Sjøstrand
simply
means
Sea
Beach,
and
is
a
gem
of
a
public
beach.
Accessible,
affordable
parking
(30
NOK
for
a
day)
with
plenty
of
space,
even
on
a
beautiful
day.
The
public
restrooms
are
well
kept,
clean,
and
free.
They
stink,
but
that’s
life.
Diving
boards,
a
float,
a
sand
volleyball
court,
a
café
which
serves
grilled
cheese,
hot
dogs,
and
various
toys
without
leaving
you
feeling
robbed.
The
beach
is
sandy.
A
bit
coarse,
but
totally
acceptable.
The
ocean
bed
is
a
bit
sandy
as
well,
so
no
need
for
beach
shoes!
The
water
is
shallow
along
the
beach,
and
deepens
gradually,
so
even
the
little
kids
get
to
play
around
in
the
waves
while
the
bigger
ones
can
challenge
themselves
further
out,
but
within
reach
of
us
old
folks.
There’s
also
a
huge
lawn
with
shadow
from
a
few
big
trees…
All
in
all
a
perfect
place
to
hang
out
with
family
and
friends
all
day!
As
a
bonus,
there’s
a
little
beach
right
next
to
the
main
beach.
Just
to
top
it
all
of,
you’ve
got
a
panoramic
view
of
Oslo.
Maybe
I
should’ve
kept
it
a
secret,
but
sharing
is
caring!
