Everything they have is handmade from scratch. From mixing to piping, to baking, everything is done by hand by the elderly team. Their signature Banana Pies crust is firm, yet easily broken apart. It is crumbly and has a strong buttery fragrance that complements the gooey banana filling so well. Love it

Tried their chocolate tarts for the first time and it was really special! 😋 Made and kept frozen, it has a different taste and feel to it - I tried one that’s outside the freezer for 45 minutes and one that’s immediately consumed once out of the freezer, and I must say the latter is my preferred variant (though both are great)! The more popular banana pie was also well loved by our families, its scent can be smelled from a mile away! 👍🏻 Really amazing cake shop, though be mindful that the chocolate tarts aren’t always available.

Finally got to try the banana pie. The taste is unique. The top layer with coconut is really good. Crust is crispy. The banana filling is just right. Not overly sweet. The overall balance of the flavor and texture is good.

Been hearing the rave about the banana pie and decided to give it a try. No hate nor extremely loving it. It gives a nice nostalgic taste and feels to it, a craft that soon may be extinct. The banana is fragrant and a tab sour to it. The filling/ crust is thick and filling. It will be a nice breakfast tart to start the day. This will just be my opinion but be warned it will be a love or hate.. I would suggest to still give it a go… Enjoy folks!

Love love the banana tart as it’s light, flavorful and has wonderful texture with bits of coconut in it. Made with love by our Pioneer generation, it’s not a hidden gem but a well-known gem. There was a limit of half a tart when I was last there so if you have friends around to make up the head count, get in line! People buy them whole if they can, and never in slices.

I always love old school bakery. Today I got their signature banana pies and the walnuts cake. The lady told me I can keep the walnut cake at room temperature for 4 days and the banana pies (in chiller) for 2 days. My first mouthful of banana pie reminded me of goreng pisang! The banana filling is so delicious! It’s not overly sweet, just perfect. The crust though firm when hold, but crumbly inside the mouth. I like the overall taste of it.

Old school delicious 🤤 banana 🍌 pie 🥧 . 一 🥧 难求. So participated in a Good buy , buy through middleman who helped dealing with bakery shop and delivery 🚚 , great & excellent service. The middleman also sharing previous info how to storage and reheat unfinished pie. Honestly the taste is old school 🏫 and light 💡, rarely to see banana pie in market. At first i would just ‘Doh’ what so special, but once I tried i ate up 2pcs at once! Not so sweet and yet banana is fresh and not dried out, plus peanut fragrant. Loved 🥰 it. The bakers are 2 elderly, not sure when would they be retired, so try it fast before it gone. The whole pie cost $28 , half $14. Call them before heading down to avoid disappointment.

As you walk into the basement of Katong Shopping Centre, you will be greeted by a strong aromatic butter smell coming from Dona Manis. The bakes are rather pricey ($28 for a whole banana pie, $5 for 5 small choc tarts) but it’s well worth it! Everything is incredible. The banana pies are filled with banana chunks that are simply delectable. The star of the show is that crumbly buttery crust.

Introduced by a friend and was first time I entered Katong shopping centre. Cake was moist and tasty. The crust had strong hints of coconut. Great with a cup of tea to balance the sweetness of the tart.

I thought the crusty texture was nice and unique with crunchy peanut. But the filling was kind of sour. Somewhat unripe? I still prefer goreng pisang, if you ask me. But this is the only place I know where your can find this kind of banana pie.

This banana tart was pretty good. Old school no frills delicious tart. No seating area, it's all takeaway. Good place to buy snack/dessert for family and friends.

Guess I’m the first customer today for their famous banana pie. Come here a few times in noon and they are sold out. Truly one of the best. Not too sweet with flavourful texture. Best when eat fresh and reasonable price at $33 for a whole pie for 10 slices.

Tried the butter cake & found it rather dry and densed. In fact, i was choking when I took a bite of it. To my past experience with butter cakes, they are usually moist and easy on the throat but this one didn't. However, stars would go to their banana pastry.

Came here for their infamous banana pie and it didn’t disappoint! I could smell the fragrance in the air when I was a few feet away. Couldn’t resist the temptation to buy once you smelled it. It seemed like other pastries were sold out already since I dropped by on a late afternoon. Got myself two slices of banana pies. The crust of the banana pie’s thick and flaky to my liking. Even the banana filling’s rich and I couldn’t get enough of it. Would definitely come back to get more slices if this shop is still open when I visit Singapore again.

Excellent products at a fair price 👌🏻. Flavour are all on point, especially for the famous banana pie and chocolate tarts. Honestly I don’t think other could have done it better. Well done! Will be back 👍🏻

Old school but so... good! I absolutely love cafes, but this is something else. I was there around 9.15am on a weekday, and they were preparing to open. The pies were freshly baked and smelled lovely. I'm glad I got the chocolate tarts, can't wait to go back and get some more.

The banana pie is truly good! They pile on the banana thick & the crust is a perfect 10! Yes i believe it will be awesome-r if the pie is eaten piping hot. I love that the pie is jz that- good old banana pie that's not decadent, jz wholesome goodness. I didnt get the chance to buy the choc tart, owner says tarts were gone by late morning! Next time, i'll make sure to snag it b4 lunchtime. Banana is about $3 per slice. Be sure to get at least 2 pies....for urself!

Their chocolate tarts r just so good! It's nice and soft. The banana pie is also so good, the filling is just amazing with so many bananas and the crust has just the right amount of crispness

Saw the reviews long time ago and finally got to try the banana pie. Crust is crispy, the top layer mixed with coconut & peanut. The best part is the banana filling and not overly sweet, nice!!

👍👍 Excellent food, friendly and attentive service, and a great ambience to dine with friends and family. This outlet serves savoury food in addition to the usual drinks and pastries. With its variety of options and delicious mains, the Christmas brunch buffet we had was outstanding and truly memorable.
