Hats off to the chefs all the food was fantastic. The shrimp cocktail was seasoned just right and the Asada meat in my tacos was really good meat. My son enjoyed the quesadilla.The service was amazing too. Highly recommended this restaurant. Must try their house margaritas.

I'm a local and love this place..... Heather is an awesome bartender who knows what I require just on a glance. The Chile Verde is delicious, but beware of the aftermath! Have your Tums and baby wipes on hand. Fair warning.....

Visited Lake Tahoe for a week with my family. We’re Latino so we needed our Authentic Mexican food fix. Ordered the birria meal. The food was in fact pretty authentic Mexican tasting. Nice and greasy in a good was as expected with Mexican food containing red meats. Portions were a good size. Service was excellent as well.

Margaritas seems like yet another solid local spot on 89. A bit out of the crowded South Lake Tahoe area — just how we like it. We’re visiting South Lake in a shoulder season so we walked right in at 1pm on a Saturday and we’re seated immediately. The place itself is nothing to write home about, it’s clean enough and has a bit of a ‘Tahoe’ vibe, but almost nothing about it would indicate that it’s a Mexican restaurant. The bartender was friendly and attentive, bringing chips and salsa right when we were seated. She promptly got our drinks and orders. Service was great. My group and I ordered a couple of combination plates and a steak quesadilla. I thought the shredded beef was pretty good but got mediocre reviews for the chicken and steak fillings. This was our second time here so it’s definitely worth a trip, and solid food and atmosphere to return. It did seem like multiple people in there at the time of our visited had come often. Overall, the experience is good and solid food. Nothing to write home about and nothing to complain about!

What a great place. I had a burrito 🌯 and was not able to finish it, which is very rare for me. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was very nice as well. Unfortunately it started raining when we were there, so we couldn't sit outside.

Food is ok, and that's why we came back a few times.. the service has never been great but good for Tahoe (local know what I mean).. however, today was terrible.. we got to the restaurant around 5pm and we were not greeted for a while, once someone finally came out of the back to seat us, well actually just said seat yourself:. So we waited for a while and finally got a waiter, I ordered the vegetarian burrito and some coffee, my partner had some questions about the crab meat used in another dish.. a little later a different waiter came and took his order. 30 mins later they brought his food, but not mine.. so the first waiter never put in my order. Now mistakes happen but when I brought this one to our waiter's attention she literally told me it was my fault.. also went without water and coffee, there were a lot of staff and they were all having a good time chatting and talking amongst themselves. I left hungry and will never go back..

The food is delicious and plentiful. The chips and salsa were delicious as well. The menu was full of great selections and I would go back and try many more things. The margaritas are spot on and good. The service was great and on top of everything.

Delicious drinks, strong and not too sweet. Great ceviche and tacos. Outdoor area is quiet although next to roadway. Servers were very attentive checking on us frequently. Overall very happy with my experience. Also was allowed to have my small dog with me in outside area.

Always loved this place until our last visit, took our friend to dinner and all three entrees came covered in an ugly green sauce, enchiladas and Chile rellenos. When we questioned the waitress we were told they always used green sauce. NOT true, just look at the pictures of their food online. If we weren't so hungry we wouldn't have eaten it. Had been our favorite Mexican restaurant in town, and our last 4-5 visits would have been 4or 5 stars but didn't appreciate the green sauce or the BS story that came with it. Might have to find a new place.

My husband had the chicken fajitas, there was literally about 3 pieces of chicken. I had the seafood enchiladas with the seafood totally mush, I expected chunks. The green chili sauce was sour making it un-etable, I was only able to eat half as it was a $24.00 dinner.

$30 for this?? Over priced. And cold. Staff was very nice.

Rip off. Overcharged with different price than what was on menu. Rude staff. Horrible food and wife had a bug frozen in her ice. This place should be condemned.

Always have a good lunch or dinner here. Great margaritas! I like the seafood enchiladas. The salsa is chunky and they even have a habanero sauce if you ask for it. Consistently great food.

Stopped here for lunch as we were looking for Mexican food and glad we found this place! Food very good as well as the service very fantastic and friendly people. Parking is available and its location is super as you can’t miss this Margaritas sign from the street! Will surely come back here!

I've been here twice for lunch with my coworker and both times we got overcharged. The staff didn't understand what street tacos were and another time their online prices did not match what we were charged in person. The food is decent but we do not appreciate the price for what we get.

The good. The service is awesome, the place was clean, and there was plenty of parking. The bad. The food, there was no flavor, the chicken tasted like it was boiled without any seasoning, the guacamole clearly wasn't made in house, the shredded beef was, inedible and the food was over-priced, $4.50 for a taco? Really? I am not sure if the cook changed or they they switched to Sysco kits, but Taco Bell does Mexican better.

The food is over the top. I've been in California for 40 years. This place is a must. The bloody mary is hand mixed, the best I've ever had. If you like octopus it was perfectly prepared, melted in my mouth. Best possible experience. Raphael is a total fun person. Don't miss this, on par with your best hopes. Thank you.

Dined here on a Tuesday night. Not busy at all but the service was poor. The margarita was outstanding. The tacos were too greasy. I ordered 2 tacos, only got one. Brought me my other taco then charged me for 3. Finally got the bill figured out. One of the other servers was delivering meals to the wrong tables. It’s 5 pm in a Tuesday and not busy. Shouldn’t be messing up. We’ve been cooking our own meals, if this is indicative of the restaurants here Lake Tahoe area, I’ll not eat out while here. Life is too short to eat bad food.

This place is AMAZING! I usually over rate places however, if your traveling through South Tahoe (even north) it's way worth the trip. They have an amazing staff, fresh squeezed margaritas. Real asada and a guacamole to die for. (You can buy some to take home) Definitely make this a stop.

Excellent authentic cheese enchiladas with amazing refried beans! Well worth a visit or two by you! Relaxing, enjoyable atmosphere. Wait staff very attentive and the bartender and chef are great fun! We ate at the high tables in the bar. The chef would make guest appearances. Very fun place for lunch. We'll definitely come check out the dinner atmosphere. We'll be back!
