El Fredo Pizza is an absolute must! For the locals, they know this place and that you’ll struggle to ever find a better pizza elsewhere. It takes either the #1 or #2 spot in any vote for the best pizza in the region. Locals who move away, prioritize this as a place to stop any time they return. As you can see, the toppings are generous. Featured below is a pepperoni, green olive and pineapple, which I would highly recommend. The sizes are larger than many commercial places. Their jumbo will be 16 slices and they won’t be small pieces. The sauce is what makes it too all else. Slightly sweet with a zing to it. Cant explain it. You just need to try it.

Drove up from Kansas City Mo to take a friend to try them only to find they are CLOSED on Mondays, so we drove all the way up as the hours showed Open!! Obviously I love the pizza or wouldn't be driving up that far. But man, what a Huge disappointment to find them Closed after driving 4 hours... PLEASE UPDATE YOUR HOURS ACROSS YOUR WEBSITE

Very disappointed. We have been eating pizza from here for over 40 years. Ever sense the new ownership took over. Toppings have been skimpy, the crust is not the same, quality has fallen so much. The last year or two we normally only will get it from the east side location where they still do it correctly. We really wish the east side location was open Sundays. Very sad to see this. Unfortunately we will not be coming back unless we hear they have returned to making pizza like they did prior to the new ownership. Randall L. Sioux City, IA

Normally, I would give El Fredo Pizza five stars, but it seems like since John left and his brother Mark took over, things have changed. I've been going there since the early 1980's, and their pizza has gotten so much thinner over the last couple years. They claim they haven't changed the recipe, but absolutely use less dough. I understand costs go up, but increase the price instead of using less dough. The sauce is still amazing, I just wish the crust was as thick as it used to be.

Update 10-25-18: ordered a 4 topping pizza. The service was good but it was slow. I sat waiting for my pizza for 1hr and when I asked if it was done he magically had it 20 seconds later. The edges were burned but the body of the pizza was still good. I dropped my rating a star just because of the crazy wait time and having to ask for my food to get it. Old school good tasting pizza place.

Over $20 for a medium single topping pizza and you get more grease then pizza. Probably one of the worst pizza places we have ever been to.

We had not been to El Fredo's for some time. We were pleased to hear they have a gluten free crust. It is by far the best crust we have had in several years. That along with the tasty toppings and excellent service make this a place to come back to.

Excellent food choices and reasonably priced! The salad bar was great! We also had spaghetti and it was a great sized portion. Several people around us were eating pizza and were all complimentary.

RIP El Fredos of my childhood. “Original sauce” is not nearly as spicy as before. Crust is thicker and softer. Pepperoni lacked former amount of cup and char. Still a solid pizza but just not the same. When they say “You can’t go back.”, sometimes they’re right.

I grew up on this pizza, and find that it Never disappoints!! An absolutely delicious pizza, with a perfectly made crust, with slightly heavy on the original house made sauce. It’s definitely a win, win in my opinion!😋👍🏽

Interesting place to eat. You place your order, wait for your number to be called, then go back up front to pick up your order. Your drinks and utensils are self serve also. We had a large pizza which was good. Plenty of left overs for the 3 of us.

I can not say enough about El Fredo's pizza! The sauce was the best I have had since I grew up near Chicago. We ordered a pepperoni pizza.. and a pepperoni, sausage, bacon, and Canadian bacon pizza. It was ALL wonderful! Everyone was friendly, the owner takes pride in his pizza and it shows. Their pizza will not disappoint!

Great old school pizza joint reminiscent of days gone by. Pizza is just great, salad bar is awesome and beer on tap. Serve yourself and enjoy a nice time with the family.

Cute mom & pop Italian restaurant. The kitchen staff seems very young, which is fine…. But we had a semi large group, everyone ordered separate and 2 orders were forgotten. I ordered the lasagna, and wasn’t really impressed. It wasn’t horrible, but wasn’t my favorite. Noodles were over cooked in my opinion. Most people in my party liked their pizza orders, but not fans of other items.

Their pizza is amazing. Their beer selection isn't as large as it once was.

A good salad bar loved it, I couldn't find someone working to ask a question when I was looking for a worker in the front. The food I expected to be better, but the pizza was bigger than expected. My friend was also gluten free, thought they would have more accommodations, but she just had the salad bar. The building is also in a difficult place to pull out and get into in a way how the building is positioned. Over all the people were friendly when we came in and gave us plenty of time to order and pick what you want. The ordering is different you pick what you want when you first get there they show you a menu then go sit down, no waiting on the tables, then they bring the food to you after a while. The pop machine is also hard to find if you have never been there before. It was hard to believe the person in the front was gone being that the restaurant was practically empty, and we went not that long after they opened for the day. they also charged extra for some toppings on the pizza we did not initially know about, but we just figured that in as a tip.

The food is ok. But the wait times even calling far ahead are awful. They need more help or more efficiently.

I really miss the old owner John. Ever since the new owner's took over, this place has gone down hill. Puzza is always a hit or miss. They charge you for extra toppings and you get is a skimpy pizza. Giving it another try. I tried calling and calling to place an order, no answer. Website and recording says open. Apparently they are closed on Monday's. Should probably update information.

I had called and ordered 2 pizzas for carry out and they told me it would be ready in 50-55 minutes. I waited almost an hour and went to pick up. When I got there they said they only had an order for one pizza. They said I could wait 20 minutes for the other one but I said no. So I left with just one. Pizza was not worth the wait at all. Definitely not going there ever again.

THE best pizza in Sioux City. Always try to get a pie in when we come through town. It warms the heart to tempt fate to potential ankle-breakage on the tiered main dining area while contemplating whether the carpet has been changed since 1981.
