    Good location, nice sized living area, excellent parking, good view of the river and city. Terrible old bathroom, air con stinks and doesn't work properly, walls are quite thin and you can hear your neighbours, and not a single staff member smiled or said hello/good morning or appeared to be happy there. Watch out for undisclosed fees - we were charged for use of the sofa bed when it was part of our booking, it took 7 weeks and a complaint to fair trading (Commerce WA) to get our money back.

    $184 a night Not a very welcoming experience from the beginning. Felt very rushed by lady at reception and wasn’t friendly at all. Couldn’t crack a smile or a simple hello. No cutlery (only 2 biodegradable teaspoons) No plates or bowls No microwave No linen for pull out bed Not even a toaster Shower wasn’t great nor that clean. Shampoo & conditioner only enough for one person. (Booked for 2) Thankfully brought our own. Reception doors don’t lock. Went out for a late night mission around 12:30am for food since I couldn’t heat anything up or make some simple toast. Came back around 1am and didn’t even have to tap card to get back in. No one at reception or anywhere to be found. A fair bit concerned about how easy it would be for anyone to walk in. Security deposit took over a week to get back! Was only $100. Such a shame. The view was nice at least, but didn’t feel as if it was worth the money AT ALL. Can’t say I’d like to stay here again and won’t be recommending to anyone else if I’m honest.

    The room we stayed in was inundated with baby cockroaches. I killed 7 before bed and when we awoke in the morning there were at least 3 more babies, plus 2 large cockroaches in the bathroom as well as one crawling on our baggage. When we checked out and discussed the insect issue, reception noted that we should have called them and we could have moved rooms. This isn’t so easy with two kids and two adults at 9pm for a 1 night stay. I note previous reviews about roach problem but the responses seem to be that you have monthly pest control. Based on the number of cockroaches I would suggest you need more than this. Aside from the roach issue- the bathroom was mouldy, the bath had peeling paint and there was a drain beside the toilet stuffed with paper. Aircon was ineffective in our room and it was very hot. Check in was easy and reception was friendly. Room was well sized. Plenty of parking. Unfortunately due to the pest control issue and bathroom condition, I would not stay again nor recommend this to anyone with young children.

    Generally, the room and location was fine. I was asked to provide card details for deposit which is understandable. Noted a charge of $61AUD a day after checked out. Was not informed of the above cost at all and would not have known if I do not check my transaction history carefully. Spoken to the team via phone calls and emails multiple times just to explain the issue. Did not receive any response over a 3 weeks period until I called again to emphasize it is a formal complain. Still waited for 4 days for their reply after the complain and what they said basically was nothing more they can do as this transaction could not be found on their end and advised it could be a pending transaction. And I was like... 3 weeks gone already and the deposit is still not returned??? Looked again in my transaction history clearly stated "Posted". Was assisted by my own bank for a transaction dispute. Hopefully can get it back. Strongly advise everyone to check their transaction after staying.

    The lady at reception was very rude.. She has difficulties understanding I guess. I arrived at 11:00 pm to check in she wanted $100 security deposit which is fine . I gave her my card details she said it wouldn't work this way she wants physical card. I offered her to pay from the card in my phone's wallet but she said she wants cash and its not her problem from where I will get it. Other staff member helped me and charged from the same card and then she handed me room key and didn't even bothered to guide me where the lift is! . my floor was extremely noisy as well . Not a good experience for $190 a night .

    BYO hot water and WiFi! This was not a pleasant stay. Upon arrival, I was allocated room 11, which is probably the worst room in the hotel (for the sake of other people in the hotel, I am hoping that is the case). I was told initially that this room was on the 10th floor, so proceeding to the 10th floor I could not find my room and it was only on the second visit to reception did they then say it was on floor 1. The room was nicely made upon arrival, however, it lacked the finesse of almost every other hotel room that I have been to previously. Simple things like other people's black hair in the bath were certainly off-putting immediately. The supposed hot water was ridiculously cold and is best used as a cold water drinking tap rather than anything you can shower in. In fact, for my entire stay, I never use the cold water tap once in the shower. The Wi-Fi is quite accessible, however, the internet speed is average at best, and more often than not, when you use the internet in your room, it detrimentally affects the Android TV in your room. My room had access only to standard television stations and lacked a microwave that is pictured on their website, and which I happen to see in other rooms.

