Find another doctor’s office. I have been going here for years and have never really been happy with my care but my latest experience with them has made me write this review. The only reason I am considering staying with Somerville Family Practice is because Rebecca actually listens to her patients and cares that they get the help they need. However, throughout the years i was constantly passed from different doctors, making it impossible to build a relationship or get consistent care. During my most recent experience, I messaged Rebecca asking her advice for a bad sunburn and was immediately told to come in by Nancy. Thinking that I would be able to speak with Rebecca directly and figuring I should listen to the doctor I went in. I met with Dr. Wemple for about five minutes and was given the same advice I could have looked up online. When I left they charged me $300 for my short visit where nothing was done. Nancy was also the one who responded to my inquiry about this bill and was extremely dismissive and rude, saying “sorry, that’s just our fee for our care.” Once again to be clear, there was almost zero care provided. If she cared about patients she would warn them that an urgent visit costs $300, but they just want to charge patients for whatever they can. She then so kindly told me to take it up with my insurance, knowing damn well that insurance companies also do not care about their customers. This is not the first time they’ve overcharged me, either. They tried to charge me for my covid vaccine, which is free to everyone. Their fees are an absolute scam.

Dr. Fishman use to be my doctor. I loved her and she knew me from when I was a toddler. However, she retired and I got stuck with Daniel Wemple. He has no bedside manner, was completely rude and dismissive towards my symptoms. He actually refused to give me a referral. After countless arguing, he finally gave in and handed it to me obviously very upset that I wouldn't take no for answer. He's a young doctor and might have a god complex, which is why he's so rude. After one visit I switched doctors, which was very disheartening because I had grown to know the staff there since my family had been coming here for decades. I don't recommend him to anyone, honestly look for a better doctor and I'm not the only one who feels this way!

This office is the textbook definition of what you want in a Family Practice. I've been a patient here for the last 5 years. The office is always accommodating and provides availability for my inconsistent schedule. There is always available parking and the office has been on schedule each time I've been there. Since Dr. Martins retirement I've been seeing Dr. Dan Wemple as a PCP and could not be happier. He is attentive, personable, and compassionate. He follows up on all questions and any test results promptly and with a clarity that makes me feel comfortable with the care I'm receiving. The owner Nancy and the entire staff make you feel like family and provide a type of care that not all offices offer. They put in the extra effort to help you with insurance explanations, referrals, and any issues I've ever encountered while a patient. The blend of expertise, care, and service I receive at Somerville Family Practice is second to none and I plan to continue bringing my family there for a long time.

I highly recommend Somerville Family Practice to any family. I and my newborn are both patients there. Being a first time parent the support the staff has given me has been spectacular. Anytime I send a message in the patient portal their response time is immediate with either a follow up message or a call back. They are always willing to see me as soon as possible. Their attention to detail and knowledge has given our family a sense of relief as new parents. If you are looking for a family practice that is both professional and warm SFP is for you.

This is the single most exemplary medical experience that hath EVER graced this earth. I needed not even make an appointment as the very second I passed the threshold, all of my ailments were expelled from of my body. The plaques upon the wall, the water bubbler, and wide selection of reading material created such an environment where I believed I had ascended my current position in the universe and achieved nirvana. But that was only surface of an epic journey of healing abrasions and wounds I knew not that I even had. The next step was speaking with the receptionists if that title is even befitting of such excellence. Their diction seemed as though every word was hand selected by the master wordsmiths of old. They exuded a welcoming yet professional aura that is only to be expected of such a holy place of healing. After returning with an appointment I experienced all which this hollowed ground could possibly offer to the mortal realm. I dare not share the details for I feel as though this world is not prepared for such divinity. By the end of this experience I felt as though I would never be the same. I had been reborn and communed with a plane of existence so high that I feel like an amoeba trying recall the complexities of Austrian orchestra. I now know all there is to know, and have experienced all the pleasures and tortures my mind can comprehend. I often lay awake within my chambers pondering whether my soul ever truly left this holy site. All I all it’s a pretty good doctors office.

They're trying to charge me almost $200 for a 2-minute telehealth call that resulted in the PA just telling me to get some Flonase. Insane. My previous physician's office would never dream of charging their patients for something so insignificant.

I have had a great experience as a patient of this practice under Dr. Fishman and into the newer generation with Doctors Wemple & Hercule. My family and I have always been able to get an immediate appointment if we have an urgent issue, and the staff is helpful in booking follow-ups or referrals. Has the feel of a small-town family practice, and is also plugged into a network with Mt. Auburn Hospital and other providers for specialized care.

I cannot express enough gratitude for all of the staff at Somerville Family Practice. While dealing with challenging and serious health issues, Dr Wemple and his staff were able to see me quickly, get me a referral, work with the pharmacy, and get me all documentation I needed within 48 hours of my exam. Exceptional! There are so many people who work in the healthcare industry that may be burned out. Though busy, this was not my experience. They set reasonable expectations all throughout my journey. My experience with the staff was that they were cordial, helpful, and wanted to see me get better as soon as possible. Sometimes, they may be short-staffed but at the end of the day, they get the job done and that is what has mattered most. 100% recommended for PCP.
