This hotel had all the amenities needed for a first time trip to south Lake tahoe. Complimentary breakfast had a variety of foods to choose from. The staff kept the area stocked and clean-leave them a tip!. They are located across from a convenient store and up to a 10 min walk to casinos and pubs. No fee for parking. Pool was clean and open dawn to dusk. Bears do roam the parking lot in the evening looking for food. They didn't bother us-they just want food. Great price and the rooms were roomy and clean.

Positive things first… Good breakfast buffet Pretty location Centrally located Negative things… Stayed 3 nights. Never cleaned the room even after telling them our room didn’t get cleaned. They only dropped off towels. Air conditioner loud was so loud I had a hard time sleeping. Cycled on and off what seemed like every 5 minutes. TV stopped working halfway they stay. Staff said they called for service but didn’t know when it would be fixed.

This establishment operates independently, but unfortunately, the owners seem to prioritize penny-pinching over guest satisfaction. The worn-out furnishings and lack of investment in upkeep give the impression of a place that's stuck in the past. The front desk clerk's demeanor only adds to the disappointment, reflecting the management's lack of concern for guest experience.

We originally booked the hotel based on the description that it offered 2 bedroom suites. Turns out one of the beds is in the front room right near the door (in the so-called living area). Felt a bit misled but that might be due to interpretation. TV gave us trouble in one of the bedrooms. Only select channels worked. Staff was quick and helpful in providing additional towels. The rooms were clean and smelt fresh. The location is hard to beat. Located near most shops and bike paths.

My family and I had the worst experience at this Holiday Inn Express. The attendant staff repeatedly emphasized that it was independently owned, implying that corporate complaints would be futile. This lack of acknowledgment of basic customer service standards was disappointing. A male staff displayed bias towards my inquiries and even mocked my foreign accent. The in-room phone was non-functional, the entry door had a noticeable crack, and a cold draft persisted throughout the night, one of the pillows had brown stains on them. When I inquired about the check-out procedure due to an incident where cleaning staff entered our room at 9:30 am, I was told with a response indicating that if I failed to inform the front desk upon check-out, I would be charged for an extra day. I requested to speak with the manager, but I was told she was unavailable and advised to send an email. However, I received no response to my email until three days after our departure, with the manager's reply shifting the blame onto me. Their unwillingness to assist was evident, with dismissive phrases like "There is nothing I can do," leaving me feeling disregarded and disrespected. Their consistently rude demeanor made me feel like a second-class guest.

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to shopping and dining and within minutes driving to beach/lake access. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast is one of the best spreads I've enjoyed. Lots of choices, such as scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, pancakes, toast, cinnamon rolls, yogurt, fruit, coffee and an assortment of juices.

This hotel was convenient and clean. The room is spacious it did have some amenities like shampoo and conditioner and a refrigerator Keurig machine things like that, however I did take a star away because the AC was a little bit confusing.. and semi didn't work. There was a thermostat for the room AC which did not work at all but then there was a smaller window AC that barely produced enough cold air to chill the room. The room was pretty stuffy and warm when we first got there It took all day for the little AC to try and cool the room down. Also our room was a king size bed with a jetted tub in the room and a pull-out couch. Now in order to get this room we can only have two guests in it so we were confused why there would be a pull out couch in there If only two people can stay in the room. so we pulled out the bed in the couch and it was dirty and broken to where you couldn't even use it anyways and it wouldn't go back in. I did tell the friend desk about the pullout they were going to put in a maintenance order. However the site of the hotel was perfect as is described in there website the breakfast was amazing actually had everything from yogurt cereal bagels muffins sausage eggs biscuits and gravy pancakes on the weekend juice coffee hot cocoa all very clean and tasted great. The staff was very polite during check-in and check out. I have really great pictures to post but for some reason it won't let me post them.

We chose this place for the location. It’s only 5 minutes walk to the heavenly village and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff who helped us was Eric. He was very accommodating and professional. The room was a bit outdated but clean. Hot breakfast was included and I thought it was a nice perk. We had the option to either eat it there or bring it to the lake but you need to bring your own to go container.

Toilets in bathroom too low. Chair and ottoman take up too much room. Phones in room didn't work? So why have them. Rooms were very neat and clean. Size of room was small for 2 queen beds and chair and ottoman.

I had an amazing stay. The room was spotless … so clean! It had all the amenities I needed. I loved the hotel and loved the location. I felt peaceful and relaxed. I also loved Bryan in the vacation club sales office he was absolutely fantastic and provided excellent service. Overall an amazing stay!

Location : Accessible to most of the restaurant and sight seeing places in south lake Tahoe. Room space : I booked standard room with 2 queen beds for 4 people. It didn't have enough space to keep the luggage for 4 people and i couldn't find space to walk and keep the chair in the room without me bumping constantly into it at the same time. Room Cleanliness : The room was given clean along with the restroom. The bedsheets had some black hard stains though Service : Poor. We asked the reception twice to get the room cleaned and the only thing which we found done in the room was the replacement of the towels in the restroom. The towel bar in the restroom came out twice with little force. The shower valve malfunctioned within 1.5 days of usage which did not let us take bath. I complained this to the reception and nobody came till around 1.5 hrs. In frustration we ended up checking out a day before our checkout date. If a hotel cannot provide basic room service, they should not be categorized as a hotel but instead a motel !. Overall : Except for the good location, expect a pure motel treatment.

We had a great time and our stay at the Holiday Inn Express was wonderful. We asked for our room to be cleaned each day, (which you have to do at any hotel post Covid) and they were happen to do it. We had a nice continental breakfast before we headed to the mountain which was included with our room. It was nice to be able to park right in front of our room and the location can't be better!! Thanks

Great location to Heavenly ski resort and the casinos . Easy to park right in front of the room. I love not having to listen to other people walk down the hallway after their night out or hearing an elevator. Can’t ask for a better continental breakfast which is included with the room. The staff is friendly and willing to help. They are nice to give recommendations for restaurants and shopping.

The room was neat and comfortable. The location is quite close to restaurants in Heavenly village. The breakfast area seems to be small, and had very few tables and it got crowded, needs to be improved

We took the Queen 1BR suite and it was pretty spacious and clean with comfy beddings. Very conveniently located - heavenly, restaurants, casinos all within a 10 min walk. Best part was the well stocked breakfast buffet. Took off one star as the prices were a still quite high for the value and the staff seemed pretty rude when asked about late checkout.
