Honestly speaking nothing much to see here if you are not going for any live performance. But the street performance inside and also the live stage is quite nice. A few restaurants for you to eat inside but those alfresco type of restaurants cater to foreighners. Better go in the evening time as you can walk by the river side as well

Landmark facade in the heart of town. Interesting and unique design. Could be beautiful depending on your taste. Great acoustics inside the concert hall. It is definitely worth a visit to appreciate a performance. Convenient location, easily reachable by public transport

Absolutely love the overall visual and sound effect in this theatre. Enjoyed the authentic performance of the legendary Ludovico Einaudi and it was beyond phenomenal. The standing ovation from the stalls up to the three floors of passionate audience was incredible. Besides, the staff was really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend coming here for some great shows or theatres.

The Esplanade is an iconic building in Singapore. It is said to be designed on the Durian fruit. The Esplanade theatre is the high end popular art center where a lot of famous artists from around the world have performed. It is quite beautiful both from inside and outside and is well designed. It also had a lot of retail eateries and shops. It’s one of the must visit places in Singapore.

Loved the place. The live music still played here with safe measure. The parking is still free from 6pm to 10pm. Else it is $6.5 per entry. Nothing much in here except cafes but not much crowd especially now only 2 people allowed to dine in. It is still a great place here. Walking distance to Merlion Park.

Excellent theater for conducting music events. It's a 3 storied theater with very good viewing gallery. Excellent acoustics and lighting. Fully air-conditioned. Comfortable seating.

A lovely place to go even if not for a paid performance. Lots of outdoor spaces to wander around and views to enjoy. There are many free performances as well. This is from a paid performance, Blast from the Past and a most enjoyable one despite the covid restrictions

Iconic image of Singapore the Esplanade is an art theatre with two spiky domes resembling the famous fruit of the region - the Durian. It is on the five-cent coin of Singapore as well. It is marvelous & majestic, located at the beautiful Marine Bay & nearby is another famous Icon of Singapore the Merlion. A lot of art performances, exhibitions & shows are regularly conducted here. Many tourist visit the place , a must visit site while in Singapore.

If you are into arts, music and looking for a place to relax, appreciate the vibrancy here in Singapore, make a trip down here. There are also local delicacies beside the Theatre. And in the event nothing interest you, take a stroll around Marina Bay.

One of the iconic buildings of Singapore, the Esplanade. Durian shape like building and if you are a fan of art and performance, this place is not a stranger to you. There is weekly outdoor performance and its free. Grab yourself a drink and sit by the outdoor theatre space with the Marina Bay area as the backdrop. After your musical treat, be sure to walk over to merlion Park.

Really sad that the library and recording studio has been closed; it was a bastion of the arts in Singapore. There are just a lot of restaurants now, I don’t get why I’d visit the esplanade to eat. There was one art exhibition at least, which was pretty interesting.

Located outdoors by the waterside, regular music performances are held here by the Esplanade. Ample seating but subjected to the weather (is cozy in most circumstances). Great to hang out and experience budding Singapore bands here! (@Taledrops is in the review picture)

A very unique structure for theater. You can enjoy the art of acting and there are time you can enjoy the music performed by professional musicians. Both interior and exterior were both amazing! Love the architecture, atmosphere and coziness in there. Love the night lights! And there are some restaurants in and outside the building.

Quiet and peaceful during the pandemic. Nice to walk around and enjoy the view. There are some nice sculptures, happy family of five? Not sure they look local so they must have a pretty good life. Am sure they are happy here. It's really an eye opener to see how the ccp covid19 virus has affected the world's economy. Places like these which used to be so crowded are now quiet and peaceful. There are a couple of cute kids playing near there fountain. 👍😂🤣

An excellent popular tourist spot for street photography. Different nationalities love to take photographs with the Merlion. Some headwear worn by the tourists are shown. As at 27 Sep 2020, the Merlion area has a handful of visitors owing to COVID-19 ban on air travel.

Haven't been back for more than 2 years since the pandemic. It was nice to catch a free performance at the outdoor theatre tonight. The acoustic, service and the environment was still as good, if not better. Looking forward to be back again soon.