    Beds are comfortable and great view in morning and evening, rooms are basic with what you need to lay your head. Towels are soft and linnen clean. Bathrooms could do with a well needed upgrade. There is a small bar fridge and complimentary tea and coffee. Parking is limited but free. The staff are friendly and welcoming and attend to issues respectfully and quickly.

    I'm currently staying in the hotel and at 3:34 am I write this review as I haven't been able to sleep. The bed is missing the middle wheels, one side has the leg with no wheel and the other side has nothing, causing the bed to dip in the middle and to the side. I'm here for 4 nights and if I can't get them to fix the bed or change my room I'm not going to be able to move by the end of my trip.

    All my experience while staying here was horrific. We came down at around 10am for check-in as any place if the rooms are available you could sometimes check-in earlier, we just asked to check-in, and they didn’t even look at us and just shaking their heads saying “No check-in till 2PM”. That was it. We then asked them if we could leave our bags and they told us to leave our bags in the kitchen. Literally next to the smelly sink in the kitchen area and we asked if its safe to leave it here and they responded “Do you not see this is a hotel?” Well, if this is a normal hotel, do you get to ask your customers to leave their bags in your kitchen when it’s completely open to public? No one was even trying to be nice. Just the way they communicating to people are wrong.

    The staff are definitely 100% a 5 star rating. Unfortunately before I booked I didn't realise there was the original older rooms and a newer side. When I booked it was for the older rooms. The room was OK the bath / shower however was absolutely disgusting.. definitely needs to be replaced. The bath inside where you stand to shower had a completely open drain with some sort of kitchen sink catchment thing resting on top. The inside of the bath was peeling and all sorts of funky colours. I actually thought when I booked my kids could enjoy baths whilst we were staying there but I felt disgusted at them actually sitting in the bath due to its state. I would stay here again ONLY if I was to stay in the newer rooms. Like I said the staff and reception was all amazing.

    Stayed here for 10days, The service was amazing the night and day staff amazing and friendly, I tried everything off the menu while staying here and I could not fault any of it, but my most fave would have to be a simple beef burger, It was so tasty, the patty was tender and juicy, the portion size was perfect. Every night I'd get back and my room would be clean with fresh towels etc, plus the awesome view every night. Plenty of parking too. I would stay here again if ever I needed too. Thank you, to all the staff at Metro Hotel and to the Maori guy who would do the security at night, it was a pleasure talking to you.

    Room was was big enough. I would prefer to have a room in ground to level 3/4 but was allocated room in 9th floor. When requested to change the room , there was no availability of others room as the receptionist said they were house full. Few noticeable stains on blanket . Would have loved windows but there was not available. When we checked in staffs were infomative and helpful but when he checked out, staffs seemed us they had zero level of customer service. Plenty of parking spaces.

    So I stayed in room 72, first off an amazing view from the balcony. Plenty of room in the hotel room too, downside the tv couldn’t get reception 👎….. had other means to watch movies etc. Ordered room service the guy who delivered it was very nice and helpful! The food was amazing, had the burger plenty of food couldn’t eat it all! Cheese cake to die for 😋😋 Definitely worth the cost. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking 🅿️

    Stayed here quite a lot over the years and never complained. But my room this time is looking worse for wear. Stains everywhere.. on the floor. On the couch. On the walls. Bath tub is falling apart and rusty around the drain. Curtains are deteriorating. I like staying here due to the location. But the place definitely needs some attention. Im not being a Karen. Just giving my honest feedback. Id still stay here again

    Room size is good. View in balcony is great, but need level higher then 3(maybe), some rooms in level 2 don't have views. there is Breakfast buffet. McDonald's in walking distance.

