Frank, the older person working the front desk is beyond unprofessional! He did not greet me when I came in or even rise from his chair. I booked a king room through Choice Hotels and was given a different room. When I asked for the room I booked he became incredibly rude. He was argumentative about everything, and rude to the guests after me as well. I cannot believe someone like this has kept their job in the hospitality industry. Absolutely disgusting behavior! I will never be back!

The bed had dirty socks when the covers were lifted up, there were red solo cups all over the room, there was 4 tables and 5 chairs in the small room, and the towels had brown stains all over them. Awful stay! This was for an out of town employee and we will never use this hotel again for our employees to stay in!

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. Our first night there, we went to check in and was greeted by a woman that seemed very sick. It's the middle of a pandemic and she wiped her nose and took my cards and handed them back to me. She wasn't wearing a mask. Then, after we went to our room for bed, she got bit on the arm by a bed bug. We couldn't find the bed bug at first and thought she just had an allergic reaction to something. She took Benadryl and eventually the swelling went down. We went to sleep and she got bit again on the neck. This time we saw the bed bug and she squished it on her pillow, leaving a small blood stain and a piece of the bed bug on the pillow. He neck swelled up and turned red. I went to the front desk to complain and got an attitude in return. I asked for a refund, so we could go to another hotel just in case there was a bed bug infestation, but he said we'd have to wait until morning for a manager and we'd need a picture of the bug for proof. My wife squished it of course. All we had was the welts on her neck, the blood stain and the bits of bug on the pillow. He said that wasn't enough. He went to our room to inspect himself as if he didn't believe us. Luckily we didn't see anymore, but he made us dump all of our stuff out of our bags and put it into a garbage bag and take it out of the hotel. It seemed like we were being treated as if we brought them in. He then moved us to another room. Luckily, no more issues with bed bugs for the remainder of our stay. Not impressed with how we were treated and will not be back. Do not recommend to anyone.

The room was nice, but the housekeeping needs to be a little better as there were a wrapper and few dust bunnies. The shower was really good. The breakfast was good and they tried to keep the area clean throughout the time it was served. The staff was nice and helpful. Really the only complaint would be dealing with the TV. Their remote didn't have arrows to be able to scroll the guide channel was it was found because you did not know what channel you had your TV on as there was no ribbon to tell you the channel or show.

Only positive- no bed bugs that we are aware of. Negatives- Both rooms that we got were filthy. From cracker crumbs left on chair, dirt around edges of room, and then the furniture was ABSOLUTELY filthy with stains in both rooms! We asked the front desk staff about getting new furniture(accent chair and ottoman) without stains. She said they had no furniture without stains. Horrible experience. Definitely would not go back!

Completely dirty, furniture in room was stained and sink broken. No offer to refund. I pulled the dirty furniture into the hallway and asked for new furniture. They said and I quote, β€œall rooms have dirty furniture.” I got the room through hotels.com and never saw these other bad reviews. Stay away from the sleezebags.

This hotel really needs some updating! The rooms really not that clean. Furniture was old and very stained. The sheets were also stained. One room, you could see outside by the air conditioner. No elevators. No real security, the back entrance security was broken so anyone could just walk in without noticing.

The public spaces are cluttered, broken, unclean, and inhospitable. Why handwrite a sign to stay out of the breakfast area when it has a lock...that's not gracious or welcoming. The sink in the coffee area is filthy, and the tiles are broken and missing pieces in the entry way. The furniture in the room is stained and should just be burned, the bathtub is gross, and the particles on the floor are over the top ridiculous.

My entire stay was not quite right. Firstly, NO ELEVATOR! Secondly, Everything was very outdated. Thirdly, they staff were as creepy as the hotel itself. The safety lock to my room was broken. In the morning housekeeping tapped on the door and I yelled out that I didn't want housekeeping (there was NO dnd thingy provided). She continues to come in and prop the door open with a table.. from my bed I am screaming for her to leave. I can't get up because I was wearing nothing. She goes into the bathroom and does what she does while I am still screaming for her to leave. She come out of the bathroom and apologize that she didn't hear me. I tell he it's fine and to please leave. She moves the table and leaves. I jump out of bed and as I am stumbling to find something to put on (STILL NAKED) SHE BURST THROUGH THE DOOR AND FINISHED WHAT SHE WAS ORIGINALLY DOING IN THE BATHROOM. SO BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP THE NEXT NIGHT I Barracaded the door see pictures. It was all so bad I made a short video with the song hotel California..

