UPDATE: In response to the owners note bellow. My wife who had booked the inn, had replied to every single message through Booking app, specifying our time of arrival. Also, as I mentioned below, we called the Whatsapp number multiple times, sent a message there, as well as sent another message through Booking app - had no reply to either. Removing one star for your lies and rudeness. We had a very bad experience checking in. When we arrived at the inn, the door was locked. We rang the doorbell for about 10 minutes. We also tried calling them using the Whatsapp number posted on the door, but nobody picked up. Finally, another hotel guest came out and let us in, and she was able to reach the staff by phone. After a couple of minutes, a man finally came in and checked us in. Rooms are okay, but not very good if you plan to stay longer than one night. The breakfast is included, and it's good. There are fruits, cereal, bread, and pastries. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the Sintra train station and the downtown.

Perfect and quite place! 10 mins from the center and train station(that can bring you to the Lisbon center for example). 10 mins till restaurants zone! 33 mins by secret hike to get to the Palacio del Pena by walk. Also the exciting thing that this house 1859 construction date!in the dining room you can see very old paintings on the walls👌also 3 minutes walk to the house where Hans C Andersen lived in 1866🙀

A beautiful and charming place to stay in Sintra. The whole building is elegant, spacious and meet most of what you need. The room we stayed has 2 doors overlook to the street so plenty of natural light. All the furniture are beautiful and well designed, give you a feel of vintage and modern at the same time. They have central heating as well. There are a living room, dining room and a swimming pool for guests to use. All beautifully designed to every detail. Breakfast was included with simple things but more than you need. And Nuno, the guy who welcomed us, is super nice and helpful, gave us many tips about where to eat, what to do, etc. The value for the price (we paid €45/night) is worth every penny, I would say. Highly recommended.

Lovely place to stay in Sintra. As the name suggests it's full of old world charm in keeping with the local area. The staff are very personable and welcoming. I look forward to staying here again very soon. Thank you.

Located near the historic old town, this charming inn is perfect for those wishing to explore the area. The check in process was easy and very informative. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts every morning were delicious and the outdoor pool and patio was a refreshing sanctuary.

Really close to the center of Sintra, the rooms are not super fancy but the pool and the surrounding greenery make up for it for sure.

Superb! The room was really nice and cosy, the staff was super friendly. The breakfast was a simple buffet but it had everything you might need. It's really close to the old town. And there's free parking in front or 15 meters away down the road. We left our car there and didn't move it until we left Sintra. We used an Uber to go up to Pena palace which takes about 5 minutes and costs near nothing.

Really great stay at the Charme Inn. We stayed here one night with two People to visit Sintra. It's very well located to get the bus, a Tuktuk or a cap to all the sites close by. The hotel itself has a very Familiar atmosphere. The rooms are small but clean and very quiet. The garden with pool is a nice addition to rest in the evening. It's 20mins walking to the city center of Sintra with many restaurant options. We recommend to arrive early to secure a parking spot in front of the hotel. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast was very complete with a mixture of local and international food options, bread, fruits, cornflakes, etc We would definitely choose this place again. 5/5

The hotel is nicely located and doesn't lack charm, but service is abysmal. As other people here mentioned there's never anybody at the reception and they don't answer mails or booking messages. I don't think its intentional, but they are clearly extremely disorganized on that level which creates problems. I contacted the booking.com customer service for lack of any other option.
