8/10 Had an amazing lunch at Tivoli Hotel's restaurant, the al fresco looked out on a awe inspiring alpine scene. The fish soup was top-notch, we had steak and shrimps for mains, which were pretty good too (Follow me on ig if you are a foodie too!: Brianprb) .

Wow is the 1st word that comes to mind when describing this luxurious place. The view, the service, the food, the catering, the ambient music, the stairs, the corridors, the dining rooms. Trully a piece of art.

Tivoli was on the most beautiful estate, set back from all noise. The property was well manicured with a pool and spa on site. The welcome ceremony was on point, we were greeted by multiple staff members. Whisked into a sitting room an offered lemonade made from lemons grown on the property. We were then brought to our rooms, up several flights of stairs- across from where house keeping keeps their equipment. On a property so large did we need to see the vacuum and canvas wrapped storage outside of our room. The interior of the room was in need of paint touch ups and carpet cleaning. Lunch was on a terrace overlooking the pool and lemon trees-stunning. My Cesar salad was drowning in dressing. Reception mentioned they could make reservations at an attraction, when we returned we were told we could book on line, but if we needed them to, they could book. Breakfast beautifully displayed offered a full range of items: fresh fruit, breads, raw honey, cheeses & meats. Breakfast staff was on point. Housekeeping turned down the room, professional and kind. Upon our departure no-one was interested to see how we enjoyed our stay.

If you're visiting Sintra, be sure to visit it. Perhaps because I stayed in the off-season, the hotel was rented out like a palace. There are a lot of ingredients in the big hall. Breakfast for just the two of you. It's a very good memory. There are many people who stay in Lisbon, but it is not bad to relax from Sintra.

We absolutely loved having our dream wedding at Palácio de Seteais. The staff at the hotel, especially Raquel and Ana are absolutely amazing and helped make our stay so special. We ended up having a tented wedding which wasn’t typical and they ensured it all went smoothly. Service was unparalleled. The grounds are beyond stunning, the food and drinks were some of the best we’ve ever had. We truly felt at home during our wedding weekend. Our guests can not stop raving and continue to say it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. Thank you so much for everything you did for us! Can’t wait to come back and visit…it will forever be a special place for us <3

Stayed at this hotel many years ago with my husband for a romantic getaway. It was stunning with beautiful wall murals and the bedroom was exquisite and very befitting of a Palace. It is only accessible by car as it is not walking distance to the centre of Sintra. Would highly recommend if you want to experience a romantic stay in the closest hotel to a palace.

My wife and I got married at this beautiful hotel this month. The stunning grounds and history of the building surpassed our expectations. This coupled with the attentive and considerate service of the staff made our stay all the more special. We would in particular like to mention the events team Raquel and Margarida who ensured that the day would run smoothly and were able to troubleshoot effectively when some aspects of the wedding did not go as planned. Thank you. We will most definitely return in the future.

Absolutely beautiful Location. Hospitality was excellent. From the moment I arrived to the moment I had to leave there was someone to guide and aid you through your experience at the hotel. I'm blown away.

As a wedding photographer, I have had the pleasure of working at Tivoli Palácio de Seteais Sintra Hotel on several occasions and have always been blown away by the versatility of the venue for photography. From the stunning gardens with views of the surrounding mountains to the grand ballroom with its high ceilings and natural light, I have always been able to find the perfect spot to capture beautiful images. But what stands out most to me about Tivoli Palácio de Seteais Sintra Hotel is the staff. From the moment I arrive, I am always made to feel welcomed and have all the necessary resources to do my job efficiently. The event coordinators are incredibly friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. In short, Tivoli Palácio de Seteais Sintra Hotel is a wonderful place for photography and an unforgettable wedding venue. I would highly recommend it to any couple looking for a special place to celebrate their big day.

