Nice place for a good catch up with friends. Bar selection is great and the service is really efficient. Staff are all friendly. Mee Siam was superb - must-try! Seating is pretty limited so book in advance!

Came here around 5pm on a Friday to have a quick drink to relax as we were too early for our dinner reservations. The place was quite empty and hence there's no issue to walk in for us. The alcoholic drinks here are really special! The menu was designed with so much love and care to represent each and every different types of drinks available here. Love this place, but I'd say it's definitely on the pricier side ... 😂

Amazing Bar. My first experience was during an event on their place. Didn't expect that. Just randomly pick a bar and when I came it was so full no table but well worth the wait. Happy with my first experience. Just realised they are include top 50 bars. Very simple and cozy seats.

First time here and the bar bites were just amazing renditions of the traditional dishes. A wide variety of cocktails that has something for everyone, would def recommend. A little on the pricey side, but it’s to be expected and you do get some wonderful drinks and snacks!

Visited in Mar 2023 This was my first time visiting this place after a few recommendations from people to try it out. Pretty extensive cocktail menu with interesting nomenclature (see pics). The food menu was mostly a bar snacks menu but had a variety of options. While no one cocktail stood out as being exceptional, the average quality/taste was good. I’d recommend people to try out the “K Tea V”, “Can Bubble Gum”, and “Lah Leh Meh” cocktails. Among food, the Dry Mee Siam and Kari Hummus were good. The space is not that big and if you are a large group, it can get cramped. All in all, a decent place to hang out with friends over some good cocktails and snacks.

A refreshing change from other bars because the tapas style dishes are inspired by local cuisine. The cocktails were good but make sure you go before 7pm to enjoy not only the special price but the complimentary chicken sandwich

Love the interesting menu inspired by local artists, would love to try more if I have the time and money for it haha. If you are interested in the menu, catch them before Feb 1st cuz the menu will change given the 10th anniversary of the bar. There is complimentary chicken sandwich or tofu sandwich (vegetarian) during social hour before 7pm, some traditional cocktail and wine are cheaper during social hour too. Really love the service, the staff is super attentive and considerate, I wasn’t so into one of the cocktail due to the spices inside, the nice staff swapped another cocktail for me, and it turned out well! Love Garden City cuz it’s very refreshing but don’t order it u are not into basil. For the food, truffle fries has a nice dip and the fried carrot cake is not bad too!

One of the best cocktails bars in Asia and the world. Nutmeg and Clove really delivers the goods with a fun and experimental cocktail menu, with spicy, fruity, strong, balanced and unexpected mixes. Along with this comes a small but tasty food menu, with local favourites BUT with a twist. Loved the Garden State & Kueh cocktails. Luncheon fries are always a treat here!

The bar has a cozy atmosphere with an impressive wide range of cocktail menu. The food, on the other hand, is quite disappointing. All cocktails are priced $25. Happy hour is only until 7pm when you can enjoy limited cocktail options for ~$16. Note: this bar has only one shared restroom for both male & female Tried cocktails: Super strong - "Medusa" Slightly strong - "Airwaves" Sour - "Can BubbleGum?" Memorable - "Garden City", "King & Queen" Light - "Hu Hu Who?"

A Taste of Local Magic! The star of the show is undoubtedly the local-inspired cocktails. It's evident that the mixologists here have a deep appreciation for local flavours, as every drink was a delightful surprise. Whether you're a cocktail connoisseur or just looking to try something new, this is the place to be. What truly sets them apart, though, is the generous hospitality. The staff makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Their knowledge of the cocktails is exceptional and it’s clear that they are passionate about what they do, and it's infectious. Cheers to this gem!

I love the creativity behind the drink menu, with each concoction drawing inspiration from local icons. It’s a clever way to add a narrative twist to the drinking experience. The ambiance is understated yet cozy, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed evening. Looking forward to my next visit to explore more of their unique drink selections!

