This is a nice little neighborhood bar and eatery. From the looks it has all the elements of a quaint little hangout spot. The food is marginal at best, which was surprising since it received great reviews from what I read- which is what guided me to this spot. Now for my biggest disappointment, SERVICE. The sign at the front door read “We ask for your patience due to staff shortage”. Okay and understandable considering the times we are in. However, I was not fully prepared for the lack of caring by the ampule staff on hand. There was no lack of staff (6) for such a small establishment. The staff appeared to actually ignore its customers, some sitting waiting 15+ minutes just to get a menu or for a server to take their orders. The staff spent a good portion of our stay BS with patrons at the bar. They looked like they were having a good time at their customers expense. Would I return to give the establishment another shot…….probably not. Don’t let this review stop you from trying the restaurant. Everyone should make up their own mind. For me my mind is pretty much made up. Based on my customer experience I don’t think I would torture myself with another return. I work too hard for my money and I don’t think it’s asking too much for good service and a decent meal.

Super fun environment, delicious, hot and fresh food! Helen is an awesome server! Variety and wonderful specials ! Drinks , food and music! The kids mac is super cheesy and delicious... the shrimp scampi flat bread ! Yum! The chicken Alfredo is savory! Oh and the sliders are perfectly flavorful and great size!

Always a pleasant and laid back place to go. Kids eat free on Wednesdays (score!). There are TVs everywhere with something to watch for everyone. The food is good with generous portions. Today they were a bit understaffed, but our waitress worked hard and did the best she could with utmost patience for everybody's demands. The chef will often bring plates out to alleviate the poor waitress, and he loves a good compliment. Smiles from ear to ear. The mini crab cakes (new item) were to die for.

We came in for take out. It took a while to get the food but they were busy. This place is never staffed well, and tonight was no different. One bartender for the entire restaurant. But my biggest gripe was with the food. We had someone with us with a dairy allergy and the bartender repeated back what needed to be omitted from the sandwich. So it may have been a kitchen mishap, we will never know, but not only did they not make any of the modifications, it was drenched in creamy dressing and cheese. The burger was ordered medium and came out more rare, the chicken club had no mayo, and the pot stickers were missing one or two. This is all pretty annoying but there is especially no excuse for mishaps when it comes to allergies!

My bf raved about these wings in 2022. We tried them today (first time for me) and will absolutely not be ordering them again. They were extremely small, dry beyond belief, and the buffalo/parm garlic “sauces” were sorry excuses. Not sure how any restaurant could deem these fit to serve - what a frustrating waste of money.

The service was quick and the food was hot but lacked flavor. Overall not a bad lunch spot, and the drinks were really good 😊

I have been a huge fan of South Riding Inn for the last 7 years. Up until my latest visit, I would have shouted 5-stars from the rooftops for this hidden gem! The food was always amazing and the service top-notch. However, my latest experience has put SRI on hold for me and my family. The food was mediocre at best and the service was sub-par. I understand there is a staffing shortage but there needs to be some serious changes if we are to think about returning.

It is very sad to see what the inn has become. It used to be good food, great atmosphere, and great service. It has taken a nose dive to say the least. The service is terrible, the food isn’t much better and it’s unfortunately somewhere I haven’t been to in years when I spent 7 years going to frequently. If there’s a big caps or nats game going on don’t bother the owner will block off all the bar tables for him and his friends to get blackout drunk and make fools of themselves. If you want a good experience in south riding go to social house. You can thank me later.
