The people at the airport are friendly and welcoming. A very intimate set up. Not big and easy to get around. Did not like the toilets as they where filthy. Had to wait to get to the hotel

I would give this ACSA all stars however, I would like to believe that this facility has a potential to be the one of the best domestic airport as it is closest to the town it is currently named after. It takes literally less that 8 minutes to drive from Kimberley CBD to Kimberley Airport which is rare in most domestic airports around South Africa πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦. The staff members at this airport are friendly and welcoming, the check in process for the departures and the disembarking process for the arrivals are both effective and efficient. Car hire pick up and drop off as well as General pick and drop off for private airport transfers is seamless. I really enjoyed the entire process. There is a restaurant to grab something to eat as you wait for your next departure too. Looking forward to the next visit.

Check in and security staff were friendly and efficient. Could do with more seating in departures waiting room.

The fact that I have to haul my luggage closer to the physical exit of the Airport's premises is ridiculous and an inconvenience. There is a lack of signage. There is no politeness or standard professionalism in how passengers are addressed when guiding them to check in. You can not address someone with the words "Hey, hallo, over here" again, lack of signage.

Used the airport three weeks ago to get a connecting flight in Johannsburg. The Kimberley airport was totally renovated in 2010 for the FIFA Soccer World cup . Since then maintainance has disappeared from the vocabulary !!!!! What a shame. Kimberley airport has become quiet busy over the last few years. In winter overseas hunters arrive here . During the year business people commute weekly from here to JHB or visa versa . Toilets are tatty, toilet paper not refilled ( when asked, it was recommended that I should ask my "toilet neighbor" for some) !!!, No soap , no paper or hand towels. Damage locks, toilet handles etc. Staff at the departure desk friendly and helpful. Like everywhere in the country facilities are not maintained.

Car parking is more expensive than ever. It's now R25 for 30 minutes! To add insult to injury one of their two ticket validating machines accepts only cards - not cash. And it gets better. Said machines are so poorly positioned that in the early morning you can't see what's on their screens because of the bright sunlight. We'll done the Airports Company.

Small airport with only 4 gates. Car Rental close by. Not much to do once you get past security, which can be troublesome if your flight is delayed as ours was :(

Kimberley Airport, located in the heart of South Africa's Northern Cape, is a compact and efficient regional airport that provides a valuable connection to this historically rich and culturally diverse part of the country. My recent visit to this airport revealed its simple yet effective functionality. The airport's smaller size means that check-in and security procedures are quick and straightforward, making it a convenient choice for travelers seeking access to the Northern Cape's unique attractions. While it primarily handles domestic flights, it serves as a vital transportation link for those exploring this lesser-visited region of South Africa. The terminal may not be as grand as those in major international airports, but it is clean and well-maintained. It offers a limited but sufficient selection of dining options, and the airport's duty-free shops provide travelers with an opportunity to purchase local crafts and products, including diamonds, for which Kimberley is famous. One of the highlights of Kimberley Airport is its historical significance, with exhibits and displays honoring the city's role in the diamond mining industry and South African history. Additionally, the airport's proximity to the Big Hole and other local attractions makes it an ideal starting point for exploring this unique part of the country. In summary, Kimberley Airport is a modest but serviceable gateway to the Northern Cape, offering an easy and straightforward entry for travelers exploring the historical and cultural gems of this region. It may not offer the extravagance of larger airports, but it provides a warm welcome to those seeking to experience the rich history of Kimberley and its surroundings.

No drop and go parking ever available and the staff will shout at you out of frustration because there is nothing else for them to say except keep driving around.

Kimberly airport process flow from ckeck-n boarding needs serious consideration. I've used this airport twice for morning flights. There's huge delays to check in because there's one person assisting. The check-in ladies must lift the heavy laguages to load onto the conveyor belt, which may lead to employee back health problems which is occupational related by the way There's only one security gate which causes a bottleneck. At boarding gates, information screens are not working or show incorrect information. Flying through Kimberly airport is becoming a nightmare of stress.

The boom gate thing is a pain in the a...e. Add to that the long wait for a coffee while staff members are having a tiff .... in essence equates to horrific service!

We had a terrible experience in Kimberley Airport. We were travelling to Johannesburg Airport connecting to an international flight back to Europe and when we went to check in our suitcases we were told the Captain of our flight had already balanced the weight on the plane and could not take our suitcases. We were told to rebook our flight for the next day (meaning missing our connecting flight from Johannesburg to Amsterdam) or go to the cargo department and ask someone to pick up our luggage in Johannesburg the next day, we are tourists so obviously we would not be able to do that. The lady in check in was so unpleasant and we asked to speak to the manager but unfortunately she was equally as unpleasant. The only option we had was to leave our suitcases in the Airport with all our belongs. When we finally boarded the aircraft my husband luckily seen our bags being loaded on to the aircraft. What a lot unnecessary stress and tears.

Small Airport. Checking in and Security relativly quick and easy, can get overcrowded with long lines if very busy. Small restaurant area. Not a lot of seating otherwise. Drop off and go parking also limited, but not usually a problem.