Great place for innovative drinks. First ordered off of their special seasonal menu, and had an awesome drink with black sesame and black pepper with mango and vodka. Then the lychee Martini from the happy hour menu. And during happy hour? Free chicken sandos. Will try this place again for sure.

Nutmeg & Clove at is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable drinking experience. From the moment you step inside, you are transported to a different time and place, with the restaurant's chic decor and chill ambiance. The menu is equally impressive, with a range of delicious and innovative cocktails that are expertly crafted by the talented bartenders. Each drink is a work of art, with a perfect balance of flavors and ingredients that are sure to delight your taste buds. The food at Nutmeg & Clove is also exceptional, with a range of dishes that are inspired by traditional Singaporean cuisine. The flavors are bold and complex, with each dish showcasing the best of local ingredients and cooking techniques. But what really sets Nutmeg & Clove apart is the service. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about what they do, and they go above and beyond to ensure that every guest has a truly memorable experience. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night or a fun night out with friends, this bar is sure to impress. Highly recommended!

Located just upstairs of GEM bar, this place has a very interesting take on cocktails. The drinks are listed by type of flavor (e.g. sweet potato, grapefruit, etc) and they offer two variants of the flavor. One of considered the more traditional, while the other is their interpretation of that flavor. Okay pricing as far as this part of town goes (17-25 per cocktail if memory serves) and very nice ambience. The only minor thing is that you can feel GEM Bar's bass through the floor, but that's not their fault. Check it out!

Love this place! Cocktails are $25 each and each drink has its own backstory/context. Some of the bartenders have won regional competitions and have worked in some of the top bars in the world (I swear this isn't an ad) 🤣 Staff is all very friendly, music is vibing, atmosphere is cozy, definitely recommend!

We came to Nutmeg & Clove for a team celebration after a job well done! What better way than with a few cocktails. And it delivered. Delicious cocktails, both on and off menu, and brought to you with a smooth service. The general atmosphere is a nice bustling bar vibe, although a pinch load at times. But no complaints, we loved it. The food is nicely accompanying the drinks, yet clearly the cocktails are the star. So depending on who you ask, feedback on the dishes will be mixed. For me it’s not what I’d recommend as there is a gap between the supreme high level of cocktails, and average food. My team enjoyed it though.

Being one of the top 50 bars in Asia, the cocktails are 25 SGD each. The namesake cocktail. (Nutmeg & Clove) is a must-try. The staff are super friendly and it’s one of the most efficient bars I’ve ever seen. Definitely on my list of go-to hangouts in SG!

An absolutely incredible dive through Singaporean culture via cocktails!! The ‘For the Love of Kueh’ and the ‘Oh My Jasmine’ were both brilliant, the service was incredible, and the ambiance was A+!

This cocktail bar is a true gem! It has some of the best cocktails I have tried (and they have strong competition in Singapore). Sampled multiple cocktails, and each was excellent (Yuzu highball, Golden Charm, Garden City, and King & Queen). There are some creative combinations (e.g., pandan, durian) for those who want it. Bar offers some light bites (truffle fries were fabulously truffle-y!). Entire staff was super attentive. Have a happy hour menu until 7:30 pm too. Will definitely be back!

Great place super friendly bartenders/staff. Didn’t have food but want to. The drinks are very good, a little pricey for my liking but are made with high quality ingredients and to detail and craftsmanship so kind of justifying the price. All of this without a hint of pretentiousness- would recommend and plan to come back!

Amazing service, a brilliant new menu showcasing a slice of singapore. As a lover of mezcal & tequila, "Can Bubble Gum" is definitely a stand out drink but my favorite of the night was for sure "K.T.V.". Some of the friendliest bartenders I've had the pleasure of being served by, too. thank you Sylvia & Nelson!