My family has been enjoying productions at the Esplanade for years. This place has iconic architecture on the outside (resembles a durian) and is an important performing arts centre on the inside. The staff are always warm and friendly, stepping up to their roles and beyond especially during this pandemic period with all the strict Safe Management Measures in place. The acoustics inside the theatre and concert hall are fantastic too, perfect for our latest show attended (Singapore Lyric Opera's Double Bill). I love that that the mobile signals are blocked too so that the audience and performers can enjoy an interruption-free experience. We will be back again soon!

For those who are curious about how far the seats are for different rows- here’s a reference :) I personally prefer row G (Cat 2) - since you get to see most of them & would consider middle seats next time.

Great place to wander along at night time or during the day but wear a sun hat! The band stand is a good place to catch a rest and some shade. Also within 2 mins there are loads of places to get a snack or beverage. A really nice place to just watch the World go by

One of the best experiences in Singapore. With a touch of a classical music concert, Singapore symphony orchestra. Don't forget to check the area before or later. We came earlier and spent 1 hours walking around, get to the 4th floor and roof terrace! Looks very quite and hidden spot for perfect photos!

Few buildings have created such a stir as this one. Opened in 2002, the eye-catching bayfront complex has been dubbed ‘the durians’ by locals because of its resemblance to the spiky tropical fruit. Built at a cost of $600 million, the Esplanade is Singapore’s premier performing arts centre and often draws comparisons with the Sydney Opera House. Its crown jewels are the 1,600-seat Concert Hall and the 2,000-seat Theatre. There is also a black box Theatre Studio (seating 220) and a Recital Studio (245). Programming is an eclectic mix, veering from Western to Eastern flavours and including festivals and touring productions.

Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay is a statutory board under the Ministry of Culture performing arts centre located in the Downtown Core of Singapore near the mouth of the Singapore River. There’s shops, restaurants, toilets inside and you can experience the joy that the arts brings through a diverse range of performances all year round at Singapore's national performing arts centre. Some art shows on display as you walk around the place. Very nice vibes in the evening. There’s performance both in the main stage inside and outside. The centre can be seen around, it’s made up of two rounded glass domes.

Wow, this is an extremely extraordinary place for the international tourists, because, it’s the greatest place for multi culture, which is immensely essential for a person who is hunger for education for culture and languages. It is located at besides of Merina Bay, where has come an ample number of people from different countries, whose are extremely elite and culture lover. Hence, Esplanade -Theatres on the Bay is very popular and effective place for increasing own knowledge.

Esplanade Theatre is such a pleasant vibe. Performing arts centre, so lots of interesting and fun events, both free and paid that one can choose from. The theatre can get quite cold so do carry a jacket. We could carry our food and drinks inside as it was a casual watching experience. Also, the theatre has a lot of eateries around.

Beautiful theatre. I've seen the Cinderella ballet. I was located in circle 2 and I had a very great view. The music acoustic of the theatre is also very good. The sound of the orchestra was perfect. My only remark is for the seat which was not really comfortable.

Esplanade theatres on the bay may draw people because of its architecture significance and its proximity to the marina Bay Area but the purpose it embodies is what truly astonish. With more than 50% of the shows free to public, Esplanade is to make art accessible to the public. Come grab a sandwich during lunch and watch a live guitar ensemble for free. Just look for the monthly program highlights online. How does the P&L work out for Esplanade in the marina Bay Area of Singapore, the most premium strip of real estate in the most expensive country in the world? It doesn’t. The entire Esplanade theatre by the bay is a charity organization. What is free may not mean it did not cost (another dearly). Qn: What is costing you dearly that you have now made free and accessible for others? #esplanade

There are free performances and activities for the public as well as ticketed performances. The place will be easily appreciated by those who are into performing arts as there is a public library dedicated to that (theatre, dance, film and audio). They also have visual installations which is changing periodically.

