Tried the Food at Oudh, 1590 on 03 Jan 2022 located at Kalindi which is supposedly famous for its nonveg cuisine & decor. The restaurant indeed had a majestic grandeur & had a royal touch. However, the much hyped food didn't impress me at all & it wasn't what I was expecting it to be. We had packed the stuff from here, owing to the COVID-19 restrictions imposed in Kolkata from 03 Jan onwards. A brief description of the food that we ordered :- - Mutton Awadhi Biryani : The mutton was very chewy & not tender at all. It didn't taste fresh as well. The dish was medium spicy. The Biryani has a boiled egg too. The biryani caters for two people. Biryani had two pieces of Mutton. Flavour wasn't upto the mark. I especially didn't like the quality of Mutton used. Not worth it. They also give Raita & onion salad alongwith this. - Chicken Awadhi Biryani : Flavour was nice, however, chicken peices were again not tender. Served with Raita & Onion salad. Not upto the mark. They need to pull up on this as well. - Chicken Chaap : Two decent sized Chicken peices in this dish, prepared in a creamy gravy. Flavour is just about average. I found the gravy to be immensely thick. Chicken was not cooked adequately. I liked the packaging though. They had given adequate impetus in ensuring that food that is being packed, reaches the customer in a manner they want it to be served in a restaurant. Overall, I was disappointed with the flavours & inadequately cooked nonveg peices being amalgamated in Biryani & Chaap. The restaurant really needs to pull up their flavours & ensure that dishes are cooked in the authentic manner. Hope the review helps. Regards

A super Moghal gharana themed Moghlai and North Indian restaurant. They always plays sufi and classiical music in background. Ambience is quite royal and food is just another level. We had Reshmi kabab and chicken tikka kabab both serves with laccha peyaj. They give one dahi rayta one coriander rayta and mix achar in every table as complementary (no charge) . We also had mutton ran biriyani with mutton roganjosh. Both were different from any other restaurant and so good also. Lastly we had amm panna with rose drink ( forget actual name) both drinks were not good. So please do visit.

Any occasion is incomplete without biryani. Had ordered biryani from here on bhai phota. We had ordered: • Murgh Metiabruz Biryani: This consists of 2 eggs and 2 perfectly cooked chicken. The biryani was flavorful and aroma is enough to leave you craving for more! • Awadhi Handi Biryani: This consists of 2 egg pieces and 2 succulent, perfectly cooked mutton pieces. Again, the rice was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The quantity was enough for two people. And I absolutely loved the raita they had sent with the biryani; it was definitely an added bonus. The packaging was very appealing and properly done. It's been a while since I reviewed this place. I visited the Kalindi outlet of Oudh 1590, last year September when the lockdown just got over. The ambience was majestic and had a Royal touch which suited the atmosphere. Seating arrangements were perfectly maintained. The most important thing which I liked about this place is maintaining the Covid protocols. From sanitising to distance management, they are maintaining adequate measures. Even they have separate paper plates and all crockeries in a plastic bag for each person dining. After finishing off the meal, all leftovers and the used plates are put into the bag. Coming to the items I ordered- Chicken Awadhi Biryani Chicken Chap The food was very simple with fantastic flavors. The biryani was also accompanied with raita and cut onions. Overall it was a nice experience visiting here. I would recommend all biryani lovers to visit this place once.

It was a pleasant experience having a dine out in Oudh Kalindi. Quality of food and services both are good. Staffs are well behaved and very courtesious. May be we have to wait for 10 to 15 minutes on weekends or in any special occasions depending on the number of persons we are going with. Lastly I would say I missed the 'alu' of biryani a lot.

Too disappointing! Ordered the other day on my birthday. Told my mom not to cook that day. 2 different preperations of biriyani were ordered. Not a single pinch of salt! How could there be no salt at all in biriyani, I don't know! Plus the unnecessary oil all over the plate. When I called and complained, they just refused take any liability and told that no customer present there at that time was complaining. So, they have nothing to do. As if I was lying. Literally we were empty stomach till afternoon with some of my guests. Such a hospitality and management!

Oudh is basically famous for its ambience and food quality definitely. Ambience is awesome which attracts people, food is tasty.Though oudh biryani is not very spicy, it quite dry type.

