Ironically, a poorly designed museum to display information on award winning design products. There are way too many posters! Whoever manages this place needs to rethink design and interaction of its audience. I was expecting more prototypes (actually product items) to be displayed. Might as well read from the website or book they publish. Also, there was no interactive display, which makes the visit very dull. You can’t touch any of the displayed items. The museum is quite small. We finished in about 30min-1hr. The gift shop is nice.

I was very disappointed to see that so many visitors just visited the museum shop, either to avoid paying the entrance fee or to get out of the heat. I'm no designer, but I found this museum very interesting and worth the price of admission. Many of the design icons within were iconic and interesting to read about. I've not come across such a museum anywhere else. The museum building itself is outstanding, and surrounded by some real monsters. Give it a try.

During my visit to Singapore and exploring its iconic locations, I came across this Red Dot Design Museum which showcase its innovative design, highlighting products that have received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. Located in the vibrant Marina Bay area, the museum offers a captivating journey through contemporary design, featuring diverse exhibits ranging from industrial goods to communication design. Renowned for its commitment to excellence, the Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore celebrates creativity and the impact of well-crafted design on our daily lives. It also has a small cafe which serves you with snacks and coffee and Juices ..

I did not go into the museum but stopped into the gift and coffee shop to escape the heat. Cute little place and the staff were so friendly and telling me of places to visit. I'm enjoying Singapore alot quieter than Tokyo...had the waffles and I'm not big on sweets but very delicious. Person next to me let snap a shot of their chocolate waffle, everyone is so nice here. Stop in for a quick sweet, coffee and water.

The architecture of the building itself is worth to visit. The public spaces around the building is undoubtedly commendable. The exhibition is, however, a great disappointment. It costs $10 per person, $5 from the price of the ticket is actually shop voucher, which you could use to buy anything except for the drinks and food in the museum. The exhibition is to me, not at all interesting. It's just very few display of product designs. I'd personally recommend you to visit the building and its surrounding spaces but NOT the exhibition. I'd actually skipped this place altogether if I were on a tight schedule.

2/16/2024 I and my families come in and shopping around this area, I think the location of this section is very convenient, close to the subway station MRT, there are many businesses and a variety of food to choose from. It's a great place to walk, eat, and shop. Very good choice! I like the environment and enjoy it. I like the museum and very surprising and happy when we are there.

Pretty cool museum showing lots of designs and how a common thing can be designed in different ways. You might see some familiar items here. Can easily spend 1-2 hours here if you read everything It’s free for Singaporeans, just let the counter know and show your Pink IC

Not sure why it's taken me so long to visit the Red Dot Design Museum, but a fantastic and fun visit today! Welcoming and friendly staff, great design ideas which are very well-presented. The cost of the ticket ($10) can even be put towards any item from the shop at the end of your visit, including food and drinks! What's not to like about that?! I'll definitely be back to visit again when the 2021 Red Dot Design Award winners have been announced.

Nice, new, mod building, better location & surroundings & though the overall space is actually smaller, it's fine as long as there's still good stuff on show, right? Sadly, not new & improved. Too much text, too few actual exhibits, let alone any to touch, hold, inspect other than gift shop products. I reckon most people who'd visited this museum at its previous location will agree - oh, this is such a disappointment! Hope this is only temporary & the format will change.

There was a wide variety of innovations made for all aspects of life from all around the world that are introduced. However, I feel that there should be more physical items or at least models of those items on display instead of boards explaining them. Despite so, I do recommend it to people who are interested in tech and design.

We visit using the Singapore Discovery Voucher for $10 per person and got 2 $11 voucher for food or sovenir as we visit on Thursday. It's worth the visit as we only pay $1.50 for the food after using those vouchers. It's small but worth your time.

Don't overlook this small museum. You could easily spend over two hours here if you were to view the exhibition thoroughly. Admission price includes gift shop and cafe coupons and a view book which will detail you through every piece. This museum goes beyond the physical aspect of design and invokes insight into the underlying humanitarianism under technology and creation

There wasn't much to see at the exhibition. Many of the award winning designs were not on display, which was disappointing. Instead, some of the walls were covered with design concept presentation prints, requiring visitors to read through numerous display boards. As a visual person, I had hoped to see the real objects (or at least 3D models) rather than just reading about them. Some of the displayed products were not in a working state, making it difficult to assess their functionality and performance. For instance, none of the lighting fixtures were turned on, so it was impossible to determine their design quality. Design should always prioritize function, so seeing non-functional light fixtures felt like looking at mere dummies. Despite the positive reviews this place had received, I was somewhat disappointed as it didn't meet my expectations.

The food and drinks are nice and the items in the gift shop are interesting! 2F physical display are interesting but a little lacking. Most are information display which is a little boring.