I had made a reservation for an overnight stay at a particular establishment, with a seminar to attend the following day. When I woke up in the morning and attempted to use the shower, I adjusted the faucet from 4:30 AM to 5:00 AM, expecting warm water. To my surprise, there was no hot water. I decided to visit the reception to inquire about the issue. The receptionist explained, "Well, you should understand that it was 40 degrees outside last night, and we have around 40 rooms in the building. It's challenging to provide access to warm water for everyone. You'll need to wait for about an hour and a half." I was quite taken aback by this explanation. Later that day, I reached out to the general manager, Mike Desai, to report the shower issue. Instead of offering any compensation, he seemed to try and shift blame onto the staff member who didn't assist me promptly. Furthermore, Mike mentioned that he couldn't provide compensation because I had booked online. However, when I provided proof that I had booked in person, he claimed he needed to consult with his superior and, unfortunately, never followed up. In reality, he is the ultimate authority and seemed to be attempting to evade responsibility. I strongly discourage anyone from considering this place for their accommodation. It falls far below acceptable standards in every aspect.

Location was good, rooms are a bit run down. They are doing some remodeling so that looks to be getting better. The staff was nice and helpful, and the location was very convenient. I did try the breakfast one morning and I will say that left much to be desired. Overall a good place for the price.

Read the other comments! Its bad to be frank. My coworker had to be placed in four different rooms before being correctly accommodated with a room that was "ready" so after having to tell him which rooms where available by seeing which doors where left opened by cleaning staff and left untouched after.we had went to dinner shortly after. He proceeds to call us saying my coworker needs to move rooms once again due to misinformation on his end due to not knowing the room was a king instead of twins. It is especially concerning after leaving this review to see so many comments saying (Hotel scamming)charging pet fees or damage fees without proof due to rooms already being poorly taken care of by employer (Filthy rooms) the first fitted sheet stain matched the bed stain which was bad after a comment saying they don't switch out the fitted sheets. (Broken everything) locks are broke on several room doors. Side entrance door is also broken leaving an open side entrance to whoever. Big ick overall you are paying the minimum for even less quality than what the price\rating portrays.

We were staying here for a single night before starting RAGBRAI. The room was pretty antiquated and not clean. I had called ahead when I made the booking (3 months in advance) to ask if there was space to park a trailer we were towing. At the time, I had been told yes. When we arrived they said we could not park in the lot and had to park at our own risk down the street at the bank. However, later in the day 4 other trailers had parked in the hotel lot; we were the only ones told to park offsite. Additionally, there was a car alarm going off in the evening for over an hour. When we asked the front desk to figure out who owned the car and to ask them to stop the alarm, the person behind the desk raised his voice and asked what we wants him to do about it? Claimed he couldn’t leave the desk and that it wasn’t his problem. Overall very unprofessional, unclean, but the location is worth the cheap price.

Thus hotel is in a good location for access to restaurants and stores. It is easy to miss the small driveway up to the parking lot. No trailers allowed though there was a boy scout trailer there. The building is under a lit of remodeling. They are working on siding and external things for appearance. However, security would be my priority. The west external "security" door was thoroughly damaged. It closes but not securely. The entrance key pad was smashed. A garbage can by that door was overflowing and not emptied for who knows how long. The plumbing in the bath tub was corroded and broken. But the bed was clean and comfortable as was the floor. The 24/7 coffee pot / hot water was cold. Breakfast was standard for choice hotels. I hope they can get all the work done soon. It looks like a large task!

I rented a king size bed and got 2 queens. Then got charged $150 room deposit, so in total spent $220 for this room. Yes , I get it back in 7-10 days, if there's no damage to Room. Room smelled like smoke even though it was smoke free. There were cigarette burns in bedding. Discoloration to bath tub and rust on the plug. The heater made noises all night long when u switched it to heat. Honestly it sounds like it was dying. Location to stores and interstate was great. It's driveway is tucked in from interstate, if you are coming from interstate. We didn't stay for breakfast, but it looked all right. Wasn't sure on check out besides a cardboard box with other room cards in it. I would most likely not stay there again, due to damage deposit and condition of room.

