It was very quiet in the restaurant when we arrived, and there only seemed to be two servers on and one chef. We were waiting to be seated and everyone was ignoring us. Two severs were having a chat by the bar, but they knew we were there waiting. Getting drinks, food and the bill took longer than it should have done.

Always a great carvery, fresh food and good portions of meats. The restaurants toilets let it down though, very old and need a freshening up. Staff are often polite and get you seated quickly.

Large plate of food which was very welcome. Reasonably priced. Turkey was a bit dry but the pork was better. Vegetables were too soft. Interior was dingy and the table was small. Waiting staff were friendly and drinks service was quick.

Food delicious as always. Staff very friendly and accommodating (hubby likes his plate stacked high). Lovely to my little girls age 3 and 5, made them feel very welcome.

Not busy at all at 15:00 on a Saturday afternoon. Food was hot and served in very hot plates (unlike other Toby's I have been to). Only one lady was serving, seating customers and clearing tables so there was a delay in getting noticed at times. Overall a pleasant experience.

Food was lovely however service was poor. We were seated for 40 minutes before our food order was taken after being continuously ignored by the servers when trying to gain their attention. When they finally came over we got no apology or even a greeting from the waitress. And each time we requested something e.g the bill she failed to follow through without being prompted multiple times. Understandable if they were rushed off their feet but it was fairly quiet. The staff at the carvery serving station were a lot more welcoming however.

A bit deceptive as, from outside, it looks shabby and in need of a bit of refurbishment. The paintwork outside, is faded and patchy and the wooden window frames, are largely rotten and would definitely benefit from being replaced. However, if you let the outside view put you off, you'll miss a treat. The inside is pretty clean and tidy, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is good, basic, fayre. We went for £5.95 all you want breakfast, unlimited teas on top it was great value. Good selection of the usual English breakfast choices including: fried eggs, mushrooms, hash browns, beans, tomatoes, bacon and sausages all of which were really tasty. The extra choice of a Yorkshire pudding (large and beautifully baked) was quite unusual, but, being from Yorkshire, I had to have one, and to my delight, it was a great idea. The chefs/cooks, frequently top up the food trays with nicely prepared fresh food. You can get your toast from the conveyor toaster (like on holiday in hotels abroad), and the PG tips tea never fails. You can, of course, get a breakfast at the hotel, but not at these prices and for me, hotel breakfast are never as tasty nor plentiful as this. Car parking requires you to register as you enter, but it's free (other hospitality providers should take note), so you can relaxe and enjoy the great food here.

I recently visited Toby Carvery with my children and it was an outstanding experience! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the juicy roasts and the variety of mouthwatering sides. The service was exceptional, with friendly staff who made us feel welcome and attended to our needs promptly. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to enjoy a hearty meal with family and friends. I highly recommend Toby Carvery for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. You won't be disappointed!

I booked a table but had to wait 20 minutes in the queue to be served at the bar no menu just how many for breakfast paid then sat down to read the menu to find out if you want scrambled egg to tell the staff when ordering so back in the queue order scrambled eggs, paid for 2 lattes then got in the 25 minute queue to get the breakfast returned to my table to find cold scrambled eggs and the lattes, I asked for fresh hot scrambled eggs when it returned it was reheated in the microwave, the staff where very helpful, polite and the restaurant was clean and continually being cleaned however the amount of food that people where allowed and was taking only to be left on the table uneaten hence why the queue was never going down because the food had to be continuously topped up at the counter, after eating the breakfast I made myself a up off Tea only to find the water was Luke warm, I think Toby need to monitor and put something in place to get the queues down and stop the food waste being left on the plates by people putting 6 sausages, 6 bacon, 4 hash browns, 2 scoops of beans, 2 spoons mushrooms, 3 spoons of potatoes only to leave half, I did witness that today by the person who was 4 people in front of me and the person In front of me

