I was very excited to try this new restaurant, recommended by an Asian friend. I was extremely disappointed...first of all, I waited by the door with no help in sight for over 5 minutes, and when I was finished, I went to the counter to ask for leftover containers, since no one came over, waited another 5 minutes, and then the waitress wordlessly shoved a box and bag into my hands. I ordered chicken satay, which tasted ok, but it was the thinnest strips of chicken I had ever seen! I am Asian, and have had a lot of satay...the fried sweet potatoes looked great, but were tough and chewy, not crispy and crunchy. I ordered Thai wok rice noodles with chicken, and to my surprise, had to really look hard to find any chicken. There were a few thin shreds and maybe 4 small pieces of broccoli, for $10.50+tx, I received a plate of rice noodles with very little flavor! I have not had such poor service and food at any restaurant in Sioux City, ever! You can check out the photo and see if you can find the chicken!

Good experience over all. Not many customers when we went, but there was construction and also we were a bit past lunch time, so those probably factored in. The appetizer was quite good. Came with a small bit of Thai cucumber salad for a garnishment which was quite good all in itself. Meals were good as well. They didn’t shortchange on the garlic, which was fine by the both of us. They kept up on service, but didn’t over kill it either. Meals all came hot and fresh, and we liked everything we tried. Wouldn’t hesitate to try the same thing again, but their menu is extensive so we would also be very interested in seeing if we continued to like other things we could order as well. We will certainly be back, and it’s a good place for you to try out.

Bright, clean, good music and atmosphere. Thai spice of 1-3, 3 was delicious and will make you sweat a little. Good prices and portion sizes.

I recently dined at Pete's Thai on 5th. I had fantastic Pad Thai and fresh rolls. Despite the construction outside, the ambiance inside the restaurant was pleasant and inviting. The decor had an authentic Thai charm, and the warm, friendly atmosphere added to the overall dining experience. In terms of value for money, the place offered reasonably priced dishes, considering the quality and flavors delivered. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that I left the restaurant feeling satisfied and content. If you're in search of outstanding food I highly recommend Pete's Thai on 5th. While the ongoing construction outside may pose a minor inconvenience, it should not deter you from indulging in the incredible flavors this establishment has to offer. The food was simply superb.

The interior decor and atmosphere was much more upscale than I was expecting! The paper napkin rolled silverware clashed with the fancy dinnerware in my opinion but what really matters is the food quality and service - both of which were really good. We tried the Thai Ramen and Thai Fried Rice. The flavor continued to build with every bite - it was really well executed. Service was prompt and courteous.

Very cute place! Clean and well decorated. Friendly staff and food came out really quickly. I've never had flat rangoons before but they were just as good as wonton bundle style ones. I got the patt kra prow with tofu and it was really good! Great price and would go back for a lot of things that looked good on the menu.

Please everyone support this wonderful restaurant. My dad was in hospice. He wasn’t gonna make it and wanted a bowl of traditional rice soup. They immediately made it for him and did not charge. Their kindness was beyond anything I expected. I have so much respect for them. I am so thankful. My dad got his wish for his last meal thanks to them.

Pete's Thai on 5th is a gem in downtown Sioux City. Their service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere is perfect for a nice meal out with trendy decor and no loud music to talk over. And the food- MMMMM! My meal was around $10. Worth. Every. Bite. Can't wait to go back!

I've had about eight visits to Pete's. They have all been excellent. The service is great, the restaurant is clean and the food is delicious. My favorite is the basil fried rice. I just tried a green bean curry with fried tofu and it packed a LOT of flavor. Great spot for lunch as it is served quickly.

Honestly just felt like a worse version of diamond thai. The only decent part of the meal was the appetizers.

I really enjoyed the red curry that I got here. Incredibly fast and friendly service. Not the restaurant’s fault but be forewarned that street parking is limited so you may have to walk a block or two if it is a busy time.

My family loves coming to Pete’s Thai! We love ordering the jerky appetizer it’s so soft and tastes amazing. I love trying new things on the menu. I love the Tom yum soup, surf and turf pho, beef fried wok noodles, papaya salad, fried spring rolls, and the mango sticky rice when it’s in season is AMAZING. I like the Thai tea also!

We love thai food bwcause of the delicious spices and flavors...Our food had zero flavor. There was nearly no meat - we each had 4 shrimp in our dish. This happened the last time we went there as well, but we wanted to give them a second chance. I won't make that mistake again!