A solid 4.5 experience. Dine - in (5/5) take away (4/5). This place has a vibe to it that takes you to the early Mughal empire of India with the ambience and lighting. Reasonable price rates. Very good menu layout. Helpful and polite wait staff. 100 percent for visitors looking for authentic and rich Indian food. Do visit Oudh.

Always have a special corner in my heart for Oudh 1590. They are the best awadhi restaurant in town which serves authentic dishes. What we ordered:- 1) Aam khas 2) Paneer sugandhi kebab 3) Sahi dahi kebab 4) Subz kofta kalia 5) Veg biryani All the items are 100% recommended. These veg items tasted so delicious and heavenly! A bill of ₹1300 was what we paid. The food is worth every penny! The ambience was something else. The music, the vibe were all Mughal style! So eye catchy! A must visit place if you’re in town! Do visit any outlet of Oudh 1590, it would never disappoint you, my fellow foodies.

Visited this outlet recently. Had galauti kabab with amritsari paratha. And had mutton awadhi handi biryani. The taste was pretty satisfactory. I liked all the items. Also the ambience was pretty attractive. Overall a nice experience. The only downside is that even if you can manage a parking space for 2 wheeler but you may have real difficulty if travelled by car. They don't have a proper parking space.

This is one of the best awadhi restaurant chain in Kolkata.. best is galouti kebab and lucknowi parantha,chicken handi biriyani , mutton Rogan Josh and mutton raan biriyani.. ambience is different from other restaurants, nawabi period dining experience and always Lucknowi gharana song is played in the restaurant.. perfect family restaurant..

Was the first time visiting this particular outlet of Oudh. And like all other outlets, it did not disappoint. The royal ambience, the classical sufi music in the background and the good behaviour of the staff. The food was beautifully prepared. We ordered the Ghosht Awadhi Handi Biriyani, which was light, full of biriyani flavour and the mutton was so delicate. We also had Murgh Metiabruz Biriyani, which was good but not to the levels of the mutton. We ended the evening with a must have if you are in Oudh. Their Shahi Tukda, its a MUST have, you need to order it (if you have diabetes, risk it for one night but order it). Traditional bread pudding, kheer on top ended up with dry fruits and saffron. Just Wow!!

This is one of the best restaurant in Kolkata. They serves one of the best biriyani and the ambiance is so beautiful❤. It gives a vibes of royalty. The light and the pictures is just took me to the oudh of 1590 period and the gajal in the background just awesome. Now come to the quality of food- they serves authentic awadhi biriyani in a copper coated plate. The biriyani is so good and non-oily and the mutton is also so soft. Their runn biriyani and bhuna ghost is also very good. Overall this is the best mughlai restaurant with great ambiance and great food in reasonable price.

Plastic packed dishes, glasses(Rs-35/- per each packet). Waiters are following safety guidelines and proper PPE. Shoe sanitization & temperature checking are done during entry. Rate- Quite moderate and expensive (Approx. 1200 for two person) Ambience- 5/5👍 Just awesome & decorations are done based on Nawabi style. Location available on Google map. Available on zomato and swiggy. Home delivery from restaurant is not available. All over it was an awesome experience of Biriyani & Kababs and great ambience to let you travel back to Mughal-E-Azam. Must visit for biriyani lovers. One last thing to add Oudh 1590 is now currently holding best biriyani destination in Kolkata as per many survey.

Visited Oudh 1590 for several times and every time fall in love with there hospitality,quick service and mostly for the awadhi food. The ambiance is too good makes u feel like nawab,having your lunch or dinner in a nawabi style and the background musics increase this feeling more. Now come to the food,we always order "awadhi biriyani" when ever we visit there,but this time we tried "moti biriyani" and it was just awesome. Its a must recommend dish along with galouti kebab. After lockdown recently we visited there few days ago and they are maintaining proper safety protocols,taking 25 rs. Per person for the disposal glass plate spoon tissue & salt and pepper . Overall the experience was good as before. A must recommend place If you like the awadhi food and ambiance.

