We had yummy breakfast from here. The quality of food was really good. They have a really good menu. It's difficult to get a seat there. Expect minimal 1 hr wait time

At first we were going here just to grab coffee on our way to the beach, but when we got there, we saw the menu and decided to have a breakfast there. We tried different menu options: 2 eggs breakfast with veggies, Denver omelette and scram with bacon. Everything was delicious and we didn’t even take photos of food😅 The second round we had Belgian waffle with bananas and a chocolate chip pancake with cappuccino, double espresso and tea. I should mention that this place impressed my spouse with tea options. Our server brought the whole box with different tea and my husband was able to pick the one he wanted. Coffee was really good as well! Overall it was a great place with super friendly staff, good menu options and tasty food! Also, the cafe has its own free parking, so you don’t need to worry where to park.

Great food! Beautiful place, excellent lighting and great coffee! We arrived at about 9, there were seats and plenty of parking. Food arrived quickly and it was tasty. The biscuit was amazing! The waitresses were attentive, except for one who kept ignoring us when she walked by refilling everyone else's coffee but mine, but that's just one rotten apple. Everyone else was great! We had the waffle and 2 egg breakfast.

Excited to say they had more vegan options added to the menu then when I had looked online before going!! I ordered the vegan banana French toast because when will I be in a cafe again with that being offered to me?? 1% chance if I’m not at a vegan specific restaurant that’s the chance. French toast was yum. My side fruit cup was not ripe but I knew that was the risk I took when ordering it. Espresso was 3/5. Green smoothie was an ugly color but super tasty and not too cold which I appreciated!

Nestled in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, Earnie’s Coffee Shop is a true culinary haven for breakfast, brunch, and dinner enthusiasts. With its charming ambiance, diverse menu, and a commitment to offering vegan and vegetarian options, this eatery promises a delightful dining experience for everyone. My visit to Earnie’s Coffee Shop was a journey through flavors and tastes that left me utterly satisfied. The breakfast spread was nothing short of extraordinary, with options that catered to a variety of preferences. Starting with the Mollete, the perfectly toasted bread topped with refried beans, cheese, and salsa was a fusion of textures and flavors that instantly energized my taste buds. The Biscuit with butter, their specialty, was indeed a standout. Flaky, buttery, and simply divine, it’s no wonder it’s a star on their menu. The care and craftsmanship that went into creating this simple delight were evident with each scrumptious bite. For a healthier option, I opted for the Oatmeal and Granola. The oats were cooked to perfection and combined with crunchy granola, creating a comforting and nourishing morning treat. The balance between textures and the sweetness from the granola made it a hearty choice. The Breakfast Quesadillas with Tofu were a revelation for anyone seeking a vegan delight. The tofu provided a satisfyingly hearty protein, perfectly complemented by the array of vegetables and spices. It’s a dish that would impress even the most ardent carnivores. The Sprouts Salad with bread was a refreshing and light dish that packed a punch of flavor. The combination of fresh sprouts, vegetables, and a side of bread made it a well-rounded and satisfying choice, especially for those looking for a healthier option. The Two Eggs Omelette with Hash Browns was a classic done right. Fluffy eggs enveloped a medley of fillings, and the accompanying hash browns were crisp and golden – a quintessential breakfast comfort dish. To complete my meal, I indulged in a Mocha that was nothing short of divine. The perfect balance of rich chocolate and robust coffee was a match made in beverage heaven. One aspect that truly stood out was the attentive and friendly staff. Their willingness to accommodate dietary preferences and provide recommendations added an extra layer of warmth to the dining experience. Earnie’s Coffee Shop in South Lake Tahoe is a culinary gem that masterfully weaves together a diverse menu with top-notch execution. Whether you’re a vegan, vegetarian, or a devoted carnivore, this eatery caters to all palates. With its inviting ambiance and mouthwatering offerings, Earnie’s Coffee Shop is more than just a dining spot – it’s a destination that transforms a meal into an unforgettable experience.