I only booked a 2 night stay and they charged me for a 3rd night after I had checked out. I called the front desk to resolve the issue and all he did was scream at me. I decided to go back to the hotel because the front desk worker kept hanging up & he shoved check out cards in my face and proceeded to yell at me. He then followed me to my car and demanded I rolled my window down. Absolutely the worst hotel in Sioux City. Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life definitely. I do not recommend staying at this hotel.

The room was dirty with stains on the furniture and linens. Smoke detector was broken. Parking area had no lights. Side entry door was broken allowing anyone to enter. Our room was suppose to be non-smoking but the room reaked of smoke. This hotel was totally misrepresented online. I wouldn't advise anyone to stay there.

The front desk lady was short and to the point. She did however inform me that there is absolutely no taking of breakfast items to the room. I asked if she had troubles with the rooms being dirty because of this, and she said "Yep." Upon entering the room the door almost hit a table that was in the middle of the entry. The door lock to the side entry was damaged and did not lock, allowing anyone to enter the hotel after hours. We had a service animal which we realized 2 days after leaving the hotel we charged the pet fee anyway. We tried to call the hotel several times to dispute the pet fee, but it only rings twice then just quits. After reading the several reviews about this hotel, it appears they are using a "form" response to all complaints, comments, and reviews. They're not even taking the time to write a formal reply, or putting a real person's signature to it, but only signing "General Manager."

If you are looking for a quick place to stay, this is a good place. For the most part it was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The service was kind and energetic (in the morning). The only downside was the hotel had a faint scent of weed and the rooms were not the cleanest. There was visible stains on the chair, some questionable splatters on the remote holder, and the bathroom had a crack in the sink and a few stay hairs. Except the beds, they were decently clean. All in all it was a success for a tired traveler.

My family had our rooms reserved for over a month at a certain rate. The day before we were to arrive I was informed that their policy only allowed that rate to be used on One room, for One night, One time a month. We were informed that the rate for the other 3 room-nights were going to be double the price. We canceled before we could be taken advantage of.

Get this! you just booked online without any notice of further fees, you're expecting to check im for what you paid for to enjoy your stay. YOU JUST SHOW UP & Read this in Indian telephone scame voice, "there will be a +$150 deposit fee" so not only does he want the fee, he puts you in a room that has fault equipment and plumbing problems, so we exposed it and reported the problems to the front desk to prevent getting that $150 "fee"(scam) permanently taken from us, even then we had a hard time getting the money back and had to dispute it with the bank. Don't stay here go to the candlewood suits insted they are way better cheaper and a $20 fee you get back πŸ˜‰ don't mess around with this scammer

We stayed for a extended period of time and the owner/operator extended his time to see that our stay was comfortable and worry free. He stepped up and provided help when I had a emergency on the road. It was a great act of kindness and I appreciated it very much.

Friendly staff, good breakfast. A bit disconcerting the amount needed to place on hold in case of damage. Just because my son is mid 30ish. Need to review that policy. And of course the wasps nest outside.

Bar none the biggest piece of trash hotel I've ever laid my head down at. Literally everything was filthy. From the sheets (which I doubt had been changed from the previous occupants) to the in-room furniture (tattered, chipped and stained), to the main hallway floors (which looked like they had been begging for a mop since 2004 - I dont even wanna think about what I couldn'tsee on the carpets) to the breakfast dining room where our table mate was a cochroach (not even kidding). The rate may look good but I guarantee your stay will not be. Quality Inn seriously needs to yank their licensing deal from this establishment as its likely their last lifeline. This place seriously needs to be shuttered. Do yourself a favor and keep driving and just sleep in your car at the next rest stop as you'd be much better off.

We stayed June 30th the lady was very rude, no help at all tried to charge us 150 deposit said we had animals we had no animals. The gentleman that worked at night was so friendly so helpful he cracked jokes and made us feel welcome! He went above and beyond for us after driving all day and all night. If it wasn't for him I would not give 5 starts. But because of how friendly he was I would give him 10.!
