The pastries were ok, a bit stale to be honest. The cafe itself was very chaotic and all over the place, and the staff appeared to be very fed up with the whole thing. I came here because it is meant to be an iconic bakery, but I would say don’t ruin the Portuguese pastry tasting experience for yourself and look someplace else.

I came here after the famous “Travesseiros” (Pillow) but there is NOTHING SPECIAL about it. A very common pastry with some sugar and that’s is. Coffee is good dho...

Very nice much calmer than Piriquita 1. The pastries are to die for and still want more.

Chocolate and Almond Travesseiros de Sintra. So sweet and unique and super fresh. Great atmosphere on the balcony/outdoor undercover area. Wasn’t too busy on my Visit in May - and staff were super efficient!’

The first outlet was so crowded at 4pm+ I sought out this outlet. Bigger space I think and plenty of seats. Friendly and proactive service, and for that I'd give 5 stars as I've been to a few places in Sintra where staff just ignored a lone customer who looks foreigner. Travesserio is indeed v fluffy and flaky, but not for diabetics as it was coated with fine sugar. Coffee was strong.

We tried queijada and travesseiro and had some coffee. Everything was very nice! They don't do table service, but the staff was super nice and friendly.

Tastey gluten free options, decaf espresso, no dairy free "milks" though. Located right in the middle of the quaint part of town. The cafe had two of the best staff we've come across, very helpful and with great sense of humor. We ate there several times and would come back again.

Nice little pit stop for coffee and the traditional cake of Sintra - Travesseiro. Table service was a little shambolic though; I was sat at a table for quite a while without being acknowledged. The waiter saw me sitting there but tried to avoid making eye contact. After a few minutes I got up and went to the counter to ask for a menu, after that service was pretty quick. I also wanted some tap water, but the waiter flew away so quickly I didn’t get a chance to ask! So again I had to go up to the counter to ask for the water. Coffee was good, and the cake was lovely. First impressions weren’t good due to poor customer service, but I enjoyed my cake.

Came here after finding a long line at the original Piriquita and it was much less crowded. We had planned to just order pastries at the counter but were overwhelmed by the choices and decided to sit down to look over the menu. While many looked good, I decided to try the two specialities— the Travesserio (so light, flaky, and delicious; highly recommend) and the queijada (not overly flavorful; would skip this next time). All the pastries and coffee drinks were very reasonably priced. The service, however, left something to be desired.

Good cappuccino, fresh orange juice and nice cinnamon powdered and small almond pastry. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. Nice terrasse spot. Very good prices for the quality you get. Better to sit here than at the other more crowded Piriquita bakery down the street. The sandwiches looked appealing! A good spot to relax between your visits in Sintra!

Had the best , pastries called *, Almond Pillow : very well known as a speciality of the region .

Another place our guide recommended. had super sweet queijada(something like chocolate croissant) and mild travesseiro. Matches so well with "cafe americano"(in Portugal "americano" is served in a cup just double the size of espresso, so imagine how bitter it could be). Total EUR 4.00!

Pastries worth a visit! The famous pastries of Sintra are made here so this place and its twin nearby are worth a visit. It's located in a beautiful spot in the old town so even the walk there is something to look forward too. Once inside it's not quite the same, I don't know if it's because we came by the end of the day but the place seem quit cold, not very welcoming and the service not very friendly. We ate our pastries that were good, but besides that we just left the place with no regrets. Maybe in other circumstances with would have been a better experience.

Much less crowded than the original just around the corner, but still lots of seating and a lovely covered terrace above the street to people watch and cool off on. Cakes were very good, although I have nothing to compare to so no idea if these were the best Travesseiro - I tried the original almond which was lovely, and the chocolate with had Nutella inside. Both delicious and a lot lighter than expected.

(Translated by Google) Although things taste good, they are getting more and more expensive and their size getting smaller, especially with respect to the famous pillows, although they are delicious. Always a lot of people, either in line to take home, or to sit at the table. Service a little clumsy and running despite sometimes taking a long time for a pastry shop. But without a doubt with the best pillows and the same unmatched in flavor wherever you go.

The second location of Casa Piriquita, which is literally 1 minute up the hill from the first store, and contains an outdoor patio. I went to this store since the other was packed and was very lucky to find it relatively empty. By the time I left at 11:30 am, there was a long queue at the cashier to order though, so I may have just been lucky. The staff were super helpful with helping me to make my selection of brunch treats. The travesseiro da Piriquita was so freshly made that it was still warm and otherwise tastes exactly as amazing as the ones from the other store. (I may or may not have gone back and ordered some more)

non-existent service, bartenders who with a mad queue start chatting among themselves and in a very annoyed manner, tables full of dirty plates and cups, which does not allow you to sit down, but above all ... pigeon on the tables. Not hygienic. the food is quite okay and the coffee is terrible.

  • 5/5 Vica V. K. 9 months ago on Google
Quick service, friendly staff, delicious pastries, lots of seating area. When there was a line out the door at the other Piriquita we were glad this other location existed. Nutella Travesseiro ended up being our favorite, tho not the classic but a delicious update. Yum!

Pastries - amazing. Bill - questionable. I don’t know how to count 2 pieces as 3 several times. 1 time - mistake, next - I have no clue. I strongly recommend be careful with bills and sales man.

Quite an average pastries and a cappuccino form machine that tasted horrible. Plus waiting in the queue. Nice terrace. Not sure it's worth the high rating this place has.

Love the traditional apple almond travesseiro. Is like apple crust lay with sugar. Not so much with the queijada but can try since it's sintra speciality. No table service here. Accept card.

Nice for a quick snack with a Caffe. You order at the counter, there's plenty of seating in the patio on the right.

Check out this location if you don’t want to wait in long queues for their local Sintra pastry. It isn’t as sweet as the pastel de nata and it has a much stronger cinnamon flavour to it. It’s quite nice actually.

  • 5/5 Wendy L. 11 months ago on Google
Excellent pastries, and authentic. This is a little more inside the streets so you get less tourists. No lines! There’s a cute outdoor area which you can sit. It’s a nice break from walking around. Oh and the bathroom is clean too! I got a latte, an almond pastry and of course the famous pastel de nata.

We got some as a souvenir from a friend that returned from a day trip to Sintra. I had a few bites of the 3 various baked goods purchased a few hours earlier. They were either dry or rather tasteless. And kinda expensive (12.50 euros). I'm not sure what the fuss is. Maybe it's better AT the bakery?

  • 5/5 F K. 1 year ago on Google
Stopped here for a pastry and we were not disappointed. Their pastries were fresh and perfectly cooked. The pasties were soft and creamy and perfectly seasoned with cinnamon and sugar. We recommend a stop! We tried the apple filo pastries (Travesseiro da Casa Piriquita) and the Queijadas. Both delicious and very cheap.

The best pastries. They have some unique pastries which are only made here. Definitely try them out. Beware: It's too much for a snack so if you're only in Sintra for one day, make this your lunch.

Badly designed operation. You are supposed to collect a ticket at the entrance, and the cashier doesn't follow the ticket number anyway. It's famed, but I am not impressed with Portuguese desserts in general. Might as well save the time and money for French desserts.

  • 3/5 Michael L. 4 years ago on Google