Good place to hand out with friends in town. Didn't know there is happy hour till 7pm and we miss it by 2 mins!!! Thought it would be nice if the service staff could inform us since we are seated from 645 onwards. We only had 2 hours and the staff kept a good job of repeatedly reminding us, asking for last orders and etc. Guess there was last mins cancellation and we are allowed to stay. Good bar food but will give the Chong qing chicken wing a miss.

Came here on the night of 23rd December 2021 to celebrate a birthday. Really poor experience: - Staff took 25 minutes to find us a table, despite us arriving on time for our reservation. We were shuffled between three different temporary seats in the meantime. - We only ordered 2 drinks, but they still took 45 minutes to arrive - We were told that it was a busy night because there was a media table, but the waitstaff were socialising at, and even sharing drinks with, said media table. They were visibly inebriated and one of them even dropped a glass right in front of us. - The music was so loud that my partner had to leave with a lingering headache. We could not hear each other talking. Staff refused to turn the music down. Would not return again.

Just recently awarded Asia's 50 Best Bar. So definitely worth the try. I like that the bar is not your typical dark ambiance. Layout feels more like a cafe, so it's perfect for catching up with friends. Drinks is very good and they do have happy hour. The yuzu high ball and negroni is very good. The light food menu is also not bad, but the pie tee is super salty. Otherwise the papadam, carrot cake and mee Siam is good.

instagram: mixologyreport Nutmeg & Clove 7.5/10 innovative drinks based on Singapore culture. very interesting combinations and quite high quality cocktails. the food is average considering the price. service is amazing. during happy hour there’s also complimentary fried chicken sandwich, and they offered us some warm & savory chicken broth toward the end of day. Michael Jackson’s Punch, $20 ingredients: roku gin, fernet branca, braulio, clarified soy milk taste: at every hawker centre, a curious drink can be ordered, nicknamed the Michael Jackson. neither black or white, its elements are refreshingly cooling on a hot day. this uplifting drink over a block of ice takes its herbaceous and piney character from Braulio, a true Alpine amaro, combined with the refreshing bitters from Fernet. uncannily, it tastes just like the soy-grass jelly drink it is inspired by. Can Bubble Gum, $20 ingredients: código mezcal, strawberry, lemon, distilled Tabasco, bubble gum air taste: in keeping with the spirit of the law, this deceptively pretty cocktail packs a big punch! the base of strawberry and mint gets its edge from smoky Mezcal, creating the perfect foil for a smoky build up of distilled tabasco bitters in the light and airy 'smoke' cover. Nutmeg & Clove, $20 ingredients: black tears spiced rum, gula melaka, lemon, egg white, cream, nutmeg & clove, london essence ginger ale taste: similar to a gin fizz, this drink tastes quite dessert like and even comes with a cookie bar. the taste of gin is almost non existent, and is a great drink to be paired with their savory food. founded by industry veteran Colin Chia, Nutmeg & Clove is a restaurant & cocktail bar that pays homage to Singapore’s rich history with their modern singapore cuisine and progressive cocktail program awards: world’s 50 best bars: #90 in 2019 asia’s 50 best bars: #32 in 2020

The cocktail menu is inspired by people who have influenced SG culture or put SG on the global stage. Its fun reading through the inspirations and getting a mini cultural learning w each cocktail. If you go during happy hour, they give you a small serving complimentary crispy chicken sandwich, it was delicious. The server was so friendly.

Great bar in bugis area, the cozy interior and friendly staff. Absolute yikes. Waited 45min for 6 drinks. Drinks sitting at the bar counter waiting to be served. Another 20min for an order of Garden City they forgot to write down. They also charge a hideous $28 for mocktails, to which they have no menu for and I will never understand. We ordered two mocktail versions of cocktails of the menu and without the alcohol, they charge not less but $3 extra?? Preposterous. Drinks weren't spectacular either. Mind you, they don't know how to serve a stirrer with drinks like Nutmeg&Clove, or a White Russian.

Slightly underwhelming cocktails. They are creative for sure but didn't hit the spot as I was hoping. Plenty of other awesome Singapore bars that more than do the trick.

