The Quality Inn in south bend located closest to that airport should removed the word "quality" from their name. Because there's NO quality in that hospitality business...None, Zero!! The hostess worked night shift on the 21 August was rude and ignorantly and crazy. Work NO Social skillset!! I checked in after midnight on the 22 August. It was just me with my backpack, my carry out dinner and a bottle of water. She acted surprised that I have a reservation. At first, she said there were no reservation and my name is not there. I gave her the confirmation number and she reluctantly admitted that I have one. When I gave her my Driver License id upon request, she left the reception desk and I heard her talking to someone on her cell phone. Then, she returned my ID back to me. She gave me a room on the first floor. The first floor are mainly used for customers with pets. The room stentch so bad; it's like a wet dog, cigarettes, smoke, dirty carpet and other unknown bad smell altogether. So, I came back to the front desk to asked for another room. As I re-entered the lobby, there was a policeman coming in towards the desk too. His SUV blovking the entrance. Odd right? I motioned for him to go first, I'll wait, because I'm thinking it is an emergency for him to come in so suddenly. That cop asked her a question and she looked my way quickly and said everything is ok. He left. I didn't think anything about it until I was inside the newly assigned room and I realized that she called the cop on me!!!! The room she assigned to me also had an unidentifiable horrible smell to it. Plus, the capet was dirty, sofa has stains on it and so on. I put on a mask and I still can smell that stench. So I went back to front desk and mentioned the very bad smell in that room. She appears to called a person to say that the room was cleaned. I told her that I am checking out because of the horrible smell in the room and the hortible customer service she displayed and calling the police on me because my husband booked the room for me and he wasn't with me. So she assumed that I stole someone's card. Instead of verifying the information she saw on that reservation in a professional manner, she appointed herself as the judge, the jury, the prosecutor and called the police on me. I confront her on why she called the police on me. She said" Whar are you talking about? I said Did I look like a threat to you that you feel the need to call on me? And she said "Whatever" as she flung the check-out receipt at me. I was so angry but the respect for myself kepr me from imitating her bad, poor Quality Inn attitute. I called the hotel Customer Service and placed a complaint about what had happen. I have not received a callback, text nor a voice message ftom that company since August 22, 2022. This was a HORRIBLE experience with NoQuality Inn Hotel. Ive Never had this happen to me and I've been traveling around the USA and the world since 2010.

Like most reviews I agree that the hotel is a little dated, but that's fairly reflected in the price so I don't have an issue with it. My room was clean upon arrival. Check in was easy, nothing fancy. Quick and close to the airport. There are several hotels in the area, this is a good choice for the budget. Free breakfast is a bonus. I would consider staying here. Paid about $95 after taxes and fees.

This place needs to look up the word quality. TVs had issues, the toilet seat was loose and there was a ring in the bowl. The printer at the check in counter printed my bill with multiple shadows of the copy in the background. The clerk said that they need to get it serviced. The room rate was four times the normal, which can be expected for an ND Football weekend. These guys had the nerve to charge $10 per person for a shuttle ride. Never again if this place can be avoided.

I WOULD NEVER STAY AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN!! The room wasn't bad for the price, but they have a thief working in their housekeeping. We never left the room only to go to the pool and my son left his beats headphones on the bed and when we came back to the room they was gone. Only housekeeping could get in our room. We addressed it to the manager and they said no one turned any in and there is nothing they can do about it. I called corporate and they pretty much didn't care either just gave me some points on my account (because I'm a reward member) and said take it up with the location manager. If you can stay somewhere else please do, because I wouldn't waist my money on a hotel who manager doesn't care about his staff stealing from the guest rooms and a corporate that doesn't care about a hotel under their establishment that will steal items from their guest. Also this is not the 1st review about items being taken from the guest rooms. In another review a guest iPhone 13 was taken by staff at this location. I wish I would have read that review before I booked this reservation because I would have never stayed if I knew my belongings wouldn't be safe in my own room.

