This surgery is very unorganized and unprofessional. You get different instructions every time. Staff are very rude especially the receptionist with dark hair is very rude. I think the lady with the black hair is the person the surgery sends out to deal with frustrated patients. She is very good at dismissing what people say to her. I hope and pray one day she will face the same situation and/or treatment as those she dismissed at the surgery. My mother in law who was a Matron and was working with the NHS for 40 years said this is the worst type of staff a surgery can employ. So, In a nutshell the surgery is not great. If it was easy to move surgery I would have moved my family to another. Avoid at all cost

Merging practices does not work! They have just merged with Chartwell and now after 4 years at the surgery there are no routine appointment. Been referred to something called Push Doctor. I cannot comment on how good this service is but after this being the 4th surgery I have been with that then merged I can confirm this practice will go down hill and all patients start to receive 2nd class care.

This Surgery used to be really good, but now it’s definitely gone down. I am not able to get my blood pressure tablets and inhaler. I haven’t had them for 2 days now. I have rung every day since Wednesday. The receptionist’s keep telling me the duty doctor will get it done and it will be ready by the end of the day. 3 days later and i am still waiting. This isn’t the first time either. Sometimes you are in long queues, i really don’t have time to keep phoning when they haven’t done my prescriptions right.

My honest thought's? The overall operational efficiency is horrendous, and I would be curious to see how the performance reviews are going. Sadly, this is painfully evident by the fact that everyone has had a hard time getting an appointment. Which has been the case for years, and hopefully the recent government support shows some long-term results. I'm not going to point any fingers, as it achieves nothing from a member of the public. I do wonder: what is the point of the GP surgery if you can't see a GP? It's honestly disheartening because this surgery gets a bad reputation in the community, but it has nothing to do with the doctor's. Half the time, even if I need to see a doctor, I just don't bother. Because when you call over and over across days and days... It's just hopeless. Sadly, this has put me in the hospital or had more serious outcomes multiple times, but that is just the reality of this mess. Half the time, I question why I'm even registered.

Just visited The Old Fire Station surgery as having problems with meds and left crying after the receptionist laughed with customer as I went through the door after trying to explain my problems with the three different types issued in two weeks. Be nice if they took patient care seriously and gave you the chance to talk directly to someone who can prescribe instead of undermining you.

Very poor practice. Unable to process prescriptions on time even when just come out of hospital. Am looking for another surgery now. This was once one of the best surgeries in Southampton, such a shame.

Very unreliable, loads of issues, trying to get help will most likely cause you mental health issues as you will be let down a lot, you will have to chase up everything many times, you will have to argue and beg for an appointment, you will have to investigate where your prescription is as it rarely is in the chemist as agreed and then wait around and make a few trips to get your medicine ... its a 'full time job' to be unwell and rely on this surgery. Some doctors, nurses and receptionists are very lovely tho, if you are lucky to get to see them!

Had so many problems with this surgery, cant get appointments, keep messing up my repeat prescriptions causing me not to have medication on time. Receptionist want to know ins and outs of why you want to see a doctor..thought this was private between you and your doctor!! Ive had receptionist tell me in past that my symptons suggested i had ongoing chest infection, turned out i had pleurisy..needless to say i have now changed surgeries. Wouls actually rate this as a zero,

When it was Woolston Lodge Surgery and Canute Surgery the sevice was better. General concensus with everyone I know that now uses the surgery post them merging, is the quality of service is terrible. Not through fault of the staff necessarily but the bright spark that thought this merge would be somehow better for patients. To call the surgery nowadays on the one phone line and to be told you're number 28 in the queue is not unusual. Looks very modern, but clearly lacking funds on getting more staff.