Interesting place n very tastefully done up. Like that it's not crowded as it's a very small museum. I won't be able to enjoy d ambience n exhibits if d place is crowded n noisy. Purchased d tickets with my SRV. Value-for-money to visit it during this period of time. *More for adults n older kids.

Nice place to see creative & awarded designs around the world. The museum is a little bit small so expect to read the printed descriptions more than seeing the actual products. The ticket can be exchanged into a cash voucher that you can use at the cafe/shop :)

A rather small but interesting museum. You can find innovative design awards in various categories such as medicine, automotive, electricity, hobby, kitchen, etc. There is a minimal entrance fee but half the price serves as a voucher for merchandise that you can use as a discount. Coffee shop also available inside. Nice to see if you are interested to see what’s in store for the future.

It's a bit disappointing. The museum is very small (maybe 30-60 minutes of exhibits to explore). There are very few physical objects of the award winners so the museum amounts to reading posters for each winner. I feel like more physical objects and videos demonstrating the designs in practice would have made the experience much better. Overall, unless you're a design fanatic I'd suggest going to other museums instead.

We visited the museum in July 2022. The overall experience was good. The museum is not very big and my wife and son liked it. The homepage says "Welcome to the World of Design". Inside we found one big shelf with signature designs from all over the world, which was expected. The other showcases are at least 50 - 60% Chinese designs, which was a bit unexpected for me. I thought I will see more diversity in the exhibits? I did not find any hint of a special ASIAN DESIGN EXHIBITION on their homepage.

If you like art and design. This is definitely a place to check out. They have latest updates of red dot design awards and have some classic best of best design award displays. Their gift shop full of fun and amazing little stuff. A must see place. They sell some desserts. And there’s a little kids playground right next to it.

This is a brilliant place to be for designers. Museum offers a captivating journey through innovative design. The curated exhibits showcase a diverse range of products, each telling a unique story of creativity and functionality. The minimalist layout enhances the overall experience, allowing visitors to appreciate the details of each design. Whether you're a design enthusiast or simply curious, the museum provides a visually engaging and thought-provoking exploration of the intersection between form and function. Also, some of these designs are sold at the outlet. Highly recommended

Personally paying $10 to be able to see so many cool and award winning designs is a bargain. Also very educational. Store is free and sells many interesting things. Seating outside has beautiful view of the river and marina bay financial district. One can easily spend a few hours here. Where else can u find Red Dot museums?

Very recommended to visit if you’re into product design or just unique miscellaneous. There’s an entrance fee but you can explore the museum store for free, they have a wide range of curated products. The park outside the building is nice and breezy, we took our time to sit down there and enjoy the view of the Singapore river and Marina Bay Sands.

An intriguing museum highlighting all that is beautiful in the modern world as well as possible future innovations. The entrance fee includes a comprehensive guidebook which describes everything on display. Not best suited to those with very small children there is, nevertheless, a small interactive display upstairs which is suitable for children of primary school age. The cafe and shop are a bit pricey so best avoided otherwise the Red Dot Design Museum is a great way to pass an hour or so.

I wish the items are a bit cheaper and in the museum I wish there are more. The creations were great. What I like the most is the 500 pens. I also like the staff they are very accommodating. I'm giving 4 of 5 since this needs to be improved. Good job Red Dot Design Museum.

Really cool museum, has a very futuristic design. If you're interested in post modern design / tech design, it's definitely worth checking out. The sedition on Google's design was a personal highlight. It's a smaller museum, but very well curated. Has a nice café downstairs too. The staff were excellent and very friendly to boot.

It was a very creative museum. The location was very nice with the view straight to the bay. Inside, it was small museum showing new technology of the world, new creations of the world such as the sport suits, phones, smart stuff for the house, headphones, etc... It was very nice to walk around and to be able to touch things in the museum

(Translated by Google) I bought a free Red Dot ticket (laughs) for buying a ticket to Gardens by the Bay on kkday (laughs), and the time was good, so I visited the Red Dot Design Museum. When I first arrived, I was really scared. I wanted to say that it was too small (laughs) Although the Red Dot Design Museum is small, the design works displayed in it are quite interesting. It is recommended to visit slowly on the second floor, you can look at the designer's concept, there are many interesting and interesting works. After shopping, you can go downstairs to see if you want to buy a gift or you can have a cup of coffee. Although it is a small sparrow, it has all the attractions. If you are free or get free tickets like us, you can come and visit. (Basically in the same area as Marina Bay, you can walk all together) (Original)

Being a design museum I would expect the museum is also a show case but it's just a badly designed building and even the toilet was so badly designed that you need to open the toilet door by pulling the bag hanger!

