The room is terrible and it has bed bugs everywhere! It also has foul smell and I think the room hasn't been cleaned before we arrived. It's also the reason why my relatives got bed bugs when they came home because the bed wasn't clean and filled with insects. We collected so many bed bugs because of the UNHYGIENIC practices this hotel is doing. VERY DISAPPOINTING, ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! THANKS FOR NOTHING!

Recently stayed here and it was terrible, I arrived 1 am , otherwise I would directly book another hotel. I had to clean the room because there was hair and stain everywhere. I even found a some bugs in breakfast area. Definitely not clean at all.

I'm seeing some of the reviews saying that it is clean and nice but I think that depends on the room you get. The lobby is very clearly dirty and old and the room we were in had bugs and was very cramped. Also our AC was not working which was very annoying. Also our room had no shower curtain so everything in the washroom is wet after a shower, including the toilet that is NEXT to the shower. I guess if you want a cheap price and don't care too much then go for it but if you're used to normal hotels then this is not for you.

Stayed here with my family for two nights this past month. The price:location value is great. Everything else about the hotel: B A D. I’d suggest to fork a little extra SGD for something better.

This is the dirtiest place I have ever been. As soon I stepped into the hotel, I smelled a repugnant strong musty smell. The staff is very polite, though.

Hotel had a smell. Room wasn't really clean when we checked in. House-keeping did not clean or replace towels (booked for 2 days). There was also a cockroach in the room! Overall, for the price paid, it was not worth it at all.

They have quite cute rooftop, nice view. You can drink some beer there. Near Songfa restaurant (open from 10.30 a.m), quite close to Clarke Quay. Very good location.

Hotel wasn't clean. I opened the mini bar to find milk and the fridge had a horrible stench. Hotel has a old european place deco but found pests, cockroaches at the reception and stuff. Unsure why but I had a feeling of being watched

Very old and rundown hotel. Staff here are more courteous than Jayleen Clarke Quay hotel. Lots of ants inside the room. Ants come out fm everywhere. Victoria hotel at Victoria St is definitely a much better choice in terms of prices, location, cleanliness, service & room comfort. Their long stay price is really very very good and staff are more professional and helpful.

The rooms are good. But the main thing is service. The only people in the whole city who were so welcoming and friendly and were helpful to us. Eric, Irene and Christina, those guys are lovely, they helped us a lot. A shoutout to the owner as well for allowing us to use the pc there. Very good hospitality. Will miss you all guys. Looking forward to visit u again.

Great location near Raffles Place and Clarke Quay. Some reception staff not very friendly. Checked in at 10pm, paid cash. Cleaning and maintenance staff are excellent. They do have lots of ants so avoid bringing food into the room. We had one room for 3 adults but it was equipped for 5 people except it was very cramped with the double bed and two bunk beds. They have a little fridge and kettle. No hairdryer. They've got a very nice rooftop where you can have drinks or food. Hygiene is questionable as there was hair from other guests in the fridge and bathroom. Our toilet overflowed and leaked at times. The bathroom door didn't close, I suppose the heat expanded the wood. We had a room facing the street so you can hear music and chatter from bar below but it didn't bother me too much. Consider a room at the back if you are a light sleeper.

Customer service really good. Emailed them to get early check in and received almost immediate response. Checked in smoothly. Place has a vintage decor that takes you back in time. You can see that the rooms are visibly run down, wood floors split, grime and dust balls on walls and ceiling. Bed is uncomfortable and you can see it's the movable kind. There were some stains on the sheets when we arrived as well. That aside, the other things were great! There was a safe box, weighing scale, large wardrobe, bidet. Toilet was the cleanest (haha), towels fresh and the soap smells great. It was a rather alright if you can't find another place to stay at. We enjoyed ourselves here, it was homely and quiet. If you ever check in here, do check out their view at the rooftop!

My review was deleted so posting again. This is the worst accommodation I have ever been. Upon entering the lobby, I can sense the building is not maintained. The wallpaper started peeling and there’s an odor that travels through the hallway and the rooms. The bedsheets were dirty and I could it wasn’t washed. There’s not a separate shower per se, it is separated from the rest of the bathroom by a curtain. The water splashed all over the bathroom. Stay away from this place!

It's a great money-for-value place for staying. The location is in the CBD and you get room service every day.

