First time at il Cielo with the family for the set lunch before some last minute Christmas shopping along Orchard Road. We really enjoyed the warm and attentive service from start to finish. The food was simple Italian dishes done right. Tasted like having a wholesome home-cooked meal, but definitely not fine dining. It's not an extensive menu, so between our party of four ordering 4 courses each, we've managed to taste everything available for the set lunch. Not good enough for me to go back, but wouldn't mind a return visit if there's a new menu. The restaurant is small, so it feels intimate, but the location in front of the pool is not great, as hotel guests will have to walk past the restaurant to access the pool. Some of the guests include screaming children, and people who enjoy watching other people eat, which can be a little bit uncomfortable.

Comparing this to places like Monti, the food at il Cielo is very unpretentious and brought us back many fond memories of Italy. The presentation of food was remarkable, almost like an work of art and prepared to perfection. They do not only look nice, taste nice and the portion were not skimpy - just like how the Italians would do it. Prices here are very reasonable for the quality of food and we would definitely revisit again.

Food is alright, flavours are all good but nothing too spectacular. The seafood in the calamari platter was fresh, no weird tastes. Pizza is on the average side. Crab pasta tasted like the non-spicy version of chilli crab which is quite unique. Would say the fish was the best. The fish itself is roasted very well and also love the layered potatoes. Overall, felt that it was Italian cuisine tailored to the Singaporean palate. Also, the restaurant is understaffed, there was only two service-crew serving everyone. Atmosphere-wise, it’s on the top level of the hotel but there’s no views of anything. It was basically a poolside restaurant with the occasional crying / screaming of kids and babies in the pool. Would only recommend if you are hotel guest or looking for a casual restaurant in the area.

We dined here on Christmas night, and had the ala carte buffet menu. While the decor of this restaurant was spartan, the impeccable service by Janson Yong and his crew, combined with the great tasting items, made this a 5-star experience. We appreciated the attention and care they put into the dining experience, and providing an off-menu assortment of desserts when they found out we were celebrating our mom’s birthday. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered, from the entire list of appetizers to the pastas and pizza. They also have a decent selection of great vegetarian dishes.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Il Cielo at Voci, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. This Italian restaurant truly captures the essence of simple yet authentic Italian cuisine. I was impressed by the staff attentive and prompt service. We were celebrating my son's birthday with a family lunch at Il Cielo and they accommodated our request for a special celebration by presenting my son with a delicious dessert treat. It was a heartwarming touch that made the occasion even more special and memorable for us. Memories for the birthday boy. Their freshly baked pizza was our favourite. Il Cielo's menu does offers a variety of options, and I was tempted to try more dishes, but the pizza left such a lasting impression that I couldn't resist ordering it again on my next visit. This place is a true gem for those who appreciate the beauty of simplicity and authenticity in Italian cuisine in a warm and inviting quiet atmosphere. Grazie mille, Il Cielo, for a wonderful dining experience!

1-Michelin Star restaurant. Superb service and hospitality. Simple, quiet and classy ambience. Chef came out just to say hello to us and we had a great chat. The taste was exquisite with complexity of taste. I sense that the Chef has out in much effort and pride in his food. They used expensive and fresh ingredients. They gave us a complimentary tiramisu dessert with the well wishes ‘All The Best’ written on the plate. Such a thoughtful gesture. It added delight to my dining experience. I ordered both the 5-course Italian tasting menu and 5-source Japanese tasting menu which cost $138++ for each set. Citibank credit card enjoyed 20% discount which was a huge saving.

I have booked this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday, and it proved to be an excellent choice. I have booked a table for 2 via their online booking system, and shortly after receiving the confirmation, someone from the restaurant called me to check if there's any special event. I told her that it's for my wife's birthday and she happily replied that they will be arranging something special for her. Quite a nice touch without me asking for something to be arranged. When we are at the restaurant, the staffs are super attentive to our needs and clearly explained every food that they served us. We ordered one Italian Degustation set and one Japanese Degustation set to share between us, and added the wine pairing for the Italian Degustation set. The food are really good and well presented, especially we really enjoyed their signature Cappellini Burroe Timo (generous portions of lobsters with capellini and many large flakes of black truffle) and Spaghetti ai Ricci di Mare (delicious sea urchins on spaghetti, and hint of Yuzu sauce). Kudos to Sarah and Chef Sasaki, and remarkable service from Didacus, Boh Li and Cai Ying who have made this birthday dinner such a memorable one for my wife.

You can only pay by AMEX card for now as they claimed that the more common Visa and Mastercard machine was down for maintenance until further notice. The set lunch menu was great and reasonably price (maybe due to the COVID situation?). I actually loved all my choices especially the roasted lamb. It was tender and juicy. The service staffs were polite and professional and the wines recommended for our set lunch was perfect (albeit expensive). They served free cold tap water too, superb!