Went there during social hour and the chicken sandwiches were delicious. I don’t normally enjoy sandwiches, but they do such a great job with theirs with the bread nicely toasted. I had the Ondeh Ondeh Highball, Nutmeg and Clove as well as Oh my Jasmine. I love Oh my Jasmine the most. I would say to skip the Ondeh Ondeh highball as it tasted mostly like just coconut water to me. Also ordered the Kra Pow Pie Tee which was amazing. Would definitely recommend.

First time visited on a friday evening, place was packed and lively. Went in without reservation before 7pm and was introduce to their social drink and compliementary sandwich. My partner and I order their Old-Fashioned, Oneh Oneh highball, Chong qing chicken wing and nutmag cocktail. Very satisfied and impressed with their cocktails. Old-Fashioned tasted better after water down a little. Nutmeg cocktail was also amazing and refreshing. For the food, the wings was great! but it can overwhelm your cocktail taste, so would recommend to avoid. Unfortunately, not able to try their sandwich, as we didnt request for it?? even though we ordered before 7pm. Nevertheless, will still be back to try other cocktails in the future!

Really enjoyed this cocktail bar. Extensive menu with creative cocktails, the Airwaves was very well made. If you go during happy hour they serve free crispy chicken sandwiches (you have to ask). The service was friendly and quick. We went early around 6pm and think the ambiance would be more bar vibes if we had gone later (vs. restaurant).

Such a great place—you have to be if you can make an excellent durian cocktail. We also had the duck rice arancini that was truly out of this world. Can’t wait to return next time we’re in Singapore.

A cosy bespoke bar with really cool and interesting local themed/ tasting cocktails! I had the Maxwell Martini which tasted exactly like hainanese chicken rice, pretty mind blowing. The bartender Daryl was very friendly and attentive when designing bespoke drinks for us. Catering to our tastebuds accordingly. We had a very memorable night and will highly recommend cocktail lovers or non lovers to drop by for a local tasting cocktail!

We were looking for a place to have a Singapore Sling while in Singapore (yes I know) and kept finding this place recommended. It's an upstairs bar in the middle of an area full of bars, but compared to the loud music and hubbub on the street it's surprisingly calm and relaxed, and the mood lighting reinforces that. The cocktails were very good and the other ones on the menu looked extremely interesting - twists on classics inspired by traditional food of the main ethnic groups in Singapore. If you want a good cocktail then you can't go far wrong here.

Place is pretty good with variety of refreshing cocktails. Its rather small and hence can feel rather crowded and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the tables are also kinda close next to each other, so imagine you are seated next to a large group or talkative people! Prices wise, it’s ok. The serving is rather on the small size so guess it makes up for the price level. It’s a place where you go for one or maybe two drinks and head elsewhere. Hard to sit there for hours.

This was the first cocktail bar we've tried in Singapore this year. We had read about the recommendations and I must say that I was very happy with our visit here. The cocktails are versions of the classic ones, but they have enchanced them in different ways. The bartender was very friendly and gave us great tips and recommendations for our stay in Singapore. The bar is pretty dark and cozy. It's a great place to start your evening!

Wife and I visited after seeing Nutmeg & Clove on a top 50 bars in Asia list. The drinks definitely lived up to the hype. Lots of complex flavours that were expertly balanced. Biggest gripe was that their martini glasses weren't served frozen. The food was nice but nothing special. I'd recommend this to a friend (and a bunch of internet strangers).

Service and ambiance are still great but drinks have deteriorated since my last few visits. Most cocktails were served with ice chips, which was unfortunate. Still a great place for a tipple in the bustling area. On a side note, sours were served with ice but if you're not a fan of that, be sure to mention it.

Attentive staff, high-end but not pretentious vibes, and a truly fascinating cocktail list. Prices are expectedly high but there's good value for select cocktails during happy hour so consider that option for the price conscious drinker.