AVOID THIS SURGERY. I am an NHS nurse and was very concerned regarding my dads health. My concerns were not taken seriously at all, I had to visit the surgery/pharmacy 3 times in one afternoon just to get the antibiotics my dad desperately needed (last time they ignored his request he ended up in hospital with sepsis). Katie the receptionist with the dark hair (seems to be mentioned a lot in these reviews) should not be allowed to work in a patient facing role. She could clearly see I was upset and deeply worried about my dad, and instead of showing the empathy and compassion that we are taught to provide in the NHS I was faced with a raised voice and rude tone. Not only this, instead of coming back out to the front of the surgery where I was waiting to ask me herself, she asked a member of the public what my dads name was!! Where is the patient confidentiality?! The other receptionist on this day (18/8) was the complete opposite, asked if I was okay and offered me a tissue when I was crying due to the distress katie caused, I can’t thank her enough. As for Katie, management need to seriously rethink her position or give her training she so desperately needs. My dad will not be returning to the surgery due this disgusting treatment, and if anything happens to him due to the surgery not taking my concerns seriously I will ensure they are held responsible.

If you can arrange a face-to-face appointment here, you should buy a lottery ticket. It is impossible. The receptionists are abrasive, with very little compassion. I have not experienced another doctor's surgery like it. It isn't very good.

This GP was so good before Corono, now its a total disgrace! Always on the phone call above 30, always waiting more then an hour for someone to pick up.. several times after 1hour+ waiting I get the same response "no telephone appointments call back tomorrow or go walk-in or call 111". Once I called at 2pm (had to put an alarm at 1.59pm) and was number1 on the phone call but even then waited 27minutes for them to answer. They just love making us patients wait on the phone. Now im waiting on the phone since 16:03(went from 25 to 4) and still waiting... so far been waiting 1hour 25minutes... and only asking if my sons prescriptions has been written up by with the doctor for antibiotics and if it is sent to the chemist. What a Joke!

I am experiencing a deterioration in my mental health and waited on the phone yesterday for 40 minutes to be told to call back tomorrow.(today). I could've ended up being told the same thing again, so I went to e-consult instead and it said someone would call me before 6:30 this evening. No one called. I now have 2 hour wait for 111. All I want is to see if I can resume the medication I was taking. I'm not suicidal but I'm in distress! I understand this is an unprecedented time with coronavirus but don't tell me something will happen when you don't know it will!

Literally the worst surgery I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Unorganised, unhelpful, uncaring. What a total mess! My health needs are minimal and usually I never have to set foot in a surgery. Since joining this one I’ve had to go in and out to chase things up and find out what’s going on. Getting a basic repeat prescription has turned into a full time job. The NHS should be ashamed of this establishment. God forbid I ever need any urgent help. Avoid like the plague!

Impossible to speak to a doctor and concerns are dismissed by reception staff who are extremely rude. It is a shame as the doctors are good, however you can’t speak to them! Routine appointments are a 2-3 week wait. A doctors surgery to avoid!

Hopeless, one person on reception, queue out the door. Sending prescriptions to the wrong place, not taking ownership for it. Can't get an appointment with a GP for love nor money. Ring at 8am over 30 in the queue ring at 2pm the same. It was a great surgery but something if has gone dramatically wrong for it to get in such a state.

Have lost my newborn daughter’s registration form twice! Massive breach of data protection. Receptionist was VERY rude saying “your not asking for much are you” as I asked if I they could call me to let me know when she is registered as she is coming up to 8 weeks and needs her immunisations. As they have lost her form twice I will be taking this further as this is very serious! Who knows what else they have lost or what data has been irresponsibly shared!

When and if you get to see a dr good but getting to this point is disgusting! I phoned at 8.05 this morning put on hold in a que as I was number 30 in the que! One hour later I get connected the lady said she could not hear me on my landline (no problems my end I could hear her) well she did not disconnect the call and I could hear everything she was saying the lack of confidentiality was appalling I could hear her talking about one of the drs with another colleague. Eventually she did disconnect me after 15 minutes of listening to her talking. Mean while I used my mobile to call the surgery and was 19 in the que and I waited for my turn. Young girl answered and I explained what had happened in my previous call and she did not seem to understand what i was saying and said how could you know who was off sick last week!! Because I was listening to her conversation as she would not disconnect my call. 2 hours later and 2 phone calls. All on different phones I still did not get an appointment to see or speak with a dr.