I was here about 10 years ago and had the most amazing seared salmon. Since then I've wanted to come back. I did so this year on my birthday oh, and the food was exceptional. So much innovation in the flavors, texture, and presentation of the food. Everything was beautifully plated, the staff showed exceptional service. My partner wanted a cocktail which was not on the menu, however the staff did not say no, they went to the kitchen did a bit of research and came back to suggest what they could offer. I've never seen service like that. The chef also took time to come out to interact with the diners. The small intimate restaurant gave it a really nice ambience , really cosy, really quiet which was what I wanted for an evening out.

Every aspect of every dish was immaculately curated. Service was friendly, professional and discreet. Portions were perfect for a date, and every bite more satisfying than the last. The chef even came out to chat, confirming the freshness of the uni and making recommendations for our next visit! I cannot recommend enough: The uni pasta, scallops, wagyu short rib, and the lime sorbet. Worth every cent and calorie, we can't wait to return!

Visited the restaurant for the first time after it was rebranded as Voco. Excited to try since we had read really good reviews, but we were a little disappointed. Maybe our expectations were too high? The food was decent but we found some dishes under seasoned. Dessert could be better. Wine was good, as recommended by the manager. Service is friendly and servers tried to please. Ambience is pleasant and looks out to the pool. Good for corporate events I guess if they can get their dishes up to par. Not sure if I'd go back but perhaps try for lunch as I don't think dinner was worth the pricetag.

Although it is a Michelin star restaurant, it does not really live up to its name in terms of ambience and food. Although it is a “rooftop” restaurant, all you get to see is the swimming pool. There is no view of the city. My companion and I are not impressed with the quality of food. The Uni pasta smelt fishy and the combination was not great. There was nothing memorable about the food. Yet, the price befits a five-star hotel restaurant. I doubt I will go back there.

food was not too bad, but despite the posh setting and atmosphere, the staff were not well trained. i don’t think you are supposed to clear the dish when we have not been seated for more than 45 mins and this is inclusive of food waiting time. i felt abit annoyed that the waiter kept clearing my food even though we literally did not ask. and i think it’s basic etiquette to wait for us to ask for the bill or for us to order dessert then you start to clear the table, because it just seems that the staff can’t wait to chase us out. basically i couldn’t enjoy myself and i find it unpleasant because the prices were not the cheapest too. but the positive side is that the food were really not too bad especially the duck pasta. but yeah probably won’t come back again haha

I was there with my family last evening to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We were pleasantly surprised to be ushered to a private room which has a warm and homely vibe. Janson recommended a few of their signatures from their menu. Very impressed by his personal and attentive service that made our dining experience a most memorable one. He even surprised us with a birthday cake dessert! The food was alright but below our expectations. Overall, we were satisfied with the service and ambience.

Tiramisu - portion was larger than expected - super sweet from the cookie bits (it felt like I was biting sugar) - thick cream and slightly dry in overall (lack of moisture from the lady fingers) Pizza was ok. Roasted Potato (under salad) - it tasted slightly bland but with the sauce, it’s ok. Just thought they should have some lettuce to go with it as it can feel very overwhelming after awhile - didn’t taste roasted either… Fritto Misto - pretty good esp pairing it with their lemon aioli (like lemongrass, refreshing!) - can feel quite gelat when it got cold (my bad for not finishing it fast as all the food came about the same timing!) I’ve booked this place for my partner’s birthday but there was no surprise dessert for my partner despite stating my reason for coming while making a reservation. Other tables had surprise dessert though! As we’d opted for sparkling water upon seating, it came in 1L San Pellegrino for us. Waiters didn’t assist to refill our cup unlike some high end restaurants even though they weren’t that busy. We weren’t charged for the sparkling water… not sure if it was being waived, or it was complimentary to begin with. (They do sell 100ML but not 1L) Overall experience was… so-so. Felt better with the 15% discount by using citi card. It felt like the lady manager only talks to big group of people/ rich looking people. The Japanese (or Korean) waiter was better!

Love the ambience of this roof top bar as well as the service received! Thank you Cai Ying, Jeremy and Owen for the exceptional services during my dinner at il Cielo, thank you for making it easy and enjoyable for me and my 5 year old son. Special mention to Cai Ying, who was especially attentive to all my needs and food recommendations were superb (look at the photos!) Of course, thank you to Chef Marco and Chef Beh Li for making my foodie son crave for the food even more after we left the restaurant. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking to have a quiet evening with pool and view of Orchard! Do try the Burrata Purgilese and the Tiramisu! These 2 are my favourites!

Came here to celebrate my parents anniversary and the food was really pleasant. We shared the Fritto Miso which was light and tasty, and I had the trota salmonata, which was also very delicious. Their tiramisu portions are so generous and it was so decadent: light, creamy and addictive. They surprised us with a pudding for the anniversary and it was very thoughtful and speaks to their great service. The staff were attentive and made sure we were comfortable. Will definitely recommend friends to visit this place!

