I have been with this GP for the past year and a half and honestly I am unsure why I am still with them. I have never had the misfortune of having to write a negative review, but sadly I feel it is important for consumers to get the most accurate information regarding the experiences of prior customers. This has got to be the absolute worst "client-centred" experience I have ever seen. Reception staff have appalling manners and no respect for patients. They also hang up on you rather abruptly. I have had multiple phone call consultations with my GP, and not once have they called me even within 15 minutes of the allocated time of the appointment. Their excuse was then that this is an "estimated time slot." But mathematically this makes no sense when the appointments only last about 5 minutes. I personally would recommend that the GP respects their clients time and schedule; just how we respect their time. However, I must state that of my three COVID-19 vaccinations, one of the nurses was very kind and sensitive. Although this is still a rather weak ratio. As I saw in another review I read, I fully respect that these staff must have their own issues going on in their personal lives, added to the stresses of working in this sector. Yet it still stands true that it is of maximal importance that the person being treated has the best experience possible. I hope that I have been able to make a fair and accurate review regarding my perspective of visiting this GP

My son has started Foubdation course here. During his first term he was terribly sick from a takeaway dinner. He called the door today for a check up as he felt he couldn’t eat and had serious stomach pains. They lost his blood test. They redid the test but in the meantime gave him tablets for 3 months but the tablets did nothing. He’s wasting away. He was meant to have a check up but no one bothered to help arrange this. Then he tried again for another appointment. The doctor called him and asked him what the plan is… he’s 18years old!! He said he doesn’t know as he’s not the doctor so she asked him what he wanted. He replied - to get better - okay she said so she arranged for more tests He got one test back he thinks as it didn’t stipulate and said all clear. He’s in agony. The ext text he got was for him to collect birth control pills!! Hmm doesn’t fill me with confidence whether the text regarding hos blood test is his actual result. Nonetheless I’m absolutely shocked at the negligence and lack of care they have shown for my son. My Son is very ill and lost so much weight. Shocking doctors’ clinic- had too much precious shielding from “Covid”… and can’t cope with the overflow and backlog looks like to me…. They should be called in for questioning. I’m going to take this up formally.

A wonderful surgery that has always gone the extra mile for my family. All the staff have always been polite, friendly and kind from the reception staff, back room staff to the doctors and nurses. I have never had a problem getting appointments in an appropriate time, I have always been happy with advice, treatments and referrals. I would highly recommend the surgery!

Just left the surgery, I am so angry. I just want to do a simple ear syringing. And I have visited this place 4 times. And at the end it can’t be done at all. Every single time they will say no to you with an excuse to refuse the treatment. I want to make as many complaints as possible on this place and I am going to leave this gp if it is possible.

I have livend in various parts of the UK for 30 years and been registered with 6 GP practices. I changed practice twice because of poor service and once made a formal complaint. Never been to impressed, everybody is overworked. I have never before left a review on google, but this practice is soo good that i can't not share it. When we moved in the area a neighbourgh had just lost her hursband, we went to offer condolencies and all she could talk about was how kind her GP (Dr Armstrong) had been thought the process and how many times had visited. I thought, "I want that GP". Dr Armstrong is great, like many GPs but what is remarkable is that every single interaction I have had with the practice, receptionists, telephone, nurses .. has been great. Kind and efficient would summ it up but to manage this all the tme, in these times is quite impressive.

I am a parent and have held back from posting this review as the GP’s are wonderful and helpful. Sadly the same can’t be said for some of the receptionist who are unhelpful and condesning and rude and don’t seem to think out of the box. Appreciate protocols are necessary but common sense is also necessary when a need arises. Perhaps as these students are youngsters they feel they can be spoken to as they wish. On a number of occasions a telephone appointment has been confirmed as a face to face and resulted in a wasted visit as it wasn’t made clear that it was T/c . On a recent occasion the “Tenor “ wasn’t working and the patient has sat waiting only to find the GP had gone as she didn’t hear her being called. After waiting to rebooked on arrival the appointment was a telephone call and it was pouring with rain and the patient had to stand out in the rain to take the telephkne call as apparently there wasn’t anywhere on this 1 floor clinic to take a call. A shame as the general feedback of the GP is very good. Maybe send a survey to wider patient registered to assess the true patient experienced. Judging by the overall review score on Google others share similar views. Thank you

Switched to this GP for my undergrad and it was leagues above the practice I was with back in my home town. Booking an appoint is a breeze as the phone lines are always available. I've never had to wait more than 3 weeks for an appointment and on average it's within two weeks. Could not recommend this practice enough!

First time I visited the place was not a great experience as I wrote in an old review from 2021, but I’ve been there again twice over the past 3 month, was good, the Dr gave me good advices and did a fair amount of test before jumping to a conclusion and the receptionist was also friendly and was easy to book an appointment.

Excellent!!! I have been to many different surgeries before this one, and this is the only one that never let me wait for more than 10 days for a normal GP appointment. Dr James always patiently listen to my story and carefully advise me on what to do, regardless of the language barrier as I’m not a native English speaker. The receptionist and nurses (especially Jenny) are understanding and amazing. Feeling so bad that I have to change my GP since I move to a new house. But I strongly recommend this practice to anyone living in their coverage area.

Absolute kings and queens. I’ve been registered here for around 3 years and they’ve always helped and done their best. Non-urgent appointments can sometimes take a while but with the severe underfunding the NHS gets I can’t blame them. Best GP surgery I’ve been to.

A terrible experience! During my first diagnosis and treatment, I only received perfunctory words and did not receive medication or other forms of treatment. For the second phone consultation, I waited in my room for an afternoon. I was informed that I had been contacted twice without receiving any news. I don't know why this happened, but I have to say that I am very disappointed

I recently had to see Dr Prendergast at University Health Service. I was very anxious about this appointment, however I was treated with sincerity, kindness, compassion and professionalism. He has subsequently followed me up on numerous occasions, I have felt very well supported and if I had any concerns at all that I could contact him if needed. The reception staff were very polite, professional and tried their very best to find me a suitable appointment time, given that I work. In addition to this, I have always had good experiences with the nursing staff at the Practice. I feel that a lot of reviews tend to focus on the negative, so from a grateful patient, thank you all so very much.

My appointment is at 9. I arrived at 9:10, can not check in. I stand there arguing with receptions for 5 mins and at the last minute she told me it was a 15 mins slot. Would it be possible that if you checked me in and I could talk to my doctor for 5 mins? There person before me just checked in smoothly without using the machine, only because she’s not Asian. I don’t understand why a healthy service in university could be so racist and disappointing.

The nurse Trudie is absolutely fabulous, really helpful, informative and makes the experience of visiting the surgery all that little bit better.

😠 I needed to physically see a doctor to get a proper diagnosis, it's not bad enough to go to hospital but urgent enough that I need to see my GP. I filled out an e-form and I was told I would get a call back by 6.30pm the next day but instead it was 3pm the day after that. When the doctor called me...

😠 Terrible. Laughed at by a doctor when bringing in my 4 month old baby, said I'm the problem not the baby. That baby then taken to A&E and diagnosed properly.
