Worst experience of escape room ever. 1. The staff was not friendly at all whenever we asked them to repeat the clue. 2. We were left in the room after the game is finish for about 10-15minutes while they should have fetch us and get us out. 3. Staffs were rude and really did not helpful on explaining the clue like players are some kind of stupid. 4. Some of the props are broken, e.g. the lock was stuck so player cannot advance to the next stage, even when we use the right combination (confirmed by the staff after, need to force a bit to open it) Really not recommended to go to here, better find somewhere else to play the escape room. Hope that they will improve, esp. the lady in the counter who was EXTREMELY RUDE and NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL.

Went there for a team bonding session with colleagues. While it's fun to play with my colleagues, the puzzles were not well designed and it's very hard to link one to another. Both the staff we encountered were super unfriendly. Wouldn't spend the money to go by myself for sure.

Excellent game location. Came here with a friend and we had a lot of fun with Hansel and Gretel. We weren't very good at the game so we had to ask for hints, but at least we managed to get out in time. The puzzles are not overly hard, but there are a few small things that are not super obvious (which is why we needed the hints). Overall, very fun with a fair price and recommend to come here if you have an hour or two to kill.

It was my first time going here but this is going to be my last. It was really a bad experience. The staffs were all very rude and unprofessional especially the lady boss sitting at the counter. My friends and I arrived a little bit late from our scheduled time so we were expecting our time to be cut down but the lady boss said that it's no longer available because we were late and said that in a angry tone. She was also bossing around and instructing her staffs in a rude manner. The process from the checking in to the end is really not organized and messy. We were asked to only keep our valuable belongings in the locker but just leave all of our bags unattended in the open space which the safety of our stuffs is still not totally guaranteed. We were not briefed properly because the instructions/clues are not obvious or complete so the entire time we were lost and stuck. However, we were allowed to ask and press the button for hints every 15 mins but the staff was annoyed at us when we pressed the hint button for the first time. Instead of giving us hints, he just drop the answers without explaining either. Some of the props are not in safe condition (colourful balls) and we need to jump into a space to the entrance for the game where they could atleast provide a staircase instead of jumping down. The lighting in the room also hinders the clue search. When our time is up for the game, they didn't come to fetch us instead we have to wait about 10-15mins for someone to come and let us out. When we came out, the staffs outside are just doing their own business and just let us take our stuffs without even smiling or trying to help us with our stuffs and they didn't even say thank you for coming or anything instead just sit there playing their phone. Not recommended at all. Not even worth the price im paying for with the standard and treatment they gave.

The rooms are fun, not very hard. We did the hitman theme. Found out who kill my wife. More pocket money now. Good place, good price & helpful staff.

Did Prestige: Movie Magic 1) Staff was unenthusiastic and unclear when introducing the story. Can't understand what is being said. 2) 6 puzzles total in two rooms. The rooms weren't well decorated (super unimmersive) and badly lit, which affected our ability to see the right colours properly. 3) The electronic portion broke completely near the end of our room, the staff came in and after a while said it required a complex fix, so we ended up skipping two puzzles. Conclusion: we were let out 20 minutes before the given duration due to a fault in the room, weren't given any compensation. Room itself was unimpressive and worth way less than ticket price. 1/10, not recommended. Slipping on the wet floor outside the shopping centre gave me more thrills than the room, and didn't cost over 20$ to do so.

Went for [Murder on the Singapore express] Girlfriend brought me here as a surprise for my birthday, and I had such a good time. Great activity to bond over, as well as to work as a team. The puzzles were clever, and challenging without being overly difficult. It was very satisfying when we managed to escape the room just in the nick of time.

Had a fantastic time with my friends in the Fantastic Beasts room. The puzzles were definitely challenging but solvable (only after lots of debate and headaches!), and the time allocated was just right. Great design that fans of the show will definitely appreciate. The gentleman at the counter was also very kind and responsive when we asked for a hint. All in all a very well-planned escape room and one of my favourite ones I’ve been to.

Shockingly unwelcoming staff. Two ladies at reception when we arrived. We hadn't booked as it was a spontaneous decision. We looked online and saw they had a room available (Hansel and Gretel). We were so excited! The excitement died when we were greeted with the most bored faces ever. It was like they didn't understand why we were there. We asked if the room was indeed available they said yes. But again no smile, no welcoming feeling, no excitement. We went to our room, which is not sound proof. You can hear children shouting and playing around. Anyway, we did the puzzles which were very easy (very!). The H&G theme was very poorly executed. The decor was lollypops and doughnuts and we had to find their smartphone which they left inside the witches house (?). They could have done so much more with the decor (a gingerbread house!!). We finished the room with 15 minutes left on the clock which would have been 20 minutes if we wouldn't have missed a very silly thing (my fault). We didn't need any tips. If you finish an escape room with so much time left you expect the staff to get excited for you with "wow congratulations!! Well done! How did you like it?". But nothing. The lady at reception just took the phone we found and sat down and ignored us. It was the biggest anticlimax. No picture, compliment, smile,... We just walked out (not even a "Goodbye see you next time"). We took a selfie ourselves next to the logo of the escape room. It was so disappointing. The room is easy and there's only really one path to follow (not like in some good ones where you have different things going on at different times). But that's okay, the main disappointment was the staff. Would not go back!

