👍 Came with two friends and reached this place around 7.30am on a Saturday. There's no queue at this point of time. But after about 30 mins then you'll realise the queue starts getting long 😂. Food is not bad but the service was a tad too slow maybe because the entire shop was full. We ordered two ad... Came with two friends and reached this place around 7.30am on a Saturday. There's no queue at this point of time. But after about 30 mins then you'll realise the queue starts getting long 😂. Food is not bad but the service was a tad too slow maybe because the entire shop was full. We ordered two additional fried dishes (but forgot to take photos), which came a bit late. In the end we had to "rush" the last two fried dishes because of the long line of people waiting outside. Overall worth a try. But the hargau skin is not so nice ...

This restaurant selling Hong Kong Dim Sum is clean and all food prices are reasonably affordable by diners across all spectrum of working class. Other than the popular Dim Sum sold here, the Hong Kong style Wantan Mee dried is another good choice for diners to order.

Great service! Experience of having the dim sum served by a server carrying the whole tray for you to select your preferred snacks is amazing. Quality of food is good and its busy even on a Monday morning which proves it to be true!

Wide selection of dim sum at affordable prices! Areuved at 9am over the weekend and had to queue for about 15min. Table turn was pretty fast, I must say. We enjoyed the Xiao Long Bao and chee cheong fun especially. The porridge wasn't super though. One of the nicer dim sum places in JB that we will want to patronise again, nonetheless!

My favourite dim sum place in Johor because they have super good dim sum and pu er tea. Plus the total cost was like below $50 SGD. Super good and great for family meals!

Food is ok but the services could be better. Wonder why are they not using food trolley to keep the food warm and more hygiene. The waiters/waitresses will bring trays of dim sum around and squeeze in onto your table, so either get a spacious table or be prepared to give way while you’re enjoying your food or tea. Parking in this area is usually crowded especially on weekends.

Absolutely delicious and tasty dim sum. Huge variety of selection as the server come by your table with different categories of dim sum. Special chili sauce available upon request and love their chee cheong fun too. Will definitely come back again.

I love the taro crisp; every time I go, it must be indispensable. It is a recommended dim sum restaurant, which can be a famous one in Johor Bahru.

Cheap and affordable dim sum, for 2 pax only 70RM and the price can easily be 50sgd if it’s in SG. But the food here is way better. Arrived to this restaurant at around 9+am on a Sat morning and there’s a long queue already. But I didn’t have to wait for long, after 10mins or so we got in and the service was really quick in serving the food. Highly recommended and will definitely be back again.

We ordered a diverse selection of dim sum items, including siu mai (pork dumpling), har gow (shrimp dumpling), fung zao (black bean chicken feet), no mai gai (sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf), xiao long bao (steamed pork dumpling), chee cheong fun (shrimp rice noodle roll), heong ma zin deoi zai (sesame deep-fried sticky rice ball), wat gai cheon gun (chicken-fried spring roll), chai row kway (fried carrot cake), and more. In total, it cost us RM160 for a group of four. We arrived at around 8:20 am on a Saturday morning and had to wait for a table for about 15 minutes. The crowd consisted of both locals and predominantly tourists from Singapore. Once seated, the staff took our orders for items from the kitchen, such as bao and stir-fried dishes. Additionally, waiters will tour around the premises with a wide variety of dim sum for us to choose from. Overall, the ambient reminded us of the good ol' dining experiences in Hong Kong!

Found this place from Google search. Drive all the way from Johor city to here. Not too far a drive. Food is super nice! I see most of the patrons are local, so it must be something the locals love. The tim sum is tasty. You can tell the chef has put in effort to come up with it. Ambient is a standard tim sum setting, and supeb for big family gathering. Will come here again 😋

Awesome dimsum at an affordable price. Service is extremely fast and attentive. Really liked the concept where the servers bring the tray of dimsum over to you for your selection. Highly recommend the beancurd prawn roll as it is simply delish.