Just wow… I spent two nights in the wonderful palace and had my small wedding in their garden. The team is just absolutely lovely. They are so kind and helpful, each and everyone of them. The location is astoundingly beautiful. I want to give special thanks to Joana, Diana and Marianne. You were too kind. The food, gardens and pool are lovely too. Definitely coming back here. Kind regards, Romy

The pros: lovely garden and truly wonderful staff. Views are great and it is in a beautiful area. Good breakfast and nice food. Comfortable bed. Cons: for a luxury hotel, the facilities in the rooms are uncomfortable. Our room was damp. When we arrived, the bedding was actually damp to the touch and we asked that the linens be changed. When we came back the linens were not changed. The antique furniture was beautiful to look at but very uncomfortable and the bathroom was very small compared to other hotels at this price point. There was also an event while we were staying. We had a delicious but unpleasant lunch. We came to eat and there was no space. We were offered a seat on the terrace which has a great view. Unfortunately, the event people were moving large furniture and setting up things directly around us like we weren't there. It was very disrespectful and the staff (while apologetic) did not really do anything about it. The overall experience was hectic and not the luxury retreat that I wanted and so I will not be back and do not recommend it.

I didn't stay overnight at the hotel, but I went to the Spa. I have been to spas all over the world, and I can't recommend this one enough. It was amazing. I got the jetlag relief service with Magdalena, which was a scrub, massage, and mini facial. She made me feel so special and relaxed, and I floated out of the Spa. The Spa doesn't have amenities like a steam room, etc., but it feels so nice and private. The treatment rooms are luxurious and modern, and I got to sit out on the terrace and enjoy the view with a cup of tea that was prepared for me before my service. After my service, I was able to walk through and enjoy the gardens. I did not want to leave. I can't recommend this Spa and Magdalena enough.

One can visit their grounds and gardens for free! We were extended a very warm welcome by the staff at the entrance to the palace and were escorted to the cafe / restaurant. The interiors transform you to a magical pastel and candy shade ambiance. Very romantic and perfect for our 31st Anniversary high tea! Their hot chocolate was delicious and their espresso perfect! Accompanied by complimentary delicate chocolate and pastries ! We walked around their elegant interiors and common areas and the exterior lemon orchards surrounding the sparkling blue pools overlooking the Atlantic Ocean!

Wonderful hotel. Great staff. Lovely atmosphere. Only hiccup: the a la carte dinner menu items are tiny and the prices don‘t make sense compared to the prefix menu. Nevertheless a fantastic stay and would absolutely recommend to friends.

It was very nice to find that this hotel was a real palace and we were treated as royalties during our stay. We will definitely return to this hotel in the future.

One of the top ten hotels I’ve stayed at in my life. Beautiful, great service, amenities, great food. The restaurant is beautiful with fresh flowers everywhere. I loved the nespresso machine in the room so much I bought one when I got home. When you arrive in your room there are delicious small treats. The building is historic and the pool has a beautiful view. There are sights nearby and you can walk to town.

We loved our stay at Tivoli Palacio. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was majestic. The breakfast was amazing. We highly recommend planning on a big breakfast at the hotel and a light lunch or snack elsewhere. The general spread was delicious and they constantly ask and offer to make more custom to your order. They offered us complimentary portions wine in our room. My only complaint is that our room was facing the central square and it’s a popular destination for tourists so it could get quite loud outside our window and the tour groups seemed oblivious to that fact that guests stay there. But that was mostly during the afternoon and evening. It’s also a little tricky driving. If you miss the last turn, you can end up with another 25 minute drive to loop back around. We had a beautiful view of Pena Palace and Mouros.

I can not say enough positive things about this place and the staff. Just wow. I travel on AMEX points. Within two days of my 7 day stay, the entire staff knew my name, what I liked and ensured I was always taken care of. Room 3 is amazing. This is a true Palace. Congrats to everyone who runs and works at this fabulous establishment.

We stayed here for a wedding, and everything was flawless. The staff were all exceptionally professional, knowledgeable about local restaurants, historic sites, and things to do. The views were absolutely incredible, and the property was well maintained. In particular, the front desk staff and the bartender went above and beyond for all of us. They made this a true 5-star hotel experience. My expectations were exceeded with every staff interaction. I highly recommend booking travel to this property!

The rooms are a little dated but that is what you get for staying in a historical hotel. We enjoyed exploring the hotel grounds, which were filled with treasures such as a piano from the 18th century. The staff were very kind and polite, and they have a great restaurant too.

