Sunday seems to be popular and busy day. Reception was very receptive and made space for us immediately. Ordering process was simple. Food was good. Service was a bit slow probably it was busy. Outdoor tables were not clean.

Met with friends I hadn't seen for a few months and we decided to visit Cherry Tree Farm. Had a lovely meal, the vegan root vegetable pie. Only issue was I waited a while for it as it had been put aside on the carvery counter but I wasn't told I had to collect it from there. Fraser, one of the waiters sorted it and got me extra parsnips and sprouts from the carvery. Big thanks to him and another waitress ( didn't get her name) for their great customer service. Would have liked more choice for vegan desserts but the chocolate and coconut torte was delicious. Lovely place with a great atmosphere. Would definitely go there again when I'm in the area.

Came in as a group of four for some dinner whilst staying in the Ibis hotel over the road. We had starters which included chicken tenders, halloumi and garlic mushrooms. For the mains, three of us had the Fish Shop Supper and one had beef & ale pie. The fish supper was absolutely brilliant! Really large portion and loads of variety too. The scampi was brilliant, although I randomly was given two breaded mushrooms mixed in with my scampi? Lucky I wasn’t allergic! Overall the food was really good and great value too. Only reason for not giving it five stars was just because our waitress was quite sassy and it felt like a bit of a chore for her when we had to ask for cutlery and sauces etc, and it was quite noticeable that she wasn’t really in the mood to be helping us. On the flip side, the lovely manageress (with red hair) was a joy to speak to, and she sent us on our way at the end of the evening in high spirits! Would come again if we’re passing through for sure!

Had steak and ale pie with chips and gravy. It was beyond amazing. The pie was shortcrust pie base all round and top. Really big pie 🥧 My partner had curry chicken skewer and it was again great quality and quantity. 25 for both meals and 2 drinks on a sat afternoon. Didnt need to book. Plenty of space. And the deserts that we took home for takeaway were great. Well recommended

Staff we're super friendly and helpful. Carried my drinks to the table for me because I couldn't carry them all in one trip. The carvery staff do an amazing job. It's so hot while they're carving the meat but they always manage to be polite and friendly. The food is always fantastic. Every time. Keep up the great work guys 😁

Me and my mum are becoming regulars here! We absolutely love it - we’ve been so many times and never had a bad experience, food is always so so lovely and it’s such good value for money. Best pub food in the area BY FAR! (Halloumi fries are my fave!) Couldn’t recommend more :)

Every farmhouse inn is just a copy and paste. A great system that works. The food variety slightly differs, this one has cheesy mash and broccoli and different style Yorkshire's. So tasty. Perfect on Sunday evening with a pint of moretti

Just got back from a lovely carvery at the Cherry Tree, food was delicious we couldn't get over the choice of veg!! The staff were lovely and the play area was great for keeping our 3 year old happy between courses. We went for 12pm in order to avoid nap time and that was a good call as it was heaving when we left. Will definitely go back!

Went out for food asked for my steak medium it was half well done and half medium so it wasn't the best for my liking the carvery was good for value only issue was the bacon wasn't cooked properly on the sausages just didn't look quiet right burger and chips was good nothing bad to say about that it was yummy :)

Lovely family meal, relatively quiet, but staff were busy being attentive to all customers. Nicely visible. Their onion gravy is lush! Aimee in particular was lovely, had the perfect manner, promptly cleared plates and asked several time if we enjoyed the meal and made light conversation. We visit every few months and best service yet. Carvery was fully stocked too. But it was Aimee who made us feel welcome, Manager in red dress was also very good at her job, keeping things running smoothly.

Last Sunday my wife and I called for Sunday dinner and we’re quite disappointed with the lack of mashed potato and the beef was very fatty,my wife left all her beef as she couldn’t even cut it! We are normally very pleased with the food there,maybe it was a one off but when you queue for 1 1/2 hours for food,then it is not up to normal standard,it is very bad. Hopefully when/if we call again it will be up to its normal high standard

If your coming for a great carvery meal , you've picked one of the best in derby!!!! Not only are the staff welcoming and friendly, they know the job they are doing and do it 100% The food is always epic and delicious 😋 Never been here and come away unsatisfied Just make sure you book a table as it's extremely popular and to avoid disappointment I'd call ahead and check availability! If its your first time? Your in for a treat so enjoy!

I do not recommend the vegetarian alternative for the carvery. The pies are either filled with potatoes or vegetables which are on the carvery anyway, meaning you get a large amount of pastry as an alternative to the meat! A quorn sausage/roast or nut/mushroom cutlet would have been nice. It would be better to just have the carvery without the meat unless you are a big fan of pastry. Cherry Tree is popular and very busy on Sundays. Staff are great and hard working.

Play area is great also very clean. We mostly had carvery and I wouldn't recommend it. We waited for ages and had to eventually ask someone to get the chef. The food had all been left under heat lamps and was dry and hard. They ran out of things so we had to move lids to see what food was there or go without. The poor chef was serving and restocking food at the same time so the queue moved slowly and our party ate at different times. Waste of £67. The queue for the bar was 10+ long too. Seem understaffed or poorly managed.

Typical edge of town place. Great for families and kids. Good value food that's well served and wife really loved the carvery. Friendy helpful staff. Chef Ramsey ain't but two meals and two drinks for £25 is what its about. Job well done. Oh! Did I say the Abbot ale was really good?

This was the first of the Farmhouse Inns we visited a few years ago and we still have not found better. Mainly go for the carvery which always has a larger than average selection of vegetables. Don’t really use the takeaway but have brought home food that was too much to finish at the time. Breakfasts are also very good, both set breakfasts and buffet breakfasts when you can eat as much as you want.

Hadn't been here for over a year due to illness. It was lovely to go for a meal, the carvery was delicious, freshly cooked and served by friendly staff. Monday lunchtime was ideal, as Sundays in particular can be very, very busy. Good value for money.

Fantastic pub with breakfast carvery from 8 till 11. Then a brilliant Sunday roast style carvery from 12, plenty of choice. Also have a full menu if a roast isn't what you want. Fair prices, small play area for kids, slushes and desert selection. Highly recommended. Oh and for this weather a nice seating area outside. Something to suit all :)

A good selection of vegetables available with the carvery, nice atmosphere and helpful staff, can get a little busy around lunchtime so booking is essential especially at the weekends.

Very good value for money! It's a clean place with excellent service. Absolutely love this place! The only thing that I would add is some boiled/ steamed potatoes without mint. My 10 year old prefers something simpler and she doesn't like roasted potatoes. Just love it!!!!
