I've been here about half a dozen times for lunch with coworkers and each time I am surprised it's not busier as the food and service has been top notch. The chicken fried steak will easily feed two adults and might be the best around.

Omg!! The chicken fried steak was 🔥! You get two sides, I picked mashed potatoes and green beans and they were both well seasoned. It also came with a side of gravy that was also well seasoned. I also ordered some bread pudding, mannnnn whoever back there in that kitchen, a big shout out to you my friend. Everything was great!

Good value for the food! All weekday lunch items are $6.99. I was surprised, but people were still ordering breakfast too even though it wasn't on the menu. My fried chicken sandwich was kinda plain tasting.

Service was good. Gal on register wouldn't accept discount coupon because "no manager" was there. Food has gone down over last year or so... we will go elsewhere from now on. Treat truckers like that and it's gonna bite you in the backside. Used to be a good place... Do not recommend.

The best hand cut chicken fried steak in the Hutchinson area hands down. 1 of only 2 places I've found making a real chicken fried steak! Not some frozen drop in fryer job. Most everything else is pretty good too but the c.f.s is the crown jewel of this place. Friendly and good waitstaff as well!

Omgosh I found it!! 6 years ago I was riding with my truck driver hubby. I got so sick with strep throat I couldn't eat for like 3 days. I ordered some Mac n cheese hoping I could eat it. They made it extra soft (over cooked the noodles for me) and made me the most creamy, delicious Mac n cheese I've ever had in my life!! I was finally able to eat!! Thank you so much! I can't wait to go back!!

Sunday brunch buffet is incredible! The food is great. They told me its all fresh made and I believe them. It's that good! The buffet had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, breakfast potatoes, biscuits and gravy, Mac and cheese, chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy (I chose brown), enchiladas, and so much more! All of it was top-notch. The service is wonderful. I never had to wait for drink refills. As soon as my glass was empty, Rachel was right there with more of their delicious sweet tea! I never had a dirty plate sit on my table cuz Nancy came and cleaned them up as soon as I was done. I'm a larger man, and I usually have to skip booths and sit at tables with less comfortable chairs, but this place was able to accommodate me. I will definitely come thru here again when I'm in South Hutch. Keep up the good work!

Really good breakfast spot. Probably the best sausage gravy I’ve had in a while. Eggs cooked perfectly. Breakfast meats were tasty. Only slight knock was ordered hash browns extra crispy and didn’t get them that way. Friendly service. Food prep time reasonable for busy breakfast time. Good value for the money.

Where do I even begin, breakfast, lunch ,dinner,brunch... however you want it!! Hands down you will not find a better chicken fried steak in the state of Kansas. Truly a hidden gem that will never disappoint, when it's asked around the family what we eating....need I say more? If you've never been your robbing. Yourself of something truly, BIG BANG FOR THE BUCK!!!

This was a last minute choice and glad we stopped! Food was great! Staff was very friendly and helpful since we were from out of town. Would definitely recommend this restaurant! 😀

We ate at Applewood Restaurant for Thanksgiving. The buffet was outstanding! Having worked in food service industry for most of my life, I don't make that statement lightly. Everything, down to the simplest dishes like corn, rolls, or even the rolls were some of the best I've had. I would highly recommend.

Food was great right from the rolls all the way down to the chicken fried steak and the service is phenomenal and very polite the atmosphere is good it's a place where the whole family can eat at a pretty good price and trust me you get your fill.

Kind people, good food, nice family feel with reasonable prices.

If you're grabbing breakfast and you order coffee, you might want to make sure that your waitress name is not Rachel. She will get your first cup of coffee, but she seems to want to forget that you're going to need a refill soon. Then, when she brought my food, she said that she would bring me more coffee, then ran over to a booth, hidden from everyone's sight and hides. Then, several minutes later, she brings the coffee and fails to apologize for forgetting about the refill. She needs to speak about her customer service skills cause they are lacking. When I left, I mentioned to the other waitress that I appreciated her for being attentive that other customers needed coffee and that I was disappointed that my waitress was not as attentive. That waitress, I guess, took it personally that I was complaining about her friend and started getting an attitude and was acting like she didn't want to talk about it anymore. Like i said, good food, but having good food doesn't make up for the lack of customer service.

The buffet was absolutely delicious 🤤 and on Sundays now they have a brunch buffet so you can eat breakfast and lunch. The food was very tasty!

Sunday around 10:50 am. Busy, but not too busy. We were seated quickly and asked about our drink choices immediately. We both got Sunday breakfast specials @ $8.99 each. Waitress was perfect (I think her name was Maddie B.) She kept our drinks full and remembered everything we asked for. Food took a little time but was great.
