Clean and beautiful, this is one of my favourite pathways for a long walk on this island. The views of the skyline, modern and colonial architecture, myriad of bridges, nature, relaxing riverside dining, and energetic club scene line this route, making it an experience just by encountering such a variety of sights and sounds. The section facing the iconic Singapore skyline is a popular photo-op location - one of the best views is from the curved steps outside the esplanade, where one gets a full panoramic view of Marina Bay Sands to the city skyline, Fullerton hotel, and the Merlion in the distance. Whether it’s day or night, it’s a feast for the eyes either way. Prepare some shades or an umbrella in hand in case it’s a hot sunny day, or forecast to rain, to have your journey unobstructed. PSA: mind your surroundings where the pathways get narrower as it is shared for walking, running, and cycling. To be safe, it’s best to keep on the left of the walkway in either direction.

I had been visiting and snapping the river since 40 years ago. It never stop to intrigue me. Here I brought a group of students from China to enjoy and photograph the river. It reminds me how the world have changed and children in Primary school could own a camera. It was amazing. I was a teenager when I got my first camera. The world is so progressive and beautiful that we are now more expose to possibilities and expose to the world. It was a great feeling teaching eager students.

a beautiful river to stroll by! it has statues that not only beautify the river, but also act as a historical artefact as it shows the lives led by Singaporeans in the early years. there are also boat rides and enjoy the views of the river in! we would definitely recommend coming here for a taste of singapore!

Since 2008, the Singapore River was turned into a fresh water river after the completion of the Marina Barrage at Marina South. Entertainment, sustainability, and education in history and the vision from our first generation leader sum up the story behind Singapore success. It is a must visit for tourist and a pleasant touring along the river to discover rich variety of Architecture. As well as stopping by for the world class night spots.

There are a lot of famous scenic spots along the Singapore River, such as Clarke Quay, Parliament of Singapore, Asian Civilisations Museum, Asian Civilisations Museum Green, National Gallery Singapore, Boat Quay, Cavenagh Bridge, Elgin Bridge, etc. Urban Hiking in SG : For those who love hiking or sustainable living, a 1 day hiking trail of figure-8 or ∞-shaped (infinity symbol) is suggested for sightseeing along & cross the Singapore River & Marina Bay. The trail : Read Bridge (Malacca Bridge) as starting-point → Clarke Quay Shopping Mall → Parliament of Singapore → Asian Civilisations Museum → Asian Civilisations Museum Green → National Gallery Singapore → Anderson Bridge → Fullerton Waterboat House → Merlion Park → Jubilee Bridge → Esplanade Theatres → The Float @ Marina Bay Grandstand → Helix Bridge → Flower Dome → Marina Barrage → Marina East Park → Gardens by the Bay East → the footbridge along ECP → Singapore Flyer → Helix Bridge → Art Science Museum → Marina Bay Sands Garden Park → The Promontory @ Marina Bay → Merlion Park → Fullerton Hotel → Boat Quay → Read Bridge as endpoint (walking time appox. 5hr)

Singapore river has undergone a remarkable transformation from a dirty trading post to a vibrant hub of work life balance and sustainable development. This is thanks to the visionary leadership of the first generation leader, who had the foresight to clean up the river and revitalize its surroundings. The leader saw the potential of the river as a source of life, culture and commerce, and initiated a series of projects to restore its natural beauty and ecological health. The leader also encouraged the development of mixed-use spaces along the river, where people can live, work and play in harmony with nature. The leader's vision has created a lasting legacy for Singapore, as the river continues to be a symbol of our nation's resilience, innovation and excellence.

Beautiful and very happening place to spend ur evening in Singapore. You get entire view of Singapore. Calmness of water while cruising in a sampan boat ride brings freshness to the tired soul. Merlion park, view of Marina Bay sands, esplande, Singapore Flyer , Fullerton hotel many other marvellous structures are just eye captivating in the evening. All are must visit places in Singapore.

Exploring the riverfront in Singapore was a disappointment. The once-idyllic scene has been marred by excessive commercialization, crowds, and noise. Pollution and litter have taken away from its natural beauty, and dining options felt overpriced. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations.

The operation was massive; designed to give new life to the old lady. We cleaned out her arteries, removed detritus and silt, created a by-pass for the old blood. Now you can hardly tell her history. We have become so health-conscious the heart can sometimes be troublesome. Credit to Lee Tze Peng

One of the pleasures of Singapore in the evening is a walk along the river. It's bright, lively and you have a choice of eating or drinking in the aging Boat Quay, more modern Clarke Quay or the classier Robertson Walk. Not too long in the hot air - a treat.