Food is good… Upon sitting at the table, service staff will bring the food on a big tray for you to choose… Choose whatever you want… Anything you can’t find from the tray, just ask them and they will let you know if that’s available… To beat the crowd, go before 7.15am… After 7.30am, you will need to queue… Indoor and outdoor sitting… Nice place… 👍👍👍

Awesome dim sum ever! Really good place! I like their ordering style also, where you can just see the what they have on their tray when they come to your table, and then take and eat instantly! Everything tastes great and i only wish we can eat more but we were rushing off somewhere. Really love everything here and hope to come here soon! We were told the queue is often long but we were lucky that the queue is short today!

Do expect to queue when making a trip there. Although they have a huge dining area, it is quickly filled up with patrons during peak periods. However, upon getting seated, the service was swift. Food was served almost immediately with staff going from table to table with a variety of steamed and fried dim sums. Dim sums were flavourful and not too salty, averaging about RM7 per dish.

There are great varieties of Dim sum, from steam, braised and fried. The queue is long and expect long waiting time if reach there late. The serving of food is fast the the taste of their dim sum is good. Recommend to pay a visit when arriving JB.

Not as good as before. Seems as the dim sum are bought from commercial outlets. Have no specialty in their own dim sum. The owner have to inspect and maintain their food quality for improvement even though under pandemic situation.

Popular dim sum place with Singaporeans. Table service is provided here unlike other places where you place order and get served with the dim sum. Their Loh Mai Gai is especially good - you get a whole chunk of chicken!

Huat ah! Good place if you’re craving for tasty dimsum but don’t want to go HongKong. Their traditional dimsums are good (chee cheong fun, chicken feet, siew mai, porridge, fried beancurd stuff, fried carrot cake). But I don’t like the mango prawn dish, so you can skip that if you want!

Visited on Sun 27 Oct at abt 2pm. Food was generally tasty, esp the carrot cake. Service was prompt. Tables were big. No queues at all. Paid abt RM75 for 12 items + 2 drinks. Flies were buzzing around. The way the plates of food were handled didn’t reflect well on cleanliness. Certain food was also oily. Couldn’t really catch what some of the staff was trying to tell us. Not all can speak English.

Visited 06 October 2023 Bright Sunny Friday Morning. The following sharing are based on our unbiased personal opinion and experience Cleared the checkpoint within an hour and searching for dim sum restaurant on Google. Follow the map and experience ended up in Perling 大四喜。 First thought 🤔 in my mind I was thinking was this the same I used to frequent a decade ago back in Pelangi (where the current seven oak) is now. Anyone can verify And I vividly remember I saw another in Johor Jaya many many years back. If this is the same restaurant den it must be good 👍 😊 but Google map cannot locate the restaurant in the location anymore. Nonetheless we joined the snake queue and after 10mins of waiting we got assigned to our table of 5 pax. Service was pretty fast and efficient I would say. Service staff took our food and drink order and a wide variety of dim sum was delivered to our table to picking. Pretty decent I would say with not much hit or misses. Siew Mai was filled with shrimp 🍤, har gao was pretty much nah, chicken feet was also not towards our liking even thou it was soft, the Xiao long BAO was the kids favorite but the presentation wasn't impressive. Overall a very decent morning dim sum breakfast with not much options early in the morning.

Went to 大四喜 at about 10am and thankfully there wasn’t a queue, so we were seated almost immediately. For this restaurant, some of items (such as carrot cake, congee) will need to be ordered by the staff. The other items, such as the fried shrimps, steamed Siew Mai etc, they will have staff coming to your table for you to select and take what you want to eat. Overall a good place to have breakfast!

Love their dim sum. Lots of variety. Come early if you want to avoid the breakfast crowd. It gets pretty crowded and then you will have to wait. It's also open for lunch. The fried carrot cake is good. So is the chee cheong fun. Its one of my favourite dimsum places. Not halal tho.

