I love this mall. It is huge , well maintained and very clean. All the shops you could possibly need is under one roof. One of the positives of this mall is that parking is free and there is more than enough parking as there is underground parking as well. We also live in the Northern Suburbs so this mall is perfectly located for us to use. We frequent this mall often and to be honest it is mostly to use their food court. The staff is very friendly at all the shops that we have used and they are always eager to assist you. The one negative about this mall is that it only has one floor. This means that you really have to come prepared to walk far from one shop to another as some shops are obviously far from each other. That’s why malls such as Canal Walk, Tygervalley and so many other malls has more than one floor. Moving from one floor to the next is made easier by using lifts and escalators. So if you coming to shop at Somerset Mall, you should put on comfortable shoes and have enough time to walk, as this mall may be flat but it also massive!

This mall is a walking workout from on end to the other. Most of the big brand retail stores are there and across the road, you can find even more at the Lifestyle centre. If you are too far from the Food court (at one mall end), there are plenty other restaurants dotted throughout the centre. Parking is abundant and underground parking is cheaper than other malls in Cape Town. The mall gets very crowded on weekends nearly to the point of it being oppressive. The new ceiling is being installed and hopefully it will update the industrail look. There could be more bathrooms and more mall shuttles and wheelchairs could go a long way to assisting people with difficulties

A lovely mall from outside. It was too full and too hot to enter. I was wonderfully surprised with the special parking they have for senior citizens. Great taking our seniors into consideration.

We eventually found a well-known and well established mall in the Western Cape after we went hunting for a great mall with good anchor shops. A massive Woolworths with literally the same layout as it's counter parts in Sandton. Most of all the shops are bigger and better equipped than the Mall's in Stellenbosch so i would give this a woping 10/10

Nice and Clean Mall. Good Security, lots of Parking Space, right next to the motorway, so it's easy to reach. Very expensive for ZA Standards tho, which means it's affordable for European Standards

The mall was clean and so were the toilets 🚻 I used. Taking the ride from the last entrance back to Entrance 1 saved my life. Wonderful idea. Thank you. A pity the shops have not trained the staff to come to help you search instead of the new way where they stand and chat with work colleagues and you have to search for them if you need help. Some blatantly sit behind the counter and even ignore you yet they want your business and support. What happened to them even greeting you when you enter the store making you feel you need to buy as they made you so welcome. It would help make your shopping a much better experience especially concerning the exorbitant prices of today. The staff are quick to want an increase but some of them are like dummies that are just there to accept your payment after you have found an item you searched for by yourself. Gone are the days the salespeople rushed to greet and serve you! Maybe the shops would make more sales if there was a change in the staff. Glad I experienced the 70's to 90's in my earlier days. Please pass this on to the Store owners it might help. Thank you.

For quiet shopping (excl. pay days) this is the best mall to shop at. There’s a huge variety of shops to choose from. There are coffee shops suitable for a busy day of errands with meetings in-between. I am a very busy person, therefore, I love getting everything in one place. That saves time and it also makes me highly productive.

The mall is clean and staff are friendly. Spent a few days with an advertising stand there. During the time I interacted with a number of security and other staff and all contact was good. The mall has quite struck guidelines for their stands although this also creates a firm guideline which is not a bad thing but is something to take note of. The length of the mall can be quite tiring as it is a long center but the friendly golf cart trips to assist passengers in their journey is great. I think the center management are doing a lot to maintain the standard of the mall. Also witnessed a fire drill during the time which was done in a professional manner. Well done Somerset Mall

The floor tiles at the Rocco mammas entrance to the new Checkers is in a bad state. No warning signs or anything. It's a accident waiting to happen when someone trips and falls due to broken tiles. Nice law suit that will follow.

Specsavers aircon are extremely and uncomfortably cold It's actually unbearable if you have to sit there for half an hour to do an eye test. Please adjust the temperature. It's summer but you have to wear winter clothes there to survive.

State of the art, modern and very big with a good layout. You can get virtually anything you need for a shopping spree. From movies to kiddies, groceries, wears, stationeries, industrial items etc

it was nice to be here. There are alot of options for brands and stores. They also have interesting cafes around. I found my shoes in this mall too. But mall here is not like mall which has many floors. If I'm not wrong they only have one floor. But its totally ok. I love this mall!

Easy access, great underground parking with stacks of space available, generally clean and tidy with decent bathroom facilities. Make sure you know where you want to go if you're not up to walking from one end to the other of a fairly long mall though :)

Vast well lit spaces so you don't feel overwhelmed by other shoppers, every store you could want and need under one roof and plenty of clean bathrooms. Kudos to the centre management. Very well run centre!

Always a pleasant mall. Wide passages, low key sound system and all fashion and food stores under one roof. One need to rack up energy to walk this mall, however it's good exercise. For those who think of the walking , there is a service passenger golf cart to scoot a lift around the mall.

