What a place to dine in for drinks and more! Simply fantastic. Silently loud ! Sepia blended interiors! And great crowd ! So spacious and large ! We had fun love at first sight with this haven! The drinks 🍺, the 🥘 and the ambience were syncing so well. Their cocktails are huge. Absolutely recommended for all ages! Economic as well. Just lived their pizzas and small eats! Sharing a few pics when I was still conscious to take one… 😄

So many slate a Spoons pub but it it serves a purpose, simple as that! This is situated Below Bar on the High Street. There is plenty of metered street parking & lots of car parks nearby if you’re driving. This is a large pub & we arrived just after 6pm on a Friday evening. We couldn’t get a table at first but after a while we managed to grab one. It was very busy, the staff were great & there was a good atmosphere. Definitely recommend if you ever fancy a pint or even want to stay for the evening, you just can’t beat the prices either!!

Tasty food, great pub treats but a lack of ambience and customer service lead to this three star review. This particular location is well positioned in the centre of Southampton and serves a delicious range of pub treats and rinks, subject to availability. On the other hand, the pub is very dark and isn’t welcoming and the ambience is very dull, the toilets are often messy too. On top of this, I found that the standard of customer service in this pub is lacking and staff aren’t always interested in providing fresh, quality food and excellent service. The review is balanced as ultimately if you want some food without the fuss or a drink, it’s perfect but for a slightly higher standard eating out experience, this location doesn’t make the cut. The value for money used to be amazing however some of the dishes don’t offer good value for money anymore. I would return but ideally at a quieter time when staff have a better ability at caring for the customers and providing better food and service. In the picture is the burger and chips deal with a drink, the chips were delicious but the size of the burger was fairly small. Food tasted lovely though.

Enjoyed a lovely meal with my two daughters 16 and 18!, it was 20.00 and a member of door staff told us we had to leave as my daughters were not allowed in there after 8! I told him I’d checked and it was 9, he refused to let them finish there drinks and stood at the table and waited for us to get are coats on and escorted us out. They were drinking Pepsi which after showed him and I had ordered on the app so I had proof. We were quiet and enjoying the atmosphere after the Christmas market as a family ! Total spoiler !

Located in old town centre. Just Wetherspon, so you know what to expect. Quite busy at lunchtime.

Pizza is excellent and the deal with a drink is amazing value for money. A little annoyed with some staff as we asked for the table to be wiped and they said OK then walked off and did not return. When the food arrived, I asked the person to wipe the table before putting the food down and their response was very abrupt and quite rude, not what we were expecting from a Spoons, we have been in lots and staff have never been like that before.

I mean it's wetherspoons. What can you expect. The food is edible. It won't fill you up and it won't be visually appealing. But it's cheap. Booze is great and cheap. As long as you don't like quality and craft beer. Its basically what you should expect from a wetherspoons. But not an experience I would expect from any other venue. Staff were great. Hi5 them

Such a cool vibe . Sitting area on the outside and huge area on the inside. The fish n chips were truly the best. With many different beers and cocktails. A very busy place during the day so ya know it’s where the locals must hang out!

3.5. Breakfast visit. You know what you will get with a Wetherspoons. The value for money was excellent and service efficient. Needing to avoid Gluten I was pleased with option (Freedom breakfast) available. Saying that, the food was edible but not served very hot. A few of us meant to have mushrooms with our breakfast but they were nowhere to be found. When challenged we were told they had run out. Bit naughty just to miss them off and hope we didn’t notice. When we raised it we were offered something in their place. You could do a lot worse than here, just serve hot food and it will make a huge difference.

Best lunching in a very long time! Nothing beats freshness paired with Albariño

Cheap and cheerful. Had breakfast here, wasn't that great but guess at the price can't moan too much. One egg was overcooked. Half the bacon too the other half not so much. Hash browns were nice.

We walked in and the place was so busy. we did managed to get a seat but expected a long wait for food. It was so well led that day by staff! The staff all had a smile on their faces, and were chatty and cheerful. The food was brought out exceptionally quick and was piping hot and tasty.

Great service. Fish came out dry cold as did the chips. Tiny cold peas. Disappointing when you want the real deal

This Pub was right next the Mercure Dolphin Inn that we were staying at overnight. The Mercure wanted £16.00 for the breakfast buffet. We went to The Standard Order and had a great cooked to order breakfast for the two of us for about the same price and unlimited coffee refills. And at 0800 there were only about six people in the Pub.

We had the traditional breakfast here for the first time after a cruise holiday whist waiting for our taxi back to home. The breakfast could have been hotter but it was edible. The place itself is in need of a refurbishment. The unlimited tea/coffee was a bonus.

My husband and I received the best customer service from a lady who served us. Very friendly, polite and efficient. We took time to personally thank her. Unfortunately I do not know her name as I could not see a name badge. My husband and I are quite clued up on customer service and to see this level of service where perhaps we would least expect it was a delightful surprise. We both had large breakfasts, orange juice and refillable coffee for approximately £20. An absolute pleasure and a bargain. Thank you😀

Typical old fashioned Spoons, busy and all. Ordered a baked potato with coleslaw, simple and good. And a great selection of alcohol free drinks, I went with the Koppenberg Strawberry and Lime cider. Quick service, they could be a bit quicker or have more staff to clear and clean tables. But I'm happy!

My wife and I have just had a couple of burgers with soft drinks. Not impressed as the birders we're cold, soft drinks were very watered down and the chips were re-re fries. We used the app, which glitches and we didn't receive a receipt via email. This place has definitely gotten worse over the years as we were regulars until a few years ago. Don't bother getting food from here, there are better places in Southampton.

Had a casual dinner at The Standing Order. They offer good value for food and drink. I had the steak, potato, salad and beer for dinner at a great price. Wife enjoyed her dinner and drink too. Plenty of seating available and an efficient staff. Next time I'm in Southampton I will visit again.

Went in for breakfast and was advised no eggs but offered extra hash brown. When going to order an alternative meal we were advised that this could not be ordered prior to 11.30am. Then trying to place an alternative meal advised they had no cheddar cheese. At this point the servers could not believe they had no cheddar cheese, Eggs or chicken. Bearing in mind the meal we could not have til 11.30 was chicken. This is rather poor for a pub that bases the majority of its menu on eggs. Whilst there was a notice on the door regarding eggs this was not clearly advertised anywhere else in the pub. Customers were leaving as they had no eggs. Situation was clearly not pointed out enough within the restaurant
