Refused to give a small tap water with coffee! Great location, a good mix of business, young hipsters and everything mixing together. Good bagels as well. But refusal to give a small glass of tap water to go with coffee. That’s the little piece that says it all about a place. It doesn’t hurt your bottom line!!! But it says a lot about your class and customer care. The French do it, the Americans do it, the Germans do it. You’ll probably get more business from it. That piece gets you two stars instead of five.

The place is well located, and the coffee is quite good. But how loud is the music! Even noise-cancellation headphones on, you can’t focus on anything. Same as many others reviewers: even when asked to lower the volume, the staff simply says that they can’t. Definitely not coming back because of that, which really is a pity because the place is very nice otherwise.

I used to come here to telework and liked the place.... But now there is no internet available and we were told by the staff that the reason is that too many people are already connected. However, the place is pretty much empty. Very disappointed, won't be coming back as I know places with similar coffee quality and better choice of cakes.

Only in Brussels would you find a cafe that removes the WiFi because they were having too many customers. Completely bizarre. You can’t work but. the music is also too loud to sit and read or to have a 1-to-1 meeting. I think they maybe actively trying to go out of business?? Completely alienating your customer base doesn’t really make sense to me đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

I find the place in Ch. de Charleroi very well thought and pleasant except some people that work in the cafe’. They are quite aggressive toward customers. I simply asked a question, the reason for which they play the music quite loud in the cafe’ when most people come there also to work
 at least 90%
The answer I received from one of the person working at the counter “This is the concept of the cafe if it’s not convenient to you sir you can go elsewhere! It’s a pity that people are not trained to be more customer friendly!

I walk in on a Sunday afternoon, order a latte and a muffin (specifically asked for the latte to be in a to-go paper cup even if i wanted to sit in and offered to pay more for it) the girl at the cash register hesitated, told me it’s not allowed but then let me order it. The girl at the coffee machine refused to make it because how dare i ask for a to-go paper cup when i want to sit in, she said it’s a question of ‘aesthetics’ as if i was looking for a beautiful coffee rather a good coffee, she still refused to make it, so i asked for a refund because i don’t think it’s a big deal if a client asks for a to-go paper cup in a COFFEE SHOP. She ended up making it, a 3rd waitress came and complained about it. By that time i was already over the coffee and felt extremely not welcomed. The latte was bad too, it had too much foam, anyone with a basic barista training should know that a latte only requires a thin layer of foam (not half a cup) i chugged it and left. So no i won’t come back, for the bad service and the bad coffee. Jat you still have a VERY long way to go in terms of costumer service.

Okay-ish coffee. Quite loud sitting area inside with many people working on their laptops. Service is terrible: first you order yourself, then you pick up your order yourself, and after you bring your order to the counter yourself. Not even a thank you. Employee behind the counter was rude and started screaming at me when I entered without showing my vaccination certificate first. I just wanted to say hi to my friend first. That's not a way to welcome a new customer. All in all, big McDonald's vibes on a drunk Friday night rule this cafe. Glad there are some good alternatives in the vicinity, because I won't be back.

Had a really awful experience here a couple of weeks ago. Ordered two bagels and mentioned no nuts (as I have a life threatening nut allergy) on both of them. The server did not understand, so I showed them my allergy card which explains in great detail about my allergy and how to prepare my dish and how my allergy affects me in French. She gave me a thumbs up, so I took this as a confirmation that she understood. When the food arrived, I still felt a bit uneasy and my partner opened his bagel to find pine nuts inside. Whilst he is not allergic, he does not eat any nuts products due to the possibility of cross contamination to myself. We decided to ask for a refund as we were not happy that they were both safe to eat. The server didn't really understand this and they started to make two new bagels minus the pine nuts. Whilst I appreciate they offered to make new food for us, at this point my anxiety was through the roof as I thought I had made it very clear with my allergy card that there were to be no nuts in either bagels. I begrudgingly ate the second bagel out of politeness. However I think if you are serving/making food, you should train all your staff in basic allergy awareness as the last thing I would want is for someone to accidentally eat something after they had been told it would be made specifically catered to their allergy requirements. As this could cost them their life!

Friendly service, good coffee, nice ambiance. A good place to sit and work, there are also sockets, although for some people music may be too loud to properly focus. However, a couple of people sitting around me were working on their laptops. I came here to gain some strength with a cup of coffee, charge my phone and plan with a guide book what to visit next.

Use to love this place, and it had nice music. But now the music is so loud it feels more of a bar/club. Impossible to have a conversation and hear each other over a cup of coffee or over lunch.

Beautiful, modern Café located just outside the Brussels city center. Staff members were accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Coffee was delicious, and the muffin we got was excellent. Definitely a great find, and will be sure to return next time I am in Brussels.

Nice Place to have a breakfast and work on my laptop. The music is a bit too loud for me to be productive while doing some serious remote office work. The place is clean, the toilets are in the basement (also clean) and the staff is friendly. I don't know If they have free and secure Wifi. I used my own mobile hotspot connection.

Like the music and cosiness. Attention: it’s not a quiet place. I love to work in there, but cannot read a book. Don’t come here to eat though, except if nothing else is open. Bagels are expensive when looking at their quality. I used to get a bunch of mint in the fresh mint tea, I wonder if that changed or if it was due to the service that day. Only got a leaf or 3.