The Esplande. It is nice to take a slow walk and enjoy the view. It is so modern with all the skyscrapers. Let me bring you to the old Esplanade it was name Queen Elizabeth walk nothing much to see. As you walk from across the Bridge from the G.P.O. (Fullerton Five Star Hotel now) you can see from afar a big U shape. A place for eating. There was a Stay Club at the end, Noddle Stall, other Food Stalls and also drink Stall. They have Square shining tables and chairs very light to carry. We all have our dinner under the stars. We can see the ships far from our shore. There were many small bum boats near Clifford Pier. After our meal we took a slow walk at Queen Elizabeth walk again and than we go home.

Had a great opportunity to perfom here with my other music buddy last week with Dapur Smooth Jazz Trio. Esplanade is really know what they're doing as they have professional team. Great, helpful and friendly team work that we're always grateful for. Practice hygiene by maintaining safe distance measurement for the audience by giving max number of 50 per session, cleaning the sitting area during the break so both the performer and the audience will feel safe to enjoy the music performance. Thank you and God bless Singapore!

I'm reviewing on the halls instead of the whole esplanade itself. Honestly I didn't expect the grandeur of this scale as I thought it was more of a stage setting having watched 1 or 2 plays at this location. This time round I attended a piano recital piece, and I was in awe of the setting.

Pop by Esplanade at any time and you’ll find it hard not to be infected by its palpable creative vibe, whether it’s the ever-changing, larger than life visual arts display near the main entrance or the world-class performances staged here. The shows featured cut across cultures and genres. You can catch a concert by Western greats such as The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra or a Chinese play inspired by the late doyen of Singapore Chinese theatre Kuo Pao Kun. Fondly nicknamed "the Durian” by Singaporeans for its resemblance to the popular fruit, Esplanade holds a 1,600-seat Concert Hall, a 2,000-seat Theatre and several intimate performance venues. Its performance spaces have hosted a range of high-profile events, such as the return of the quintessential musical Les Misérables. Free programmes, from music and dance to theatre, also regularly take place at various locations in Esplanade

Being a musician, Esplanade is a place close to my heart. It's known as #MyDurian, an iconic building that all will recognise the moment they see it. It's a place to promote musicians, bands, symphonies, choir for performance. It also hold regular free concerts for us to attend. There's also library at the 3rd level where you can borrow many musical scores, CDs, books with a specialisation on music education. There's also some shops which sells musical instruments as well as creative products that are made by Local Companies. The cafes, restaurants offers a good variety of mix of both local and other cultural delights. To take a look of the Esplanade, you would like to go to Esplanade Bridge. It's especially beautiful at night. #ILoveEsplanade

Possibly the best spot to view or photograph The Merlion and the MBS landmark! The place was not crowded (covid restrictions?), and the views just before sunset (7pm) are simply spectacular! Best of all, it's free of charge! Near Esplanade MRT. Enjoy!

As a theatre, it's already dead before Covid. Terrible yet expensive interiors. But a nice Durian cityscape art installation as a saving grace.

Excellent experience at the theatre. Beautiful architecture and interior design. Lots of activities on site and vibrant ambient.

The building is unique. It is shaped like a durian, with spikes on the roof, which resemble the skin of a durian. Serves as a cinema and theater. The area inside looks modern. Make people who visit here comfortable. It seems that it was also used as an art building.

My favourite place of all time. Used to come to Esplanade alot when I was younger due to the view, and Baybeats! Now as I have my own little family, sometimes I bring my kids along to enjoy the live performances as they share my love for the arts. Seriously awesome live music. There’s a small section to the left of the main entrance where you can learn more about the history of the beloved “durian”! Went here last Sunday & they had some free live shows, indoor & outdoor. Plus, a wonderful view of the MBS & the Merlion!

Such an amazing space with free entertainment on some nights. The entertainment is so classy and it just makes for such a special stay in Singapore to enjoy live music here by the Bay. I adore this place!

The architecture structure of Esplanade building is bold and unique. Always love to come to this beautiful place to enjoy a concert or performances. The atmosphere is great! Occasionally, you can catch some free performances or activities at the concourse. Do note that the internet connection inside the concert hall or theatre hall is very poor.