Visited with friends. Experience was awful. First we were charged Rs. 25 per person extra for sanitation purpose. Mandatory bottled water for Rs. 40. Disposable plates, glasses and cutlery were provided at a standard restaurant like this. Biriyani (Rs. 350 per plate) quality was very bad. It was not like this before. Even at the end we were asked to put the used plates in a bag. This kind of service is not acceptable at a restaurant. Do we come to a restaurant to experience this?

It was a great experience with Oudh 1590. They have been serving heritage foods since fourteen century. Mughal Sultan Wazed Ali Shah discovered the Oudh Biriyani for the first time. Oudh 1590 restaurant tries their best to keep maintain the oldest and genuine flavour of Oudh. Specially I impresses on the followings:- 1. The decoration 2. Their behaviour 3. Their professionalism and courteousness 4. And the foods It's also affordable. Not so costly. They take order for home delivery as well. We went there in my birthday, and it was in pandemic time. They were maintaining the proper rules to keep away the corona virus.

First of all food which is great to have. Then, amazing ambience. The behavior of the staff is very good. Awesome seating arrangements. Stunning decorations, wall arts and classical music. The washroom is also neat and clean. Overall the place is amazing to have food. 🙂🙂

The ambience was as usual on point. However the provision of paper plates and glasses was not appreciated. They could have just used the normal copper crockery and cutlery that was used to serve dishes previously. And sterilized it after every usage. That would have been a better solution. Providing paper glasses and plates just ruined the entire royal experience at the restaurant. Otherwise the food tasted great just like it does.

The service was great . The location is great to access. Food quality is great ☺️. Friendly staff. Ambiance is royal and mugalish. Price is good and pocket friendly. All together it was a great experience with friends and family to hand out.

Oudh Kalindi is better choice if you want Oudh in Lake Town area. Ambience here is really nice. Everything they organised well. Seating arrangements are also well and Oudh’s this outlet has more area than salt lake one. They are having wide variety of dishes mainly biriyani and subsequent side dishes which you can have as a Period Dinning. I ordered there Murgh Qualmi Kabab which was really good and tasty and the leg pieces were good in quantity as well. After that I ordered Raan Biriyani with Mutton Bhuna. Both were well prepared but the mutton they used in both the dishes were of very low quality we call them “Boga Khasi” in bengali which are 350 rupees per kilo where as actual khasi we love to eat are of rate 750rupees per kilo. They use low quality of mutton in these mutton recipes for which they charge a lot.This is not expected from this renowned restaurant. So I couldn’t even eat those mutton plates. It’s depends on person, which type of mutton they like. Rest is good like in one recipe we found hair, after complaining they changed that plate it self.

Ambience is very good , feels totally royal. Price is little bit high but handi biriyani can share two people. Mutton and chicken peices were soft. Delivery was good according to the crowd. Have to wait 1 and half hour to go in

A Cozy Oudh 1590 Outlet in Kalindi The Restaurant is very Calm and Wholesome, the Food tastes Good and the Service is nice as well I loved the Chandeliers of this Outlet as well - Overall a great restaurant and a great outlet of Oudh 1590.

This is my second time in Oudh but first time at Oudh 1590, Jessore Road. Ambience has always been this place's trademark which is unique and serves as an attraction for the food lovers, to add to that the Sufi and Gazal songs played out here is so serene and peaceful that it binds you to the atmosphere. Now we come to the selling point of the Restaurant, it's food. Generally it's know for its awadhi cuisine, North Indian and mughlai dishes following which I ordered Nihari, tandoori roti and Awadhi Mutton Biryani. Mutton Nihari - One of the must try dishes here. The rich blend of spices were thoroughly and accurately cooked so much so that the juice was tasty enough to be consumed by roti. There were 4 pieces of boti in the dish, however the boti could have been more thoroughly cooked to effect the tenderness but nevertheless, it wasn't bad either. All in all a very good salan dish which one must try here. Mutton Awadhi Biryani - Contains 2 medium sized mutton pieces, 2 eggs with biryani rice. The taste and aroma didn't met the expectations and the name or reputation of the dish. Rice was undercooked and the quantity of the Ghee in it was so scarce that literally I had to fight with each of it while chewing them. Similarly expected mutton to be more juicy, more cooked and soft otherwise the essence of biryani is lost if the pieces doesn't have that zing to hold on to the taste buds of the people who are eating it. Could have done better with the dish. Soda sikanji - A 200 ml of sugar water solution with jal jeera powder worth Rs. 2/- costed me 110/- 😂. The profit margin was like a neck slitter. Expected better from Oudh 1590. But anyways, everything can't be a top notch but few items are definitely worth a try. So would definitely recommend this to all of you, just try and find if it suits and soothes your taste buds. Have a Happy Eating and Dinning till then, ciao!