    Very comfortable stay. We were offered an early check-in on 1st floor.The fifth floor rooms was offered subsequently. The service was good, Very centrally located hotel..Great view from the balcony of 5th floor, We requested for a microwave as were staying for 9 nights at a strech . Room was quite clean with toiletries replaced every day

    I strongly believe in what you pay you get, so no complaints about this hotel as i always try to utilise money by not wasting at 5star hotels rather book a budget hotel as most of the day time you explore the city where you go. All you need is a comfy sleep on a clean beds & spotless toilets & showers so i got that according to my planned budget & stayed happily there. Nice views, clean beds, towels everyday, spotless showers & toilets, Aircon. & of course comfy beds with clean linen & Donna

    I stayed at this hotel three nights from 25/3/22 to 28-3/22. My booking was for Standard Economy Room and requested: Non-smoking, Large bed, Quiet room. 6 minutes after the booking on 21/3/22 I have received an email from the motel that said: "Dear Guest, We are pleased to inform you that your special request has been received and approved. Best Regards" I even followed up on the phone regarding the request and I was again informed my request will be honoured. However, when I arrived I saw I was placed in another room with four single beds. Also the lamp between the beds was not working and the room had signs that said "no smoking or vaping in the room or balcony yet there was over 50 cigarette butts on the balcony- as a non smoker it was inconvenience to sit on the balcony as the smell and sight of the cigarette butts were horrible and unsettling. My booking was non refundable and I believe I was deceived and was given false acknowledgement of special requests as the person/hotel knew I had no choice but to accept whatever I was given. This is false advertisement and reassurance on the hotel part. To make things worse when informed the staff at the hotel reception desk about this issue, the male and female at the desk both rolled their eyes and seemed bored and annoyed at my complaint. I was told "it is luck of the draw when it comes to room placements". I find that ridiculous and insufficient and I think a honest approach of letting the customer know their special requests are unable to be met is more better.

    I do not understand how this hotel is rated 3.5 stars. It’s honestly a disgrace for the area that it is located in. The room was disgusting. Floors looked like they haven’t been cleaned in years. Whether it is vomit stains or something else I’m not sure. Bed and bed frame had stains all over it. Bathrooms were also stained and filthy. The curtains were falling off and dust covered every inch of the room, I cannot forget to mention the fact that the smell within the hotel and hotel rooms were putrid. I went onto their website and made a purchase based off the advertised content. It is nothing near the photos on there! They only thing that was nice is the view I believe that’s all we really paid for… definitely regret the stay and don’t recommend!

    Average hotel, good for a short stay as central to everything, but facilities aren’t great, one lift was constantly broken and no service lifts for the staff so all guests and staff had to wait extended periods of time during peak times. - room service still cleaning rooms at 4pm in the afternoon for the guests that are staying there and even when the “please clean room” sign was hung they still did not complete the room. - towels and rubbish constantly left in the hallway at all hours of the day/night. BUT the reception staff were really lovely and as accomodating as they could be for extra blankets and pillows when requested. Overall not a terrible place to stay but definitely read more into reviews before booking next time!

    The Rooms are nice and lots of room to move around, great view, private balcony, staff were very friendly. The only problem was, the rooms were not very clean, there were dirty cup marks on the bedside table, and especially the bathroom, when I mentioned that my toilet was VERY dirty, they were to send someone to clean it, but it still did not get cleaned very well, not satisfied with the cleanliness at all, but apart from that, great location, spacious rooms, friendly staff, just need to upgrade the cleaners. Put up a pic of the view from the balcony.

    Had a club room for a night. Started off well with Adele on the front desk checking us in who was pleasant and friendly. Room was spacious and clean and great big bathroom. Nice surprise that all in house movies were free and complimentary soft drink from mini bar. Club room had excellent service and free flowing drinks. Breakfast at firehouse grill was delicious. Would recommend a night here. Only thing it needs is a bigger better pool area. If it did this would be the place to go instead of crown.

    I did realise that there are 2 hotels (one in the city and one in the South)!! I booked the one in the South! It was very inconvenient, very far from the city!!! The INTERNET CONNECTION is EXTREMELY SLOW!!! I WOULD NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE!!!! SO DON'T BOOK HERE! IT WILL BE A WASTE OF TIME!!!!