Great place to stay while driving thru the area. Not top of the line of course but for the price it wasn't bad. Friendly staff. Hot breakfast.

The people across the hall had a party. Then a fight that spilled out into the hallway, waking up everyone on that floor. As a person who drives for a living, I pay a little more for a room to avoid this kind of thing. I don't think I'll be staying at quality inn Anymore. Hilton, here I come.

We had a flight canceled and had to find lodging and they were super accommodating! Isabella was Amazing!!! Running the desk and shuttle, she never showed any signs of stress, half the plane showed up and she was smiling and cheerful the entire time! That girl definitely needs a raise!! She made the hectic and stressful situation not so stressful

Location was good, the front desk staff was great at check in and out as well as in all passings. The rooms are DATED, imagine any room in late 90s early 2000s. That’s it. AC didn’t work too well and it was noisy. A baseball team was staying there and from 2-5 AM it was absurd.

The staff stole my iPhone 13. They were negligent to assist while I watched it walk all over the building two days after I inquired about my phone getting stolen. I walked out of the building to go to the car to load things up, when I came back in my key was locked out and staff notified me they checked the room and thought I was gone but no phone was inside. Now I’m watching it go all over the building…. There’s only an elevator and a pool that isn’t open…. Who else is walking all over? The place has BED BUGS, the customer service is terrible, they are not patient or kind with people entering in and are not accommodating. The family is trying to run it instead of getting others to handle the customer aspect while they need to handle and manage the operations aspects like curb appeal, upgrades and maintenance of the actual rooms, etc. Sucks because we stay with quality often on our travels, will never do this again, at least not this location.

I stayed at this hotel August 4-6, 2023 to attend a funeral. My hotel suite room was clean, but the sheets and pillowcases were torn and had holes in it. My television in the living room area of my suite would not turn on (not working). I contacted the front desk and was told someone was going to come and look at it around 8:00 pm that Saturday, but no one showed up. They seriously need to replace their linens (possibly their towels, too) and install ice machines on each floor of this hotel. I was considering staying at the Candlewood Suites and wished I did now. I will not stay at this location any longer. They're giving Choice Hotels a bad name.

My insurance booked us a room due to our furnace going out in a snow storm. When I arrived the lady that told me her name was Betty was being very rude to two other guests that were before me in line. When I approached the counter, I told her I have a reservation, but couldn’t even give her the reservation number before she screamed at me no you don’t. I was taken aback and tried to explain to her and show her the email from my company that I do in fact have a reservation. After this she refused to check me in and then stated my company would need to call her to book a room. So while I was on the phone with my company I asked Betty for the number to call her. She stated you know I need to call my boss because I don’t think I want to book you guys in. She then came back and stated that she could not take payment over the phone per her boss. My insurance people were very confused because they have a contract with this hotel. Long story short my house will not be ready and I’m currently in my car in the snow looking for a place to stay. I will never do business here again, and neither will my insurance.

One of my family members booked a room here for his sons birthday. He planned to let kids swim and do food and presents in the room. He told the clerk when he booked over the phone that it was for this specific reason. When he went to check in they told us we needed to pay $10 per child that was attending and would be swimming. Never in my life have I had a hotel charge for kids to swim. We voiced our dissatisfaction and were met with no empathy or leeway from the front desk. The pool was absolutely disgusting and cloudy. The front desk wouldn't give us more than 1 pool towel per kid and even went as far as telling us to just use the room towels. How would they dry off from a shower if they used to room towels and wouldn't give any extra? I would highly recommend never going to this location. I would rather sleep in my car on the side of the highway. The sheets were stained and the headboards were oily. They also own the hotel in front which is a sleep inn. Probably wouldn't stay there either. Also, after paying cash for kids to swim, they charged the room credit card for the kids. So they obviously don't know what they're doing and have horrible customer service.