Good Points : Good amenities and interior. It feels like palace dining hall. Food Quality: If You are spicy chicken lovers please don't waste your money here. We also tried biryani bit not satisfied. Quantity is very less as compared to the price. Even though they are providing disposable dice and charged for almost 45 Rs/Set. So guys better please look for another place.

Good ambience, but there is an artificial feeling here. But, Saltlake Oudh is better athomsphere. Because there is a realistic feeling. There is a charge of Rs 25 per person for sanitation. For that reason I gave a star less. Sanitation charges should not be taken from the customer. Otherwise the food is good but not the best. The price is little higher than food.

If you want to enjoy quality food with an royal ambience then oudh 1590 is the place you should visit. The interior has a very royal Arabic touch. The chairs are Apt to the background as well. It's spacious and the entry is decorated too. However, I recommend you to try the galouti kebab when you visit there its one of the finest dishes in oudh. Good food good ambiance but a bit slow service(may be because they are serving fresh food) decent portions. What I did not like they charge 25 rupees per person for the sanitization, this is my own opinion may differ from others. I would recomend this place for a good family meal together.

Visited oudh for the first time with my friends in nager bazar .The ambience is to good which makes me feel like your 'highness' queen in a royal place.And the background music is just awesome 😇 their is a thing which makes me cut 1 star is they charge Rs. 25 /- per head for sanitaization which should be free , and then the second thing is they charges extra rupees for disposable plates and water cups .👎 which is awful . We order chicken handi biriyani, galauti kawab, Firni, Qwalm kabab, Reshmi butter masala, murg musallam which is absolutely awesome and tasty .The price us little bit higher comparison to quantity of food.

They don't pickup after u place the order once...they can't come out to handover the packet of food to the person who is taking away...never seen such kind of behavior from other outlets... won't ever visit again.. please keep professional n mannered staffs

This chain located just before Kalindi bus stand infront of the road left hand side towards Nagerbazar,dumdum. Don't go for bread items move to mouthwatering biriyani with specials. Interior is completely based on silicon moulds with nice chairs. Service is lousy but with happy face. Ambiance was delicate and family oriented. Don't leave your sit until your driver waiting for you outside unconditionally at night. Ciggerate and beverages are ordinarily available outside. Hope you enjoyed my review. Thank you

Went to Oudh Kalindi outlet. Awesome Ambience like other outlets. It's spacious as well comparing to other outlets. They maintain same food quality (and quantity) no matter what. Only thing that I felt could've improved is that they hurry too much right after finishing a course.

Most disgusting experience ever. Unfortunately, this time we had to experience most unforgettable experience in a Oudh chain. The table attendants were roaming like anything while eating. Cutlery wasn't clean at all. Mixed salad served with improperly clean onion. Firni given with large spoon. Food is absolute waste.... I sincerely recommend not to visit this branch else you may have the unpleasant implant of Oudh in your mind... Miserable indeed..... As they charged for the unbearable cold food.

Visited this joint 2nd time, Biriyani taste same as of 6yrs ago, so kudos for that. Tried Galawati kabab, as per Kolkata standard it is good, but nothing in comparison of the actual one in Lucknow, so my suggestion, don’t compare. Oudh 1590 comes in the top three in Kolkata when it comes to biryani for me. During this Durga Puja on Sosthi we visited the Oudh 1590, kalindi outlet. The amazing part was that we got a table for five people instantly which seemed rare on the days of festivals. The place was well maintained with a beautiful ambience just like other outlets. There was a pujo special menu card containing some usual items from their regular menu book. We ordered lime soda, aam khaas, two different types of chicken kabab, Mutton raan biriyani and murgh Irani. Their mutton raan biriyani is my favourite. The quantity of one biriyani was enough for two people. Murgh Irani had two big enough chicken pieces so it was also sharable among two. The taste of the kababs were heavenly. The only problem was with the availability of the washroom. There was only one washroom and the condition of the washroom was excellent with all the facilities including the basin for washing hands. But there was no other basin outside the washroom to use. So it was taking a long time to wash hands. Just one hand wash basin outside the washroom can solve this problem. Managers should think of it. Otherwise the behaviour of the staff and receptionists were very good.

