👍 Really nice activity to do in Ubud. They pick you up at 2/2:30am. The walk is easy almost for everyone. Just gets a little bit too busy (at least when I went) If you are scared that you are not going to be able to do it, they have some dirtbikes that can help you in case you need it going up or down... People often mention Batur, guide, sunrise, climb, hike, volcano, Mount, trip, climbing, mountain,

A Spectacular Journey: Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking Review I recently embarked on the Mount Batur Sunrise Trekking adventure, and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we began our ascent to the breathtaking summit our guide was very professional and took us through the route in an impressive manner . Our guide was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly personable. He provided insightful commentary along the way, sharing fascinating tidbits about the local flora and fauna, as well as the history and significance of Mount Batur itself. His expertise ensured a safe and enjoyable journey for all participants. As we reached the summit just in time for sunrise, the panoramic view that greeted us was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The vibrant hues of the sky painted a mesmerizing backdrop against the silhouette of neighboring peaks, while the tranquil Lake Batur shimmered below. Thanks to Google Maps, we were able to identify key landmarks and points of interest, enhancing our appreciation of the surrounding beauty. Overall, the combination of reliable navigation and the expertise of our guide made for an unforgettable adventure on Mount Batur. I highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking an exhilarating outdoor excursion.

Main highlight of the trip is to climb Mt Batur standing at 1,717m above sea level. Woke up at 2.45am and reached Start point at 3.30am to begin ascent. Walked 3km of road with gradually slope up ( so steep till the end of this leg I almost want to give up) and then we climbed another 2km up to reach the top. A lot of people were climbing as well. It was difficult because we climbed pitch dark. I just followed on the steps of the guide in front of me. No proper steps and it was challenging because the terrains are made up of loose rocks and sand. Very dry terrain. Mt Batur is a volcano mountain. We went to a hidden spot to witness steams emitting from the rocks. We descended after sunrise. The descent was tougher than climbing up having to deal with the loose rocks and sand again.

Loved our hike, all started at 2:30 am with a prompt pick up from our driver Rafa, who kept us well informed with information about the trip. We had a lovely guide (forgot her name) who looked after us and set a nice steady pace as we had asked her. Got up there in plenty of time for sunrise. The pics don’t do it justice. Great experience all round 😁

Started by being picked up by bus at my hotel in Ubud and driven out to an early breakfast of fried banana and black coffee. Then back to the bus for another hour or so of driving to Mt Batur base camp. Upon leaving the bus we were given headlamps and the trek started up the road, moving at a fair clip. After crossing the overhead sign, and parking lot, the path went sharply upwards, and I found myself climbing over crumbly volcanic rock. My watch logged a total of 600m of elevation when we reached the top just in time to see the sun emerge from behind Mt Agung. The view was truly magnificent to behold and I'll definitely go back to climb volcanoes in Indonesia again. Hopefully next time Mt Agung, which is a longer and much higher trek. This hike definitely required good levels of fitness, and safe to say it doesn't have wheelchair access.

An unbelievable experience waking up at 2am to complete this challenging hike! Walking up steep slopes and rocky terrains to get to the top of this volcanic mountain was a great decision even though it took a toll on our legs. The views from the top are magical to say the least. There are also many short spurs of hot steam coming off the surface

So beautiful and our guides were amazing! You should really do the trekking tour to the top because it is only 1 hour, it is really worth it because with jeep you are on top of the volcano in approx 15mins.. not worth it do the hike instead, with good shoes it is noproblem!

Unfortunately, I didn't see the sunrise, but the stars that can be seen at dawn and the perfect viewpoint for taking pictures are perfect for making memories.

Mount Batur is one of the places in Bali for tracking and climbing. We can start from the sidemen early in the morning at 01:00 am and you will arrive in Batur about 02:00am and you would be start climbing at 3 am. With a private guide completed with preparation such as torch, stick, jackets and a breakfast in the top of mount Batur when you welcome the sunrise. Let's try and enjoy it .❤️❤️

Absolutely stunning! Go with a guide but don’t expect the breakfasts to be fulfilling.

Strenuous climb, but rewarding. 9/10 (because very strenuous for unathletic people. It is about 1700m altitude. Volcanic earth & fine dust that is thrown up by the heavy steps and is inhaled (hence only 4 stars) You start with a guide around 3 a.m. (in the morning) to watch the beautiful sunrise at around 5:40 a.m. You should plan about 2 hours. At the top you get breakfast, which gives you energy. Everything together, directions to Mount Batur, a guide to help with the climb and an energized breakfast. Approximately 30-40€

Absolutely stunning trip to the top of the volcano Batur! We bought a trip a few days beforehand and everything worked out great. A driver picked us up from our hotel in Ubud about 2.30am, from which we drove about 1 ½hrs to the mountain in the pitch black. There we met our guide Nyoman (she was great!) who gave us each walking sticks, flashlights and a bottle of water. We used the toilet and up we went. There are many different routes up. The trek up to the top took us about 1½- 2 hours. We took short breaks, some parts of the climb up were a little hard but got easier higher up. Quite a sweaty climb but it was cold and windy at the top. So a sweater is a good idea! There were many tourists there but we were fast on the climb and got good spots to wait for the sunrise. While waiting, we got tea, coffee or hot chockolate, some banana bread and oranges and an egg. The sunrise was amazing! After the sun was up, we climbed to the very top and looked at the steam and took some pictures. The climb down was easier and faster, allthough a lot of people did slip on the way down, myself included. The driver then got us back at the hotel about 8am. The whole trip was about 45€/person. Note: locals do offer to take you up with a motorcycle (it was somewhat disruptive to hear the motors against the calming silence in the middle of the night). There is no toilet in the mountain so do your thing before you go! There are kiosks that sell refreshments while you climb up, a very touristy thing but I understand the locals are just trying to make money. Please turn your flashlight off, when you're taking a break or watching the sunrise and don't blind other climbers with the light!

We would highly recommend booking Wayan's trek! He is a local guide with so much information about the area and speeks very good english. He greeted us with water and bamboo sticks to hike with at 3.30 am and we walked through the farms before the incline began. He made sure we chose different paths to the jeeps and motorbikes so it remained quiet. The hike was tough but brilliant and we made it to the top in 1hr 15 with a couple of breaks to catch our breath. Wayan chose a great spot for us at the top of the mountain and made us coffee and breakfast. Although it was cloudy and the sunrise wasn't clear it was so beautiful and atmospheric! There is steam coming out of various parts of the volcano and Wayan took some great pics of us at the top and we made it back down just in time for the storm to hit. This was my favourite part of our trip, Suksma!

The hike up was quite exhausting because of the fine dust of the volcano as it made breathing harder, but in the end, the view of it was worth seeing. It is even prettier in person than in the pictures!

This hike is not for the weak: 700m up and down, rough terrain, equivalent to 85 flights of stairs, and you’ll be very susceptible to slipping. However… Suarez made this journey even more unforgettable than the view. We did the long journey around to the western rim, and it took us from about 4am to 9am. He was extremely kind, and patient, and can take an INCREDIBLE photo. 10/10 would recommend trekking with him. This is true mountain climbing, so if you want to feel safe, secure, and well looked after, he’s your guide. Suksma, Suarez! 🙏🏼

👍 These hot springs have the perfect temperature! Very calm and relaxing place too. You can either just bathe for 50k per person, or take a package including a towel and juice for 100k. There are two basic squatting toilets and two dressing rooms. There was only one local family when we got here, and...
