They said my dog didn’t had cancer and she did they prescribe her medication for edema and she didn’t had edema she had cancer thanks to that my dog died they gave the incorrect medication 💊 don’t take your pets there they do bad things to your dogs and they look like they want your money because when you pick up your pet they first ask for your debit card before telling you what’s wrong with your dog or cat ….

This place will not let you spend your pets last moments with you. They didn't ask me why I took my pet to have her euthanized they did ask me for payment and pretty much told me to leave. WOW I was floored when the told me"leave her bye", I asked how come I couldn't be next to my best friend for the last time.but coldly I was told no. Pick your animal hospital's, some don't care for your pet there just a money sign.

DO NOT GO! BE PREPARED TO GET SCAMMED. My cat was showing symptoms of him being blocked they charged me 700 just for xrays and antibiotics. A week later he got worst. They convinced me to do surgery , I gave in. After surgery, 1,500 my cat was literally worst I've seen him, then convinced me to put him down for another 330. So unprofessional and sad.

I asked for pink eye removed from my Chihuahua mix. First I was told by the vet my dog needed medicine and if she didn't get well then she would need surgery. To prepare myself with the money I asked for a quote and they told me about three hundred per eye. About a month later I took her back in the same condition. This time they wanted to do surgery the same day but the surgery was going to cost 745.00 per eye. I call that misinformation or dishonesty. You pick which is it. Be careful when taking your pet.

*** TRUE STORY ***THE VET TOLD ME SHE WASNT GOD WHEN I ASKED WHY MY HEALTHY 18 MOS BLUE NOSE PITBULL SUDDENLY STOP BREATHING & DIED. WHATS REALLY HAS ME SUSPICIOUS ABOUT THEIR SERVICES IS THAT THE MEDICATION THEY GAVE ME ONLY MADE MY DOG WORST THEN REALLY WORST THEN DIED IN MY LIVING ROOM ON THE 2ND DAY AFTER THE VISIT TO THE CLINIC. SHE CONTINUED ONLY TRYING TO MAKE ME PAY AN ADDITIONAL $500 WARNING !! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE...ALL THEY FOCUS ON IS THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU ARE WILLING TO SPEND TO HELP YOUR PET. I SWEAR ON EVERYTHING I TOOK MY PET THERE ON FEB 25TH FOR STOMACH UPSET AND PARVO TESTING. FOR $700 THEY ONLY RAN SOME BLOOD TEST & ONE XRAY. NO MEDICAL CARE WAS GIVEN TO MY SICK DOG ...NOT EVEN IVY HYDRATION FLUID ...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING *** MY PET DIED THE SECOND DAY AFTER THE VET VISIT *** I CANT BELIEVE THE VET TOLD ME QUOTE " IM NOT GOD " WHEN I ONLY CALLED TO GET SOME EXPLANATION WHY MY PET DIED.

If i could give negative stars i would..Please be aware of this place. Took my dog in for surgery to remove some skin tags / masses but they missed a couple of them. They try to blame everything on the patient. My sister took her dog in for surgery to remove a foxtail her dog was paralyzes for 2 days they said he had a bad reaction to anesthesia. Long story short they took him to another vey and found they left a leaf in his wound causing a bad infection. Now they are refusing to release his medical records and told them to stop contacting them. They also could not confirmhow much anesthesia was given to him. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE

I took my dog here on May 27th, 2023, After spending almost $500 for x-rays, bloodwork, and 2 medications. She must have had an allergic reaction to the medications because after giving them to her, she stopped eating, and drinking and started vomiting blood. Those were symptoms that she didn’t have before coming to this clinic. On May 31st, she passed away. I don't know what happened to her when she was at the clinic on the 27th, if the exam areas were dirty, or if another animal was sick and she caught something but I do know that I will never bring another pet of mine to this location after what has happened.

Honestly this place doesn’t even deserve a 1 star it deserves 0. Please for the love of your pet do not bring them here! My puppy (2 months old) was ran over and my dad brought him here. Due to work I couldn’t take him in the first day so my dad did. They took XRays of him and gave him medication & told my dad he had 1 fracture and that he should heal with a cast he paid $750 for that. A week later I took him in for a check up. & the first thing I did not like is the fact that you have to wait outside and they do not allow you in to wait for your fur baby. Second the girl who took my dog looked and talked like she was inexperienced. & I also found her to be very rude. When I picked him up They told me he was doing fine and that I had to take him back in two weeks for another check up and X-rays. So I took him in for the second round of XRays. When I picked him up they told me that he actually had two fractures and that 1 fracture needed surgery ASAP so to take him in next week. Surgery would be $2500. This is supposed to be an affordable clinic but there is nothing affordable about that price. I’ve gotten better quotas at other clinics for the same surgery. Anyways This was new information to us because we only new of 1 fracture not two and they had initially told us he only had 1 fracture which would heal with the cast. They charged me 450$ For those X-rays. I asked if I could have a copy of the X-rays or atleast see them and they said that their X-ray machine was acting up and to go back the next day. It is very hard for me to get days off so I couldn’t go back the next day. This was about two weeks ago. Today my pup had a horrible odor coming from his cast so we couldn’t take him to the vet due to work so we decide to take his cast off and see what is going on. We take his cast off and found two large wounds that we did not know about on his leg. When we took him in he did not have them and they never explained or told us he had opened wounds. This could cause a serious infection on my pup and jeopardize his health. I will not be going back. This clinic is the worst! Please please please don’t bring you pet here! We should all petition to shut it down with all these 1 star ratings ! 😡