‼️Oudh 1590, Kalindi‼️ Most of the people have eaten Biryani of Oudh, some have good experience and some have bad experience, in our case the experience is of second type. Due to heavy rush on Ashtami, we requested to change the table as we couldn't even see the plate and menu card properly due to the dim lighting, after a while, we finally got a table. Secondly, as two admins are fond of Kolkata biriyani, we felt really bad for not having alu in biriyani. Even considering it as a change in taste the biriyani wasn't like biriyani, rather it had a bit of a Chicken Tehari feel.🙂 Although the Murg Bhuna was delicious❤️. And no review for Lucknow Paratha for Rs 85, It was so thin that I can't explain😂 (Note:- Since we are not aware of the service of other branches, our review includes only this Kalindi branch) we ordered- Ghost Awadhi Biriyani (💵- 475) ✨(3.5/10) Murg Bhuna(💵-350) ✨(8/10) Lucknow paratha(💵-85) ✨(5/10) Special- Water for -(💵100)

Had to wait for 20 minutes due to rush. Ambience was excellent. I ordered paneer korma and tandoori roti. Roti was good but korma was kind of bland.

The place is very nice. We ordered one OUDH special raan biriyani and one Ghost DUM biriyani. There is a special reason to go here, Listening to Begum Akhtar's beautiful ghazals has a unique joy in eating biryani. The more interesting thing is, Here you are served food on different plates 🍽, The ambiance of this place is very good and you can feel a Mughal royal moment. In the end, which attracts me more is, You can wash your hands with slices of lemon, and rose petals in a bowl of warm water. (This fascinates me because usually in restaurants we have to go to a separate room (washroom) to wash our hands. While you can enjoy this in the comfort of your seat)

Awesome place with awesome food, service and ambience. Must visit place. We had chicken kalmi kabab in starter. Ordered Ghost awadhi handi biriyani, bhuna chicken in main course. And Shahi tukda was there in desert. We got complementary drinks as well. Everything was so very good that we wish to visit this place very soon.

The Royal ambience of this restaurant is as awesome as their Galauti kabab and Handi Biriyani. The sufi classical song in the backdrop is creating a more magical touch into it.

I recently visited and the food was amazing! I tried Qalmi Kebab and Shahi dahi kebab for starters, Awadhi Murg Parda Biriyani for main course and Gajar ka Halwa for dessert. I absolutely loved the starters and dessert. The main course was pretty good too for Awadhi biriyani lovers.

For best kind of Awadhi Biryani and Galawti Kebab one must visit this place. We enjoyed the ambience and the food here. Recommended

Amidst Royal ambience and nawabi vibes i got highly disappointed by the quality of the food. Not at all expected from Oudh. I ordered chicken gaulati kebab, murg zaffrani kebab, chicken afgani biriyani and firni . The biriyani was pathetic,kebabs were also not vry fresh. But amid this puja rush we got seated vry fast and very warmly welcomed by their staff.

The atmosphere is very good, and the periodic ambience is very enjoyable. And the music, oh 💯. Every detail is very nice, neat and clean. Service is good too. Food is dependable, generally good but this time my kabab and shredded mutton in biriyani was a bit salty, quite sure it wasn't the regular taste. Otherwise everything is good.

Biryani and galouti kabab is best. They were excellent with the right taste and aroma. Prices might be at premium but worth the food and ambience

Food was good. Galauti kabab was wow and just melt in mouth. Biriyani was so so , I don't like it and price it bit higher.

A visit to this place is like experiencing a teleportation back to the era where kings and courtesans would enjoy listening to the ghazals while sitting in a mesmerizing palace setting. The interiors here evoke the charm of an bygone era and the ghazals which play in the background set the right tempo for you to experience the rich and flavorful Awadhi cuisine. I would definitely recommended this place with a caution that some outlets have better ratings than others, so you may choose accordingly.
