It was fantastic! The room, the monastery building, the courtyard, the silence and the staff! It was a unique experience to hear the church organ in the bed one morning! It was a pleasure to walk down the hallways and see the memories of the past . And the restaurant !! We loved the food, the fine wines, the courteous service, the luxury we need :) Thank you !!!

It is a nightmare to get there by car, but worth every hellish moments of it. The restaurant serves real gourmet meal. Careful...kitchen is open only between 6pm and 9.30pm. For weekdays lunch you need to call in and they accomodate your request. The hotel itself is a remodelled monastery... it is tranquil...different and great. But even just for the food... you should not miss it!

Best hotel and best food I found in Hungary. Absolutely excellent in every aspect (minus the receptionist who was kinda reserved). I am amazed, especially the dinner was from another world

Former cloister transformed into a four star hotel, retaining pretty well its original atmosphere and architectural values. Beautiful interior design, scenic surroundings and a peaceful inner garden. The excellent food and the politeness of the staff is really just an add-on to this unique place.

Amazing experience! Spending a night in the monastery was an experience I will remember for a while. Be careful as the bathroom is not perfect. So is the Wi-Fi coverage as monasteries were probably not built for the radio waves to pass freely. But I enjoyed it regardless and so will anyone else I guess...

It's a fact, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to, very peaceful and quiet. However the cells/rooms are overcrowded, even up to some of the furintures are unusable, there is only one fridge for common use, in the common area, but most of the time it closed. Same goes for the tv set, except it cannot be watched discretely. The bathroom 'blocks'... well, you have to be in a very intimate relationship w/ the person you are sharing the room with, but even then, once someone took a shower, it becomes so wet all over the place, you cannot really use it for hours for anything else. It was supposed to be an 'adult-friendly' hotel, but we had 2 very small and very loud children onsite at that time, who would keep not only their families, but everybody else awake night and day. I have to tell you, I'm very confused... about the concept and all. On the other hand, the restaurant is stunningly beautiful, dishes are exceptional, and the staff's flexibility on gluten- and lactose free special requests saved the day couple of times. Final verdikt: it might be perfect for getaways and retreats, but only if you can have the room for yourseld, or even the whole place dedicated to the event.

Lovely food in the refectory. Rooms very comfortable but no aircon. No bar, but it is still a working monastery, I suppose...as I discovered when I heard 10 o'clock Mass being held in the Chapel. Friendly staff.

The management of the hotel handled our group’s requests professionally, with flexibility and the service was excellent. The tranquil location was why we went so the excellent food and nearby hiking trails were a bonus! Don’t forget to explore historic Sopron, excellent restaurants and cafe choices for anyone.

A very quiet and tranquil place. The food was excellent! Also the staff - very friendly and helpful. The rooms are tidy with tasty furniture, quite sober, without knick-knacks. I did like out stay a lot!

Such a stunning building and hotel. We attended a wedding that was held there. The rooms were so beautiful and the beds very comfortable. It was such a pleasant experience. The service was incredibly friendly and the food was amazing.

Simple luxury. Spacious room without the distraction of the TV. Dinning here is an intimate affair, you can taste the chef's intentions. Great stop over point between Salzburg and Budapest in the winter.