We booked two rooms for three nights each, but checked out early after the first night because of numerous bug bites. One room also had dirty sheets. The manager was hostile when I reported the problems and asked for a refund on the unused nights. No refund was ever given. The free breakfast buffet was terrible - overcooked eggs, day old sausages. There was scum floating all over the pool. Strangely the wall-mounted headboards and tv backboards were all crooked (cosmetic, but still a sign of neglect). Choice Hotels is offering some "points" for a future booking but they barely amount to a single room/night instead of the four we lost.

Would not recommend this hotel!! Location was great for where I needed to be. Very over priced considering there are so many issues with the rooms. Air conditioner did not work well at all. The water pressure in the shower was basically nothing. The staff is extremely rude and didn’t really seem to know what they are talking about. The lady in the morning could care less about complaints or anything at all. She was on her phone and did not want to be bothered. The pool was gross and cloudy. They have breakfast. However the muffins tasted old, went to make waffles and was told there wasn’t any more batter… as the staff member was making herself waffles. And there was a dog barking all night! Such a waste of money I should have just slept in my car. DO NOT GO HERE. Pretty sure they own the one in front sleep inn can’t imagine that one would be any better!

Currently staying here do to unforseen issues this place has a OPEN pool Wich seems hard to find, a weight and fitness room, bolth are open according to theyr posted times and well maintained, hall carpets and such are a little beat but they do clean continuously as needed. Front desk is polite and helpful. My issue lies in my room. Lightly stained bed covers, my heat/air after a short run on heat starts making noise and blowing Cold air instead, the toilet is backed up so every use I have to ask for a plunger. Other then that the amenities and treatment are fairly good for a Quality inn. I have 3 more days in my stay and will update with news on breakfast and other amenities as I go!

Pool still broak dirty rooms , it's becoming the normal with the private owned quality inns. I do a lot of traveling and the comfort inns and quality inns are becoming nasty hotels. The people buying these properties are scrimping on amenities and are not repairing or thoroughly cleaning the rooms . Breakfasts have become gross also.

I don't recommend this place at all! Even though the rooms were clean and the breakfast offered was good. The pool was closed for renovations, guest laundry didn't work. It was offered for me to use the guest laundry at their other property. However, the staff at the other property was not happy about that. They were rude and we found out the hard way it didn't work. Our clothes never dried. The absolute worst part, is the guest pin pad was BEHIND the desk. The desk clerk took my card, and then to my dismay signed the pin pad on my behalf. When I said something it didn't phase him at all. When I insisted and pressed for both a receipt showing proof of payment for the room and the $20 pet fee ( very reasonable no problem with that at all ) The desk clerk, stated "I will just charge your card and you can get a receipt in the morning". When I said this was unacceptable and I was uncomfortable with that and I wanted one now. He repeated the same thing. Tired from my drive, I nervously just walked away. When, I came back in from unloading my car, the desk clerk had the receipt for the pet fee charge. When I went to the desk in the am for a late check out they happily allowed us to check out at 12. When I went to check out and provide my Choice Privilege number I was told to call Choice they could not do it. When I asked for a receipt of check out. I noticed none of my information was listed on the reservation. My name was wrong, no address information just a generic N/A and South Bend In as my address. This alerted me, I was informed they couldn't change it, and I had to call Choice. The desk clerk had taken my ID and Card the night before and was typing things into the system with them. But no information was in there. This alerted me majorly. When I phoned Choice they didn't seem to be alerted either. This was a MAJOR issue for me. Choice and this property dropped the ball, by encouraging their desk staff to illegally sign my signature into the pin pad. The guest pin pads are for the guests to use to sign their own name! I filed a formal complaint with Choice the same day I checked out 12/28 and I have yet to hear back from the property. I am watching my card closely.

An excellent hotel, and value, for the price. Clean rooms, good free breakfast, and friendly, professional service from both the hotel staff and owners. Would certainly stay again!