Those who are sensitive to noise, should be aware of the noise levels in this shopping centre. The general acoustics is not good, especially in crowded areas. To make things worse, is the high volume level of the music that is played over the centre's central PA system. We've requested centre management to lower the volume during a recent visit, but were not successful. Overall a frustrating and unenjoyable shopping experience.

This Mall has everything you need, food, beauty and lots of shopping. My family especially enjoys going to the movies there. Parking is safe and you've got parking attendance that really care and lookout for you. I send my teenage kids to late movies with ease because I know they'll be safe.

Clean shopping centre with ample parking as well as underground parking. Multiple entrances and good indication to know where you are going. Clean public restrooms spaced throughout the mall. They also newly renovated some parts.

Somerset Mall is a very popular shopping mall that mostly caters to customers living in the area. It has a fair collection of stores that carry a large variety of items which appeal to a wide range of customers. Prices are moderate.

It is a nice large mall with all the regular brand names. Ample parking. Next to the N2 highway. Close to Stellenbosch, Strand and Somerset West. Largest mall in the area. You should find here whatever you need.

Clean , cool , comfortable and safe. Neat and ease of movement. Bins and sanitation stations evenly spread, all shops have front of store sanitizing. Of the stores I went to, everything was on par in terms of Covid regulations, and the temperature was well regulated, and I felt less need to rush through errands and shopping. I am not the biggest fan of shopping outlets but I felt slightly less stressed than at ease. Being more at ease contributed to my comfortability and I am impressed with the security presence, and how professional they are, it really makes a difference when shopping and feeling that it's safe there. Thank you!

One of the nicest places to do shopping. I call it "head to toes Mall"....because you can get everything from your head to your toes at the wonderful shops in one place. Absolutely a pleasure. What I would recommend is that you put your Aircon on colder temperature....with all the people there, the air needs to be much colder.

This is a sprawling mall with a large variety of shops. Well laid out, disability friendly and with good accessible bathrooms and parking facilities. Woolworths here has the first disabled change room that I have ever encountered. Kudos to you! I hope this is rolled out across SA.

It's a functional mall, has a bit of everything. Good dining options for a quick meal. Nice sized Wollworths. Bathrooms are neat and clean. Ample parking, though always busy.

Just popped in on our return trip from the beach. Quickly visited the Woolworths store for refreshments. It was surprisingly empty. Maybe we were there after the big crowds had already left for a relaxing time at home. It was hot this day.

Used to love shopping here. Now I hate it. Security guards on scooters not there to protect us, just to enforce mask enslavement GESTAPO STYLE. I have plenty of money to spend and will love to spend it elsewhere from now on.

Mall has a strong US American 80’s vibe. Shops are pretty standard too. It’s a good option around Somerset West but wouldn’t go there to just browse and spend time if I don’t have to get anything specific.

One of the Lovely shopping centres just off the N2 Highway - on route to Stellenbosch and Strand - Gordon's Bay. Have patience - you will get a suitable parking near the entrances. Large retailers inside the complex with lovely restaurants and coffee shops

  • 3/5 Marcelle A. 1 year ago on Google
I am not a mall person. I go in for something specific and try use the entrance closest to the shop I need to visit and head out the same way. As malls go this one is OK, plenty of the usual name shops, nice food court, movie theatre, but boy, it's so spread out...one long long mall. Plenty parking with clearly marked bays for mom's and tots, senior folk or those in wheelchairs. Gets very busy on pay day weekends or if the weather is too crummy for the beach.

Mall is looking great. Looks like all the renovations is complete. Excellent stop for everything under one roof. Month gets a bit busy both in the mall and the parking but it's expected. My overall experience was a delight.

  • 3/5 Neriah P. 1 year ago on Google
Good mall except I really don't like how crowded it is with almost zero ventilation. The mall is also very warm inside (nice on Winter days) but horrible on Summer days. Excellent selection of stores though - they have practically everything inside/outside the mall.

Very nice and big mall. Plenty of shops with a big variety of product that you might not find anywhere else. Lovely atmosphere with plenty of very friendly staff in the shops. Recommended place to shop👍

Really great for the kids and family. Lots too do, and they have this great rent a cab for the kids to push them around at 70 bucks. My toddler hates walking around in malls and this was super cute and convenient

Please renovate the toilets and introduce a more regular cleaning roster in the toilet areas on busy days. The temperature in Dischem is always extremely humid in summer to the extend that we can't stay in the shop too long and leave before finishing everything on our shopping list. If we feel so others must also feel that way. Dischem, think of all the business you lose because of poor climate control which I assume is controlled by the mall's management.

Put on your walking shoes! It is huge!! Great selection of shops and I love that fact that even though I am was a visitor, I did not feel lost inside. Great coffee shops, clothing, grocery stores and other specialised stores make it a great mall for a shopping bonanza. Loved their motor fair that they had. Great to see some new models from Nissan, Ford, Hyundai and others while I was there.