Decent. Relatively clean but hotel smells. Room is generally clean but there's a few items like the mirror that has not been cleaned before of after I arrived. Small ant like bugs in the rooms and the common areas. The elevator has air fresheners that stink badly and the hallways stink, makes me want to throw up. The rooms smell somewhat like those scents and the soap smell more than usual and is not pleasant. Never seen a hotel stink this bad. Old dirty chairs and lack of upkeep. Location fairly good. Breakfast okay. Room-sized okay. Safe in room. Not really nice but usable.

If your looking for cheap and no frills this will work. Old hotel. Can hear people in the hallway. Bathroom smells like sewer. Very, very small room and bathroom. Bed extremely hard and pillows were less than desirable. Breakfast was gross:(

Small but comfortable room, cleaned daily, proper linen. Being heritage property some discounting can be done. Good budget place

Jayleen 1918 is a good hotel. But this place can be much better. There is no dedicated room service. Also getting connected to wifi (which has become a basic necessity nowadays) is a big hassle. Locality is quite decent. Breakfast was pretty decent. Lobby has a piano which is an added bonus off a musician like me. Visited Singapore for a vacation week. So all in all a pretty decent experience. But experience in the hotel can get much better.

A great hotel to stay at the heart of the city! Very convenient place it's near every local tourist destinations. Plus they do have a very warm and friendly staff. They will assist you full time from check in to check out as well as with recommendations for your trip. The food options for breakfast are not very wide though so I suggest that you just explore the location and have your breakfast outside instead. But nevertheless, we still had a good stay! That's why I'm giving it a 5 star!

A hotel in which its pros outweigh its cons. Priced reasonably, cleanliness is A+ and loved the colonial vibes it elicits. What's more, it's located near Clarke Quay. Great access to all the bus stops and MRT stations too. Staff are really friendly as well. Cons? I'm afraid there aren't any. Definitely a hotel to be considered whenever you visit Singapore!

Good location for bars and restaurants. Many of them open late into the early hours. Variety of cuisines. Some of them show live sports. Came here for a school reunion gathering

Some might detect a charm. The flair is drab - oxymoronic yes. But true charm needs work creativity and flair.

I booked this hotel through Agoda for a short staycation in advance for 17-19 december at the neighbouring Jayleen hotel. Received a text from the manager that they have shifted me to their neighbouring hotel Jayleen 1918 instead. Emailed if it is possible to check in early as we are coming from our night shift. Then received an email from Michelle Yap front desk officer that it is not possible. I just agreed to check in as per usual since our request was not possible. Received another email saying that my booking ID is not in their system and that they are fully booked?!? And to find another accomodation. What do u mean its not in the system when its stated booking confirmed in Agoda and ur manager Mr James Chong even texted me about it. Decided to just cancel it on Agoda. Totally unhappy, no proper explanation either. Will never book this place again and wont recommend it to anyone either.

My fiance and I stayed for one month. The staff was great, everything was very good had no problems with anything. For the price you can't go wrong and the location was very good. I would like to thank our room service person and his staff, always did a wonderful job and was fun to talk to. And Special thanks to Anna... She was awesome and a wonderful person that we felt very"at home" with her, she went out of her way for us. Thank you Anna and hope to see you soon.

Kaylee 1918 is a great value when staying in the downtown area. Excellent hot breakfast, included when prebooking, we were pleasantly surprised to have such a good breakfast. Location can't be beat, close to everything a tourist would want. Room was compact but still larger than any other budget hotel we have experienced. Room very comfortable and quiet. Bed was all foam and extremely comfortable. All amenities found in pricier hotels were there. Desk, safe for valuables, nice bath mirrors, etc. Very nicely done. One of by the best parts was the staff. All First Class in terms of service, friendliness and professionalism. No doubt we will stay here again next time we visit beautiful Singapore. Highly recommend hotel.

Terrible!!! Never stay at this hotel!!! Disgusting rooms full of mold, dirty, hair and the doors are not even working. My family left our password and money inside and the door won't open. We told the host guy about it but he didn't even care about it! Very bad service, breakfast and other meals taste so dirty. (THE SERVICE TOLD US TO WAIT AND WE WAITED AT THE LITTLE DISCUSSING HALL FOR OVER 3 HOURS.
