I had to put my husband up here as a last resort while traveling on the job. In the 100 degree temperatures he got a box Fan instead of air conditioning. There was no remote to work the TV. Filthy.... refused to let him pay a weekly rate, so he had to wake up at the crack of dawn to pay for his room everyday so he could get to work and still have a room at night. He was traveling from Nebraska and when I called they refused to hold a room for him and said he needed to get there in the next 2 hours or someone else would fill up his spot. Awful!

I recently picked up two nights at this motel for my mother. This is the worst place ever to stay, it is run down and it is still $70 a night. You would think that at $70 a night they could improve the living of the guests staying here. Everything looks as if it was from the 70s. I personally will never stay at this motel ever. The only reason I didn't birch about it was because my mom said don't worry about it.

First off I wasn't staying there I was visiting a friend, so I couldn't believe how much she paid for THAT GROSS room. The toilet leaked at the ring in the floor, the bed was not in any way sleep worthy, the sheets were stained and the mattress ๐Ÿคฎ I seen the bed bugs with my own eyes, i told her to pack up she's coming with me!!! The mold the overall SMELL of the room made me gag, I wouldn't stay here there was a blizzard with below zero temps and the heat was not able to be controlled so it was on or off that's gotta be a fire hazard. The whole place is a fire hazard and a huge explosion just waiting to happen. The peoples that own it, manage it, work there should all be terminated for letting people stay in a possible condem worthy place!

If I'm being honest, this motel needs to be torn down and entirely rebuilt. The rooms are so old that they look like nothing has ever been remodeled. It looks like these were built in 1900. The old carpet and flooring was sticky, our shoes were sticking to it. There were cigarette burn holes in the chairs and comforters even though we had a non-smoking room. The light fixtures were completely rusted, the fridge and microwave didn't work. The lamp was broken and the lamp shade was torn. There were beard shavings in the top of the bathroom faucets. There was also a smell in our room. Luckily we only needed a bed, shower, and toilet for the night, so we weren't there long.

I wouldn't use this place. Thought it would at least be below average. But it was nasty.

๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿ‘ŽWe went there and there was nobody at the front desk to rent a room. Waited there for ten minutes nobody showed up. We went down the street and got a room there.

No this is not the Hilton but it use to be an okay place to stay. Now I'm here staying again ( we are subs) and I can't even get a cup of coffee before we go to work. 3 different people told me 3 different times that coffee could would be available. I asked 15 min before her time if she could please make a pot of coffee and she replied " No,it's not time and I don't make the rules". So if you want a cup of coffee DO NOT STAY AT THE PALMER HOUSE IN SIOUX CITY IOWA!!!!

The Palmer House Motel has a great staff. The manager is a great person to know. He is friendly and he will help you for whatever reason that you want his help for. The rooms are great they do accept dogs and cats and that is what we want when looking for a place to be at a time when you need a place to live.

Would be lower if I could. The only good thing about the hotel was the afternoon desk clerk. He was excellent. Went downhill after that. Room for 3 people had only 1 towel. Heat lamp in bathroom didn't work at all. Waited over an hour for housekeeping to bring towels this morning. Even though we offered to come pick them up and were told no. Then they had the audacity to call us and tell us that we needed to get out of the room Even though we told them we needed to take showers before we left which is why we called several times asking for towels. The desk clerk made it sound like it was our responsibility to let them know that we needed towels ahead of time. Even though we were waiting at the door at 2:00 a.m. to request towels but no one was there. So how are we supposed to get towels if you're not working the desk for us to get them??

Stayed in their weekly rooms for a couple weeks. Had to do my own laundry as far as linens and towels are concerned most of the time. They said housekeeping comes by Monday and Thursday but I was to busy to sit at the hotel and wait for them to come by, expected them to do their job and get the linens, Garbage, and towels themselves while I was gone. Got told that it was my responsibility to put all that outside my door on those days. I don't get back till afternoon so my clean linens and towels would be sitting outside on the ground that whole time I would be gone!?!? Why is it my responsibility. Isn't your job???

Avoid this place. LOTS OF DRUGS USE AND OTHER CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES. Bed bugs, mold, smells horrible, and general filth. LOOK AT THE PICTURES ON THE TAB TO THE RIGHT and you will see the type of staff they employ. Be prepared to do your own sheets and cleaning when you check in because it wonโ€™t be done for you.

Me and my family has moved up here from Oklahoma and the staff and owner are very nice people. And it is decently priced. Thank you Palmer House.

Arrived late in the evening near sundown after a long day behind the steering wheel and feeling very tired. Musty smelling, run down. Sheets were worn out and had what looked like blood stains. Then, I asked myself "Bedbugs" too? And then I spread my sleeping bag over the bed. Yucky. My impression was that the owner is in it to make money and doesn't care much about the customers. My bad for not inspecting the room before paying anything. I just felt so hammered.