Really great experience today! We went for the murder on the Singapore express room, and the puzzles were genuinely intriguing and fun to solve :) the staff were also very helpful and friendly! 10/10 would recommend, would also love to try out their other rooms!

What a captivating (pardon the pun) way to escape not just the room but reality itself, albeit for a short while. Maybe we found it super fun because we solved the Murder of the Singapore Express with minimal hint(s) and well within time. Teamwork truly makes the dream work. Per Sherlock Holmes, "The world is full of obvious things which nobody by any chance ever observes." 🕵️

Really fun experience! Do look up reviews of the different rooms available for the difficulty and overall rating of each room. Staff is polite and friendly. The conditions of the furniture and rooms may be a bit old, which kind of removes the immersion.

I went with a group of friends and the escape room we chose was alien vs humans. Overall we had a lot of fun. I wouldn't say that the difficulty of the room is very high, it should be quite manageable. My friends and I managed to blast the alien eggs to outer space and save humanity within an hour. Everything was pretty exhilarating and i will definitely go back there again with them to try out the other rooms.

Attempted the 'Labyrinth' room and was unfortunately not enamored by the experience. Within the room itself, the story was basically nonexistent and the escape motivations were completely unrelated to the puzzles faced. The context of being in Changi prison/morgue bodies missing/we're on death row/we're detectives who have been caught - none were applicable to the puzzles faced. The room was small and simple with little to no design to immerse players in the scene. Most of the puzzles and locks seemed arbitrarily selected and inappropriate for the room. The staff were excellent: professional, courteous, and well-versed!

I had an incredible experience at Captivate Escape Room, thanks to our fantastic game host, Marco. He truly elevated the entire adventure with his enthusiasm, clever hints, and attention to detail. Marco's dedication to ensuring we had a memorable time was outstanding. We managed to escape, and it was all thanks to his guidance. I would highly recommend Captivate Escape Room, and specifically, Marco as your game host for an unforgettable adventure! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Played both the MRT line and Wednesday Addams room with just one friend, and we escaped both with the help of the walkie talkie. 😂 Loved the props in Wednesday’s room! Was so much fun, and the counter ladies were so calm and kind. (:

Great service and explanation of the room. They even accommodated my request to help charge my phone whilst I was in the escape room, which I really appreciated. The puzzles were interesting and localised into Singapore context whilst maintaining some fictional aspect that gave us a storyline to follow. Would prefer if the puzzles were more story-based to be extra immersive and perhaps to have more maintenance done on the props and set pieces to fit the narrative better. But all in all, it was an exciting experience for my first escape room — especially considering it was for a birthday day-out for my boyfriend. (Room: Murder on Singapore Express)

I did the Wednesday Addams room, and felt that it was not worth it for $30. the last door malfunctioned and we were unable to get out despite completing all the clues. (edit: it seems like this has happened to other people in the reviews). Additionally, the walkie talkie did not work despite it being turned to the right channel, and we were unable to ask for clues.

The friendly staff, Syara, made the experience a good one! Went for The Hitman room, which had some puzzles that were a little non-intuitive and requiring some strange leaps of logic, but overall experience was quite fun! We used up the 3 hints and needed 1 more extra hint to escape within the time limit. Makes me want to try more escape rooms!

Very good experience! This was our first time trying out escape room just me and my nephew so we took a while to understand how the puzzles work or the logic but the puzzles were great and fun to do. It's more challenging to do as a pair only but we had so much fun we end up did three rooms in one day. If you are new and beginner to this, I recommend the easier rooms to start with like hansel and gretel. Staff were very friendly and helpful and make the experience much better. They also walk us through and allow for little bit of extension when they could. Awesome team. We were able to store our valuables in our lockers before the session so our phones and car keys and wallets are safely secured and they would check and remind us if we néed a toilet break before the session too. Will come back again after trying other escape rooms as well. Top notch!

Tried the Murder on Singapore Express. Great for beginners. Staff was generally helpful but perhaps missed out on explaining the first clue. Cant say much about the other rooms though. The rooms may probably need a refresh.

Tried the fantastic beast room. Tech used was good but some puzzles were a bit vague. Main reason for 2 stars is due to safety. Initial entry to the room is via a drop, the ball pit below invites a drop off but the depth is shallow and the flooring is hard, i injured my heel while landing. Should consider a sign to inform landing slowly or place a mattress under the balls.