Incredible service and food. I don’t know how anybody rated them less than 5 full stars! Paul’s Classic omelette and French toast were just incredible—the taste was full and flavorful 👌🏼 cappuccino was legit too, now I know what a real cappuccino is!

Good coffee, great freshly squeezed orange juice. Omlets and hash brown were nice and pancake was also decent. Avocado toast felt more like assembly of ingredients. Overall vibe was pleasant. It was crowded and we had to wait for 30 minutes to get in.

The atmosphere gives off small town mom n pops vibes. Friendly and attentive staff. Note: the side of sausage links are cheaper than the side sausage patties. The price difference is comical. This detail is not reflected on the menu and we received looks of incredulity when we suggested it was deceptive. Added note in reply to the lovely owner: Jealously is ugly.

Ernie's is our go--to place for breakfast every year during memorial day weekend, when we are visitors at Fallen Leaf Lake. Place is always jammed on that Friday a.m.. service is friendly & 100% competent, always. Ernie's is worth the wait....great short order cook presides! Stay safe, well & healthy, folks:. We hope you're around for a good long time. (Years ago, initially chosen over Bert's across the street because we judged Ernie's chef's better). Stay healthy & safe you guys, til we see you next May, & THANK YOU!

Great little restaurant, food was delicious. I did not have any issues with my service. However, my mother asked twice for eggs with cooked yolk and both times received runny eggs. She then asked for milk and was brought water. Granted, it was a busy day over Thanksgiving weekend. Overall, I would eat there again!

This is hands down the best orange juice I’ve ever had. It’s fresh squeezed. My wife and I absolutely love Ernie’s. We go here for breakfast every time we come to Tahoe. It’s better than all of the other breakfast restaurants we have tried in Tahoe. The omelet and the French toast are fantastic. My wife loves their hot chocolate.

I ordered a veggie grill sandwich with coleslaw. It was one of the best I got outdoors. Also they have vegan French toast option, which is rare in itself. And adding to it, it was pretty good too. Hands down, wonderful cappuccino. Latte was too milky and less coffee. But no complaints.

Sad we didn’t try it on our first day in Tahoe so we could come back. Everything was stellar from the wait staff to the food, coffee, restaurant, oh! And the freshly squeezed orange juice! I don’t even like OJ like that but I tried some and had to order more to go. The portions are perfect. The food comes out in a reasonable time. Our waiters were very attentive and so kind. So so good, I couldn’t recommend Ernie’s enough.

We were a group of 8 PCT hikers and we have been greatly welcomed at Ernie's café. Fresh and tasty food served in generous portions, probably one of the best place so far on trail according to each of us. Thank you Kent (the owner) & Nicole (our waitress). It is defintly a must stop for all starving PCT hikers and any other food lovers on town !

Ernie's Coffee Shop is the best breakfast place to go in South Lake Tahoe! I'm so glad we found this place a few months ago, it even had helpful phone numbers for service in their lobby. I found 2 different handymen that posted for snow removal and hauling which turned out great! Great Coffee, Service and of course food..

What a great find for breakfast! The coffee was great, the breakfast sandwiches were wonderful and the waffles were delicious! Maria, our server, was fun, efficient and friendly! We must have timed it just right as we had no wait and got a booth by a window. Kudos all...super experience!!!!

Food was amazing, we went in on a Sunday and it was pretty busy. Staff was friendly but busy. I got the Mollete and it was fantastic. I'm a huge coffee lover and they have a "bottomless" coffee, but I only ended up drink about one and. A half cups because the servers were so busy I had to wait for a refill. Not the servers fault, weekends are busy. I'll definitely eat there again. My kid loved the mickey pancake!

Very clean and friendly staff, nice touch where you sit with cups ready for coffee to be poured into. You can also buy grain/bean coffee bags to go (which we did) I was recommended the “moyete” and was not disappointed if you love chorizo, potatoes, jack cheese AND Avocado!!! Look no further! Ask for the salsa on the side and that also will not disappoint.
