A little on the pricier side (Starbucks range) but ambience and decor is super conducive for reading and using one’s laptop. Perfect for rainy afternoons or chilling between peak meal hours.

Amazing, quite coffee shop ideal for a good get-together or to catch up on some work. Best part was Ms. Angel and Ms. Audrey delivering great service and constant customer care! Highly recommended. I’ll be back 🤖 try the home made Apple Pie! Was totally worth it!

In their words "Casual, book-filled hangout dishing up breakfast staples, bowls, burgers & noodles, plus coffee." Nice and cozy interior / ambience Very Friendly and approachable staff. The cafe allows you to take life at your own pace. It's homely 🌟👍 and welcoming. The cafe is Spacious with lotsa seating available. The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating. The food was good 🌟👍and so was the coffee 👍. I would have liked my coffee piping hot though. It's a Great place to catch up with your friends and have meaningful conversations Go ahead, read a book or prepare a presentation on your laptop. They even have power 🔌sockets for you. The food was delicious and the ambience is very comfortable. It's very quiet and the seats are very comfortable, its a great place to chill on a hot day. The staff (short hair lady) was very polite and well manner and attended to us quickly and accede to our request with very good customer service.

Nice cafe along Martin road, spent an afternoon here getting some work done. We had eggs royale and eggs benedict, both were great and comes with rosti. The coffee is okay, and they serve handmade cookies too. There’s plenty of plugs and wifi is available, good spot to work from. Just make space for other diners when it’s peak period. Overall, quaint and comfortable cafe to hangout.

An ideal cafe-bistro hybrid that's very work-friendly. You can choose between cozy table-chair setups or more plush couch seating if you prefer lounging around. The staff are super friendly and the ordering is seamless through a contactless QR-code system, letting you focus on your work. There are plenty of plug points around the seating arrangements for extended work sessions. In line with this productivity theme, the food is also focused around quick-bites and delicious desserts. A great value-for-money work cafe in the heart of the city, now among my list of city favourites!

Chanced upon this place on Google and we had brunch on Christmas Day. It is located at a corner and the interior is nice and cozy. This place has a much better food choices and prices than Common Men Coffee Roasters. Food was not too bad, with the exception of the mushroom soup (too bland and diluted). Staff was friendly and they were able to accommodate to our request to cancel our last order, as we had ordered too much food. Place is full of books, and I would spend some quiet moments reading the books. Unfortunately, most of the patrons were very much glued to their handphones. Such a pity! Worth a visit.

Work-friendly cafe - with free wifi and sockets available. There were a few others doing work as well; the traditional apple pie 🥧 ($7.50) was quite tasty especially as it’s heated up 👍 the Seasalt oatmeal cookie 🍪 also had a nice texture to it. There’s complimentary water too. Would recommend 👍 prices for mains are on the higher side though.

Came around 12pm but there were no available tables with electrical outlets. The kind staff asked if we were ok to sit outdoors and we said alright, and 10 minutes later she ushered us indoors when there was a seat available. The vibes were chill and the food was good. I love that they have nutritious/healthy options available. The music was really good too ☺️ In total, we spent about $80+ for 2 mains + soups + 3 drinks and stayed there for a good 6 hours 😱

Cozy book cafe with awesome food to offer. I ordered various all day breakfast items and all taste amazing. They indicate hashbrown in one of the menu but it comes as roshti, no complaints though. It taste amazing. But the most amazing meal is steak with foei gras. The doneness is perfect. It taste amazing without sauces. Which means the ingredients itself are good and the chef cook it well. Super happy with this meal. So far the best I ever eat in Singapore. Recommended to visit this place if you are happened in this area.

A sit down place for hours enjoying a good conversation or reading a good novel. The Espresso served from machine is well balanced. Very comfortable eclectic decor and sofa. Looking forward to returning.

Cozy place to hang out. Matcha latte was nice and not too sweet. The almond croissant and matcha chocolate cake were nice and not too sweet too. Nice ambiance in a calm, relaxed atmosphere. Staff was attentive and friendly. The only downside is that the music they played kept skipping and cutting in and out 😅. Apart from that, it was great.

Went brunch with a friend to catch up. Parking is along the road. The place environment is unique with the books and magazine setting out. This place is good to make a reservation but ensure you call them after making reservation to confirm. As my reservation did not go through but they provide a table for me. We order the bacon breakfast, weekend special breakie with Rosti. Both breakfast taste great. Breakfast came with toast but we choose to remove the toast. The pancake taste good too and not too heavy. We like the food there and the service was great. Thank you for having us. :)

Love this cafe! I was working remotely in Singapore and working on Australian time, this place was open early enough for me to start work and have breakfast at the same time. This cafe is great to work, study or read at. They have a huge collection of books, it’s quiet, they have some power outlets and their free wifi is good. The menu had a great selection of breakfast dishes and healthy lunch options and their coffee is good. Next time I’m in Singapore I’ll definitely be going back.