    // 10 September 2023 We enjoyed a three-night stay in a generously sized Riverview room located on the 10th floor of the hotel. The room comfortably accommodated two people and offered breathtaking views of the CBD area along the river. The bathroom facilities were decent, featuring both a showerhead and a shallow bathtub. However, the Wi-Fi signal is extremely weak. I ran a test using the app, and it's reaching speeds as slow as 3MB per second, occasionally becoming virtually non-existent. Even 4G is faster in comparison. Daily room cleaning was provided, although it fell short of our expectations in terms of thoroughness. We noticed strands of hair on the toilet even after it had supposedly been cleaned. // 17 September 2023 During the final part of our trip, we lodged at this hotel once more and were allocated a Standard Economy Room on the 5th floor. The room comfortably accommodated two people. The only drawback was the noise from the traffic near the hotel.

    Stayed at Perth Metro for a month and I can’t say anything negative about them. The staff was great, room service 5 star. The room had a bit of a smokey smell but wasn’t a negative. On our next visit to Perth, we’ll stay there again.

    The hotel's cleanliness is atrocious. There were so much hair in the toilet and when I tried to wipe the floor, the wipe was all black and dusty. The bed though made daily, but bread crumbs and used tissue paper were found on the bed. The Housekeeping doesnt even wash up the used utensils. You could see a layer of dust on the tables. The light bulb was fused on Day 1 and nothing was done. The saving grace is that view from the room is amazing.

    I don't normally do reviews but decided to sing the praises of The Metro Hotel, South Perth. Check in was fast, efficient and friendly. Room is very clean, looks like it has had a refit. Bed very comfortable. For the price a great experience. Well done Metro.

    The room view was spectacular. We commend Lee and Dree they were amazing staff offering great customer service. Lee went above and beyond to help us get to our concert we were attending. The ladies behind reception should learn from these staff and all would be great service then. Rooms were a little aged, bed was not comfortable.

    While the bed was clean and comfortable, the room was dingy. There was no water pressure in the sink to even brush our teeth. The art in the room was covered in dust and bathroom floor was dirty. The hallway carpet was disgusting with fresh stains. At night there was yelling and bad language from a group of people on their balcony below us. Then as we checked out they refused to fill my water bottle in the kitchen despite not being able to fill it in our room due to the water pressure. Terrible service. Would never stay again.

    My elderly mother and I planned to stay here one night but ended up not sleeping and leaving at 4am because we felt unsafe as there was a gang outside our door. We called and complained and they offered us a refund…this was over six months and the refund never came.

    I'd give this 3.5 stars if I could. Rooms were clean, staff were very helpful and friendly, and theres a great view of the city in the right room. However, the internet is absolutely dreadful, cut out every 15/20 minutes and normal videos had to buffer pretty frequently. Made computer work very difficult. Toilets regularly needed flushing twice as well. Power points were faulty and having no power points near the bed was a hassle.

    Photos are dated.. There is a new part which maybe better. We were in the older building and boy did it show age.. It had an old smell like an older place when you could smoke. The room was good size but as I said dated. The shower and part of the bathroom had mould so I wasn't interested in having a shower there. We were in the area for a party and was only there for one night and want to get to get ready there beforehand. The lighting in the rooms was bad so it was hard to my make up. The television was missimg a lot of channels. Road noise was an issue. Not enough power points, we had to disconnect the aircon(old box style) to plug in a lamp It had a kitchenette but darely any cockery and we had to ask for another mug to make a cuppa Staff were pleasant but hard to find one to check out Won't be staying there again!

    Stayed here previously on 2 occasions and the stay was fine. This time round the place was very unhygienic with cockroaches roaming all over the room. The toilet bowl had stains and the shower had mould build up. Have pictures to verify. The windows had black moss. The day staff were very Unhelpful and promised to rectify my complaint to no avail. Staff blamed housekeeping and pest control. Worst stay ever. Will never come back again.