My best friend & I called in to this Toby Carvery for breakfast having left home in Devon at 3am, driven up to London for 2 jobs, the first in Kensington, then on to Harrow. We checked on Google maps for somewhere to get breakfast near the M4 on our return journey & found this place less than half a mile from junction 5, which made it quick & easy to get to. 👍😀 So we'll remember this place for future use. We both had the All you can eat breakfast which was great for only £8 each. There was lots of bacon & good quality sausages, I also liked the button mushrooms which were firm, not squidgy. We had a couple of cups of coffee each then we were all set for the day. We were surprised how busy it was at about 9:30am but it was a Friday morning just 3 days before Christmas so there were several people who were obviously work colleagues getting together for a last working day, pre Christmas breakfast & families starting their holiday weekend. To add to the Christmas spirit the venue had decorations up & the staff were wearing Christmas jumpers & hats. 🎊🎄🥳 There was Father Christmas sat at a table welcoming children, ringing his bell & saying " Yo ho ho, Merry Christmas". 🎅🏻🔔

The roasts were absolutely spot on. It’s not the newest of buildings but the food is brilliant and the service is fantastic. We had two ladies look after us,Sharon and Angela and there were brilliant and very attentive. Will definitely be returning. Thanks

The restaurant was fairly empty when we went yesterday, but we were still sat directly by what I can only describe as a rough family, who were talking loudly about sha*ging birds and laughing loudly about it. I'm all for a laugh, but not when it's in my ear at a stupid level in the middle of the day. Walking back to the table with our food, we had a lovely view of their backsides hanging out of their trousers. The food wasn't the best, there wasn't much selection out and what was there was stale. Can't say I would go back here.o

My wife and I shared the experience with 3 visitors from the USA, they loved it. We described the carvery roast meal as 'Similar to a home cooked Sunday family meal but with a choice of carvery meats to choose from' They couldn't stop talking about it. Well done Toby

I loved it so much! My first time there with my family and staff were so kind and welcoming. Food was excellent and prices are so reasonable for the amount you get. Everybody enjoyed it and we definitely will be coming back. Thank you!

Excellent place to eat, gets busy. Make sure you make reservations for Sunday roast. They do walk-ins, might have to wait a bit. The service was very exceptional!

The food was delicious and meat was verry tender. It was a great way to spend our Christmas day. Although there where alot of kids running around the members of staff did there best to control the situation, that was the only thing letting down the whole experience. Our waitress was Sharon she was lovely and verry freindly as well as calm and collected even though it was verry stressful. Definitely would rate a 10/10. There are also vegan options and the wait time is verry short despite how busy it was, My favorite thing I had was my dessert the festive crumble. This included a lovely and thick custard with a punchy strong ruhbarb to compliment the sweetness of the apple and everything was clearly made fresh. I will definitely be comming here again - ash

Always good, just that little more special when you’re hosted by Sharon; couple of her jokes, always greeted with a great big smile, and very personable. Highly recommend.

Service was very good, was a little early but they managed to get us seated. The lady that served our table was lovely and the food was delicious. Had a selection of 4 meats and lots of vegetables to choose from as well as huge Yorkshire puddings, and macaroni cheese

Wendy was great from the moment we booked. Kept in touch via phone and email. Our waitress on the day was also very good. Excellent service. It was Christmas Day and well worth the £66 for a three course meal.

Christmas Dinner was not as tasty as the last time we came here. All felt rush and like they cut corners. I was disappointed which is a first for Toby's. I still enjoyed myself but I think that had more to do with who I was with. Dessert was good and the starters was lovely

Toby carvery Langley exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The combination of delicious food, impeccable service, and a good ambiance made for an unforgettable evening. I left with a profound appreciation for the hospitality displayed by the entire team

Food was okay. Good carvery but nothing special. Service was very poor. Drinks order was forgotten about. Reminded once, and still no effort to get the drinks. Finally we cancelled the drinks order out of frustration as we were almost finished with the meal. In addition, she served the wrong desserts twice. To be fair, they removed the incorrect items from the meal. However, serving food with wrong ingredients can at other times have more severe consequences such as allergic reactions. They need to be more careful and generally switched on with service and recording customer orders.

It must have been the worst roast dinner I have ever tried to eat. Meat just left dry and far from moist, roast potatoes re cooked Veg is cold and wilting, not much to say on a positive note. Will not be going back anytime soon.....

Very accommodating to allergies and a waiver form was provided which is reassuring when dining out. The manager who seated us was helpful with my request of sitting in a corner seat. I was very appreciative for this as my experience was relaxed. The waitress that served us was wonderful and polite. The overall atmosphere stimulates a peaceful and calming experience. The food was amazing and I was very content after eating.

