We had a guided tour with Jan through three traditional quarters of Singapore. The tour was full with very interesting details of history, religion, mentalities. We make some stops with nice food testings. Get practical Tipps about the city and we are in company of other nice people. It was a honour for me as a tour guide, dear Jan, to take part in that group. Biggest compliment from your German colleague Armin.

My mother, father, grandmother and girlfriend went on Singapore Uncut tour which was one of the interesting tours I have done to date. On top of seeing some of the interesting parts of Singapore was Jan our guide who brought amazing energy and passion to the tour with his entertaining delivery and deep knowledge of the local areas. Would recommend anyone coming to Singapore.

Fantastic walking tour! It provided a great overview of some popular spots in Singapore including Chinatown, Little India and Kampong Glam. Our tour guide Jan was friendly, enthusiastic and very informative. We also had the opportunity to taste some local foods/snacks. Would highly recommended this tour.

Great walking tour to get some knowledge of the Singapores 3 areas of down town. Roy was a very kind and informative guide. Recommended to start your visit with a tour like that and come back to see places after the tour.

Took Jan's 3-hour Pinch of Singapore tour and loved it. Jan is very knowledgeable about the three cultural districts we visited, as well as, Singapore in general. Glad to have taken it on my first full day in Singapore. I feel more comfortable exploring the city on my own now. Would recommend anyone visiting Singapore. The picture attached is the "pagoda", but not really (Pagoda Street).

Jan is a friendly, affable and knowledgeable tour guide who adds a lovely personal touch to our experience. We did the Vanishing Craftsmen tour and found it highly informative, engaging and a rare glimpse into older Singapore. We came away from this experience with a lot more that we could possibly have expected. Highly recommend this, will be back for another tour soon!

Nice tour of Singapore covering 3 ethnic communities, Chinatown, India town and Arab town. She shows how diverse communities can work and live together. We tried some different foods and drinks during our tour as well as bathrooms breaks. Overall a great tour.

Probably the best walking tour I've ever had. I've gotten an amazing oberview about the older districts of Singapore and its history. The tour includes some delicious local snacks/drinks. Jan is an amazing tour guide with broad knowledge about Singaporean history, geography, archtecture, society, and food. Could answer all questions I had, and believe me...I had a LOT of questions 😂😂 You can tell that he really is experienced. Would rate the tour even higher if possible! 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽

Jan is bubbly and enthusiastic. He brought lots of fun and laughter as he showcases a different facet of Jalan Besar through this "uncut" tour of the charming neighbourhood. I strongly recommend anyone to join his walking tours for an authentic experience of the neighbourhood!

Went for a daring adventure of Off Beat's After Dark tour at Jalan Besar. This tour shed light to the unspoken, unsurfaced and under appreciated side of the vicinity that made me see Jalan Besar beyond the area of hipster cafe and hidden vintage/thrift gems. This is a very unusual tour that challenge the concept of familiarity, nationhood, blindspots of society, and in a greater sense, resilience......... that left me feeling an oddly sense of comfortable dissonance. The tour is much like a realism masterpiece, that seems to comforts the disturbed, and disturbs the comfortable.

Really great walking tour, Jan is very up beat and eccentric and he is happy to answer all questions. I’ve done a few walking tours and I really appreciate how he involves everyone in the tour, I would class myself as introverted and he still made me feel comfortable to talk! He covered the three main areas of Singapore and gave us great recommendations on where to eat and go that only a local would know. If you’re only in Singapore for a short time, highly recommend taking the tour!

Jan provided an excellent historical insights into the three main quarters of Singapore. He was knowledgeable on general Singaporean life, politics, social and economics. No question went unanswered. He was thoughtful and considerate of the various nationalities on the tour. The snacks are were memorable!

Jan was an incredibly dynamic, informative and fun guide. He fed us amazing food and gave us a great insight into the Singaporean mentality and the amazing ascent of Singapore as a nation. Maslow might be involved…A lot of food for thought and yummy snacks for our stomach. 100% recommend!!!

The tour was incredible!! We went through the three most important areas in Singapore. And the explanation, information, history we got from them it was really interesting. We got a very good overview of the country, the culture, the people. I totally recommend it if you have not so many days in this country. You will get everything you need to know. And not only recommendations or history, there were also local snacks and beverage included. That was really thoughtful from him. We really enjoyed the almost 3 hours of the walk. I must admit that the weather was overwhelming, but he managed to give us airco breaks in the middle. Oh and he also provided us with fan. Really helpful!!! We loved it!!

Highly recommend this tour to those looking for a unique local tour experience! There's so much to learn about Jalan Besar, from its shady past to the present gentrification. Thanks to Jan's engaging storytelling, there wasn't a dull moment during the 2.5h tour.