My stay was good however if I can figure out how to post a picture of the breakfast, you’d be highly disappointed as I was. The eggs for the 2 days I stayed were so hard, overcooked and not for human consumption. Definitely should be more mindful when feeding guest. I’m sure they wouldn’t eat that mess either. They were better off now serving hot food if they were going to serve junk.

I know this is a 2 star hotel, but it definitely wasn’t “quality.” Everything was outdated, pool closed, the breakfast was terrible, and the entire place smelled like a foot. Every hotel has some sketchy people, but this hotel seemed to attract it. I gave it 2 stars because I managed to survive my stay there. There are other 2 star hotels nearby doing it better.

Terrible option! Staff was ok initially, but once we checked in and got to our room, it was downhill from there. Room was filled with smoke smell, neighbors we super loud (yelling/swearing/puking/thumping around). We told the staff our concerns and they offered us a can of febreeze. We tried to make it work one more time, but there was no way we were going to get any sleep. We chose to check out and leave. I asked for a refund and they indicated they could not do one without the manager's approval, so I was encouraged to call back Monday. Funny thing is the whole time we were trying to get our concerns addressed, she kept referring herself as the manager until it was time for a refund. I’ve been calling all day asking for the manager and keep getting told she’s not in and will be in at a certain time. By the time we were leaving the police were there. Never. Again.

Nice hotel, nice staff. Bed was ok. Shower was great. We could hear a lot of noise from water running thru pipes, plus our room was right next to the hotel laundry. It was a little loud in the morning. There was some loud music in the parking lot after 11pm, however this hotel has 24 hour security and they were called to come. We would stay here again if in the area.

Didn't even get to stay, because we are truckers, we got in late last night after a major break down been in b the heat all day just want a shower and bed for the night which company was going to reimburse us for. I called reserved a room tried to get a shuttle tried to ask about other things and the guy hung up on me 4 times I get you have bad days. But the type of service I had tonight canceled the reservation after the bad experience and I will never use this hotel chain again

It’s a 2 star hotel so you get what you’re paying for. Bathroom was clean and looked like the counter had recently been replaced. Carpeting looked pretty old and small couch in room was worn and dirty. Bed was fine comfort wise, sheets were clean. We heard from someone else staying here at the same time that they found bed bugs near the headboard. Staff were very helpful and remade the bed and sprayed the headboard. We checked many times in our room but did not see any bedbugs. Overall it was fine.

I am not sure why the negative reviews so I am posting on my own experience. This establishment was cleaner than some I’ve stayed in. We stayed here to attend a ND game. It was just a15 minute drive to the Campus/Stadium. Very acceptable for me. I would stay here again. Beds were okay but some place to sleep as we spent most of our time on campus. I would recommend this place to anyone

Very clean and quiet with a great selection of hot breakfast items that are complimentary with stay. Pool was open too so that was cool. Front desk staff was also friendly and attentive to me while checking in.

Horrible place…don’t ever stay there with or without your family…they definitely have bed bugs…they had to move our room because my niece got bit in the face multiple times, they have roaches, their customer service is horrible and make sure you check your bank statements because I was charged multiple times for one a one night stay. Then it took for me to basically harass them to get my money refunded. I wouldn’t recommend this place to a dog

Will not stay here ever again! Rooms smelled, burnholes in comforter and sheets did not look clean. Staff was very rude. We were literally making our plate for breakfast when the lady started putting food away including the silverware. Everything is outdated. No pop in the pop machine. When booking the room it showed us pictures of one that had a jacuzzi tub. When we got there they said we had gotten a handicap accessible room. Also, the smoke detector has a bag on it for some reason. DO NOT STAY HERE! PAY THE EXTRA 20 BUCKS TO GO SOMEWHERE THAT HAS QUALITY OR AT LEAST CLEANLINESS OR A NICER STAFF. We would have rather sleep in our car. Also air conditioner did not work.