6 course dinner that came with a room that was unspeakably inexpensive. The flavor of the food was somewhat confusing, buried in a alot of sauces that were used in different dishes repeatedly. The service, however, was stellar which made the evening memorable.

Had dinner for 6 in mid June. Food was great and service was impeccable. Overall dining experience was less rooftop and more al fresco since the view is mainly of the pool. Would recommend the burrata and truffle pizza, iberian roast pork ribs and tiramisu! We ordered the: 3/5 Affumicata (smoked salmon pizza) - a little too salty 5/5 Burrata e Tartufo (burrata and truffle pizza) - crowd favourite, pizza was more of the doughy kind which I don't usually prefer but it worked very well with the flavours. Truffle cream came through and it paired very well with the burrata cheese! 5/5 Costine di Maiale (Iberian roast pork ribs) - tender and well seasoned, definitely one of the better pork ribs I had -/5 Tagliolini al Granchio (crab pasta) - I don't take spice (hence the non-rating) but my family thought that it was really good 0/5 Basque Cheesecake (pistachio basque burnt cheesecake) - a solid 3/5 if they just called it a pistachio cheesecake since the flavours were okay. Texturally though, it's NOT a basque burnt cheesecake and I didn't appreciate it being sold as such. 5/5 Tiramisu - frankly, delicious!

Was surprised at the value of money for set lunch. 48 dollar for a beautiful 4-course meal, from which you can get wagyu salad as appetizer, sea urchin pasta and medium done lamb as main and cheese platter as dessert to wrap up. Food was elegantly made; I especially enjoyed the tender lamb and wagyu salad! The staff are very friendly, and chef even came out to greet every table which is very heartfelt. (And thank you for the birthday surprise!) We’d love to come back again for tasting menu!

Very lovely ambience and hospitable team. Very value for money for the 3 course executive set lunch at Orchard area. The only downside was the braised angus beef that I felt was a slight miss on the savory note. Go for the sea bream instead! The sword fish and chip and soup were very commendable. They pay very close attention to the food detailing design and everything was nicely plated too. Highly recommend this place if you are around this area.

On 25 Dec 2023, we went to ILCielo for their Festive À La Carte Buffet Lunch. There were 22 items of food and 4 items of desserts to choose from. As we were a party of 8, we tried most of the items. Many of the food items were delicious. We like most of the items of desserts too. The service by Hamiza was exceptional. He was attentive and served with a heart and a smile. As there were 8 of us, we were given the only private room available. The ambience and the view from the room were fantastic, and we had privacy too. Finally, my reservation and payment were handled by Caiying prior to the lunch. She did an excellent job, as there were no mistakes and no miscommunication. Thanks, Caiying for pleasantly surprising us by reserving the private room for us. We hope to return soon.

Had the wagyu beef tartar, crab pasta and mojito lunch set. Overall, felt like I had overpaid for the meal and will unlikely ever come back. Beef tartar looked like an explosion happened (see pics), while the wagyu didn't really stand out much. The pasta felt like it was undercooked udon with the sauce pretty meh. Mojito dessert was a blend of sweet and sour with the pudding being a tad too sweet and looked like pudding that didn't set quite well. Ambience was cool and chill until a bunch of tai tais came in and turned the place into a family restaurant.

Early this month, we took an opportunity to check out Il Cielo during lunch time, and went for the 4 course lunch set, a steal at $48++. Service was attentive and hospitable, and the place was clean and well-spaced out (perhaps due to the safe distancing measures). Appetizers were beautifully plated and well-balanced in their flavours. we had Tajima wagyu beef tartar and pan roasted foie gras. The poached egg added a richness to the waygyu beef tartar and the fried wild rice puffs added a nice crunch and texture to the dish. The foie gras was crispy on the outside and super smooth on the inside, and was well-balanced by the balsamic cream and crispy brioche. The plating and flavours of the appetizers set a high bar for the rest of the meal. We ordered penne with basil pest cream sauce and spaghetti with mixed seafood tomato sauce ragout. When we were served the pasta course, they looked uninspiring until we tucked into it and were wowed by the well executed sauces. The cream sauce coated the penne very lightly, and the addition of basil pesto added a touch of freshness to the sauce. The tomato sauce ragout was wetter than expected but chock full of the mixed seafood. Loved the deep fried baby squid which accompanied the pasta. The mains were a bit of a disappointment though. We had pan-fried ocean trout and pan roasted veal loin. The trout was dry and overcooked, while the veal loin was overwhelmed by the use of beetroot in puree and powder form. The beetroot powder were scattered around the plate in big clumps (as shown in the picture) and the wine sauce ran everywhere which made the dish look messy and unappetising. The dessert course of the Varlhona chocolate lava cake was really good. It was rich and velvety, while the raspberry sorbet provided a nice counterpoint with its tartness. However, the messiness in plating continued into the dessert course. The strawberry sauce which was splattered artfully as a base for the lava cake found its way onto the cheese platter. I couldn't detect any truffle flavour in the honey but that wasn't an issue since I am not a fan of truffles All in, I would say it was still a pretty good meal, with a well-planned menu using quality ingredients. Perhaps what we experienced was just a blip.