    - air conditioned comfort for taking morning walks when it rains, and surrounding spacious grounds when it does not, - convenient parking location if you are looking to get to Marina Bay basin across from MB Sands, - Toast Box, Subway, Coffee Bean eateries are housed within for hearty breakfast

I went there with my parent for the concert that they wish to have. There are lots of performance and exhibition here full with arts. However I heard from my mum the theatre where they watched the concert doesn't have the big screen at the side of the stage (which we normally have during concert) in which really surprised me.

I was lucky to catch one of their night shows while walking from merlion park. They showcased several opera singers who gave their rendition of famous classical pieces. The show was free and everybody was welcome. Overlooking the marina bay sands and singapore skyline. Don't miss this!

Looks great. Strategic location. Unfortunately there's no performance to see on the day we arrived. The environment looks outstanding with several Singapore landmarks situated here..

Seating at Foyer AA and BB row.. Can see comedian Jason Leong clearly☺️ Also mean it is clear enough to see your favourite person on stage. Don’t sit here if you’re expecting straight view or you can do that too when you turn your body a little😉

Rating: ★★★★★ I had an incredible time at Esplanade in Singapore! The public performance featuring Indian and Western music fusion was pure magic. The musicians' talent and synergy were awe-inspiring. The blend of ragas and Western melodies created an unforgettable symphony. The venue's acoustics were top-notch, enveloping us in a mesmerizing musical journey. A must-visit for any music lover!

Nice building, nice acoustic. Even if we're only strolling sround the outdoor area we still get a beautiful view of singapore's landscape. A lot of people jogging around here esp during afternoon to sunset.

Every first Monday of the month, Esplanade will engaged local talents to perform at their Recital Studio and it’s called Coffee Morning and Afternoon Tea. Alternate month for English and Mandarin performances. Usually they have 2 sessions. The singers and their band make a lot of efforts to prepare, rehearsal and they have to be at the studio so much earlier before the performance starts at 10:30am. I have been watching for at least 5 years. After the lockdown, Esplanade and the performers made tremendously efforts to keep the spirit high, they even organised virtual performance via Facebook. Kudos to all

Beyond its architectural and artistic significance, Esplanade is a place that fosters a sense of community and cultural exchange. The outdoor spaces, including the waterfront promenade, are popular gathering spots for both locals and tourists. The open-air theaters and rooftop terrace provide breathtaking views of the city skyline, creating a memorable backdrop for events and performances

I had a great evening watching wing chun with my family. The ambience and facilities are top notch. The staff are friendly and professional. Instructions are clear, all sign board indications are accurate and easy to find. Elderly friendly too. Expensive tickets but all is worth for a wonderful evening experience.

6th October, 2023 It is our second time visiting Esplanade today. I have an almost 6 year old, and it is always a rewarding experience when we go to the Esplanade. We were here for the Octoburst: Children's Festival events hosted by Esplanade from 10.45 am to 1. 30pm. It was really well organised, a joyful and enriching experience for kids. As part of the event, they gave away for all Pip's club members a Pip's watch and a tattoo on completing a survey. They also had a very friendly volunteer who helped kids apply the tattoo. The brochure provided had all the details of all the events planned for the festival and also a fun word game and spot the difference game. As part of the event, we could witness a beautiful performance of kids from Bukit View Primary School: Angklung & Kulintang Ensemble. It was a first for us, be it the novelty of the instruments or the music the kids made. Next, they had a stage play: Job Search ny Freddo Children's Theatre. Here, the play moved from one location to another (4 locations in total). The play depicted what different jobs were and how it is ok to not have everything figured out and to take time and do what you love. The play was very interactive and kept the kids engaged. Next, we went on Pip's trail looking for QR codes at 6 locations doing fun quests. At the end of it, we collected a sticker sheet at the box office at Level B1. There were activities throughout the day, but we were tired as it was a very sunny day, and we called it a day. The Pip's playbox was super crowded as there were many kids here for the festival, and we were met with the maximum capacity reached sign. Would highly recommend visiting Esplanade for any age group as it is an enjoyable and enriching experience, especially for kids.