This location is nice, but the music is too loud for any type of working/conversation... also as we came to telework we quickly noticed it was impossible due to Wi-Fi cutting off after 5 mins and the staffs unwillingness to do anything about it. It is not OK to charge several euros per coffee and then have no working Wi-Fi or quiet place to have a chat with your friend.

WOULD BE a nice place to sit and work for a while IF they had wifi, which they do not. That should be standard in 2022 đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž Bring noise cancelling headphones if you want to listen to your own music.

The café was an oasis of calm, staffed by delightful individuals who generously offered multiple recommendations. I would like to express my profound gratitude to them for taking the time to engage in conversation, and for sharing their insights with us as visitors to the city. In addition, they provide a complimentary artistic map, a charming touch that further enhances their unique appeal.

We visited Jat cafe for a nice Saturday morning breakfast. We tried the cappuccino, flat white coffee options. It was okay. I’d still recommend the coffee at the “Golden Bean cafe” which is bang opposite to Jat. The music is extremely loud like as if in a pub serving beers. The sandwiches were great.

This place have realy nice Bagel's, so if you looking for some breakfast/lunch its realy good. We also took hot Coco rekomended, not sweet at all. Price is okey, in this time of inflation. The employees seemed stressful even if there was non. If you looking for a quiet place to work at, this is not it, the Wi-Fi is also bugging.

Jat cafe is a pretty good coffee shop near the center of Brussels with bagels, desserts and even cold sandwiches. I ordered the matcha milkshake because I loveee matcha!! Overall the milkshake wasn’t that bad but I felt like it tasted a little too much like ice cream and needed to taste a bit more like matcha, the atmosphere was nice and the service was perfectly fine!

The place is really nice, it’s clean and spacious, it wasn’t too crowded
but as some have already mentioned the music is too loud for a conversation, i choose this place for a work meeting because it was open early and really central, unfortunately i won’t be going there again in that context. It was really hard to concentrate on the conversation because of volume and upbeat tempo of the music, it’s fine in a pub in the evening but not at 8.15 in the morning
i politely asked if the music could be turned down but was bluntly told “No”

It was a nice experience. Staff is great, relaxed and friendly. Eating in was quite expensive compared to a take out. Music a little loud but in general a nice late lunch. Muffins are great. The bagel selection could be bigger but they were still lovely and filling. Would recommend and go again!

The coffee is good but the music is far to aloud, doesn’t let you enjoy. When it’s crowded, it’s the worst because the noise of the people and the noise of the music ... when you go out to have a 4 euros capuccino is to have a relax moment not to get a headache

It’s a good coffee place to sit down or take away. Salads, sandwiches and desserts available. Yoghurt with fruits is very good. The problem here is the internet which is not available. Although stuff always claim that it is. Also pity that brunch disappeared after Covid.

It is a pretty awesome place for a coffee and some light lunch with soup or a bagel! It is very computer-friendly, too! On the negative side, their music is always TOO LOUD (not bad, but just bloody too loud - it is not a pub, it is a cafe?!) and it is hard to hear your friends or work. ALSO NO WI-FI!!

A very nice place in a lively location. More suitable for meeting friends than for work. Food is good, drinks are great, especially the healthy juices and smoothies. I would give it 5 starts if it wasn't for the super loud music! It is too much for one who would like to work there for more than 2 hours. It is even too much for people who would like to talk and chat, you can barely hear the others. I asked them to lower it down, but obviously it is part of their policy. Wifi was not working the day I went, I don't know if it is always the case.

Love the place. Had to work 1 day in Brussel out off office and found this place. Great food, coffee and atmosphere (not quiet though if you would require that). Internet was super. Sufficient tables, soft or regular chairs and power sockets. 10 minutes walk from central station.

Its very strategic, around 3-5 minutes walk from the Royal Museum of Fine Arts. Its a bit bigger and have more tables available compared to other cafe during brunch hours. When you enter the cafe you can directly choose your meal in the chiller (salads, cakes, pastry). The meals are good (although not the best, but excellent), the price is reasonable, the workers are really friendly! A good coffee break after strolling the museums for hours 😁

Loved this place and the service was great. The one star is for the audacity of charging 1€ extra for having plant-based milk instead of cow milk in your coffee. It’s 2023, nowhere is this an acceptable surcharge. I was gonna do 2 stars but the more I think about it the less sense it makes and the more enraged I get.

The seating is super comfortable and there's a plethora of delicious snacks and coffee. The only issue was the music was so loud it was hard to talk, and the staff said it was impossible to turn it down. Overall a great cafe, but if you want a more quiet place to read or chat, go across the street.

I LOVE this place. I got a hot chocolate for 3.80 and the place is so nice. It’s a bit crowded during the lunch time but other than that hours, it is really comfortable. I could do my school work here and there are lots of electric outlets near the table. The wifi is great but sadly I couldn’t connect it to my laptop so I used it with my phone only. The service is really nice too. They are so friendly. I do not speak French but they speak English so it was really helpful. I love this place and definitely would come again.

Awesome place. Love the setting, the music, the menu, the wifi, the plugs, the staff everything BUT the plastic cups!! If people drink their juices inside the restaurant, why serve it in plastic cups?? A glass will do. This is just ridiculous. I even specifically asked to put my orange juice in a glass but they gave me a plastic cup and lid and straw anyway. Also I would love to see a vegan bagle on the menu, or a vegetarian one without cheese. Perhaps humus or so? Not mozzarella with creamcheese... A part from that it's a nice place.