I took my dog to get spayed at 8:30AM and wasn’t able to receive her until around 4PM. They kept delaying the pickup time due to the fact that some notes needed to be entered into the system. My dog was out of surgery by 1PM, yet it took 3 hours to add notes? I called at 2 and they said the pharmacist was out for lunch, but mind you I didn’t receive a call until 4. They charge absurd prices ($350+ additional charges) so you would at least expect they can deliver good services in a timely manner.

They took down my review so here I am again. We brought my cat in because she wasn't eating and when she did eat she threw it up. They said she had something wrong with her digestive system so we spent hundreds on medicine and food. She didn't get better so we brought her back two weeks later and all of a sudden she has anemia. We spent $700 on anemia medicine just for her to die that same night around 11 pm and they wouldn't give any money back for all the medicine we bought that same day. Save your pockets and your pets by going somewhere else. They took down my review so here I am again. We brought my cat because she wasn't eating and when she ate she vomited. I was required to leave my pet for several hours even though she just needed a skin check. There wasn't any transparency in my opinion. They drew blood but there was no shaved fur on her leg which made me question whether blood work was actually done or just made up. COVID is no longer a thing so it felt like a scam that they don't allow you to go in while your pet is examined. The only positive thing is the staff was friendly and they did follow up on the phone.

Please don’t take your pets to this place all they care about is the money they will charge you for any little thing they won’t explain to you until after the service is done they will come out with something else to charge you for. I took my cat to get neutered I was charged a lot then they told me I had to take her back for stitches removal that everything was included in the price wen I paid. Wen I took her for check up and stitches removal they were charging me to remove them and for check up plus the exam Each separate charge I told them you guys told me the check up and the stitches removal were included in the price I paid. I took my cat to a different vet and they told me It was there responsibility to remove them and check my cat that’s why they charge alot. If i would of known this I would of never took my cat here. Please inform yourselves before any services

They shouldn't charge $25 for the follow-up to check on the work they did. Not only that, when I picked up my dog after the follow-up, they didn't tell me my much, just to pay up the $25 and to take him for a second follow-up, which is another $25. SMH. The Veterinarian needs to interact more with clients to explain things clearly. Clients take their family member to be seen--- not an animal!

I wish I could give them O stars. About a week before thanksgiving we took our cat in because she was losing weight and throwing up every time she tried to eat. They gave us laxities and an appetite stimulant, They charged $750 for x-rays and blood work and took about 3 weeks to finally tell us the results which in that time our cat had made 0 progress and lost even more weight. Every time we called to try to get the results they said they would call us back and yet never did. They finally told us the blood work came back clean besides an infection and tested negative for any major diseases. Two days ago we took her back in because she was worse than ever and told us she had anemia! They then charged us another $700 for treatment and she just died tonight. If you enjoy lack of communication, enjoy people not caring about you or your pets, and enjoy getting overcharged then this is the vet for you. Will never be coming back here again please save yourself the trip and go to a different better vet.

My mother in law has been going here for years with her dog. She found out that Costco has his medicine he needs for seizures for significantly cheaper than what she’s paying now and they fought tooth and nail to not send the prescription to Costco. They even lied while we were in the phone AT Costco in front of the manager for the pharmacy and said they’re on the phone with Costco as we speak and neither the manager or another employee was on the phone at all. He so many bad experiences here. One of the worst options to choose for your animal if you truly love them this place is NOT it. Overpriced and horrible service to their patients. PLEASE save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

Worst place ever… dropped off puppy 3 months old, they had her 4.5 hours!! Just to be called and said she has a scratch on her eye. I authorize an advance eye test.. 55. Dlls. Then 15 min later am given a price of 160, dlls, yet when I go pick her up 7 hrs later, the bill is for 270. Supposedly gave shots meds and a cone.. take home medicine given , paid bill.. yet waiting 45 min to have my baby returned to me, WITHOUT a cone!!! And told I don’t know why she doesn’t have it.. when I questioned them. Never I had I ever experienced such a disorganized non caring vet!will definitely NEVER return!!!

