Mumtaz is a good place for Indian food, both if you want the classics or if you want something a little different. They don't take credit card and they aren't super fast, but the food is good and the prices reasonable. The vegetarian selection was nice and I recommend the paneer with peas. Choose the Nepalese chicken if you want something completely different from what you are used to.

Prices way too high for the quality of food. Prices comparable to Indian restaurants in Switzerland (most expensive country in the world). Service is a bit slow. Prices do not include rice, so have to add 3€ to get rice (or bread) ... Disappointing experience

Paneer tikka masala was toooooooo sweet and I don't know why it is toooo red. Naan was not even naan. It tasted like kulcha. It is was a bad experience.I could have cooked better then them.

The most horrible food I have ever had. I don’t know why this restaurant is rated so high. The paneer tikka was marked spicy but was sweeter than a dessert. The paneer was like eating an eraser. It felt like they took ready to eat gravy and just served that. Horrible experience. Will not recommend to any one. The restaurant serves stale food.

Terrible food. I chose this restaurant based on google reviews and i was sooooo dissapointed with the low quality and the bad taste of their dishes. This was just not an Indian food. The food was somehow like a left over. Yuck! My guests and I were just extremely dissapointed. Not a good restaurant at all.

I use to love this restaurant, before owners change. Fell sick with their food,my wife said all is changed with sugar so spices will not overpower European customers and can not prove but I am pretty sure they use food coloring rather than spices . Must be cheaper. Sorry Mumtaz ,after many years of happiness you finally brought us diarrhea! No more.

Yikes, I was excited to try this restaurant based on a recommendation only to have left disappointed. The butter chicken felt like it was left over tandoori chicken smothered in what I could best describe as ketchup. The color of the sauce was too red, which leads me to believe that there's a distinct lack of use of tumeric, cream, curd, butter or all of the above. The biggest issue was how sweet it was! Incredibly odd. Service was uneven, sometimes brusk, with a false sense of friendliness. I would not recommend this restaurant and found the cuisine nowhere near authentic.

The staff was friendly, but the place was a bit to crowded for us. Tables are so close that we could hear our fellow countryman, let's call him Jan, was talking to his wife or girlfriend about the price of every dish (how come I always feel embarrassed when that happens)... The food was okay, I had better Indian food to be honest, but it was value for money.

UPDATE: My husband & I ordered via Ubereats. We were a bit surprised, as we ordered 2 appetizers, 2 main dishes, and Naan bread for 61 EUR, and no rice was included. It's the first time that I've ordered from an asian restaurant, be it Indian, Chinese or Indonesian and not received free rice. So, my 2 stars remain as there are certain standards as a customer that I want maintained for 61 EUR, and free rice and the possibility to pay whichever way I want are important for me. PREVIOUS UPDATE: I've been going to Mumtaz since 1996, and I've just learned that they only accept cash. On principle, I find this outrageous. So, the food is good but it is not acceptable to only allow cash payments. In fact, it is illegal.

We trusted the high ratings and the pictures seemed to match. BIG MISTAKE! The restaurant is actually Indian-Pakistani, not Indian and the taste of the food shows that. We ordered Paneer and all of us thought that it was store bought (the whole thing, gravy too) and so did the Naan. Uploaded are photos of the path to the bathroom to wash your hands. Only the eating area is lush, nowhere else. Not recommended.

Lamb curry was good, all other curry we ordered has too sweet.. nan were perfect. Its a clean simple deco restaurant and friendly staff

Die Lokation ist sehr schlicht aber stillvoll eingerichtet. Ich habe eine Vorspeise mit Scampi bestellt und hatte eine ganz andere Vorstellung. Was kam war fast mit einer Art Pizza ähnlich aber das Brot war sehr sehr weich und voller Geschmack. Sowie die Scampis in einer Art Tomaten Sauce und das war geschmacklich ein voll Treffer. Ich war eigentlich nach der Vorspeise schon satt aber dann kam mein Lamm byriani. Es war eine riesen Portion mit einer Extra Sauce separat serviert. Im Hintergrund lief eine angenehme Indische Musik. Es war nicht mein letzter Besuch dort. Vielen Dank

I have been to this restaurant several times years ago. I ordered now two dishes for delivery. Flavours were good but the dishes were too oily and hard to digest.

The food was delicious, the portions were great and the service very attentive. The mango lassi drink could be a starter itself… so good.

Great place to be! I always look forward to coming to this place! Very cozy yet classy! I went there Saturday with my family and three little kids. The youngest was crying and had tantrums, and the weighter kept assuring me that I didn't need to stress about it. He even took the little baby in his arms! The food was delicious and fingerlicking! Generally an okay place. Service was pretty good. The food was also very nice and the portions quite large.

Some dishes were very good, rich in flavour and spices, while some were way too sweet! Almost impossible to eat a vegetable korma which is sweet, never had that before. the garlic naan and the daal were really good. A bit overpriced.

The chicken biryani was very good The tandoori butter chicken was too sweet for me , im not sure uf it supposed to be this sweet, they changed it for me ti be less sweet, nan is excellent , shkh kebab 👌 the service was excellent.💖

The main room seems to be clean but the corridor to the toilets is dirty, the floor sticky with frying oil and the toilets are not very clean. The food is tasty.

Both me and my friend really liked the food. The owner (I assume) was extremely friendly, helpful and really cared for our well being. Tikka Masala a bit sweet but that was quickly fixed by the mentioned owner. A lot of vegetarian options and a variety of dishes of different kinds. Very good naan and rice (you have to pay extra which is unfortunate). The restaurant is clean, including the bathrooms: no sticky floor and no weird smells. I will definitely pass by if I’m in the area again :) Highly recommend! 👏🏼

We had delicious food and a very good service. There were many vegetable menus and it was more than enough food.

The food was fantastic and the owner was a great guy. Everyone was very welcoming and I’d highly recommend going here.