I brought 3 cousins of primary school age (I was the only adult). The 4 of us found the CSI Escape Room a tad difficult for their age but the staff was very helpful and patient with our constant need to ask for help. They also extended our time limit, knowing that we were having trouble figuring out the clues. It was my cousins' first time trying an Escape Room and though they got easily scared, they said they had tremendous fun!

Had a great experience playing here, recommend if y'all are looking for less scary escape rooms! Only issue we had with the escape room is with the sensitivity of some of the locks because it takes us a few tries to unlock a door or certain boxes because of the sensor.

Thank you Andy for booking the room and Choi Wan for leading us through it. :) The team had great time doing the Kingsmen room and were very grateful you could accommodate our farewell gift request to be included in the final puzzle. The room had a good mix of sensory, physical, mental and less intuitive puzzles to keep us engaged. Great fun! We'll be back soon!

The room for Fantastic Beast is very nicely designed, great job to the designer. We don't get some of the hints but we still had fun. We are glad to have Sya to brief us on the rules, she's so smiley and friendly. I would give it a 5 stars but we were rather affected by your staff SY. At first, she briefly explained the hints (with attitude) but we were still fine with it. Then eventually, it was like giving us the answers to the hints straight AND still with the attitude. Our happy experiences were slightly ruined. If without the attitude from your staff, i would say it's overall a very good experience.

We had so much fun at Captive. We started with Wednesday, had such a great time we then did Fantastics Beasts immediately after! We then returned the next day to do Kingsman and Hansel and Gretel. We were not as good as others on this forum, we never made it in time 🤣 however, as there was time and no one waiting, the staff let us play until completion, which was awesome. We will come back to finish the other rooms on our next visit here! Thanks for a fun time even when we were asking for all the clues, lol.

  • 3/5 siewpingg 7 months ago on Google
Overall, it was quite interesting, we were by right supposed to have only 3 hints but we were asking for more help nearing the end of our time but most staff were helpful and friendly but one of the staff looked like she hated her job and I hope she can find some joy :DD About the room: our room was more of murder mystery so there was no horror elements. There were alot of locks for us to solve and it was quite confusing which one was which. I think the clues given in the room should be clearer as to which hint was for which box (as in there were no sequence as to which can be solved so we really the help of the staff) Fun points: some of the activities of finding clues were quite interesting!

I did the new hitman room and it was so exceptionally well made. It had a very intriguing and well thought out story line to accompany it’s great puzzles. When: 25/11/2022 With: 9 colleagues in 1 room (department team bonding) What: - Mobile devices locked in locker, belongings placed on floor beside counter - Lacklustre introduction WORST OF ALL — FAULTY “HINT” BUTTON (bluetooth doorbell): - We could solve 2 out of 4 parts by 15 minutes but was stuck after - Pressed “HINT” button multiple times and no staff answered - ALL the doors were LOCKED - Knocked on doors loudly but no one answered - Shouted for help but no one answered - Jumped and waved to CCTV but no one answered - We were stuck in that dimly lot small room and cut off from the outside (no phones!) for the next 40 minutes No staff came to check our room for an entire 55 minutes. Only at 5 minutes before the end of session did a staff come to check if we were finishing. Told her that the “HINT” button was not working. She did not know. She then gave all the remaining hints in an impatient manner. When front counter staff was asked about this, she said she didn’t notice because [the staff] “were all running around”. What if someone had fainted inside and we needed attention? What if there was a fire and no one came to unlock the doors for us to escape? Speaking of fire, there was no fire extinguisher in the locked room. Given the major lack of safety and fire precautions, I will not return and I strongly do not recommend anyone to visit this place. As for the actual game, I do not recommend spending your time and money in this place. Try somewhere else! Would have rated 0/5 if Google review allowed me to.

A total disappointment. The place looked run down and the posters on the wall needs to be replaced. It looks like so many people had tore it off to solve the mystery. My group of 7 needed to solve puzzles but instead we had to call the customer service for help. The items was faulty like the cabinet door won't open and the weighing scale was NOT WORKING! And that was the main item needed to solve the mystery. In the end the staffs just gave us the answers! No fun at all and not worth your money!