    Stayed here with my daughter and greeted by a gentleman who had wonderful customer service. The room was clean and overall the hotel was fresh in appearance and smell. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

    First got a wrong room without balcony but we booked a standard room with balcony then they changed a dirty room for me as the pics Air conditioner remote broken! Told reception and wait more than 1 hr no one can help and no reply (very hot day!) Very not recommend be careful with your money

    Stayed here for 6 nights during a holiday with my family to Western Australia. Overall stay was quite unsatisfactory. It will suffice if you need a place to sleep, but don't expect too much. Details as follows: Pros: The hotel location is not bad. It is near the swan river and the Perth city central. Some attractions like king's park, elizabeth quay and the perth mint are close by, and there is also food options + supermarket within 5 min drive. Free parking was also included in our booking, which is the main reason why we booked this hotel (other hotels nearby did not offer this). Cons: Room: We stayed in the superior river view room. While it does give you a nice view of the Perth skyline, the hotel is not close enough to the river for a close-up view of the swan river. The room was okay with decent ambience and decor, however, it was not very clean. The carpet had visible stain marks that felt slightly sticky to the touch. On the last day of our trip, we were greeted by a cockroach upon our return. Other reviews also appear to mention that the hotel is not very clean. Our TV kept cutting out and only after fiddling with the cable connected to it did we manage to get it working properly. Wifi signal was weak. Phone wire was not properly connected to the handset. Service: Was okay, but there is room for improvement. All the staff were very friendly and patient-however, competency is a different story. One of the days, they did not make up our sofa bed in our room and only made up the main bed. Used cups in our room were not washed or replaced. Despite this, our trash was cleared out every day and they generally did an okay job of making up our room daily. They seem to be understaffed-at night, seemingly only one person mans the reception and also handles room service. Thus, if you need something done, it takes a very long time, and they may forget to do it as well. General: One of the two lifts is always out of service. This leads to long waiting times (~5 mins) for the lift especially when the hotel staff are making up the rooms in the morning. Hotel exterior is old and dilapidated. Parking lot is small and also looks old, with ridiculously high humps. Lobby toilet is dirty and not well maintained.

    Paid extra for a Superior Riverside Room and what a horrible experience! Although the view was incredible, the room was disgustingly dirty, in dire need of maintenance/repairs, and dangerous. Mould on floor tiles, wall tiles and all through the shower/bath area, leftover food spills from previous guests, stains on sofa bed and marks on the walls, filthy toilet and bath, leaking toilet staining tiles yellow, broken taps, vanity and toilet, roughly patched repairs that were also unpainted, holey curtains and unvacuumed carpets. I'm surprised we left without any bedbug bites!! Seriously reconsider staying here - unless you'd like to leave with a disease of some description. Vile!!

    I stayed here 4 years ago. Good location but hotel now is very run down and definitely needs to be renovated. Water dripping the whole night in the bathroom. Towels not changed.

    Great hotel for the price. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Night staff were super nice when we checked in. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Great view of the city skyline. Breakfast was tasty, maybe a little $$.

    Underwhelming. Location is great and customer service was good but the room was disappointing and uncomfortable. Hair in the drain when we first arrived which is bad enough but the shower needs a proper industrial clean. Grout was feral. The king beds were just two singles pushed together and they weren’t the same height so the bed had a large bump in the middle. It was a cheap room though so I guess you get what you pay for!

    The stay in the hotel is really poor. This is a really very substandard hotel. The wifi internet service provided is pathetic. The complaint about the internet was raised to the hotel staff and an email was sent to the hotel management and now action was taken what so ever. There are cockroaches in the room and leaking pipelines inside toilet. I recommend not to take this hotel. This is an outdated hotel.

    A great hotel location and friendly staff. it has room service meal order and breakfast dinning area at a reasonable cost, and close to bus stop, within walking distance to South Perth foreshore which you can do afternoon stroll while enjoying twilight reflection from the City scrappers.

    Only gave it a 4 star because having to pay a security deposit, (don’t like this system) requested a room with a view of the city and they obliged. Room was very clean & tidy but we had noisy kids above us, who tried their best to bring the ceiling down. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything. Location is good for a base to enjoy Perth, with the ferry only 5 minutes away by car. All round value for the money… Snacks available within the hotel. I know from reading other feedback that people were not happy with the cleanliness of the rooms, I can only say ours was spotless. No problem parking our car which was free! Not many hotels offer that in Perth.
