I booked a room and prepaid a room here. Where I am arrived to check in was nobody there after 2h still nobody there. I tried the Ring at the office but it wasn't working. Then I tried to call the number at the door, after 45min wait in holding line I give up. No chance to get in contact with the owner..... I must search another room. In the night I got a code via mail for the second night... Now it's to late..... I can highly recommend to not use this location.

Overall, this place is pretty good, especially for a solo traveler. The location within SLT is excellent at any time of year and the no-nonsense motel-style setup is great for having easy access to one's car. The fireplace works great. The kitchenette is nice to have. That said, some elements are definitely in need of a refresh, and the lack of proper table seating would discourage me from spending more than a couple of nights here in the future. You can also see a yellow-ish hue in my pictures, which points at another problem... the lighting is very dim.

My husband booked this stay for this past weekend. The blinds were awful and let light in all night. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything. We noticed that there was no battery in the smock detector or fire alarm, called to ask for battery’s and got ignored.

This is basically a nicely styled motel just outside the Heavenly Village area. Close to the bus pickup for the chair lift that departs from the Heavenly Carpark.

Currently in a room here and have been trying to reach customer service with help and it’s been over ten minutes trying to reach the front desk. Our toilet doesn’t work, in fact, it has a note to hold the handle down and despite trying to hold down the handle, it will not flush. For the price of this room, a non working toilet is frankly unacceptable and to have a note saying hold the handle down…means this is an ongoing issue. We are having to leave our room to go to a McDonald’s at 8 pm to use the restroom before bed. So disappointed and would not recommend.

Perfect for what we were looking for - cabin feel while still being close to town and skiing! Our trip was only one night but would easily have stayed longer. Upon arrival Daniel was onsite to help us with check in questions and getting the fireplace going. He was so friendly and helpful and even provided us some fantastic recommendations for live music and great food. We took his recs and had a beautiful evening out - and then returned back to our cozy fireplace. I love that you can control the fireplace off and on, blinds allowed us to sleep in and it was super quiet! Thank you, Daniel!

Took a short 3 day vacation from Texas to South lake tahoe and the stay here was excellent. Clean and nicely decorated room with a fireplace, very affordable, walking distance to many restaurants, and not too mention was a beautiful location to visit. Really enjoyed my stay! Highly recommend 😄

This is a nice and cozy stay place...even when there is no snow! Close to anything you want in South Lake Tahoe. Would stay here again.

Booked via expedia (no prepayment, pay at the hotel) but was charged full price instantly by Heavenly Valley Lodge so I cancelled right away. Messages have been ignored since. Finally expedia helped and got in touch with this lodge to get my money back... We're glad to have booked another accommodation! Edit: @Heavenly Valley Lodge: you definitely ignored my messages until expedia contacted you and your reply to my rating shows how you're coping when things aren't smooth ;-)

Nicely located. Friendly staff. Room was small, felt cramped in. The late night visit from a large bear (across the parking lot) was an added attraction. Over all, filled our needs. Good value for the price.

Room was nicely decorated, but too small. The set up is more like a motel instead of cabin-like description on website. Dog friendly, but only for small dogs.

Pros - clean, well decorated and comfy bed. Cons - the two things that I loved about the reviews, fire pit chats and breakfast no longer exist. Minute rooms, half the size of most hotel rooms. One collapsible wooden chair ( between two people ??!) nowhere to sit and eat, except for the bed. Kitchenette is an overstatement. No hob , oven , pans. The worst thing though? Plastic knives forks and spoons along with plates and bowls…. Covid might have given them an excuse at one time, but not now. Aren’t we all aware of how damaging this one time use, throw away plastic culture is ? Poorly finished kitchen cupboards.

We've been coming to HVL for several years and this will be our last time staying here. We were very disappointed that the bed sheets didn't appear to have been changed before our stay. Lesson learned: always inspect the bed prior to getting tucked in for the night.

Cute cozy room just wished there was somewhere to unpack my clothes. Comfy memory foam mattress was too warm for me but would be good in winter. Kitchenette made it easy to prepare sandwiches for the day.

Have made multiple attempts to contact them to cancel my reservation and nobody will return my calls or emails. I'm very frustrated and want my card credited for the charges. Made the reservation directly on their website. They don't answer email. Their phone number goes to the Philippines.

Poor experience overall. No staff onsite, unsafe rooms (no carbon monoxide detector or smoke alarm despite fireplace in the room). Ended up leaving and going to another hotel.

Was a very cute place. Cabin feel but with hot water. It is very small though, we didn't have any issues just the 2 of us. Close to heavenly, close to lake.

Customer service was great. I majorly messed up my reservation, but they were so helpful fixing it in a very timely manor. So many places would not have been as accommodating. Also, the room was absolutely adorable, comfortable and cozy.

This is an okay place to stay. I love that they send a lot of emails before our stay to inform us about everything. However, the room itself is pretty old and it definitely does not look as cozy as the pictures.