(Translated by Google) Actually, I wanted to give one point, but I was patient. I went with a friend and the staff was really unkind and the issues were unkind. The problems were not probable, but most were obscure problems that had nothing to do with the story. The most important thing is the attitude of the staff, and the one who looks like the boss asked us to solve it without asking us for a hint because we are students. Worst customer service/service. A room escape cafe that is not recommended. Most of the questions were not connected to the story of the room, and the lady at the desk was very rude. She scolded towards us as she was our teacher and told us to try solving the quiz before calling her for hint. I wonder if she would said that if we were adults. Anyways, i wouldn't recommend for students to come to this escape room. Was slightly disappointed as the venue was poorly signposted, quite tried and dirty it desperately needs a paint job and some new furniture the lounge looked like it may have a heartbeat. When we arrived they were not ready and had not reset the room - despite having g 3 days notice. The room itself was quite good however one of the doors wasn’t reset properly and messed up our sequence of puzzles. Staff did seem a bit disinterested before and after with McDonald’s orders everywhere and on their phones the whole time instead of talking with customers. Expected it to be a bit more professional / clean given its Singapore, but it was still fun and the group enjoyed it nonetheless. Puzzles were sufficiently difficult.

Not good, not bad either. We got "black out" and got out in 30min+ without clues... 75 min is extremely generous time for the challenge in there. So definetly stick with "no clues challenge" and it is okay. May be good for team building activities, but the staff needs to improve their attitude a bit.

A little janky, but otherwise a great place for the price. The puzzles were a little on the easier side (but fun easy) though a tad tricky. The apparatus were a little wonky with a few props spoilt by previous patrons and one puzzle didnt make sense. But the plot twist at the end made my day. Suitable for 2 people play as well. Definitely give this place a try!

I went for the Magic Emporium. It's small but fun and the staff were really helpful. We came in for a later session (started around 8pm) and they gave us some extra time because we were the only players there.

Had a great time at Captivate Escape Room. Puzzles were tough but not too tough, story was well thought out.

Did the alien vs human escape room. The puzzles were not bad. But the customer service staff, especially the lady at the desk was very rude and unwelcoming. My friends and I like the rooms but will not be coming back due to the rude service.

Did the Labyrinth and FBI rooms with my family (total five adults) and it was really intriguing and fun - but some of the puzzles were quite tattered so it was hard for us to read and gather information from those to move on. We had 75 minutes to break out of each room which was great because we always spend the first 15 minutes searching high and low for any clues and discussing what we are all trying to solve. We had to ask for a clue because we could not identify one of the puzzles - it was faulty and the lady who came in to assisted us added the time lost back to us which was nice. Overall, I think the rooms are alright apart from some of its tattered puzzles and clues (which can lead to a lot of clueless waiting). Some of the puzzles were really good and it really made us worked together as a team! The only thing that disappoint is the sound quality of each room, as we can hear other groups shouting from the other rooms.

Captivate's escape rooms are a solid diversion. The puzzles are tricky but solvable and the stories are engaging. I can't give Captivate five stars because the wear and tear on the rooms is pretty bad and staff tends to be there to do the minimum and nothing more - we had to track someone down and ask them to take our photo after we finished the room, and one time we went, the escape room made zero sense because the staff member didn't orient us with the background we needed for the story. Aside from these drawbacks, the experience is fun overall.

We had so much fun! my brother and I did the CSI room. The puzzles were challenging but doable, it helped us bond and we managed to find our way out (using a few clues). Would definitely recommend going.

Loved it!! Going back next time I visit Singapore! The puzzles flow well and the staff were so helpful when we got stuck. It was so immersive and puzzles fit with the theme! It was overall a great experience! Wish I had more time in Singapore so I could try more of their rooms.

had a really fun time solving the clown room. the game is perfect for team building and improving communication. i've been to many escape rooms and the concept for each room was well-thought out. highly recommend this escape room for medium sized groups

Very nice room concepts. It was quite the challenge and really fun. However some of the mechanisms inside were quite old so it got stuck.

This place was so shaggy and weird. Literally the staff didn’t know where our locker was!!! it was so bad, easy, and overpriced. I recommend the one in Plaza Singapura called Freeing Sg. Its wayyy better there.

The escape room team-building activity was super thrilling, exciting and fun! Keat Hong CSC had a fantabulous time together...we cracked our brains, we hunted for every possible clue...some good some silly and we laughed, but we did stay focused and worked as a team. The team to finish it off like a professional CSI team solving a big crime. FINALLY escaping the crime scene. ????????

I've done almost all their escape rooms and they're all pretty fun! The booking system is simple and there's no cash needed upfront:)

Poor soundproofing and we could literally hear them laughing amongst themselves, talking about “last night experiences” clubbing and whatnot which ruined the experience for us while doing the fbi room, story didn’t make sense and hints weren’t well given. Would not recommend.

Puzzles that you can solve by making smart guesses and laughter of the staff can be heard through the poorly sound proofed environment

We have enjoyed our time at the captivate escape rooms. We tried the Hansel and Gretel the first time and loved it so much. The Murder at Singapore express was also good, the clues need a good knowledge about the Singapore MRT system. The staff were very helpful and provided us with clues whenever we needed.
