    It's outside of the business strip here but it's worth the short drive out. Grab a table by the road and enjoy the beautiful view of the sunset if you come during the evening. The portion is huge and the food is good. No wonder it's a popular among the locals and tables fill up fast. We had the sticky beef ribs which was tender with a good smoky sweet glaze, and ocean and reef which has a fresh piece of fish and some prawns. The only unfortunate thing was it's out of stock on a few things like mussels and pizzas.

    Open Sunday evening. We discovered the Cafe by chance. Had a monster sized steak topped with garlic prawns. Fast friendly service.

    It is more expensive than your average fish and chips but fish, prawns and squid were really fresh and chips and salad good as well. The serves are large so if not hungry, I recommend sharing the seafood platter and salad. Iced coffee had cream and icecream and was huge! We chose battered and was a little oily otherwise would go 5 stars for food. Service a little slow but this is not a takeaway shop. All staff were friendly.

    Enjoyed our lunch at Mar E Sol Cafe Bistro. The Seafood Papadelle was a bit rich for the hubby, but the squid and prawns were nice and tender. My grilled Red Spot was flaky and well seasoned. The $12 kids meals are good value, reasonably sized with a juice box included. The coffee was a bit acidic for me, but the hubby enjoyed his latte. Plenty of seating, and high chairs available for the littlies. Service was a little slow, but friendly. Overall, would recommend a visit.

    We had a fantastic lunch. The Cheese Burger was great, the Seafood Basket was full of local catch, and the House Fried Chicken was possibly the biggest pieces of fried chicken we’ve seen in ages (no bones, amazing crust). And can I just say the Berry Go Round smoothie was both enormous and refreshing. The staff were great, the place was clean and cool (we ate inside), and it’s definitely somewhere we’d eat again when we’re back in the region.

    Great location to enjoy the sunset and local seafood. A recent business trying to do better in Carnarvon. So much potential with a liquor license. More a care than a restaurant. Seafood basket was yummy, squid was incredible. A must eat if u are staying a couple of nights in Carnarvon. BYO own beer or wine. Very friendly staff.

    The food was great and came in a really big portion, I was surprised by the portion of the meal and it is reasonably priced! It is highly recommended to have a meal here if you are visiting Carnarvon or going to the north!

    Absolutely delicious, been several times, tried a different dish everytime. Fresh, delicious, best Salt n Pepper Squid I've ever tried. The cakes are all made in house and fresh. The coffee is divine. Beautiful spot down by the sea. Picture of last night's dinner

    Best cafe overall from the four I tried. Excellent coffee, great food and friendly. Lovely location and dog friendly. Bizarre though how they regularly mucked up orders. Three times a lady brought food to the wrong tables. Is it so hard to remember two numbers? Work out a system guys.

    It was a bit of a wait for our food, but it so worth it. Hands down one of the best places in carnarvon to eat. The food was wonderful, the service was very pleasant and accommodating of all our changes.

    I have been to mare sol for breakfast, lunch and dinner previously and it never disappoints. Fresh and well made food always served with pride and in huge portions. Always love supporting small family business. Would recommend a visit if you’re in Carnarvon.

    Stopped by for a lunch and had the seafood basket as a main and bruschetta for starter. Squid was particularly tasty and overall a good meal.

    It’s bright, it’s breezy, it has water views, staff are really friendly and it has really nice fish & chips. We decided to have lunch here, as there are limited choices around town, where you can enjoy lunch over looking the water. We weren’t disappointed, the service was very good, the staff were really friendly and our grilled local fish was delicious.