You might think you will miss some facilities such as a gym and sauna, but I'm sure this Palace will make it up to you. With a lovely garden, delightful bedrooms, good food, and beautiful spaces for you to unwind, read, talk and work. The spa is a must-do, with an outstanding staff (Thanks Ana Beatriz) and good products. To be fair, the entire staff is helpful and friendly. I don't believe I have anything negative to say about my stay here; you must remember you're staying at a world heritage site. The weather in Sintra will not be helpful most of the year, but the rain will not make the experience less enjoyable, and romance is always in the air around this town. P.S. do not forget to try the Portuguese pastry 'travesseiro de Sintra'.

We absolutely love Tivoli! We shot an elopement wedding there + it was fabulous! The service they showed us + our couple was fantastic. The rooms were stunning + extremely photogenic, the gardens + maze are just perfect for photos, as well as the private reception room. It’s just a great place for an elopement + intimate wedding. It’s impossible to be disappointed!

Fantastic boutique-like hotel in an historic setting nested in Sintra. A time travel experience!

Great location, amazingly comfortable beds, good breakfast, nice pool , good front desk staff. Would have gotten 5 stars if service personnel at restaurants was friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay here. 30 room hotel with great grounds and attentive staff. It felt like you were almost staying in a Museum.with period walls, flooring, furniture and decorations throughout the common areas. Location is great but heads up on the one way road system (not this hotel specific). A 10 min walk to town is a 2 min drive one way and a 20 min drive the other way. Same thing if you miss a turn it can a easy 15 min mistake

I live very close to the hotel. Last month, I asked the guy in the front to see the restaurant and the menu because I wanted to have lunch there in the following days. The guy told me they couldn’t do that, like I was asking something out of this world. You know, people with sport shoes who dress casually also have money to spend in 5 star hotels. Not my case, I would never feel motivated to spend money on a hotel that doesn’t welcome people. My five star review is just a motivation for the hotel manager to improve the staff manners. You have a good challenge there. Good luck!

Thank you much for allowing us to have our wedding at the Palace. It is a stunning venue, rich in history and charm. The staff provided exceptional service, and the food was incredible. From the moment we stepped through the doors, it was a magical experience. Thank you!

A unique palace in Sintra A must visit hotel within the romantic Sintra villa. Great service, with very experienced and careful personnel that have I attention to details, exceptional food - breakfast and lunch/dinner, good amenities and one of the most comfortable beds I have had the opportunity to sleep in. Although it is an old palace it is generically well preserved. Some renovations would be a plus near the pool area but clearly compensated by an exceptional view and a beautiful surroundings with views for excuberant Forrest and Palácio da Pena. The hotel is also at walking distance from several main attractions in Sintra, namely Quinta da Regaleira. We will certainly come back! Congratulations for the great job!

It’s a beautiful place, service was very good, the only thing needs attention right away is the wood floor in the room should be leveled for safety concern.

Staying here is like going back in time. The building is spectacular. The highlight, however, is the service - Levi, especially, went above and beyond to help my mom find our way around sintra and shared some amazing history about the area with us. We can’t wait to come back!

  • 1/5 Monce M. 2 years ago on Google
Overall, beautiful place but it’s ruined by the extremely uneducated and mentally challenged staff. It should be clear to them that if I’m asking for a drink at the bar (a tea) and a tour of the hotel to come and visit in the future, and they neglect my service telling me that they don’t allow it for the privacy of their guests, they are losing customers because of bad reception staff. Will not be staying here again because I don’t feel welcome and if they can only put a smile on when I am staying there then no chance. AVOID.

We had an amazing stay at your hotel! Thank you so much for your excellent service. We expected a lovely stay, but the beauty of the grounds, the excellent service, and the food made our stay even better than we had hoped for! We can't wait to come back. All of the staff we interacted with were incredibly polite and accommodating, but we wanted to thank the following individuals in particular: Jorge, Jose - outstanding service at the bar and restaurant. Marcelo - helped us get our COVID tests scheduled. Despite our plans (and some miscommunication on my part) making this difficult, he worked with the testing company and made sure we were taken care of. Paulo, Levi, and Marta - great service at the front desk every time we came and went from the hotel.

The palace is a wonderful place to stay - the staff is kind - professional and very willing to help. The rooms are very elegant and are well equipped. The Palace sits just above the central area of the historic district of Sintra and the path to the Moorish Castle and Castle Pena is right in front of the Palace. Walking distance to many areas. The roads are somewhat difficult to manage at times, but again the area is primarily walkable.