  • 5/5 Michelle J. 5 months ago on Google
I didn't even have to wait even though it was a little crowded at 9am. The staff will bring the foods to let us choose just take whatever we want to eat. only special dishes staff will ask what you would like to eat.

What’s good: har gao, xo fried carrot cake, lor mai kai and 红油抄手. Their fried food are a bit oily. Service was fast and waiters kept coming to us with a new steam/fried dim sum.

Used to be very good and nice , but this time they serve the dish is cold , and the taste is so so only , not worth to try , price is acceptable . 锦城,御品,佳香 is way better than 大四喜 . 1. Food taste is below average : 2.5 star 2. Service still consider ok : 3 star 3. Price is ok : 3 star 4. Enviroment :3.5 star

Not bad. Kind of similar like in KL..we were there early about 830am on Saturday. There were 4 queues ahead. We waited for about 10min. We were continously asked whether we needed additional dim sums. Upon leaving, there was long queue, at least 10+ in the queues. So, be there early ESPECIALLY during the weekend. Generally, okay with food quality. We will go there again.

Crowded dim sum restaurants are a good sign. It means they're serving up many types of dumplings and other tasty dim sum goodies.

Need to go early if want to avoid queuing. Queue move quite fast though and this restaurant is patronise by their locals too. Their yam ball is a MUST order item. Har Gao comes with 2 bouncy shrimps and thin glass skin. Polo char siew bun is fluffy with generous char siew filling. Their Loh Mai Gai is so so only with strong lup Cheong smell. Tried their new item ham wrapped with golden mushroom and it's worth trying.

Decided to try another dim sun place in Johor after our first visit to Gim Cheng dim sum. The place wasn't crowded when we arrived. The dim sum are brought to our table by the staff. In my opinion, I wasn't impressed by their varieties and most of the items tasted below average. Wasn't worth driving 13km from custom to the restaurant. Will be my first and last time visiting this place. Total damage 68 Rm

Early breakfast review @7am . Location is good. Lots of parking spaces but there is also high traffic . Popular place. You will be served to a table fast but the after that things will slow down. There are attendants that will bring the food from table to table. Just place your orders with them. Chinese Tea is on a refill yourself at water point . Utensils are not the very clean (maybe my utensil box ). Place your porridge and Cheong funs with attendants. Things do take a while to come for order food. High crowd. Overall, nice eating place with reasonable pricing and quality of food. If you need Dim Sum and round the area… go for it.

Arrived at this dimsum place before the usual breakfast crowd which started around 9am. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seatings. There was a variety of dim sum served by the waiter from table to table for you to pick while seating comfortably at your seat. We didn't have to queue in line to pick our food from the counter. However, tea refill was self-service. The dim sum was satisfactory and I would recommend the chee cheong fun with mixture of shrimps and pork. The price of food is towards the pricier side and overall it was a pleasant experience dining at this restaurant.

Great selection of dim sum available. Traditional ways that server will bring trays of dim sum to your table for your selection. They will come in several rounds. Really enjoy… Customer service is good, as they have opened up a bigger table for our group of 15.

Wide selection of dim sum. But shop is always crowded. Might need to wait to get a table and also to order your meal. You need to wait for the servers to reach your table. Food is nice, we love the har1 kau2 and siew1 mai2. Will visit again.

Our group of 10 got there at about 815am on Boxing Day & got seated within 10mins. When we were done like 45mins later, the queue was snaking! Baked char siew pao was the nicest thing I ate there! It was soft, fresh & somewhat flaky. Liu sa pao was soft & tasty Har kow was disappointing; skin was sticking to the 'long' & the other har kow Chee chong fun w prawn only had 1 prawn per strip in the middle Mini egg tart was not warm nor flaky; can skip The portugese egg tart looked nice though, will try it next time Go early to avoid the queue

😠 It was my frst time and last time visiting this place. The overall experience is not worth the money spent. I find it ridiculous having to sign up being a member and pay rm290 to enjoy half price off the menu. I never heard of a restaurant running such ridiculous scheme. Its absurd. Even fine dining...