Jan was amazing! We did a 3 hour pay-as-you-wish walking tour with him and it was the best thing we did in the less than 24 hours we had in Singapore. He is so well- prepared for anything, has a solution for any issue coming up during the tour and is so well-informed! Highly recommend his walking tour!!

this tour was so good! my friends and i had an awesome time, Jan is so friendly and open minded. down with the kids 🤙🏽(we’re in our early 20s haha) easy with pronouns/queer topics in a non intrusive way :-) he was interesting to talk to and bounce opinions about politics, history, religion- he knows it all! we did this tour even though we had spent some time in Singapore already, but he took us in stride and included us and gave relevant info when he could. relaxed from the get go, great people person, awesome tour!

This tour is really great for visitors to Singapore. We learned so much and visited such beautiful places. Jan is an amazing guide - so kind and really considered what we wanted to get out of the tour. Highly recommend!

The sunset tour is quite disappointing. The story of the tua yi ya peh has nothing to do with the singapore rivers. Along the way, we see small little shrines but these shrines have also nothing to do with the singapore rivers. The tour itself should be refined. I will not go again and I will not recommend anyone else to go. The guide, Jan though, tries his best to relate the story of tua yi ya peh. He is an experienced guide who tries his best to engage the audiences. But as the quality of the tour is not good, there is also a limitation of what he can do.

Jan is friendly and has great knowledge of the Jalan Besar area. The walking tour opened my eyes to hidden spots that I would never have come across on my own. I enjoyed the positive energy and pace of the tour. Would recommend anyone looking to learn something new and interesting about Singapore to go on a tour with Jan.

Jan's Singapore Uncut tour was a fantastic experience for the three of us. Although I'd grown up near Jalan Besar and am familiar with Singapore urban history, the stories relayed by Jan were new to me and very fascinating. It's clear that Jan is really passionate about the area and we really appreciated his dedication and curiosity in personally investigating the lesser known stories of the area. The tour was well-paced, fun, personal and we had a great time in spite of (or perhaps because of) the intermittent rain. I would highly recommend Jan's tours to anyone looking for something a little off the beaten track. 🙂

Signed up for the Vanishing Crafts walking tour around Jalan Besar using the Singapore Rediscover Vouchers. Jan was incredibly understanding and accommodating in arranging and recommending tour dates. There was constant communication and updates to keep us in the loop. The tour itself was an eye opening experience. We visited about 3-4 spots to understand the historical significance of that speicifc place and how it how it has changed through times. There was an interesting mix of unassuming places which helps highlights the parts of history that is overlooked. This tour made me want to take up more tours with Jan to rediscover other neighbourhoods in Singapore!

Jan is an interesting tour guide. He took me to hyper local places and shared many deep and interesting things with me. It enabled me to see Singapore from a more local point of view instead of just being a tourist. If anyone likes digging more into Singapore’s local life, culture, or even just want to make friends, I highly recommend Jan’s tour!

Amazing experience with Jan Chow. The tour really showed us the lesser know side of Singapore, one that we locals commonly miss. It was really nice that personal experiences and stories were shared, which made for a really interesting and eye opening experience. Will 100% recommend.

Absolutely loved this tour with Jan. We covered Chinatown, Little India and Kampong Glam in 4 hours at the nicest pace for a family of 5 adults and 2 kids. Have been to many walking tours across the world; this one ranks up there amongst the best. Jan is charismatic and accommodating and this tour was worth every penny. Don't think about it, just do it! See a side of Singapore away from Marina Bay and gain an extensive knowledge of the real city state.

LOVED our time with Jan on our tour of Singapore. He is knowledgeable, professional, open, honest, and very funny and fun to be with. He managed to keep all of us engaged from the first moment to the last. We only had a short time in Singapore and we felt informed and far more knowledgeable after our time with Jan. It was the highlight of our time here. Thank you Jan for sharing your beautiful city/state with us. We loved our time together. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great and unusual tour of parts of Singapore that are off the beaten track. It is thought-provoking, thought-challenging (in a good way) and presented with a great deal of humour. You scratch the underbelly of Singapore - hearing of activities that are not usually exposed to tourists or even to locals. You see the many sides of Singapore within a relatively short distance. It is a city of many facets that are changing rapidly and the tour helps uncover the more hidden aspects. Jan is passionate about his city of Singapore and balances the tour well for the people in the group.

Jan was a fantastic guide. It was a unique experience to see the backalleys of the Jalan Besar neighbourhood - something that people don't think about first hand when they think about Singapore. The walking tour is a must to understand the rich diversity and unseen grunginess that the country and its stories have to tell.

Jan was knowledgeable, friendly, fun and altogether interesting. He knows his stuff. Whether you're a local or a tourist you will be entertained. He always encourages questions. Unfortunately try as I may I was unable to stump him with my questioning. Much recommended.