It's a place I have been wanting to visit for some time now and it's a quaint and cozy place to chill and do some work. Unfortunately due to the covid situation, one is unable to borrow books but their desserts and coffees are pretty good. Can't wait to go back and try out their food in future.

We arrive at the cafe one hour before closing. They let us know upon arrival that the last call ends in 30 minutes, so we order right away via QR code. The cafe has cozy vibes and lots of bookshelves with books. I ordered an ice cream sandwich but after ordering they told me they were out of a certain ice cream or cookie flavour (I couldn’t really understand). The total amount charged on the QR code was $7 but when they printed my bill it was $9.50. I asked why and they said it was because I changed my order. But they didn’t tell me it would cost more than what was stated on my phone. The ice cream sandwich was also not worth $10 as the cookies were hard and crunchy. Won’t visit again.

The Book Cafe is an extremely cosy place to hang out/ de-stress/ day dream over a nice cuppa coffee or tea. The music here is fantastic and the vibes are chillaxing. I had the all day breakfast and I really enjoyed it. It's hard to find places that serves the classic (as in C-L-A-S-S-I-C) preparation of eggs, toast, sausages and cherry tomatoes. There's too much fusion going on these days (at other brekkie cafes) and it's honestly nice to experience a simple, classic and delicious breakfast without the mumbo jumbo. Free WiFi here and plug points are everywhere for laptop enthusiasts. Books are placed on the shelf and there's a huge range of books. The service here is superbly fantastic and I'll definitely come back here again. Two thumbs up to this gem. I'm glad I stumbled upon you.

Beautiful place to have a cuppa with friends or family. Perfect to work/study/browse through the books displayed in-store, or catch up with friends/colleagues. Great atmosphere as the cozy vibe really drew me in. The food was just meh for the price, though. Had a salmon brunch and it came mediocrely decorated (just three cherry tomatoes, a slightly over-cooked hash brown, a freshly baked toast, some scrambled eggs, and very salty salmon). Guess I’ll just try their coffee or tea next time.

Surprising find, it wasn’t as crowded as I thought it would be in the afternoon (3-5pm) which was perfect. A nice spot to relax from the heat. The atmosphere was nice, though the staff were quite loud sometimes (but not that big of a deal). The chips and salsa were good (the salsa contains a little heat so be careful), and the oat matcha latte was very nice - although quite sweet.

As much as I hate leaving a bad review, this experience tells me that I am never going back to this place anymore. Your ops manager told me that "you guys really need the sale" and asked me when I am leaving. I said yup soon! Understand you need more customers. Her reply was, HOW SOON? First of all I have came to this place many times and I enjoyed the atmosphere here. I understand if there's need for more sales and time limit, but it just sounds ridiculous - so I should time my visit next time, 1 hour and I need to go. I don't know how to put in words, I completely empathize the point of view of wanting more sales as a business as I'm a business owner myself but... it's just upsetting man. The first thing came to my mind is - Never coming back here again.

I got the ravioli and it was good, but the portion was quite small. My friend got the steak and cheese sandwich and the bread was crispy on the edges and soft inside. Lots of bell peppers inside. So if you don't like bell peppers, you should avoid this dish. Feel that the loaded fries ($15) wasn't really worth it though. Just cheese fries with some fake bacon bits. Menu selection had a lot of different cuisines. Iced cocoa drink was alright. There's no additional GST nor service charge. Service from the staff was great, we could "queue" to shift from a dining table to a study/work table. We stayed for about 5 hours, didn't get chased away. Staff repeatedly filled our water cups too. Chair was a little dirty. Seems like someone dropped some drink on it before. They played a very random mix of music. Some of it made me want to sleep, then they changed to pop music. Rather random haha. Will come back again! Just hope that the side dishes menu will expand, and the portions in general will be bigger.

Visited around midday on a Wednesday and stayed for about 3.5 hours. The place wasn't very crowded, we sat in the sofa area which was comfortable, though a bit hard to eat of you're ordering a lot of food because the table is a bit low. I ordered a beef bowl - it had quinoa and barley and was light tasting. The sous vide beef was tasty and so were the mushrooms - these gave the savoury taste to the dish. Those who like stronger tasting food might want to give this a miss. The combination fills you up without causing a drag. My friends ordered the Shibuya toast with steak (same beef as the beef bowl) - the cheese was good and the thick Japanese style toast slices looked good, and a grand salad which was quite filling. For dessert, we shared a slice of dark chocolate cake. It was very rich. Went well with the coffee/tea we ordered. My friend had an afogato which is off the menu but they made it for us. Service is good, they went about filling our glasses with water many times without us really noticing amid our conversation.