Worst place I ever been too after 1,800 dollars tumor back within 3 months and they said take to specialist or put my dog down I would rather play doctor myself they called it abuse the real abuse is that untrained doctor you have there. Clearly by the comments you need to go back to Vet school. The customer service people are really rude lucky you talked to my sister because this all would have been a different outcome had I came down my dog would have been back in surgery for free and all I would hear is yes mam from you guy’s.

I called before I went to make sure my pet could be seen once I arrived I was met by two very rude staffers who didn't seem to know why I was there so I explained to them that I called prior to coming an was told my or would be seen. After waiting outside with an ailing pet I was told " oh, you need to go to the hospital "!. Without even looking at my pet or examination or anything but there sign says hospital!? So I ask where is the nearest hospital? No one seemed t to know so I googled one myself. Long story short this place is incapable of customer service they don't have any experience or bedside manners they are rude entitled and should go back to school clearly they missed the customer service training! Stay away from this place of you love your pets!

I needed to get my dog a vaccine on the same day and most clinics were by appointment only. I was able to come in as a walk in for the first time and we were attended very well. The staff were warm and friendly and we met other dog owners who were friendly as well. My dog ended up getting all her vaccinations and we left with big smiles on our faces from the experience

You don’t see the veterinarian. Only the front desk people tell you what’s wrong. I wouldn’t come here. Go to the Lakewood dog hospital. This vet recommended some pills for my dog and when I took her to another hospital they said the pills that they gave to my dog had nothing to do with what she had going on. Don’t bring you dog here. Waste of time and money. Lakewood animal hospital is much better and actually know what they’re doing.

I went online to search for a dog & cat emergency hospital and I found the listing for this pet hospital. It said they were a 24 hours Emergency Room for pets. When I arrived at 4 am in the morning with my dog in pain and dying the lights were out, the door closed. I was in so much pain and desperation because dog was dying and the misinformation on the internet stating it was 24 hours. But I found another hospital in Pasadena a 24 hour Emergency Care for pets called Access(call them first before you go in so they can be ready for the arrival of your pet). They were very professional but they couldn't save my dog. So they put her down. Fix your information on the internet so other pet owners do not have to suffer as I did.

Me and my boyfriend went here on 9/08/22 after visiting 3 other vets. The 1st vet wasn't open, the 2nd did x-rays, blood work, and urine tests that cost about 500 and then we got referred to a hospital to for a bowel obstruction procedure. So the 3rd place was VCA lakewood and they wanted to charge us 2,500 to diagnose the problem as well as 6,000 for the actual procedure. We called another facility that had an angel named Ally who told us about South Gate Dog-Cat Hospital. Around 2,700-3,000 for everything. When we called they were very understanding of our situation and I believe even stayed open a little later than usual just to see us. They had said that they wished we had came here first so we didn't have to be jerked around so much. The were reassuring, compassionate, and respectful. This will be my vet from now on !! I don't know why they get a bad reputation. But we had an amazing experience so far. Picking up our little one from his final day of monitoring in about 30 mins :)

Pros: - open Monday- Saturday -accept walk ins Cons: -pricey but if you care for your furry friend you will pay!!! -Busy try and get there as early as 7am to be ahead of the line - charge for follow up of any kind even if pet had surgery there, you still have to pay for them to follow up! -assistant follows up with you instead of the actual vet, would've liked for the vet to speak to me since they know exactly what procedure was done to my cat. At times the assistants would go back and forth asking questions that they couldn't answer. - Didn't want to release my cats lab work or x-rays even though I paid said only dr could release it (another way of saying you can't have the x-rays because you can take them to another vet and it might be cheaper!)

The worst thing is, first they tell you everything they will do to it before knowing what the problem is without having checked it first, and if you don't accept what they want they get angry, and they tell you that if your dog dies it's your fault, which clearly is It is not ethical or professional, I had already read several similar reviews, but I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt, but I see that the people who give their opinion are really right

They got my pet in same day as a drop off when he was sick. New rescue with really bad cough. They did bw and x-rays same day. I was very pleased. If you need your pets records make sure you call them several days in advance as they need to clear it with the doctor before they will send them to you or your other vet office.

The doctor is really good, go early to get the vet assistants that know what they're doing. I had to leave my dog in the morning, and when I picked him up, the assistant returning my dog couldn't answer any of my questions, all she knew to say was "i dont know"..they didnt even give me any after care instructions, they just handed me my dog, I had to call and ask. It's also pretty pricey, they're willing to work the price with you, but don't expect a big difference.

Took my dog (VTEC) very sick and the ppl were really nice took care of my dogs need the consultation was very affordable I think it was $26. I will keep going to this vet for now on so I recommend this office is affordable they not trying to get rich off ppl when they in need.

low cost affordability is laughable at this place, do not waste time coming here unless you want to get over charged and taken advantage of. Also for a low income area and charging “affordable” plans having luxury vehicles in the employee parking lot is not a good look.
