I had the pleasure of recently briefly visiting the Lord Charles Hotel. The staff where an absolute pleasure and do South Africa and the hotel proud. Nothing was too much trouble for them! Marc at the door was particularly outstanding as a real gentleman! Thanks to everyone1

Had a perfectly presented conference there this weekend. Beautiful rooms, friendly and helpful staff, especially Grezelda (I hope that is spelled right) at the Garden Terrace restaurant who is especially awesome, and very very good food.

Loved everything about the place. The rooms are big. The service is amazing, the Hotel has amazing views and pool.

Excellent getaway from the hustle and bustle. Great conference facilities. Caters to all your business requirements. Plenty of facilities to just unwind and relax. The food is great with great variety for everyone.

This is such a fabulous hotel for a family holiday...had a great time swimming with my kid. The views are breathtaking and the service we received from the moment we checked in throughout our stay is amazing. Lovely place.

We went there for a business breakfast. The venue is stunning the gentleman who received me at the door was professional and friendly. The buffet breakfast had limited options for vegans, there was fruit but the warm breakfast only had mushrooms, potatoes and grilled tomato. I do believe that there is room for improvement when it comes to catering for vegans. They did have almond and soy milk though which I appreciated, I did wish I had an option to have the milk warm. There was no opportunity to ask as the waitress brought it and rushed off. However the ambiance is great. A family and business friendly place. With a classic charm. The bar area is cozy and beautiful, great for business meetings and after work drinks.

We can in all honesty say that we have not been to the Lord Charles since the mid 2000's! In the day it had it's old world charm, but it was always a little rough around the edges. WOW - were we pleasantly surprised to see the newly renovated and upgraded hotel. Definitely has a more luxurious feel. Love the art pieces on display in both the hotel as well as the garden. The garden area and forest glade is perfect for wedding photos. As Cape Town wedding photographers, it's not often we get to shoot at a hotel and walk away saying - wow that was amazing! Rooms are very clean and neat with comfortable soft pillows, i slept like a baby. The buffet breakfast is to die for, they had plenty yummy food, we were spoilt for choice. Friendly and professional workers all around, am definitely going back there again soon

Wow my first time at the Lord Charles Hotel, absolutely beautiful we had our Annique Christmas in July there over the weekend. Services was excellent friendly staff and the food was amazing.

The hotel is set in stunning surroundings with well-kept gardens and facilities. The rooms have been renovated to a good standard, clean and fresh. The television was on a movable bracket, which was great, I would love mire water in the room after it had been serviced. There were different duvet on the beds, which didn't match up. A nice touch with the cafetiere but needed more coffee and milk for 2. The food was absolutely beautiful and very tasty, disappointed the bar closed at 1100 as a lot of the customers would have loved a further night cap after they returned from there evenings. Pool area and beds very comfortable and the staff couldn't do enough for you. The location was a little isolated so you need to use transport to go anywhere.

The staff is very friendly and competent. Super clean, comfortable and luxurious. The only negative comment I have, and this is something that was quite inconvenient, is that the rooms are not sound-proof at all. We could almost hear every word the couple spoke in the room next door as well as snoring and being woken by their alarm sound from their cellphones. And it's not as if they were speaking particularly loudly, the walls are just super thin. Besides this, we had a wonderful stay.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this historic hotel. The stunning grounds and beautifully maintained property were a treat to explore. The restaurant's food was absolutely delicious and every dish was bursting with flavor. What really made my stay memorable was the staff - they were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my entire stay. I was impressed with the level of service and attention to detail. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The new ownership has done an amazing job and I give this hotel a 5/5 for an all-round pleasurable experience. Carreen

Last night my wife and I revisited the Lord Charles "La Vigna" restaurant. What a delight! Soooo much better than our first experience! We were greeted by our friendly and professional Maître d', "Ben," at the door looking quite sharp. He showed us to our reserved table making us feel really welcome. Our waiter for the evening was "William" and we found his service to be excellent. Our white wine was perfectly chilled as was the sparkling water we ordered. The bread that was served as an appetizer was steaming hot from the oven and just divine with smoked butter - just a nice touch of class! We were surprised by the waiter bringing us a small sample delight of beef on the most magnificent jus - taste buds heaven! My wife ordered the Kingklip as before and I decided on the Chalmar Beef fillet. Both dishes were beautifully presented and literally melted in our mouths. The atmosphere and ambience in the restaurant was top notch. Our whole experience was a delight. We strongly recommend a visit to "La Vigna"

Beautiful artistic hotel. Intimate pools, wide grounds, and amazing scenery. The hotel is rich with art pieces, colorful tiles, walls, couches and centerpieces. The rooms are big and and the duvets are very warm.

It is close to a shopping centre and great eating spots just in case you wanna eat outside. The rooms were amazing with awesome an awesome view. The room service was also amazing. They always attended to all my requests kindly so. It's a 10/10.

Wonderful breakfast. Friendly, helpful and competent staff. Lovely experience from the well-kept gardens to the beautiful interior. Loved watching the squirrels while eating the sumptuous breakfast. Will definitely recommend you. Arthurene Theron

I was there with a work function so I haven't interacted with the staff as such except at dinner and our waitress was very friendly and professional. One small problem that I had is that the gents restroom had a very bad smell and funny enough one of the staff members was in the restroom why didn't they report it because that smell was there throughout our stay. Other then that it was a pleasant stay, the rooms are very comfortable with couches and TV.