Cozy cafe with sofas and books to chillax the afternoon/evening away.. 🥹 Reservation recommended due to potential crowd. Sofas for walk-in only but you can always adjourn over when there’s space! Lovely place to chat, for date, or just be with yourself for a while. 🥰 Must-tries: ✔︎ Mushroom soup
✔︎ Gelato (Baileys, Irish coffee, Basil strawberry not bad too) ✖️Food was so-so, but we would be back for tarts n burgers which look tasty! Go for a walk along Robertson Quay after, to Clarke Quay.

Great place. First time visit. Everything served was delightfully spot on from the lemon drizzle on the Baked Salmon 🍣 to the delicious Pumpkin 🎃 Soup to the Flat White and Fish n Chips. Highly recommend this place. (But…… We came to relax while spending time eating and drinking, unfortunately very few of the most comfortable seats came free due to too many customers spending hours without respecting the business premises they were in at all. This does not seem fair to the owners.) N.B. We spent $100+ in a 2 hour visit. Which is about right for a place of this quality and comfort. We would welcome a minimum spend policy to ensure everyone gets to enjoy the space fully.)

Ate lunch at the dining area and desserts at the couch areas. Staff was very friendly and helpful and directing us to preferred seats. Ordered a steak and mentaiko salmon, steak was cooked perfectly medium rare (but could use a little more seasoning), the mentaiko salmon was perfect, very delicious!! Watched a movie at the couch area, was not disturbed at all, wonderful time.

Very calm place with a plenty of space if you want to spend calm time while working or reading 📖. Food is good but more on the basic cafe side, so don’t expect to have a fancy brunch here. I'm not fond of the ambience. Dark and air con blasting from all corners. Sofa seats are too close to the next patrons for comfort. Eggs benedict was not great - ham a bit tough and the eggs were overcooked. Experience also marred by patrons having a zoom meeting with the sound blasted for all to hear (headphones/ear buds please!)

Bad experience! First, one of the staff came to us and asked us whether should we order some more food or drink. Less than 5 min later, the operation manager explicitly informed us that we didn't spend enough to stay longer. It’s hard for me to leave a low rated review of this place given that in the past I have given high reviews and it’s the place where I did Alpha courses (great to do it at). While I’m cognizant in this COVID environment that restaurants need to adapt, this one is less easier for kids than other ones given the restrictions. Here’s why... it’s tough to give this review because this place is owned and run by good Christians, but so are many other places.. 1) safecheckin entry - hard to find especially with all the QR code’s that exist showing 2) smoking - it’s a non smoking place outside yet some people do, it bothers me but more important my baby 3) babies- so can’t bring a stroller in even next to your table. Be aware 4) inside tables- so we made a booking online, and even stated we had a child (btw I had to repeat myself several times to staff to make the booking but probably didn’t understand correctly).. frustrating.. we had to sit outside eventually 5) service - not great, not terrible .. food is decent but portions could be bigger and menu selection limited If you’re here for a coffee great, doing Alpha course, or coffee fellowship.. but with small kid maybe head to Boomerang or Robertson Quay restaurants.

Previous time I went there, the service was good. But this time round the service staff that lacks enthusiasm. Was chided by the bigger size waitress for changing seats to another. And was told that I can only change seats once. I had made the change because the ones I chose was cold especially during the cold weather. It’s not as if I will keep changing seats multiple times during a meal. Yes I understand the need to disinfect and cause a bit of inconvenience, but is there a need to chide a customer off? Little wonder the cafe was not bustling with activity compared to the cafe next door with much better service and food.

A cozy and warm cafe for your afternoon tea and work / study fix. I attended a 1 hour online meeting at the outdoor seating, and apart from occasional engine sounds from large vehicles driving by, the environment was mostly quiet and conducive for work. Had their Lemongrass with Butterfly Pea and it was quite tasty. Will be back if I need a change in environment in my COVID work arrangements.

Ambience for the outdoor seating upgraded with fans and hanging plants. This place has acquired iconic status in Muhammad Sultan, in my humble opinion.

Not bad, but burger was bit too oily. No sauce provided, so it was… yeah. Their fries used to be of a different quality too.

Scintilla is an excellent waiter, gave us an extension cord automatically. Drinks a bit expensive but I guess service is worth it.

A lovely cafe to do reading and have a quiet conversation - provided it's not the weekend. The prices for coffees are typical of cafes, but not quite for the tea. I had a Chamomile Citron Tea for $8.50, but it turned out to just a teabag in a pot, I had expected some loose leaf at least! Regardless I believe if you're here, the ambience and venue is the main consideration - everything else would just be a necessary cost to enjoy that. On that note, the couches are comfy and the atmosphere is great, but the venue could do with more lighting (especially since it's a book cafe) - I found myself straining my eyes at times because the lighting was dim.