Terrible surgery. Nothing but hassle in any regard. Send you texts when you never agreed to it, prescriptions get done when they feel like it, to the point where I question whether or not the staff have enough intelligence to be able to count days in a month. Some months have more than 28days believe it or not.

Most times I have called I've had a friendly receptionist help me. Is usually about one of my kiddos and they are always understanding and helpful. I have never had to wait more than is the norm and I've had Access to my records felt with swiftly. During this pandemic GP surgeries have been under tremendous pressure and I want to make it known that I appreciate all at this surgery from doctors to receptionists. Keep your chin up guys 💪 Sarah Waters

Terrible. My partner who is breastfeeding left there more confused than the moment she visited. She has pain in both breasts and told the person who saw her that she used a certain cream for more than 2 weeks with no success just to be told “keep using it because it takes a long time”. Called the practice after 2 hours from her initial visit and was told they cant tell us the notes of her visit….. this is not possible. Very poor service. Update. I Called our GP 2.5 hours later and no notes were recorded after her visit.

Clean and airy good service. Most impressed. Patients should feel lucky having a surgery with good parking facilities. Unable to comment on GP appointments as this is not the practice I am assigned to.

Excellent service. Called regarding my son. Reception answered within 5 minutes and responded knowledgeably to my query. I was able to send a photo from my phone, and a healthcare professional called me back soon after to discuss.

My husband ordered medicine for his high blood pressure on Wednesday the 7th of June. We came to collect it on Friday the 9th of June and the lady on the GP reception send us to the pharmacy to collect it. The pharmacy didn’t know about it so we went back to the Woolston Lodge surgery. They ask apologies for some reason they did not ordered the medicine so they ask us to come back to the pharmacy end of the day just before closing time. We came back 6:30pm to collect the medicine but still wasn’t prepared so we needed to wait 20-25 minutes to found out the Woolston lodge surgery did not ordered anything. Now we need to cal 111 to get medicine for tomorrow morning.

Still waiting and hoping to actually see or speak to a doctor! Came into the reception 3 weeks ago to try and get a appointment! Came in again today 3 weeks later to be told to try my luck on Monday! Word's I just don't have but my health certainly means nothing

My husband and I have been patients of this practice for many years. I have to say that whenever I have rung the surgery, the receptionists are very good. It has been very difficult in the last couple of years with Covid, but all the staff that I have had dealings with have been friendly, and helpful, giving me information when relevant.

0 Stars if possible I had an extremely disappointing experience with this surgery. The receptionist, a dark-haired lady, was incredibly rude and unhelpful and send my to book the appointment online. From the moment I called to book, I was subjected to an agonizing wait of three hours on the phone. To make matters worse, it took a staggering two months to secure an appointment, which is completely unacceptable for any medical facility. The level of incompetence displayed by the general practitioners (GPs) was simply astounding. Frustrated and desperate for assistance, I made the decision to seek medical help abroad. To my surprise, I was able to complete all the necessary investigations in just one day. This entire ordeal has left me thoroughly dissatisfied with the surgery's level of service. The unprofessional and discourteous behavior of the receptionist, combined with the incompetence of the GPs, has shattered any trust or confidence I may have had in this establishment. I strongly advise others to explore alternative options for their healthcare needs

Absolutely useless reception and doctors. You better of finding different surgery. I was asked to send pictures and doctor will call me, never did. Offered appointment 5 days waiting. Leg infection.

This surgery needs to close, totally useless, the only way to get an appointment is to collapse in front of them, they don't care for the people, l'm covered in red blemish's for a month now that are spreading, maybe A & E would be better. One star is too much for this surgery.

After leaving my old family doctor October last year and joining this surgery. My daughter who had ongoing issues since birth for 6 months was seen in 1 appointment with a diagnosis and since all issues have stopped. The doctors are efficient and make sure you are happy with appointment outcome. The reception team are very helpful and try to resolve and issue you may have. Very greatful to have moved to this service.
