An
amazing
set
of
unconventional
locks..a
truly
architectural
and
illogical
engineering
bit
of
canal
lock
design
history.
The
old
octagonal
"toll"
office
is
still
there
which
is
used
by
the
lock
keeper/Canal
and
River
Trust
volunteer...you
can
buy
post
cards
and
canal
memorabilia
here
as
well.
The
canal
here
rises
by
30ft
or
more
going
up
where
once
at
the
top,
you
can
look
down
the
valley,
see
Wombourne
and
maybe
the
church's
spire.
It
also
has
hidden
side
ponds
behind
the
towpath
where
culverts
then
connect
these
to
intermediate
pounds.
A
great
place
to
watch
canal
boats
go
up
and
down
and
fun
to
bring
the
kids
to
see
this
bit
of
canal
history...a
picnic
would
be
perfect
too.
Thanks
to
Mark
for
the
help
getting
through
the
Bratch
locks
and
for
keeping
the
whole
of
the
surrounding
areas
and
space
so
beautifully
maintained!
One
of
our
favourite
set
of
locks
most
definitely....ππ
