The appetizer we had (egg plant and 2 Greek dips) were fresh and tasted excellent. I got the gyro platter, so fresh and also tasted soooooo good. My wife got the lamb platter the lamb was to die for. It was really that good.

I ordered through Doordash and typically expect an okay experience after food is picked up and delivered. This exceeded my expectations and may have been the best Doordash order I’ve ever gotten. Even after a bit of a drive the food was phenomenal. Huge portions and absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be making this a regular spot and look forward to trying it fresh at the restaurant!

Service was good. Food was good. Menu, which I wished I would have took a photo of since I couldn’t find one in the photos, had options you would expect to find at a Greek establishment such as gyro and Greek salads, platters, falafel, baklava, etc. platters with pork & chicken pictured. Pita was good but didn’t take a photo. They also had Greek fries on the menu — French fries with feta and tzatziki which sounded really good, but we didn’t try this time.

Six of us enjoyed a perfect meal last night. Great service, delicious food and very welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Love that it’s BYOB as well!! I will say, I had read other reviews before going…. Bottled water is NOT $6 like mentioned in another comment. Regular bottled water is on the menu for $2. Go and enjoy!!

PLEASE READ THE YELP REVIEWS BEFORE COMING HERE - we did not and “paid the price” food wise and how much the bill was. service was awful, the food was not even close to as good as it should have been for the price point (VERY EXPENSIVE). had to ask for refills numerous times because the server just wouldn’t bring them, and we ended up not ever getting them. the food was truly some of the worst i’ve had in a long time. the atmosphere was stuffy, and the only word i can think of to describe the over all experience was AWKWARD and uncomfortable. they force you to pay for water “per policy”?? $2!!!!! (which is clearly a money grab) after looking at yelp, i see when people leave true and honest reviews, they get threats directly from the owners (which also should be an indication of the vibe of this establishment). all these google reviews had to have been paid for, or free food was given for the review. paid over $200 for some of the worst food in Atlantic City. we all left barely touching our plates. very disappointed that our family vacation ended eating here.

The chicken kabob was so tough I could hardly eat it…. And the rice was honestly disgusting. When I politely complained, the owner came to my table and yelled at me… loudly! She said her food was delicious! It was a Saturday night at 6:30pm and most of the tables were empty. The salad was so dry that we asked for extra vinegar, which they charged $2 for. I asked for water… but they brought bottles. He explained that they will not serve tap water. So it is $3 water or nothing. There are literally hundreds of better restaurants than this… please… go to one of them. Or you too can deal with the most obnoxious owner ever!! By the way, this is a picture of the cobwebs over my table! Ugh.

We’ll, we arrived at 6:20pm tonight for our 6:30pm reservation for five people - they took awhile to seat us (others waiting before us walked out & owners didn’t seem to notice) got our drinks, waited a good 40 minutes for our hummus and beets appetizers (cold appetizers - should have come out right away) and then, more waiting and more waiting - I think we live there now. Our meals came out at 8:00pm!! The food was ok/good, not worth waiting that long. No apology either. No one even smiled at us, no warm greeting or friendly service. Drinks took one and a half hours to get a refill!! They never offered to make it right by giving us a dessert or anything. They have zero customer service skills. The mother & father are cooking and their son is the server. In case no one told them, ummm, you need to hire another server and another cook! Would we ever go back? Not unless I was so bored to death with my life that I had hours to sit around and wait for chicken on a skewer 🫤

So disappointed as been coming here for a few years. Food is FANTASTIC! Service is lacking. Waiter makes up the experience and he fell well short of expectations. After all how hard is it to say hello to the table? He actually switched my bill at check out with a different amount After initially presenting the check - unethical and should have pointed out he forgot things the first time. I thought he was actually comping the appetizers due to forgetting things. Again interact with the guests if you are a waiter. Forgot to bring pita for the 3 platters and gave me an attitude when asked after tracking him down. Basically threw down the food and left. No tap water at a restaurant? Never heard of this policy and charges per water bottle instead as said he was a capitalist. For the first time left $0 tip as it was not deserved. I hope he realizes he spoiled the evening and self reflects on how he acted and the service he provided if he sees this. Won’t be back.

Very glad I finally checked this place out . The food was great ! Really enjoyed the space ! Great friendly staff . Can definitely tell it’s family run which is nice to see .. the food was fresh . Made to order . I did not mind waiting one bit . Nice to have the food made to order. Will definitely be going back often to try the other items on the menu .

I’ve been here a few times but tonight was my first time back in a long time. I came with family on a busier than usual Tuesday night and had a brand new server (blonde woman; can’t recall her name). She was professional and kind and very accommodating. The food was absolutely awesome! The grape leaves were my favorite. We enjoyed the trio dip, feta and olives platter, chicken soup, gyro platter, lemon potatoes, and the chicken kebabs. Everything was perfect and fresh AND very reasonably priced. It took a bit longer than expected for entrees to come out, but being in the service industry, I understand how hectic it can be when many parties order at once. The food was definitely worth the wait! This place is cozy and pleasant, truly a hidden gem. Would definitely recommend!

My wife and I absolutely loved the food and how lovingly it was prepared. We found the atmosphere nice but the decor inside a bit dated. For a real Greek decor (We are Greek btw) I would recommend the walls be painted white and the wood trim blue (Greek blue) the curtains and the light fixtures are gorgeous. The floor doesn't need any change at all it would go beautifully with the scheme I am proposing. Finally we noticed there is an nice outdoor seating area which if revamped with new tables, chairs and umbrellas would be stunning with a few more of the beautiful potted plants you already have. All in all we enjoyed our experience immensely and would highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious home cooking and family atmosphere

I went to Athenian Garden last night with my ten month old baby and one other adult. We were having a pleasant meal, and my baby was completely happy. But because she is a baby and was happy, she was letting us know about her happiness by making sort of loud happy baby noises once in a while. No one was bothered at all, and the table next to us also had a few young children. There were only three other tables filled in the restaurant other than our table. However, about halfway through our meal the owner very rudely came over to the table to say "your baby is being too loud" and basically telling us to leave. It was so rude that the waitress came over after to apologize for the owner's comments, and I could hear her chef-husband afterward telling his wife that it was not okay to do. We quickly finished, paid, and left. And I promise we will not be back even though we live nearby. This restaurant is not formal enough to have such a policy. And if a restaurant is not going to permit happy children to eat there, that should be published on their website. I would understand if my baby were crying and making a scene, but that is not what was going on.

Thank you Nick Psounos & Roula Psounos for the delicious Greek Salad. The marinated chicken skewer was cooked perfectly. Loved the warm pita bread and the dressing was spot on. 😃🇬🇷🥗

First impression was not that good. The dining room is old and outdated......like going to your grandmother's house. Server was pleasant. The dishes were ample portions and freshly prepared which was refreshing but lacked some of the bright flavors that I enjoy with Greek food. Okay place for a change of pace .

The best tasting food in the South Jersey area. Very fresh, natural flavors. The wait is appropriate - not long, because it takes some time to prepare a real flavorful food while you can enjoy great appetizers. My favorite! THANK YOU!

A true hidden gem not far from the shore and worth the short drive. Everything was made to order and it showed - the bass and gyro were fabulous, as was the mezze triò. Cozy atmosphere, fresh and authentic Greek food, and BYOB is always a plus!
