Straight
up
5
stars
here
based
on
my
first
(and
so
far
only)
experience
here.
The
Botanic
sits
where
Salt
Tapas
&
Bar
used
to
be,
and
I
was
slightly
bummed
when
I
found
out
Salt
was
gone
-
mainly
because
it
was
a
usual
hangout
for
me
and
a
couple
of
friends
over
some
cheese,
wine
and
oysters.
But
The
Botanic
did
not
disappoint
either.
I'm
rating
this
place
5
stars
based
on
service,
food,
atmosphere
and
price
-
granted
nothing
is
perfect,
and
I
would
rate
it
4.5
stars
if
there
exist
such
options,
but
oh
wells,
round
that
up
to
5
stars
anyway.
Service
-
my
friend
and
I
were
served
by
a
caucasian
waiter.
He
was
the
kind
of
waiter
that
is
friendly,
meek,
attentive
and
always
very
willing
to
help.
Even
though
my
friend
and
I
were
sat
outside
at
a
pretty
'negligible'
corner,
he
never
failed
to
notice
us
whenever
we
needed
service.
Food
-
we
ordered
2
starters
and
2
mains.
Starters
would
be
the
Tuna
Ceviche
and
the
Scotch
Egg,
while
the
mains
are
the
Grilled
Sirloin
and
the
Lamb
Shoulder.
I
wasn't
impressed
by
the
tuna
ceviche,
I
mean
it
was
good,
but
it
wasn't
memorable.
I
was
pleased
with
the
scotch
egg,
but
it
wasn't
mind
blowing
either.
What
impressed
me
was
the
main
dishes
-
the
sirloin
was
cooked
to
the
right
doneness
(medium
rare),
and
the
sides
of
root
vegetables
complimented
it
well.
The
lamb
was
also
very
impressive,
and
mind
you,
I
am
always
apprehensive
about
lamb
due
to
how
easy
it
is
to
mess
up
the
dish
with
the
typical
pungent
taste,
but
this
one
is
really
done
well.
It
was
a
slow-cooked
shoulder,
so
it
falls
off
the
bone
easily,
and
while
I
won't
exaggerate
that
it
"melts
in
the
mouth",
it
was
still
very
tender
and
delicious.
Atmosphere
-
its
a
nice
place,
but
also
very
casual.
No
pressure
even
if
you
walked
in
with
t-shirt,
shorts
and
flip-flops,
which
was
what
I
did.
We
sat
outdoor,
so
inevitably
there
will
be
noise
from
the
road,
but
it
was
a
very
negligible
"problem"
-
you
can
always
choose
to
sit
indoor.
Price
-
remember
I
said
earlier
I
would
give
it
4.5
stars
instead
of
5
stars
if
I
could?
I'm
deducting
0.5
simply
because
of
the
price.
It
wasn't
expensive
-
the
total
sum
of
those
4
dishes
were
somewhere
between
$110
to
$120
-
but
it's
not
exactly
the
price
where
I
can
go
every
weekend.
We
didn't
even
order
any
drinks
and
it
came
up
to
about
$55-$60
per
person.
Nonetheless,
I'd
rather
pay
this
amount
and
be
satisfied,
than
to
go
for
cheaper
options
and
be
disappointed.