As always the roasts were excellent, I had the beef which was very tender, and good size portion. Veggies were the usual good selection but no dripping roasties. 😢 There only seemed to be one lady serving on the tables, but she was managing very well. Restaurant could use a refurbishment as the decor is tired in places, and the toilets are disgraceful - need complete repair

Went for Breakfast there, was not busy, there isn't really "service" as the bar staff just give you cups, cutlery & take your payment. They were efficient & pleasant. The food has definitely improved. Now using unsmoked back bacon as opposed to streaky makes a lot of difference. Good choice of items. A great value Breakfast and well worth the money.

Clean, tidy, super friendly and professional staff. Wendy was a stand out. Happy, welcoming and smiling. Exactly as you'd want to be greeted. Food was piping hot, chefs and servers were well presented and friendly. A credit to your company. I'd stop there again anytime. Thank you for a great meal

We always receive a warm welcome and Sophie is an excellent waitress. Polite, helpful, friendly and she gave us the right amount of time between courses and then the bill. There was a couple at a table near us, the man kept complaining about the table being sticky. She cleaned the table for him 3 times but that didn't stop him moaning. He was quite annoying actually. She handled herself and the situation perfectly. Well done Sophie, i hope we see you again next time we visit.

Nice hot carvery with all the extras, weekday prices are fair, currently £9. Staff were really nice and welcoming. Car park seems a bit small for the size of the restaurant. Place was clean and service was quick.

We were greeted straight away and shown to our table where a waitress called Angelina welcomed us. Angelina was very friendly and explained the carvery option and the menu. Angelina was very attentive throughout our visit, even when it was clearly evident that the restaurant had become much busier. The carvery service was great, and the food that was ordered from the menu arrived swiftly. We will definitely be back!

I attended the restaurant today, and asked for a table for myself, my husband and 8 children. They said that they were too busy to accommodate us, when I asked if they would mind putting 2 tables of 4 together, they replied “no, just in case we have a table of 4 that needs seating”. I’m not sure what the difference is if 2 individual families occupy that space or 1. Then the manager told me they’d seat us in 2 hours time, when I replied this was too long she said “we’ll go to the harvester then”. I feel like they were discriminating us because we were a big family and I will be making a formal complaint.

First of the waitress was lovely, she was very helpful. Unfortunately the food wasn't great, we ordered pigs in blankets which arrived black and rock solid (these were deducted for the bill). The potatoes where soggy and very oily and most of the veg was very mushy. However The meat and gravy were lush according to the kids. There was also gum on the underside of our table (spotted by the kids). It's been a while since my last toby experience so I'm not sure if this is the norm these days, it used to be amazing.

We were booked in for a table of 9 (very indecisive) people and our server was brilliant. She was so attentive and friendly, and all the service was fantastic. Food was great as usual, at great prices, and in such a convenient location for us as a group. We were two small groups travelling from different parts of the country and this Toby was in the perfect place for us to meet in the middle.

Food was good and very well priced. A decent hot meal with all the trimmings. Easy parking during the week days. Staff could have been more friendly on the off set, so my mate had to confront her and bring the rudness to their attention. A little attitude back then it was good service after that. They still do the breakfast which I'll try at some point.

  • 3/5 Yash R. 2 years ago on Google
Visited this place for a lunch buffet. The Turkey roast was good but the others like gammon, beef and pork roast were really dry and hard. The vegetables and the highly rated toby sauce were the highlights of the dish. Also tried a sundae which was good too. Lastly would highly rate the staff here! They were polite and always willing to help out and even provide honest recommendations. Would visit again to mostly try the other sundae and pudding offerings they have.

Just finished breakfast for the second day here as staying in the Travelodge attached. Excellent value and food. Had a meal there first night and although they were very busy the service was excellent. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Full marks and thank to you all.

Pretty much back to pre-covid days now. It is not necessary to book, you queue as before if you are having a carvery, soda self service is back in place. Everything was fine.

Great food and place. Portion sizes are quite big. (meat and big Yorkshire puddings) Has a nice bar area as well. Will visit again.