I love good design and I loved this museum. You have to pay $6.40 as a non national (minimum charge) but if you slip for a few dollars more you get a little gift (mine was a choice of a nice metal pin) and know you are supporting the place a bit more. Everyone who pays gets $6 in vouchers back (4 for the store and 2 for the cafe) The displays aren't huge and are mostly themed poster boards (not made of paper!) With the occasional real object. But it was still excellent I found myself wishing for an indicator on reach item description letting me know if it was actually available to buy. I spent a good bit of time googling around as I went. The cafe was excellent, the neat cubes of food were a visual and taste delight. Like any design / museum shop, the stuff in it is lovely but ain't cheap.

A very limited option in this place, I thought I would see more but it was really small & mostly printed posters of designs which I thought was useless. You can tour the whole place in 10min so not sure if it’s worth the visit. This can possibly be an online virtual tour instead!

Red dot design museum is truly unique. The products here have quality design. There are products that never seen before and it adds a different touch to your daily life due to its quality design. Amazing place and I will come back here. Oh and is a cafe too so great place to chill out!

Nice building but super small exposition with almost nothing to see, the information on display is no more than available on the website. It's a pity 'cause the design and info is still great and it's really inspiring. It might be a slightly better experience if you have not visited Red Dot Museum in Germany before.

Amazing ambience and curated products within the shop space. Thought it was a really interesting collection. Museum exhibits wise, quite eye opening designs and prototypes. The staff were really friendly as well! Would recommend to those who are into product design and concepts particularly!

    Highly recommend if you love meaningfully designed products! The red dot concept exhibition also showcases many cool ideas, including many accessible designs. Tickets are $10, including a $5 voucher that is easy to use as many products hard to resist (;

It’s a compact exhibition with inspiring products. However safe for a window wall with objects it’s mostly nothing but posters. Safe the 10$ and look at the website instead.

It’s my first time visiting the Red Dot Design Museum which is very near my office. It has many beautiful things on display and sale here, and also reminds me of the days when I used to visit the National Design Centre. As I am always very interested in unique and beautiful stuffs, I’m very impressed and fascinated by this place. Will surely recommend my friends to visit this place in future. 👍

It's a nice place for people who like product/industrial design. They display a red dot award winning design. But i think it's "just like this?" Also in the lobby they sell a cute and unique product. If you buy a ticket, you can get a S$10 voucher to buy products in here. And i bought a cubebot micro. It's so cute!

The Red Dot Museum is a unique exhibition space that showcases a variety of products that have won the prestigious Red Dot award. While the museum displays a significant number of Red Dot awarded products, many of them are presented as 2D displays, with few opportunities to see the actual products up close. This lack of interactivity may be disappointing for some visitors, as the actual products are often displayed behind glass cases, which can be a bit limiting. Despite this, the museum still offers a fascinating and worthwhile experience, with a wide range of design products on display, from consumer electronics to furniture to kitchen gadgets. Visitors can appreciate the sleek and innovative designs of the products, and gain insight into the design process behind them. The building itself has a bit of a temporary feel, with its simple, minimalist design and industrial-looking architecture. However, the space is still functional and well-suited for its purpose, with clean and modern interiors that complement the design products on display.

Lot of unique designs. Very creative ideas. There is a free area where you can experience the products and even buy them. There is a paid museum area which we didn't try as we were short on time

Going in, I was already aware that it’s a very reading heavy museum. But even I felt overwhelmed and tired. Lack interaction and interesting ways to learn about the winners of the red dot. Eg: there was some of the actual items of the winners. But most were behind glass and cannot be touched or tried on- even the winning furnitures could not be sat on. There was only… 3-5 winners that had a TV showing a video demo on their product. The rest (maybe 100 exhibits in total?) was all text and photos. A lot of potential to be a great museum to inspire creativity and innovation. Hope the museum can improve.

Wonderful place! It's extremely interesting to walk around and see all the things people have created. And it's so creative and awesome what people come up with in ideas. A lot of exhibitions here could be life changing if used more in the real world.

Affordable entrance fee of $10 and lots of cool design gadgets to check out. 2 floors so relatively compact but good place to kill time or take refuge from the heat 😁

I love this place, you gotta come see for yourself, it's pay as you wish for Singaporeans and they have amazing products with amazing aesthetics and function there, I love design

A great interactive space downstairs and informative design information. As a teacher of design, I loved seeing the ideas and designs around the world

Super interesting store on first floor with local goods and international goods with a slant on high-quality designed items. Upstairs small but cool gallery of roughly 200 well-designed items, winners in all categories. 10$ admission to museum for one, gets you 5$ back at store. store also has food and drink and nice indoor/outdoor seating.

Very small space compared to their previous building. A great chunk of the winning products aren't on display, replaced with a descriptive poster instead. It started of interesting but became quite tiring to read through those paragraphs, especially without the objects present. The museum part itself is kinda disappointing, but the café provides a really nice spot to shelter from Marina Bay's scorching heat.

Such an inspiring and innovative experience. We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a different and unique activity. The staff are friendly and courteous and add to the appeal. The cafe is moderately priced and if you leave a review, you can receive a free non alcoholic beverage.
