Devil's Tree

Tourist attraction

πŸ‘ Definitely an ominous tree. It's hard to spot off the road, but when you drive nearby it slowly rolls into view and you can just see why the tree is so evil. Every piece of foliage looks like it was placed there, not grown. And the pathway to the tree is just so pronounced you kinda wonder if you're... People often mention tree, cool,

It's a tree filled with mystery and urban legends from it being haunted to unconfirmed hangings. It's a cool stop if you're in the area. There's nothing else to see once you see the tree though. It's best to go in the fall you can tell which one it is because it stands out

Every piece of foliage looks like it was placed there, not grown. And the pathway to the tree is just so pronounced you kinda wonder if you're walking into hell itself. But it was definitely interesting to view.

Pretty cool and legendary location. People have tortured this tree and yet it stands. Been meaning to visit for years and this time around finally made it. Was not disappointed to meet the Devils Trees acquaintance.

Terrible history surrounding the tree. Eerie vibe. Don’t mess with it.

Went here at 3 am, it’s hella dark but my car’s light bars helped a lot. My friends said they heard things when we were walking up the path. We also saw bones which freaked us out.

It's just a tree, make of it what you want. I thought it was cool considering all the history and the legends. But if you're looking for a supernatural experience or anything more you wont find it here

Its an old dead tree that has graffiti on it...not much else to say. Don't really know the history behind it, but stopped her along the way from a different town to show out of town guests interesting stuff along the way. The tree looks like someone has tried to chop it down in the past. This creates a little ledge that people have left some coins on it. The grass is overgrown and old and it was a bit muddy. Don't expect too much. But if you're into the paranormal or a "ghost hunter" it might be a cool place to check out. Definitely have other things planned otherwise this might be a bit disappointing.

Cool place to visit. My phone went crazy as I got close to the tree. The phone crashed as I stood near the tree.... It was strange.

Really cool to finally see the tree that I have read about in Weird NJ since I was a kid. Tree itself is cool and somehow still appears healthy after being assaulted for decades. However, the area around the tree is severely under managed and rife with invasive species. Some signage denoting the significance of the tree would be great.

Definitely worth seeing if you live in Somerset County. I went at night which I’d definitely recommend to get the full effect. I definitely would not touch it though. I do remember going right before the Super Bowl in 2018 - it must have put a curse on me/teams I root for because the Eagles are about to win their second Super Bowl since visiting. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Very interesting tree. Too bad they cut down the one limb. It's been a long time since I've been here but it was always fun. Lots of different creepy things happened. Sadly I lost all of the pics I had from back in 2007. Snow does touch the tree, I have seen it in all 4 seasons. Definitely be wary of the locals.

Go at night, pee on it and then keep walking. The adrenaline after 1 mile gets intense πŸ˜‚.

I came here one time during the winter right after it snowed heavily. Despite there being at least 11 inches of snow in the surrounding area, all of the snow surrounding the area of the trees truck was melted completely. It far too cold for the snow to melt.
