Their campground is a hidden gem. Very beautiful and quiet little place. I've never been here with more than a few camp sites occupied. Thier shower house could use a serious update. You can use the Smithville Recreation center showers and bathroom which are way nicer. But both are always clean. You can frequently spot deer here morning or evenings. They always have wood to burn in the pits. WIFI is hit or miss. Playground for the kiddos, the river, walking trails. Nearby Buescher State Park, Texas Works coffee and Comfort Cafe in town. Lots to do. I love how dark it is here at night. Weekly rate is $100, $350 monthly. All rates are on the Smithville website.

This is a nice park operated by the City of Smithville. It features an RV park with RV dump station and bathrooms; a rodeo arena; baseball fields; performance stage; pavillon; vendor stalls and even an 18 hole disc golf course. There a number of events held in the park each year. It is a nice stop between Houston and Austin. More than that, it can be a place to use as a base for exploring the area.

As a local this was disheartening.. its a DECENT plsce but not at all "well kept" parks from here to CO are prepared and ready for travelers to be later then plannined or unable to book ahead and they have no fuss) but when i parked in a spot with NO reservation posed i was told by an officer patrolling that "this is theft"..... @ 3AM!!!! He barely left me alone and only because he "saw the cash"....... when i called to pay/find where to pay that day, i was told i would need to move (only 2 other campers were here) she said "oh we dont keep up with those signs" ..... 🤦🏼‍♀️i think thats clear... i had originally wanted to do what other places do and keep up the matenenance.. was told that 4 guys are having to do that "on their time" 🤨😮‍💨overall i was very wrong in believing Smithville wasn't what i kept hearing... careful of your decision to stay here. i paid for a month and shorted 6 days changing her answer for my my mom when i had no way of taking them cash... hopefully Smithville starts to defiy the stareotype of ugly characteristics in a small town ...

Great park by the Colorado River. There is Great Oaks that are hundreds of years old. Nice pavilions and walking trails. City host Jamboree in this park every April with bands carnival and many food vendors. Don't waste a night not visiting during the Jamboree. Or visit for a family gathering or picnic.

It's a nice park with disc golf, play grounds, and a fishing dock (which is high and dry). There isn't a lot of shade but there is some. Nice kayak beach launch also but if you have wheel it would be helpful.

Nice little park to drop in to enjoy your lunch at the picnic area. Nice option to take your dog for a walk. Has frisbee golf course, river access, playground, and a small basketball court. The only big drawback is the abundance of sticker burrs.
