I give it 1 star for the first time. The hotel is in the best location in Singapore's Clarke Quay area, and after 4 years in Singapore, the hotel prices were unbelievably high due to the soaring prices and the weak yen. A mere 12 square meters cost about 20,000 Japanese yen. When I opened the door of the hotel, I was very surprised at how small the room was and how old the facilities were. The breakfast plan included breakfast, but I had to go to a Jayleen 1918 Hotel a few minutes' walk away. The buffet breakfast was very limited in variety, and when I got there, there was hardly any food. If there is no food already, no new food will be served. I ate the amount of breakfast shown in the picture and went right back. After checking out, I asked a female staff member of the hotel to take care of my luggage. The staff was not very helpful. I did not feel good about my interaction with the staff. I think the price of the hotel does not match the service and facilities at all. Next time I come to Singapore, I will not give priority to the location, but I will give higher priority to the hotel's review rating and the hotel's facilities.

The location and price of the hotel is really good but I really cant recommend anyone to stay there. This was the worst room I have ever seen - there was mold everywhere on the wall, it was always warm, since they disabled the AC as soon as you leave the hotel. There were a lot of stains in the fridge and overall it was very disgusting. Our group of 4 decided after the first night to search for another hotel and moved out without any compensation. The hotel staff said that the room was "fine". Really cant recommend this place.

I stayed in this hotel for 25 days. Very lousy and rundown hotel with rude counter staff, Michelle. Room is small and with ants coming out at anytime. My friends who visited me commented the place not clean. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Victoria hotel @ Victoria St is way better than this hotel in terms of price, location, service and room comfort esp for long stay. They give very good prices. I wish l hv came to know of Victoria hotel earlier. I got a bigger, better room but paid lesser than Jayleen Clarke Quay.

These guys running some fraud business. Charged me 260 dollars for a night for a room that has nothing. Ants/ insects on the slab, bed and bathroom. No room service no water to drink. A very basic 1 star room. I booked for 5 nights and had to cancel for remaining 4 nights and found a 4 star hotel within 500 meters will all amenities including pool for 300 dollars. Please don't go by the website and photos...this is very basic 1 star budget hotel and no good for paying more than 50 dollars a night. Dear hotel staff...please refund my money.

Extremely tiny rooms, rude night staff, and dirty bed sheets. ***Must avoid for staying with family.*** Only pro is Great location but the hotel is practically invisible to the naked eye even if you are right outside it .

If there is a 0 rating, it would be that. The place is so old and torn and dirty and musty... it's basically a health hazard! They don't even have bottled water, they gave us a pitcher of water, in which the pitcher was so old and dirty! The latch on the door was broken, we did not feel safe at all.

Small rooms but near many landmarks restaurants and transportation . Price is reasonable also. The only negative is that sound echos in open area between floors.

Awful, small rooms. Dirty bath towels. Staff good. I paid more to move to the sister hotel around the corner in Carpenter Street. Much better, bigger rooms. Cleaner. Near all the hustle and bustle of Boat Quay. Excellent food locations, bars

I'm not really sure how this hotel is still allow to operate. There was renovation going on next door and it feels like the wall in my bedroom is about to fall down anytime soon. The drilling is so loud it sounds like I'm at the construction site. The sink placement was quite awkward too in the room I got given, 353. The sink was not installed in the toilet, which I'm not very used to. The location itself is very good for me but I don't think it's worth the value of money and having to deal with the noises as I do prefer to take noon naps during my travels, which was non-existent in this hotel due to the renovation work next door.

So far it's fine .. got a room on the 4th floor ..their queen room .. came in around 9pm but Willy at the reception was very helpful and immediately made me feel at home . They exuded the old world charm and hospitality . Very comforting to a tired traveller . It's a mid range hotel, very clean and has all the rrquired basics .. the air-conditioning worked well ..great shower and although the bathroom is small it's effectively functional..the bed's comfortable.. rooms too are bit small but most Singapore hotels at this price have small rooms so I guess that's OK particularly since I'm a solo traveller . Breakfast is wholesome and is a buffet at their Jayleen 1918 hotel just a one minute stroll away . Location is incredible and well worth it ..and I'd certainly recommend it to any traveller who's interested in a convenient location at an affordable rate right next to the Clarke Quay MRT .

This hotel provided a poor experience for me. The hotel room was not as clean as I had hoped, and the staff seemed uninterested inΒ my concerns. It certainly did not live up to the expense of my stay.