Our 2021 Christmas Eve dinner is at @ilcielo at Hilton Singapore. Part of the reason was that our staycation was at Hilton Singapore + it is a cosy small poolside openair restaurant. The place is fantastic for this festive dining, diners receive a lot of attention from the servers since there are only a couple of tables and food arrives at a steady rate. Appetizers were "fun" with savoury and sweet, the sweet prawn was a bit "lonely", it definitely can do with a more tangy sauce. The foie gras with eel were very flavorful Pasta with crab bisque, toss the pasta into a roll and dip it into the crab pond! Lots of flavour and very fun. Spanish mackerel was tender with crispy skin and well seasoned, one of my favourite dish. Miyazaki Wagyu beef with foie gras gelato was simply amazing! I have no idea how he created the sweet cold gelato with foie gras, it is surprisingly delicious. Mochi with strawberry gelato to end the dinner was a sweet ending to a lovely Christmas eve night. Rating: 9/10 A good place for a couple dinner! #hilton #sg #ilcielo #dinner #christmas #foiegras #eel #prawn #meat #beef #fish #simonlew80 #simonlew #foodreview #food #review #simonreview #poolside #gelato #wagyu #crab #pasta #unagi #modernjapanese

(Translated by Google) The taste and service of the food was very disappointing, probably because the Japanese chef was absent. (Original) 日本人シェフが不在だったせいか、料理の味もサービスも大変残念だった。

The food is good but the glare from the poolside was not easy to bear throughout the lunch.

Marvelous service and delicious food. My favourite is the Mozeralla cheese with Parma ham and greens starter. The chef Mr Sasaki personal came to say hi. Wonderful dining experience.

called the restaurant; closed and no one ever picks up. called hilton's main line; i had to wait a good 10 minutes before anyone at reception responded and picked up. THEN, they told me to go check with queries at the restaurant itself since the hotel staff DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING. i wanted to make a reservation at Il Cielo and hilton staff ASKED ME TO GO make a reservation MYSELF by WHATSAPPING the restaurant instead of taking a message. DISGUSTING service.

5 star service and gourmet. While we didn't take pictures of the lovely food served, every plate is an art. We have the Italian and Japanese set with one pairing of wines. Highly recommend for those who enjoy culinary journey! Thank you Chef Sasaki, Disacus, Cai Ying, Jasmine and Sarah!

Dropped by for lunch on a weekend while on staycation. Opted for the 3-course set meal and ordered: 1) Cream of mushroom soup 2) Pan Roasted Duck Breast 3) Gelato of the day All the food was rather good, if not spectacular. Portion was on the smaller side (so perhaps the 4 course set meal would have been a better option for me). To be honest, nothing really blew me away during the set lunch, though it was somewhat of good value. If I do return, I would perhaps go for the ala carte menu instead.

Delicious food. Went for the 4 course weekday set lunch. Recommended dishes: Foie Gras, Sea urchin pasta, Grilled Angus Beef and Panna cotta. Service was excellent too. Expected damage: $45 - 80 per pax.

Our first fine dining dinner date after the dine out measures (for fully vaccinated peeps) kicks in. Thanks to the hubby for planning this surprise belated birthday treat as we couldn’t dine out during July. They had 2-3 types of set menu and we decided on the Italian menu. I would say that for the price of $148++ , price is pretty reasonable for a 5 course dinner. We added a bottle of wine at $70. Each type of amuse bouche taste great and we were particularly fascinated with the Foie Gras Macarons, something that we tried for the first time. The first course was the burrata cheese and what is special about this dish is their uniquely homemade balsamic butter which is unavailable elsewhere! Both the husband and I were then blown away by the chicken mousse served with lettuce, a dish full of essence and flavour. The lobster capellini with truffle was divine, we enjoyed the fresh and juicy bites of lobster. For mains, husband opted for the squid while I opted for the duck breast. All dishes were good and the desserts were lovely too! Great food accompanied by the lovely view of the Hilton’s rooftop pool, perfect for a romantic night. Highly recommended for special occasions.

Great place. Loved the sea bass appetizer, the pasta and the beef. The place is small and quiet, suitable for special occasions. The friendly chef greeted everyone towards the end of the meal and takes pride in his dishes. Would highly recommend.
