the sea part and river part. The river part is famous for military rehearsal by driving huge long shipping along the river during national days. The sea part is make up for patrol or fual renovation for ship. This place is wonderful place at all time. Many people come there to take time with their beloved person or family. You can upload the kites. You can sleep on the green grass. If you go there in the evening , you can see the wonderful view of marina bay stand and flyer. I wanna recommend to you when you visit Singapore you shouldn't miss to go there.

Beautiful area for picnics, flying kites, enjoying the view over the Singapore skyline. During National Day Practice, this is a fantastic spot to watch the flyovers and the fireworks. Good infrastructure (toilets, water fountain, elevator...). Lots of space to run around. Close to Gardens by the Bay, easy to combine for a great day outdoors.

Marina barrage great for sun and open air! Nice greens, water and space for family activities or exercising. Now highly accessible via the TEL line Garden by the Bay. Could be crowded towards late afternoon and evening. There are restrooms, convenient stores and displays to learn more about Marina barrage as well as works by PUB.

Marina Barrage in Singapore is a unique architectural place that seamlessly combines functionality and beauty. Serving as a dam and recreational space, it offers a unique experience for both locals and tourists. The Barrage's sloping green roof provides breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline and Marina Bay. One of the most impressive aspects of Marina Barrage is its role in Singapore's water management system. By creating the Marina Reservoir and acting as a freshwater reservoir, it helps to prevent flooding in the city center and ensures a sustainable water supply. This commitment to sustainability is further showcased through its incorporation of solar panels and rainwater collection systems. From kite flying to picnicking and indulging in water sports, there's something for everyone. It's a wonderful place to unwind, soak in the picturesque surroundings, and create lasting memories with friends and family. The modern architectural design seamlessly integrates with the natural landscape, resulting in a harmonious and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're a nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a tranquil escape from the city, Marina Barrage is a must-visit destination. It offers a glimpse into Singapore's innovative approach to urban planning while providing an unforgettable experience that showcases the best of both nature and human ingenuity.

One of the best places to have a glimpse of the Singapore city skyline. Open spaces for all sort of activities. Kite flying there is a favorite. Best thing about it is it’s for free! Downside is it’s not too accessible unless u have a car

On a nice bright morning, this place is beautiful. You have to walk up or take the lift to the top. It is a VERY big viewing area...u hv 360 deg view of Spore skyline and the sea! Don't miss it. There is a drinks stall hidden on the ground floor. They also hv vending machines for drinks if the stall is closed. I notice not any people come up here to view. Many just miss it.

The most underrated recreational spot in all of Singapore. Has a killer view of the Singapore skyline, you can see Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Flyer, Gardens By The Bay. Bring a picnic mat, some drinks, and fly some kites and have a good time.

One of my favorite places in Singapore. If you go on a day with the best weather then can enjoy the best mood ever (might can be crowded). I usually go here for picnic or chill. If you go during day time, then the sun might be too strong unless the day is cloudy. Quite a lot of people come here to fly kite as well. At night, if you sit facing the Garden by the Bay then can see the super tree show.

Marina Barrage is a truly captivating place that offers a panoramic view of the city. The stunning vistas it provides are a photographer's dream. I've had the pleasure of capturing some remarkable landscapes from this vantage point. The combination of the cityscape, the reservoir, and the open sky creates a picturesque setting that's perfect for photography enthusiasts. It's not just a functional dam but also a haven for scenic beauty and artistic inspiration.

So much monies had been spent but a simple path towards toilet from carpark towards mid of this place cannot be made properly? The whole path was uneven and slanted aside. Easy for water movement? Channeling? Hopefully they could improve it. Maybe adding hand rails to assist those who have difficulties with walking.

A nice vantage point to view Singapore city centre skyline. Here you can see Gardens By The Bay Cloud Forest Dome & Flower Dome, the Marina Bay Sand towers and the Singapore Flyer. This is also a link where you can cycle/jog from Gardens By The Bay to Bay East and East Coast Park. The Marina Barrage is easily accessible by the MRT with the opening of Gardens By The Bay station.

pleasantly surprised that the mrt is so near by! don’t remember that when i came here a few years back did some picnicking with my friends. there isn’t a lot of cheap food nearby so had to bring from else where. went on a saturday and it was not as crowded as i thought, there were lots of people but still lots of space to play sports and fly kite. at night it gets pretty dark, don’t have any outdoor lightings. but the view is absolutely amazing. can’t wait to come back

A not so tourist-y spot in Singapore that you should visit if you want to relax and just enjoy the time! This place is also one of the go-to picnic places Singapore. Many locals go here to have a picnic and/or fly a kite! The structure is just amazing. You will be surprised to see a big lawn on a roof top! Very smart way of bring the buildings close to nature and maximing the space.