We booked a room for four people and the room was mouldy, dirty and there was no way to even open a window. In addition to that the mattress and cushion was hard as wood. We had a freezer that was completely dirty and yellowish and the sink was nearly cloaked. We booked the room for five days but left after the first day. Not recommended! The only positive thing was the receptionist. He was very friendly and a genuine nice guy.

It was a very bad experience. There are works in the building next to the hotel so I could not sleep (including Saturday and Sunday). The room is really small, there is no place to open your luggage and also it is very uncomfortable. The bathroom and the shower were full of small butterflies and there were ants all around. The owner (I think he was the owner) tried to make things better but to be honest for the price you pay it’s a bad choice. The only good thing is the position that is great. Sleep in this hotel only if you stay one night with a small bag.

The place is in a good location, other than that keep your expectations very low. The room is very tiny, and very basic. Cleaning is ok, but definitely could be improved. The aircon makes a weird noise, and not as cold.

The rooms are small but pack all the amenities you need including a fridge, kettle, Wi-Fi and TV. It's close to Clarke Quay which has a great night life and opposite a MRT/bus station so you can get anywhere. Everything is close by too! I do mean EVERYTHING you would to visit in Singapore. In contrast, I'm staying in a more expensive Hotel 81 right now, and it doesn't have half the amenities!

Jayleen Clarke Quay Hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The room was spacious and clean, with plenty of natural light and a comfortable bed. The hotel's central location made it easy to explore the city, and the staff were always available to provide recommendations and assistance. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Singapore

Great location and rooms were very nice. For the money in this area of Singapore you can't find better. Very good staff too.

The room is cramped. narrow. I cannot open my luggage on the floor. I have to take it on my bed. But, the location is great. Right next to the hotel is Seven Eleven. Directly in front of it is the bridge to Clark Quay Station. Near the location there is also the Song Fa Bak Kut Teh restaurant which is always busy when mealtime arrives. We walked several times to Merlion Park, about 800 meters. On the way to Merlion Park, we passed the colorful Police Building and the Asian Civilization Museum. This hotel provides free drinking water that you can take any time for free. Don't forget to bring your drinking bottle....

Very unhelpful. I accidently booked the wrong date through Webjet who said I simply had to go through the hotel directly to get authorisation to change it. When I rang the hotel and explained the situation they refused to help, to either change the date or refund. They lied to me and said they couldn't do anything when I made it very clear that all they needed to do was email Webjet to confirm the change. Cost me a lot of money, so won't be booking with them again.

No way this is 4 stars. Budget to the core. Not the worst I've stayed in, but expectations should be managed. Tiny room, small ants everywhere. A/C unreliable.

Location is good and everything is clean and tidy. The room was small, the hotel is pretty minimal and old design, furnitures are also old. Walls are thin though can really hear everyone else.

The clerk that greeted my friends was dressed most shabbily. The saving grace was that he was friendly. The rooms were really tiny.

The place is cozy. I've read feedbacks that it is old but it is well taken care of. I'll recommend it to my brothers and friends who are planning to visit singapore. Being cleaned on a daily basis. Been to hotels around the world, this is comparable to them. I didn't see any bedbugs as indicated on other feedbacks. Staff are very accommodating, friendly and very helpful. Will definitely comeback.

This hotel is found right next to Clark quay MRT. Great location with very good rates. Near to Clarke quay and Chinatown. Room size was small, but as do many similar ranged hotels. Breakfast in the morning was decent, however u do have to walk to its sister hotel (jayleen 1918) which is a couple of blocks down for it.

  • 4/5 Jack L. 6 years ago on Google
The hotel was excellently located, right next to a MRT station. The room was small though adequate and had everything we needed. Sheets were a little stained, but the rest of the room was clean.

Hotel is actually a similar standard to a hostel but with mid range hotel prices. Location is good but the level of service is anything but!! Main issues are lack of hot water, unreliable WiFi and doors often malfunctioning. A bland, modest, oily breakfast buffet is included but you have to walk round the block to another hotel called Jayleen Clarke 1918 to get it! After a few days the food makes you sick so better to go to the Clark Quay mall across the road. Beware many people have complained of little or no hot water due to deficiencies with their solar hot water system. If your stay coincides with a spell of bad weather there is a HIGH PROBABILITY you will get NO HOT WATER! Seen several reviews on Tripadvisor with similar complaints. Avoid at all costs!

The service is very warm. If the breakfast is included, it shall be a very nice experience. Secondly they also help you if you have any issues being a tourist. Weirdly enough ;) I also got guidance on being an entrepreneur there ! Don't expect a luxurious stay but surely hospitality is good, very accessible location and of course you get what you pay for.
